As you all know ya boy loves the sushi so much so that I pretty much only eat that since July and at this point I'm pretty much a walking land dolphin; and I identify as such you know I have unique perspective in being as one would say "be part of your world". I came into to Memphis on a cold and rainy winters night needing to fill the void in my stomach that one gets when doing IF (if you're not in the know that's intermittent fasting for you non initiated) and once my time to feed approach's I become ravenous for fish as if I'm Bruce the shark from finding Nemo off the wagon. I choose to sit at the sushi bar because 1. I'm not a dick and would rather give the restaurant the tables for bigger parties and 2. It's like getting a show and if you're lucky you get a talkative sushi chefs. I sat down and cracked open the menu to find a great selection of fish I had a few rounds of some great cuts and was lucky enough to get the last Uni the presentation over all was stellar and the waitstaff was incredibly friendly (one was so pretty I felt that maybe I was on a hidden camera show because there is no way someone that beautiful is being a waitress and simply not some kind of super model that some baseball player or one of Taylor Swift ex-boyfriends isn't dating, but I digress) I did leave my AirPods there and the staff did contact me to come back which speaks volumes of the kind of people that work here So if you want a real sushi experience that the star of their menu isn't a "shaggy dog" and want to actually enjoy sushi properly then come out check them out; def worth an hour drive

Sekisui Pacific Rim is an east Memphis sushi scene, from the food to the ambiance to the service! FOOD I can't help but rave about their Redbirds Roll - it's my absolute favorite for 18 years now. It's a meal all in itself. Imagine a California roll with crispy crab inside and cooked shrimp on the top. I also like that is pays homage to our baseball team, the Memphis Redbirds. And the Cucumber Rolls? The freshness and flavor burst in your mouth, truly a refreshing treat, and you feel very light after eating it. Oh, and don't forget have some green tea; it's the ideal way to round off a fantastic dining experience and help you digest the meal. It's not just the food that makes this place special; Sekisui Pacific Rim goes the extra mile by using eco-friendly paper straws, demonstrating their commitment to the environment and, of course, saving those adorable turtles. AMBIANCE The ambiance at Sekisui Pacific Rim is hip and chic. In the back of the restaurant, they have an aquarium that serves as mood lighting along with a massive art centerpiece that adds to the overall charm. The art features throughout the restaurant really set the mood for a unique dining experience. When it comes to the seating arrangement, their artsy tables and layout also contribute to the cool and contemporary atmosphere. And if you're looking for a more intimate experience, I highly recommend the cozy sushi bar off to the side - it's the perfect spot to watch the talented chefs work their magic. SERVICE The staff makes everyone feel like they're at home. I love them and they love people and understand true customer service! If you like sushi, it's a great date place, a place for a small friend group or even a work meeting.

I sat at the sushi bar and order the hot piece of tail and poplar roll. Both had amazing flavor and would recommend. They were busy but well serviced. They had more like club music at the bar but I enjoyed it. Apparently for Halloween they are going to have DJ and a party.

    Shushi Roll

Delicious Sushi. I highly recommend the Crab salad,El Diablo & Hot Pice of Tail Shushi Rolls. Nice ambiance and friendly service

Aside from the restaurant needing an update in decor & restrooms (all work fine, it's just aging), the place never disappoints. Every time we visit, whether a group or a table of two, the service is great, and so is the food. Our favorite starter is the mushrooms, sauteed sweet and buttery. You really can't go wrong with the classics such as maki or nigiri, but the special rolls Sekisui does are indeed special. The Jacksonville roll is crispy with garlic and cilantro. Flavorful but not spicy. Try it dipped in the house salad dressing! SPR seems to have more cocktails than the other Sekisui locations, and I always like looking over at what our neighbors are drinking. You can make a reservation or walk in, parking is usually plentiful in the narrow lot.

It's a decent place for Japanese food. Expect to spend some $$$$. Service is great. Food is average. But better than most in the city.

I really enjoyed my experience here! It's such a cool and laid back vibe. They have good food and…read moreservice as well. I went for lunch and enjoyed the salmon hibachi. It came with miso soup, a salad, salmon, rice, and vegetables. It was so tasty and well seasoned that I didn't have to add any sauce. It was also very filling. They have a full sushi menu that I'm interested in trying. However, during this visit, I got the spicy crab roll. It was good and just enough to satisfy my sushi craving. The waitress was very attentive. She checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. Love it!

A bit of a head-scratcher with their closing times…read more.. I walked in at 2:00 PM on a weekday, expecting to get a quick lunch since their posted hours say they are open until 2:30 PM. Apparently, that is not quite how it works here. The hostess explained that the posted hours are "off" and laid out a pretty confusing timeline of how they actually operate: At 2:00 PM: Dining inside officially ends, because the servers stop working. Until 2:15 PM: You can still place a to-go order because the kitchen is technically open. At 2:30 PM: The restaurant actually closes. So, if you arrive at 2:00 PM, you are strictly limited to takeout. It is a bit frustrating to be turned away from dining in a full half-hour before the scheduled closing time just because the staff is already winding down. If the dining room closes at 2:00 PM, it would be a lot easier for everyone if they just updated their posted hours to reflect that.

I have been here multiple times and enjoyed all the menu items I have tried. I love the chicken wings. They are fried well and seasoned to perfection. I ordered the rice bowl this time. We also really liked the decor inside the restaurant, but this time we actually dined on the patio, which made for a nice change of pace So we ordered the wings, and they absolutely delicious --we liked them so much we ordered a second round. The crawfish dumplings were also solid, but the wings were the standout of the meal. We also tried the Bake MF Margarita, which I expected to taste like tea, but it's actually a refreshing peach-flavored margarita. At about $22, it's generously sized for two people and definitely worth trying. Our server, Mason, was very nice and made great selections for us. Overall, I'm giving Good Fortune Company (4/5). The only reason it wasn't a perfect score was the missing Slap Noodles. Even so, I'd happily return and hope to try them next time. Next time im ordering Ramen!

Our waitress, Grace quickly became like family with her outgoing personality, attention to detail and knowledge of all the local foodie places to hit up with honest reviews of each. We chatted like we were old friends and she was patient with a few meal adjustments even complimenting some choices saying the chef is going to be so excited to see you ordering filet correctly! (In case you're wondering, always med rare - never well done!) The food was great, the ambience cozy and the service was out of this world! We asked Grace why no one was in? She told us they are one of downtown Memphis best kept secrets but that the chef caters some pretty big local entities. Well, Memphis and those traveling thru, it's high time you know about this place! Extensive menu with sushi choices, hibachi, as well as other options for those seeking options. A refreshing soup option was the onion soup so I tried it and it was delicious. It was an onion broth with scallion, mushroom and tempura pieces. I also tried the spicy tuna roll, and while it's great that it came out at lightning speed, it did not look like it was freshly made. I did ask for extra ginger and the waitress really delivered, she brought a whole mini bowl extra, my favorite, I lastly tried onion tempura (great deal at less than $2). The first piece I tried was crunchy, hot, delicious. The remaining pieces were end/top of the onion and it looked like it still had dirt at the top. It turned me off to finishing the rest. Mixed feelings about this experience overall, probably won't return.
