This is a pretty cool and unique place to dine. There are a ton of guitars on the wall. I was with my husband and 3 kids. My youngest was hangry and throwing a fit, but our waitress was very nice and understanding. Our food came out in a decent time. The appetizer sample was delicious. I love samplers so we can try a little of several different items. Those gyozas were cooked perfectly. The jalapeño crab poppers could have had more flavor, but the heat level was perfect for me. You can't beat a rainbow roll. It's always our favorite anywhere and this one didn't disappoint. The lobster roll wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad. My kids enjoyed their chicken and fries. Our food came out separately at least 15-20 minutes apart and I just told my friends to eat their food so it wouldn't get cold. We usually try to wait and eat together, it's common courtesy but the service was way too slow. Our drinks came late as well. They were watered down by the time it hit our table. So, I have ordered via doordash from this place. This was the first time I actually came to their restaurant. First off, the service was nice. She was very kind. Unfortunately, the food is mid for me. I tried their twisted tuna, the tuna tartar was okay, but I rather the tuna be prepared differently since the tuna was way more im ratio to the avocado. Then the wonton chips were cooked to a point that they were all puffed so you couldnt even scoop the tartar without it crumbling to pieces in tour fingers. You kay as well rat it with a fork. Then I had the volcano roll and almost swallowed a sharp item. It most likely was a shell piece but I lost my appetite from that point. I got the chicken Hibachi to-go but I learned a fun fact... they double the price for their Hibachi after a certain hour (im assuming lunch hour) but it's simply due to the time. The portions dont change (ex. Lunch portion smaller than dinner portion). That was something new to me given that i only ordered via doordash from this place prior. Smh The part that got me the most was once we were rung up... they have consolidated tax listed on the receipt. Im in finance so at times I like to calculate the receipt before it comes to me... I went in about 1:15. They were not busy at all. This is a seat yourself establishment, so I was able to sit where I wanted. I was greeted quickly and since I already knew what I wanted, I ordered right away. The food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time (did I mention that they were not busy). My friend placed an order for my birthday dinner on 2/14 and they told her it was a 30 min wait. Well 2 hours later she still did not have the order as they claimed someone dropped the ball. The tuna was rubbery and not fresh tasting. I have had a lot, I t tasted like it had been cured a week before serving. i ordered here for the first time(take out food was done quickly) and got their veggie sushi, potsickers, and chicken hibachi. honestly the food isn't worth the price. my sushi was falling apart and rolled very sloppy i had to opt to just eat it with a fork to get all the ingredients together in one bite. the potsickers were good and the lunch chicken hibachi was good but nothing special. i think this will be my first and last time. wasn't really sold on anything i ordered. We went for lunch on Sunday and there were only a few tables full (not busy at all). We ordered the lunch special which is a sushi roll and fried rice. We waited an hour then the waitress brought out our sushi rolls and said their stove had been acting up but it was fixed so they were making the fried rice. Twenty mins later she said the rice got messed up and they could refund the rice or give us egg rolls or wontons instead. We didn't want to wait another half hour so asked to have rice refunded. I'm REALLY over this covid stuff! Our restaurants have suffered enough!!! This was one of our staple joints, run in for a good piece of sushi on a lunch break, hang out after a movie, that kind of stuff. Now the atmosphere is completely different. Although the food is still good, I had some questions as to the setup. If you have a full bar and serve wine, for what reason do you use little 6oz plastic bottles of of the grape? Served in champagne flutes no less! Explain pls. The waiter, (albeit possibly new as a server) was attentive, friendly and tried his best but we still had at least a 30 min wait for our main meal and it really wasn't that busy. Credit goes to the manager who noticed we had not been served and came up to us to apologize and expedited our order. I'm giving 3 stars on this trip simply because this was not up to the norm I have become accustomed to. The food(once it arrived) was well presented, plating etc. Again, not as good as I've had here before, but satisfactory. Maybe a little more staff training may help. They gave us free apps since we were first timers which I thought was a great was of building clientele. The free app was their wontons, which are really rich. We got the headbanger shrimp, the heart roll, and the stones roll. We got the reggae and the Pink Floyd to drink. The headbanger shrimp were huge and so juicy, the tempura batter was just right and crunchy. The heart roll was spicy and complex. The stones roll was fresh and creamy, it had a lot of toppings but it didn't feel heavy at all. The reggae tasted like Powerade and the stones tasted like candy but we liked it like that. I used to enjoy Rock N Roll Sushi; however, the food and service has continuously gone down. It can no longer be blamed on COVID. We went in tonight and had to wait for over an hour before we got our food. It was bland and disappointing. They had at least 8 people working, with three in the kitchen. There is no reason it should have taken that long. Additionally, they had no invested in upkeep. Almost every booth seat is ripped. The fix was duct tape, which is peeling up. Everything was bad. We ordered shrimp tempura. It was raw. The sushi is not fresh. The seaweed soup was horrible. We didn't finish anything and left. The price that was charged was different than the menu price. They said they were closed for a few weeks and just reopened. Maybe it got better. We went here in December. Coming from Vegas which is a sushi Mecca we had no idea what to expect from a little place in Tennessee. We were pleasantly surprised. The fish was fresh and all the selections were expertly prepared and served. My granddaughter (who is 4 and loves sushi !!) ordered fresh salmon and tuna. Both delicious and fresh. I had a spicy sashimi salad. Highly recommend. Great spice and yummy dressing. Lots of fish on the salad. My hubby had a California hand roll and a deep fried tuna roll. He enjoyed both. We ordered takeout from Rock 'n Roll in Wolfchase two weeks ago. I had the sweet home Alabama roll (not fried), the grudge roll, chicken fried rice, and my friend ordered the VIP roll (baked). Everything tasted great; nothing smelled "off" - we devoured everything. Little did we know, we'd be in and out of the bathroom an hour and a half later, highly sick for FOUR HOURS! We threw up all the sushi and fried rice; I mean every last bit of it - TMI. I called Rock 'n Roll the following afternoon to complain and was told that the manager was not in and would call me back (they never called me back). Two days later, I called demanding to speak to a manager, and the guy I talked to wanted to tell me that there was no way we could have gotten food poisoning from them. Why on earth would I lie? I respectfully told him it was the only place we ate at all day. I have eaten sushi as my only meal multiple times, and I have never gotten this sick until I pulled up to Rock 'n Roll. He told me the owner would get back to me ASAP, which, guess what? They never did. So here I am, writing this review. Rock 'n Roll did not take anything I said seriously, which shows how unprofessional they are. They just continued with their lives. $63 wasted! I will never, in my wildest dreams, spend another coin at any Rock 'n Roll location again. Thanks for nothing.
