So I dont really eat boil bags, with buttered seasoning but my famoly raved anput the flavor and it was 5 clusters for $45 (which is an absolute bargain). I had the fish and shrimp combo which was really good.

The food was worth every penny, not to mention they give you enough to feed an army for a very reasonable price. These photos are from last night and I'm headed back tonight to get the fried lobster and shrimp. Best seafood in Memphis...shit in Tennessee!

Holy Crab dinner, mouthwatering Cajun seafood , good value! 4 big crab legs with claws, 1/2 lb shrimp, potatoes, 2 corns , sausages for only $35! Fried catfish has crunchy cornmeal crust but moist inside ! Definitely a hidden gem!

I wanted to give five stars just for the fact that the restaurant has REAL catfish and not Swai! However, the cooks are heavy handed on the salt, so they lost a star. If the cooks could cut the salt in half, the catfish meal would be banging ! Great meal presentation and quantity! Overall, this will be my new Memphis catfish spot, with the request to fry the fish hard with light salt. Just please don't ever do the deceitful switch of replacing catfish with Swai and selling it as catfish on the menu. Oh, the hours are amazing! My flight got in late, and I was able to still order HOT catfish! Yes, the food was hot when received. Thanks!

BLACK OWNED ALERT! So late last night I had a taste for some crab legs. Like the type of taste that if I didn't get them I was gone go crazy I've been hearing a lot about @straightdropmemphis and I decided this was my time to see what they were hitting on and to see if this might be my new late night crab spot. BABYYYYY WHEN I TELL YOU STRAIGHT DROP DID WHAT THEY HAD TO DO! It was like 12:45 am and they was serving some immaculate crab legs ya hear me. And the best part about this place is they are serving free BLACK OWNED ALKALINE WATER! This spot is located in the heart of north memphis and serving the people what they want! Pull up on them MEMPHIS!! @straightdropmemphis I'm not really sure of their hours but I went at 12:45am and they were fully operating #foodie #Northmemphis #seafood #travel #traveler #foodgasm #foodporn #memphisfood #foodie #reviews #explore #explorepage #viral #blackfoodblogger #blackfoodie #nolaeats #neworleansfoodie #memphisfoodie #southside #Latenight #caramel #crablegs #straightdrop # #memphis #burger #blackowned

The space is sleek, aiming for elevated coastal dining in Memphis. I recommend making a reservation on Resy or calling ahead by phone. The parking garage at Crosstown Concourse is convenient (the first floor is free for the first two hours, and the other floors are free at all times). There is also street parking available around the area. Upon entry, the hostess stand is immediately to the left, with an open kitchen and a small bar directly ahead. The main dining area is spacious with widely spaced tables, and there is also an outdoor patio. FOOD: 1. Coconut Shrimp Roll (4/5): It's a solid execution with a nice balance of sweetness and texture. The coconut adds a subtle crispness without overpowering the roll, and the seafood flavor still comes through. It's not overly complex. 2. Calamari (4/5): It's lightly fried with a good crunch and not greasy, which already puts it above average. The seasoning is balanced rather than heavy-handed, and it works well as a shared starter. 3. Cajun Ruby Trout with Coleslaw (4/5): This is the most cohesive dish of the three. The trout is well-cooked and lightly seasoned with a Cajun kick that doesn't overwhelm the fish. The coleslaw adds a cooling contrast that keeps the dish grounded. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Briza. Our drinks never reached the bottom before being refilled, and we finished all of the food between the two of us. Would I come back? Yes.

There was a crawfish festival going on right outside its doors so I checked out some vendors while waiting. When our number was called I headed back to what was a literal zoo! It was so noisy that I couldn't converse with my husband. One customer (hyena) was talking and laughing so loudly from the back bar area that her voice carried to the front and startled me every time she opened her mouth. Just uncouth and inconsiderate. I had seen lots of people outside eating boiled crawfish that was pouring out of the styrofoam containers but my husband suggested I get it here. It was on the menu for $9/ 1/2lb and $15/lb but with a minimum pound order, and today bc they were competing with the festival, they upped the price to $20/lb. I had never had whole crawfish but it looked delicious from the outside vendors. I thought my husband was splitting the order with me but he ordered the Cajun fried rice and a grouper fish sandwich. He also ordered the soft shell crab appetizer. It was okay. It was 1 crab, maybe. I was so disappointed when my food arrived in a bag, especially then learning how to twist off the head of the crawfish and discovering there isn't much to them, so in essence it's a pound of useless head. I also thought the crawfish was bland and not worth the effort. Not the restaurant's fault that I didn't know better. My husband said the grouper upset his stomach and tasted like an oil sandwich. To make matters worse, we sat next to a table of 4 young people cursing and on a video call, 1 who made me hyper alert about my surroundings. I was just turned off by the environment and couldn't enjoy my food so I took the entire meal with us so my husband could eat it later. $80 bill for a meal we didn't enjoy and a loud and uncouth environment.

They did have a bar setup but no bartenders, made drinks in the front. The Food!!!! 10/10 and I will solely keep going for that fried catfish. My whole table had them. 1-2 pieces on catfish each. It's that good. I got some tenders with fries and a side of the spicy honey gold sauce. Best sauce that I had in awhile. Our waitresses Kim & Patrice were phenomenal to us the entire night. Anything that we wanted, we got it. For a Saturday night, they were on point with the service. The Chef also keep checking in on us too and that's something you typically don't see. They do have their own lot, and parking was $5 for Genre customers, which was convenient. When I went inside around 4:30, it was pretty quiet--no music or activity--which was a bit surprising since the class was scheduled to start then. Shortly after, a gentleman came up front and let me know the earlier floral class was running over. I was invited to take a seat and given a menu in case I wanted to order while I waited. Ordering is done through a tablet kiosk right by the entrance. I can see how that might be a bit inconvenient if it gets busy, but it seemed to work fine during my visit. I ordered the 1-piece catfish with a side of okra. I was told it would be whole pieces, but it ended up being a large filet--which was still perfectly fine. My food came out in about 15 minutes. The catfish was a great size and fried to perfection--crispy and flavorful. It was served over a bed of okra, which unfortunately was a bit overcooked, so I didn't eat much of it. Overall, I'd rate the entrée a 7/10. I skipped ordering a drink since beverages were included with the floral class, and they actually brought me one while I waited, which I appreciated. I also noticed they offer hookah, which adds to the overall vibe. Once the music was turned on, the atmosphere really picked up and felt much more lively. I'd definitely come back to try more items on the menu and experience it during a busier time.

This entire restaurant is built on a slight slope, and they did not level the foundation when building out the restaurant, so if you're sitting at your table and the table is aligned north to south, you will see a slight lean to the flooring. Also, if you have any juices on your plate of food, the juices will flow toward Beale Street. I wanted to try their tamales but will have to do it on a subsequent visit. This visit we ordered the bowl of gumbo and the Memphis strip steak which is pre-cut for you. The gumbo is slightly salty but good. The strip steak was really good, filling and cooked to order. I chose new potatoes as my one side. Service here can be a little difficult depending how busy they are and how wild your fellow patrons in the restaurant can be. It took a long time to pay the bill here due to a large party coming in right when we were wanting to pay and our server was attending to them for about 15 mins while we were trying to flag him down. Other than that, we had no other problems. I would happily return the next time I'm in the downtown area and looking for food near Beale Street.
