Wowwwww let's just say you have to start with their house ginger salad!!! Best ginger salad in memphis! It was really popping tonight. I had a solo dinner so I was seated at the sushi bar. It had great lighting and it was nice watching the chefs make the sushi. I got the gyzoa , miso soup and salad to start! All was delicious!! What ever that dipping sauce is that comes with the gyzoa it was soooo good!! 10/10! The soup was pipping hot which I loved!! I hate Luke warm soup. My sushi was okay. Service is consistently great; the staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. For starters, their crawfish bisque and ginger house salad are a must try. They offer an extensive variety of sushi, here are some of my favorite rolls: el Diablo, Poplar, Thai octopus, Hurricane & Firebird. As you all know ya boy loves the sushi so much so that I pretty much only eat that since July and at this point I'm pretty much a walking land dolphin; and I identify as such you know I have unique perspective in being as one would say "be part of your world". I came into to Memphis on a cold and rainy winters night needing to fill the void in my stomach that one gets when doing IF (if you're not in the know that's intermittent fasting for you non initiated) and once my time to feed approach's I become ravenous for fish as if I'm Bruce the shark from finding Nemo off the wagon. I choose to sit at the sushi bar because 1. I'm not a dick and would rather give the restaurant the tables for bigger parties and 2. It's like getting a show and if you're lucky you get a talkative sushi chefs. I sat down and cracked open the menu to find a great selection of fish I had a few rounds of some great cuts and was lucky enough to get the last Uni the presentation over all was stellar and the waitstaff was incredibly friendly (one was so pretty I felt that maybe I was on a hidden camera show because there is no way someone that beautiful is being a waitress and simply not some kind of super model that some baseball player or one of Taylor Swift ex-boyfriends isn't dating, but I digress) I did leave my AirPods there and the staff did contact me to come back which speaks volumes of the kind of people that work here So if you want a real sushi experience that the star of their menu isn't a "shaggy dog" and want to actually enjoy sushi properly then come out check them out; def worth an hour drive read more

So yummy!! I adore the house salad with crab. The dressing is to die for. I always get the spicy crawfish roll add cream cheese and the spicy fries. My daughter gets tempura mushrooms and miso soup. Came in during Valentine's night with a party of 6, service was fantastic. It did take over 30-45mins for our main dishes to come out but we had drinks and were still working through our appetizers so it wasn't a big problem. Their lychee martini tasted more like champagne than lychee. My clear soup and cucumber salad was amazing. My sashimi and nigiri plate was fresh and wasn't fishy at all. Also ordered a spicy scallop mayo in a handroll instead of nigiri and it was delicious. Definitely would recommend making a reservation on holiday nights. read more

Every time we visit, whether a group or a table of two, the service is great, and so is the food. Our favorite starter is the mushrooms, sauteed sweet and buttery. You really can't go wrong with the classics such as maki or nigiri, but the special rolls Sekisui does are indeed special. The Jacksonville roll is crispy with garlic and cilantro. Flavorful but not spicy. Try it dipped in the house salad dressing! SPR seems to have more cocktails than the other Sekisui locations, and I always like looking over at what our neighbors are drinking. The ocean pyramid had too much ponzu sauce, almost ruined the dish. Meanwhile the soups are delivered on time and the sushi chefs are slammed with a bar of 8 people. That made us wait an hour for sushi and we became irritable and our paper straws got consumed by our water. Like I get you are understaffed but we saw that one woman sushi chef took her damn time. The waitress we had tonight was not pleasant at all and it felt very racially motivated. She did not introduce herself at all. She asked what we wanted to drink but did not give my Mom a chance to answer and just walked away ,rude. She did the same thing once she took our orders again just blatantly rude. Always love coming to SPR. Tried the sashimi for the first time and it was excellent. I could eat just the salmon sashimi as my meal. Our rolls were also very good. Firebird and Tuna Lover were our favorites this time. Ariel was great as it was non spicy and a little sweeter. Nashville roll grew on us with each bite. We try new ones each time as the menu is extensive. Cocktails are refreshing and service was very good. Highly recommend a reservation or get there right when they open as it's always packed. I was at Sekisui 2/2/21, I was asked to leave by Jenny per 90 Min seat time, it didn't say if still eating, ordering ect, paid ticket it states "90 min seat time" But there was a white group before me and I was asked to leave first before them. They were in the restaurant at least 10 min before I was seated we both ate and was done around the same time.
