Monster Roll (6) Shrimp Tempura Roll

This is one of my husband's go-to spots to get sushi because the sushi is always fresh and flavorful. Since sushi isn't my favorite thing to eat, I have tried the pad Thai, drunken noodles, and the Thai yellow curry. All of these dishes were fine but didn't leave me craving more. The last time I had the drunken noodles they were a bit tough and my husband said they tasted a bit burnt. That being said, if you like sushi, this seems like a great option! I have only gotten takeout from here, but the inside does seem to be clean and inviting. Try the sushi and let me know what you think!

    Lunch Bento Box

I popped into Takashi Bistro for lunch and had a nice experience. The food came out pretty fast and it was tasty. I order a yellowtail roll that I wasn't crazy about but my bento box was perfect. They also have mocktails at reasonable prices considering so many restaurants now are overcharging. Our waitress was nice and the entire staff was accommodating.

This was the teriyaki chicken entrée... featuring the dry chicken I did not eat

We ordered the steamed dumplings 10/10 would reccomend, then ordered the sushi roll also pretty good, the salad and won ton soup not very nice 5/10, then BOOM main entree chicken teriyaki ...you wouldn't think you could mess that up right? But honestly that was the driest chicken I've ever had .... Also we got the teriyaki salmon sadly it was almost as dry as the chicken. HOWEVER, the fried rice was amazing!! OVERALL i was satisfied because we ordered a lot of food and I didn't really need to eat my main entree. Also our water was not refilled which didn't help considering the dry chicken. And the restaurant smelled a little funky but maybe that was because I don't love fish. I probably wouldn't go back... but if I do I would stay away from any of the meats

Bento Box -California sushi roll, fried rice, fried dumpling, and teriyaki steak.

We had a great lunch date. The bento boxes were delicious and very hearty. We both had the teriyaki steak, the fried rice, the dumplings, and the California roll. Everything was tasty and fresh. And the Price is Right! Our server Hope was very attentive and the food came out swiftly and hot!! loved it!

    Clay pot

Usually when a restaurant attempts more than one cuisine, I'm a little hesitant they can actually pull it off. But Takashi Bistro is the rare exception where their Thai food is just as good as their Japanese food. Some of their standouts are the clay pot, sonny's soba, and chirashi bowl. When I've been here with a large group, I've gotten the sushi boat which is a ton of delicious food and probably the best food/cost ratio if you don't mind sharing. The seafood is consistently fresh and I've never had any concerns about quality. The servers here are always kind, willing to recommend the best options, and are attentive to refilling water, etc. Their cocktails, sake, and tea are also very tasty and refreshing!

Quick service in a nice atmosphere and good food. I ordered the chicken fried rice for a quick bite to eat and it was brought out within 10 minutes.

As soon as you walk in it is warm and inviting! The employees are very attentive and friendly! Very clean environment. The food was so amazing, I have zero complaints! Best Hibachi around! Perfectly located with plenty of parking. Prices are fair! We will definitely be going back!

    Jollibee and Pink & White

We looked for a Thai restaurant in our area to no avail, but this spot has a Thai menu too! We started off with the Jollibee and Pink & White, really nice drinks. We tried quite a few sushi rolls and then the Thai Red Curry. All was delish. If I had any critique, it would be that they didn't give small plates for us to use and share meals. Service was nice, the bartender and server were both kind and attentive. The place was clean, a little unique with all the tvs.

Clear soup lunch and salad with bento box

The bento box was filling. The salmon had great flavor but a little over cooked. The California roll was cut into bigger slices which was nice. I really enjoyed it. It comes with a salad and choice of miso or clear soup. I got the clear soup. This is on there lunch special. The service was good but they don't make substations. The place is a good size and can accommodate a group.

    Chicken Hibachi Chicken Dinner

Hands down my favorite hibachi meal in Memphis. The food is always delicious, very impressive how fresh the seafood is considering we aren't near a coast. The restaurant itself is clean and the staff is very friendly, we always have great service.

    Drunken noodles with vegetables

I'm visiting Memphis for work and I stopped in here because it was close to where I had a meeting. I ordered white tuna and yellowtail sashimi and the vegetable drunken noodles. I didn't have to wait long for my sashimi to arrive, and the noodles came out just as I finished my appetizer. The fish tasted fresh, and the noodles were fantastic. I didn't think I was that hungry but I finished every last bite because it was so good. My server was very friendly and he had the best smile. My meal plus a 22% tip was a very reasonable $33.

My 9 year old enjoying his Crazy Crab Roll Dinner
    Nathan O.

We're in town visiting and my son wanted sushi. This appeared to be one of the highest rated so we gave it a try. The moment we were greeted by our server set the tone for the entire evening. She was absolutely charming and very attentive to our needs. We ordered harumaki and gyōza for appetizers and they came out quickly and prepared absolutely perfectly. The harumaki wrappers were light and crispy and the gyōza were beautifully fried as well. Between the three of us we ordered five different sushi rolls. The Yum Yum roll and Crazy Crab rolls were stand out favorites, and my classic spicy salmon roll was delicious as well. After we finished our server gave us a couple of suggestions of family friendly activities for the next day as well. We have family who live nearby and friends who visit regularly for medical appointments, so we will be recommending Takashi Bistro to all of them.

The bar itself is intimate with about 8 seats, so get there early if you want one. From the outside, the place looks like a literal house, but once you step inside it's a whole vibe: low lighting, great music, and nonstop food and drinks flowing. The bartenders were amazing--friendly, attentive, and clearly know what they're doing. We ordered wings, fries, Brussels sprouts, and spring rolls, plus a spicy margarita and French 75s. Every single thing hit. The food came out quick, fresh, and piping hot, and the drinks were perfectly balanced. By the time we left around 7 PM, the place was completely packed. This spot fills up fast for a reason. Can't wait to come back and work our way through more of the menu. Highly recommend--this is a must-visit.

Swamp Bar has the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. The vibe is great, there…read moreis plenty of seating, and the inside DJ keeps the energy going. One suggestion: the front patio could really benefit from some music. Even a low-volume speaker tied into the DJ's system would help create the same experience outside without disturbing the neighborhood. The biggest challenge is parking. Street parking is risky, and several visitors have learned the hard way that tickets are easy to get. Save yourself the headache and use the parking garage across the street for about $4. It's worth it compared to a $25 parking ticket. Unfortunately, service was the weakest part of the experience. The staff appeared overworked, overwhelmed, and likely short-staffed. While that is understandable, the customer experience suffered. There was very little interaction from greeters, servers, or bartenders. Guests are instructed to wait to be seated, but there was little guidance, communication, or assistance. Long waits and a lack of acknowledgment made the visit frustrating. Food was mixed. The wings and fries were excellent--so good they disappeared before there was time to take a picture. The spring rolls, however, were under-seasoned, slightly overcooked, and only two come with an order, which felt disappointing for the price. The dipping sauces helped, but the filling could have used more flavor. The standout of the night was the Smash It cocktail. Made with Suntory Toki whiskey, basil, lemon, simple syrup, and an absinthe rinse, it was refreshing, balanced, and absolutely delicious. Easily the highlight of the visit. Would I return? Yes. But next time I'll go with adjusted expectations: eat beforehand, enjoy the atmosphere, grab a cocktail, and consider anything else a bonus. Pro Tips: Order the Smash It cocktail. The wings and fries are worth trying. Park in the garage across the street. Don't expect fast service during busy times. If you're hungry, have a snack before you arrive. Great atmosphere and cocktails, but service and parking keep it from reaching its full potential. With better staffing and a little more attention to guests, this place could easily be a 5-star experience.

The private lounge has privacy glass. It can be a VIP area, or a cigar lounge, or another venue space. There are restrooms for men and women. I was impressed with The Pocket layout. It is accessible from a wonderfully historic staircase from the Tailor's Union upstairs. I loved that at the beginning of the staircase coming down, there is an original fireplace in the brick wall of the stairwell, super original and very nostalgic to the space.
