It came with miso soup, a salad, salmon, rice, and vegetables. It was so tasty and well seasoned that I didn't have to add any sauce. It was also very filling. They have a full sushi menu that I'm interested in trying. However, during this visit, I got the spicy crab roll. It was good and just enough to satisfy my sushi craving. I love shrimp hibachi and was looking forward to enjoying one of my favorite meals. I ordered through Uber Eats, so the cold temperature of the food can't be blamed on the restaurant. I didn't care for the flavor of the ginger salad dressing, which is usually a favorite of mine. It was too sweet. The yum yum sauce, which is also normally a favorite of mine was too sweet. I didn't eat either one. The rice was good, but I missed the mustard and ginger sauces available at other hibachi places. The clear soup tasted good, but lacked mushrooms and other items in other clear soups I have had. The shrimp seemed good quality, but there was a lot of oil on the veggies. This is one of my husband's go-to spots to get sushi because the sushi is always fresh and flavorful. Since sushi isn't my favorite thing to eat, I have tried the pad Thai, drunken noodles, and the Thai yellow curry. All of these dishes were fine but didn't leave me craving more. The last time I had the drunken noodles they were a bit tough and my husband said they tasted a bit burnt. That being said, if you like sushi, this seems like a great option! Came to Takashi straight from the airport and I'm so glad we did. Everything was delicious, fresh, and the kitchen was able accommodate my onion allergy. Hands down 10/10. Our waitress was super attentive and helpful. We had the warm sake to start, miso and clear soup, and steak/shrimp hibachi. The only drawback was that our salads were ice cold, but edible. It seems we came in at the perfect time because we observed a lot of takeout orders, the bar, and main dining room fill quite quickly. Usually when a restaurant attempts more than one cuisine, I'm a little hesitant they can actually pull it off. But Takashi Bistro is the rare exception where their Thai food is just as good as their Japanese food. Some of their standouts are the clay pot, sonny's soba, and chirashi bowl. When I've been here with a large group, I've gotten the sushi boat which is a ton of delicious food and probably the best food/cost ratio if you don't mind sharing. The seafood is consistently fresh and I've never had any concerns about quality. The tempura batter has egg, but they Elme ruined they were looking into a way to also make that vegan! We're in town visiting and my son wanted sushi. This appeared to be one of the highest rated so we gave it a try. The moment we were greeted by our server set the tone for the entire evening. She was absolutely charming and very attentive to our needs. We ordered harumaki and gyōza for appetizers and they came out quickly and prepared absolutely perfectly. The harumaki wrappers were light and crispy and the gyōza were beautifully fried as well. Between the three of us we ordered five different sushi rolls. The Yum Yum roll and Crazy Crab rolls were stand out favorites, and my classic spicy salmon roll was delicious as well. After we finished our server gave us a couple of suggestions of family friendly activities for the next day as well. Our server was very pleasant. We ordered the kaboom shrimp appetizer. It was okay. I ordered the fried rice and roll and my husband ordered seafood curry. The fr was delicious. I didn't know what to expect with sausage added bc I'm not a big sausage fan but it was ground on top of the dish and added a wonderful flavor to the rice. I'm a big fan of eel rolls and at first I was iffy about the roll I ordered but the more I ate it, the more I enjoyed it. The combination of flavors was good. It was made well and didn't fall apart. I'll probably try a different roll next time bc there will be many next times. The curry dish (massamon) was out of this world. The ingredients were fresh and I could taste the fresh ginger which I had never had in any of the massamon dishes at other restaurants around the country. It had a generous amount of sauce that I appreciated too. The restaurant appeared clean and it was definitely inviting. Its customers seated near us were very friendly. We love Takashi. Sonny's Fried Rice (add chicken and extra shrimp), Hibachi Chicken and the Yellow Curry with Shrimp AND chicken are on heavy rotation with us. We could eat there everyday...but it is a little pricey for a family of 5 to eat there multiple times per week. We have never actually dined in, always takeout, because well... the kids and because we limit our son to outings that require him to be in close quarters to others due to him being a St. Jude patient. Any restaurant that consistently prepares takeout correctly and with great quality always ranks high in my book.
