Colby was an excellent server from start to finish. He was excellent with his time and menu offerings. Kept glasses full and was a delightful human. Stopped in to celebrate my daughter's report card & for beginning to fall. Everything was delightful. The ingredients fresh and incredibly paired sides. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Atmosphere was peaceful. We enjoyed the patio and people watching. We left feeling very thankful for the wonderful experience and afternoon. I would only request you guys bring back the wedge salad as it wasn't available. You will leave feeling, you experienced excellence. Already looking for the next reason to celebrate just so we can come in to dine. It had been several years since our last visit. I look forward to returning!
Great atmosphere for dining and all appetizers we ordered were so delicious! Highly recommend the carpaccio and crème brûlée. It had been a while since I had dined here but the view and service didn't disappoint! Excellent overall.
Could this be the finest seafood establishment in Memphis? The hype around Coastal Fish is one I can now personally attest to and wholeheartedly agree with. We were seated in front of the water, and I could immediately tell this place was the real deal. Upon opening my menu, I was instantly inundated with an array of seafood and even a few "land" offerings. I had a hard time choosing my dish, as so many options sounded awesome. My table mates and I shared a couple of plates of fried calamari, which I was surprised to enjoy. Squid and most crustacean dishes are far from my liking, but this calamari was fried so well that I could happily forget what I was eating. After a few bites, I shared the Chopped Salad (half portion) with my boyfriend. This salad was PHENOMENAL. It was incredibly tasty and beautifully plated. My favorite touch was the crispy bacon and ripe tomatoes. Everything about the salad was perfect! My entree was by far the star of the show. I ordered the BBQ Black Cod, and substituted the okra for crispy Brussels sprouts. I was incredibly appreciative of the staff's willingness to grant my substitution request, as these Brussels were to die for! As for the rest of the dish, I have zero notes! The cod was cooked perfectly and paired with a sweet, maple glaze atop sweet corn grits. I would absolutely come back just for this dish! I was fortunate enough to try a bite of the Idaho Rainbow Trout, which came in a close second to my own dish. Not only was the food here outstanding, but the table service was almost too good. The staff here will never leave your drink empty or your table cluttered. Their vigilance did not go unnoticed! While I'm not a Memphis resident, I'll make my best persuasive effort to return to Coastal on my next trip to the city.
The food was what I call perfection. I ordered the steak and lobster tail. My meal didn't require any type of steak sauce or additional sauce because it didn't need anything added. The steak was so juicy and the lobster tail was excellent. Everyone in my party of eight ordered practically everything on the menu and everyone says everything was so good that they will definitely be coming back again. The customer service was impressive from the beginning to the end. Our server was named Abigail and she provided A1 service. She was knowledgeable, helpful, professional and proficient. The atmosphere was relaxing and elegant with a view like a piece of heaven. The pond view with the sun beaming against the water was beautiful. We went to celebrate my birthday and it's definitely a birthday I will never forget. If you want to go some where special then this is definitely the place.
The food was just okay for me because I didn't really enjoy the scallop dish I ordered. I wasn't aware that the entrée would only include about four delectable scallops, and the side looked similar to avocado toast, which I wasn't expecting. I knew the dish contained avocado, but I didn't realize it would be served on top of a thick slice of toast. On the positive side, my husband thoroughly enjoyed his salmon entrée. I also had the wedge salad, which was delicious. I would have preferred ranch dressing instead of blue cheese, but I don't recall being asked which dressing I wanted. Even so, the salad and my drink were both outstanding. The service was top-tier--professional, attentive, and excellent in every way. The restaurant offers spectacular waterfront views, and I especially enjoyed watching the sunset and taking in the atmosphere. This is definitely an upscale establishment with a romantic ambiance, making it a great choice for date nights, entertaining out-of-town guests, or celebrating special occasions. I would absolutely recommend it and look forward to returning. Next time, I'll probably order the oysters because they looked amazing. Oh! In addition, this is a great spot for lovely pics.
Coastal Fish Company is always a great spot for a romantic night out or a great dinner experience. For starters, we had the NOLA oysters, and they are probably my favorite oysters in Memphis. I love the sauce, and you can definitely tell the oysters are fresh. Next, we had the steak and mashed potatoes -- the steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The lobster bisque was my starter, and it was honestly one of the best I've had in a while. The only small disappointment was the dessert , pineapple upside down cake. It seemed a little overcooked because it had a slightly burnt taste at the bottom. Overall, the service is always 10/10, and I'd give the food a solid 9/10. Definitely one of my favorite places in Memphis for a quality dining experience. i'd like to come back again and watch the sunset from the patio.
Wow, what an amazing time we had! From the arrival, to the hostess stand, our seating, and the wait staff. Everything went great! It's a beautiful place nestled in Shelby farms. The first question our waitress asked, was we celebrating anything? I told her we were actually celebrating our Thirty-Fourth Wedding Anniversary. While we were looking at the menus, she brought us a glass of champagne with a strawberry on top. And congratulated us on our anniversary. Her waitressing skills were impeccable. We wanted or waited for nothing the whole night! I haven't even gotten started on the food yet. I can honestly say every dish we got was amazing. It's so refreshing to have everything go right in a restaurant. There were so many great options on the menu. I had a problem figuring out what I wanted. So I just ordered way to many things......lol.... We started off with the Blackened Shrimp Brie Dip and the Sauted Blue Crab Claws. They were some of the best appetizers we've ever had. This includes restaurants near the ocean. I also got the classic half wedge salad. Usually a salad is nothing to write home about. I'm here to tell you that was the freshest, best tasting salad. I've ever had. For the main course, I got the Spicy Louisiana Red Fish. Whith Jambalaya, Andouille Sausage, Shrimp, Crawfish, In a Cajun Cream Sauce and my wife got the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Steamed Green Beands and Garlic Whipped Potatoes. Just to make it more difficult on myself. I also added the Jumbo Cocktail Shrimp on Half Shells. I know I sound like a broken record, but every dish was absolutely amazing. The food is so fresh and flavorful. They are a little on the expensive side. But trust me, you deserve it. You only live once! We finished up the evening with a Creme Brulee and a Piece of Dark Chocolate Covered Lime Pie. I think at this point it's very safe to say we were miserable. I highly recommend Coastal Fish Company! You won't regret it. There was not one bad thing or improvement, I could talk about. I really don't know how their seafood is so fresh. This far from the ocean. I look forward to coming back and trying some other dishes. I can honestly put this place in my top three restaurants of all time......... Just so you know, the valet parking is complimentary.
We dined in last night to celebrate a birthday. We were seated on the back patio area. The weather has been temperamental lately but it was a little bit warmer so it worked out. There were heaters going by the time the sun set which helped not out the chill coming from the lake. Gianna was our server for the evening. Cocktail: Coastal 75: yummy! NOLA style half dozen oysters: soo flavorful and delicious. I should have gotten a full dozen We enjoyed sitting with one another while eating and chatting. The atmosphere is welcoming. The view of the lake at sunset is nice as well. There is complimentary valet available for those dining in. Point Judith calamari: crispy and seasoned well
The food here is always good as well as the service. This is our go-to for date nights and any celebration.
Amazing service and delicious food. I had my last meal of 2025 here and the experience did not disappoint. We had a table outside with a waterfront view and although it was chilly outside the heat lamps kept me nice and toasty. The professionalism of the staff here is A1 but our server Colby was arguably the best. He was personable, attentive and extremely knowledgeable of the menu. New Year's Eve had a special 4 course menu at $115 per person and everything I had was absolutely delicious. My meal plan included the rock shrimp pot pie, New England clam chowder, butter poached lobster tail and the key lime pie. I also had two Casamigos cocktails that I customized to my liking and enjoyed their complimentary champagne toast at the end of the meal. The dim lit vibe, well prepared food and the top notch service here all served as a good way to end the year. Random Tips: they have complementary valet and heated patio lamps
Came for the first time as an anniversary treat and on recommendation from a coworker. Absolutely would visit again. The location on the water is just beautiful. Now, it took a bit to get service due to a miscommunication, but the staff and management absolutely made it all right. Our server Lizzie was awesome!! She was so friendly and just the right amount of attentive and helpful. We really wanted good quality seafood and we got it. We had a selection of raw things - cocktail oysters, tuna tartare, sashimi - and it was so delicious. Each bite was complex and fresh beyond explanation. I also had the lobster bisque, which might have to become a staple for repeat visits. I cant wait to come back to try some dinner entrees.
Updated: 01/02/2026 Been here multiple times mostly for special occasions. Today it was for a birthday. Got the Encrusted Yellow Finn Tuna. I feel like it was cooked perfectly for me. The center is tartare but not cool not cold. The vegetable sushi enhanced the meal. Got my usual Nola baked oysters. Wife got the filet and it was cooked as ordered. Waiter and wait staff were good. Sat in the Commodore room which tends to be much less noisy so ambiance was good. Received a mini crème brûlée topped with fresh berries which is complimentary with a birthday.
When I say this was a wonderful experience! The service was top tier ! My waiter made sure I had everything I needed to have a great experience. The ambiance was so relax and peaceful. My food was delicious !! The lobster tail was life-changing in a good way and my lobster bisque soup was so creamy. The west Indigo eggrolls were so goood !!! Omg! The chocolate covered strawberry mousse cake was delicious. I will definitely be back

Cool spot on water. Locals say food vs price is overrated. I agree. DO NOT sit at the bar and expect service for dinner. I had a nice tequila and shrimp cocktail and could not get the attention of the bar staff to order more!! If you don't sit in the middle of the bar on a busy night you will be ignored. Too much attention on drink making and not much on the food end. So i tipped and told the manager and left. But I am one person who is dispensable so I don't matter. Outside patio is loud but on the water. But on a August night it is not very pleasant temperature wise. I would save my time and find another local experience. read more

One of the coolest seating areas on the patio, the lake view during sunset was just gorgeous. Our server was super sweet and helpful, and the food came out pretty quick. The crab claws were incredible, and so was the Louisiana redfish. Girlfriend loved the lobster bisque too. read more
I was really looking forward to dining here for my birthday. I've heard such good reviews. However, it looks nicer than it is. First off, our waitress was super sweet, but she seemed distracted every time she came to the table. Our seat was inside, but facing the window. So we got to see somewhat of the sunset as we dined. Our appetizers were just okay. Nothing to brag about. The lobster bisque was good, seemed to be a bit too salty. I was looking forward to the lobster ravioli. It's one of my favorites foods. However, they didn't have raviolis and said they were substituting it with Angel hair. I didn't think it could be that much different, but my goodness. That was the most bland meal I've had. I ended up taking it home and added the leftover blackened shrimp and Brie dip to it and it made it much better. My husband had the sea bass and it was okay. The dish wasn't worth the price thats for sure! I ordered dessert before they came out with my creme brulee birthday dessert. Which it was good, but I wish they had told me they were bringing that out before I ordered another one. The place all and all just wasn't worth the hype. More for a social gathering. read more

I've been wanting to try Coastal, so I was excited to check it out with friends. Drinks, service, and the seafood tower were amazing. My food...eh. I had the Louisiana red fish and it wasn't seasoned at all. I tried adding salt and pepper and that didn't help. There was absolutely no flavor profile. I'm sure I'll visit again for the seafood, but I'll likely skip dinner. read more
Had reservations. Waited at the door for maybe 10 minutes. Once seated everything went very smooth. Ordered drinks and appetizers. Waiter was very helpful in discussing menu. Everything we had tasted great! Had a birthday at the table, so they brought out a mini crème brûlée for them! If you are on a budget, this is not the place to visit. We enjoy going out like this when celebrating, but not a regular thing for us. We will come back another time for another celebration! Great overall experience. read more

CFC is a wonderful restaurant with amazing service, food and views! The staff is very attentive and friendly, very service oriented, and they all work hard to please their customers, from the valet, hostesses, wait staff, bartenders and food runners. Craft cocktails are amazing and the quality of their food is exceptional. There is a large out door area, two dinning areas with an additional dinning area, with high top tables, in the bar section of the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant, one of the best in Memphis! read more

I am so glad that I gave them a second chance! My lovely wife and I dined here for her birthday dinner recently and it went astoundingly well! We had only been here once before, and it was less than stellar. It was bad enough that we never really mentioned it again, so I won't go into detail. It had been 4-5 years... I wanted to see a nice sunset over the lake and she loves to eat some oysters so the choice was clear. Time for a second chance! Arrived to a bit of a wait for our reservation. It seemed as if everyone was arriving at the same time. Seated on the patio as requested. They did a nice job of keeping it outdoorsy and shielding you from the elements as well. Lots of heaters around to keep you comfortable. The wind was blowing like a mug and it was still nice out there. There is no better place to dine and catch a sunset than here in the city of Memphis! Our server was Matthew. This dude is as sweet as sugar, and treated us like the royalty we are. LOL... Seriously though... He was great. C's comment was "that guy isn't from around here". We just bashed a ton of appetizers this time around and it was perfect. That wasn't the plan, but oh well... We had a few raw oysters to start. You can choose from several styles and/or options. They have them dressed, plain, and can choose the size as well as inquire about the brininess of the little dudes. Moved on to the "Surf and Turf" oyster special. It tasted way better than it looked in the pics. It had large grilled oysters with a slice of filet on top. They were dressed well and tasted great. I had to eat them in meat then oyster stages as they were too large to consume in one bite. Really good though. We ate them all! Then we each had a soup. Hers was Lobster Bisque, and mine was Seafood Gumbo. Mine was good, hers was fan-fucking-tastic. It was so rich and deep and flavorful and creamy and decadent and awesome and good and stuff. It's the kind of thing that makes you write poorly. Then we ordered the shrimp and Brie dip. Loved it and tore it up. I think we ate every bite of the dip. I like that they had big shrimp inside, but they cut them into manageable pieces to eat. Nice touch. Flavor was in another reality it was so good. Next up.... Crab Claws. Arrived covered in bacon to my surprise. I don't read description to remain shocked. It was a different preparation than I have ever had with all of the bacon, but they were tasty. None of the toppings would really stick so I found my self piling them up in a claw and hastily trying to shove it in my mouth before it fell off. At this point, we were near food injury and although we had planned on entrees, there was no way either of us could eat any more. We snagged the free crème brûlée for C's birthday and got the check. We were there over two hours and didn't eat a real dinner! Tehehe. I really wanted the lobster ravioli, but that gives me a reason to come back. We shall return.... Great redemption Coastal! We visited on 5/1 with a party of 6 and sat on the patio. Let me just say--everything I ordered was absolutely delicious. My Old Fashioned was perfect, and the crab oysters (I added shallots) were super yummy. Everyone at my table truly enjoyed their meals as well, and there wasn't a single disappointment in the bunch. Service: 5 stars Food: 5 stars The atmosphere was just as great--relaxed, enjoyable, and perfect for a night out with good company. The service is at Coastal is excellent. Our server checked on us and made our time fantastic. The food was excellent. We ordered the lobster bisque, clam chowder, surf n turf, and the seafood chopped salad. The oblate bisque was very creamy and had a good flavor. Being from New England, the clam chowder was just ok. The steak was juicy, tender, and cooked as ordered. The chopped salad was full of fresh ingredients but I didn't care for the ranch dressing in it. The seating was spacious and the atmosphere was nice as was the view of the lake. So many things to try on the lunch menu I can't wait to go back. read more

Our party was large, the appetizer arrived fast. It was a chilly day but we were surrounded on all sides of the table by standalone top down heaters which kept us feeling amazing throughout the meal. The architecture of the building is remarkable. Every server was smiling, held doors, and were friendly. Our server, Hunter, was great, we didn't have an empty glass of water the entire 1.5 hours we were there. Lastly, the Shrimp Scampi Melt I tried was perfect for what I paid and as expected with what was listed on the menu. We dined on the beautiful outdoor patio of the Coastal Fish Company on a warm sunny Sunday afternoon, and were blown away by the scenic view of Patriot Lake. With a school of geese waddling in and out of the lake beside us, we leisurely enjoyed our lunch. Our server, Landon, was especially kind and polite. We tried the Blue Crab Claws and the Louisiana Spiced Redfish. Both dishes ordered were mildly seasoned, which to us was excellent as we've been eating quite salty at other restaurants lately. The spiced Louisiana Redfish rests on the very rich orzo jambalaya with generous portions of Andouille sausage, shrimp and crawfish. The creamy cajun white sauce is to die for! The staff here are all very professional and the customers are all very well dressed. Definitely a great family or large party venue to impress dates, friends and family. read more

Food Service Atmosphere all 3 were on point. The Hostesses were polite & welcoming. Our server Layla... I think that was her name, did an EXCELLENT job - warm & welcoming nature, attentive service, professional. The valet boys were courteous & professional. The food was delicious. First time dining here but not the last. Appetizers: we tried calamari & crab cake Desserts: we tried chocolate cream pie & tropical cheesecake Main course: we tried Salmon & Swordfish. Highly recommend a reservation for Father's Day. Don't be surprised if you are told they are full booked. This is a VERY GOOD and POPULAR restaurant.

No, but I would suggest making one on the open table app just in case!
What is the appropriate attire?
As Ms. Natasha said, it's a nice dining experience so I, out of habit, wear a collared shirt but I've seen more relaxed dress. I know for a fact coats and ties aren't required.

3:00pm on weekdays. Not sure about the weekend.
Do y'all have dessert?
yes they do - and it changes - several homemade gelato/sorbet - creme brulee, some cakes - it's on their menu on the website as well.
