Smokehouse BBQ Chicken Sandwich and Potato chips

I haven't been to Panera Bread in awhile now, and I was so surprised how the place was almost crowded. I didn't remember Panera Bread being this popular. I went to this location on June 19, 2023. Luckily I was able to get my order in quick. My order took about 10 minutes to get ready. I decided to get the Smokehouse BBQ Chicken Sandwich and a side of Potatoes chips. I wish I got another side the potatoes chips wasn't nothing too special. The Smokehouse BBQ Chicken Sandwich were pretty good though. The BBQ Sauce, Cheese, Onions, and Chicken work well together.

It's Panera, if you've ever been to one, you sort of know what to expect. It's the perfect casual dining spot for lunch especially if you're on the road and wanting something quick but not completely bad for you. This location has a drive thru and a kiosk which are always a plus! I didn't know this until today that you can order lunch regardless of the time. I wanted lunch so this was perfect. I ordered the pick two with a turkey bacon sandwich and Mac and cheese. Everything tasted as it should. Will, is the reason for the 5 stars. He's the type of guy that steps up and steps in. As a former manager of a $6M retail store I can spot and acknowledge managers who care. Will was filling in at this location and works at a location in Jackson, TN. I asked because he deserved his flowers. From the moment we walked in the line has started to get long. The place wasn't super crowded but you could tell we all just showed up around the same time. The cashier was ringing people up and he was grabbing all of the baked goods as needed. Not only that, once my friend started struggling on the kiosk, he didn't call someone else to help him/take his order. He stopped what he was doing (which is hard sometimes as a manager because the list of tasks are continuous) and walked around the counter to actually help him order what he wanted. He went the extra mile when he didn't have to.

Anytime I come to Panera I am assured of a great meal. I was in town and needed a fast dinner and this was my choice. My sandwich and soup was delicious as always. Their Chilli is really good so if its on the menu get it!!

Looking at the reviews, I noticed the negatives are about the price and I would tend to agree with them on their "entrees". I have always looked at Panera more so as a bakery and my most frequently purchased items here have been bagels and cream cheese, which have a fair price point. I have had their lunch and it is a bit high and the sandwiches are a bit small, but I won't say that they are excessively high. I just think there are better choices nine out of ten times (I travel a lot for work and have been to some areas where Panera is the only place for miles). This location is a fine example of Panera. The pastries looked good and the bagels were up to par, though I wish they had a bigger selection of bagels. This is a great stop for baked goods.

They got rid of my favorite creamy chicken and wild rice soup!! I was so bummed about that! I wasn't sure what to order after that but this Margherita flat bread pizza caught my eye so I got this instead and it was really good. Pretty big serving too. I saved more than half for dinner.

Not what I ordered

Excellent food & service. I haven't been to Panera i a few years. This may be my new "go to" place when I'm in Memphis.

Come to find out, you can build your own salads, rice bowls, wraps, soup bar and they got a baked potato station lol. What a good combination. Pretty good ingredients to choose from. All of the usual things you'd expect on a salad bar. I did try the chicken swarma.. delicious. Never heard of it but it slaps. They have little cups as you go, that you can use to taste things before adding them to your bowl. Just a cute little place. Staff is young, respectful, helpful. The music is good! A genre you wouldn't expect. I'm not gone spoil it lol. Prices??? Depends on how heavy your bowl is. The register has a scale that weighs your food to see how much it costs. There's a standard cost for the bowl, plus how heavy it is. Makes sense to me. Try them!

Their salad bar ingredients are super fresh, and they keep them fresh allll day by replacing when needed. It's very clean inside, and I'd say a very relaxed environment. There are always about 6-10 customers in there when I visit, but I've never had any issues at all with the line at the salad bar. Their honey dijon dressing is ... THE BEST. I always feel full and content when I finish my salad here! Please try if you haven't yet!!

The hostess seated my wife & I and our server Carter did N excellent job for us. The restaurant is large and well spaced out. It is also clean and the ambiance is a home type feel. We started with the Fried pickles cooked in fresh oil and came out hot. The country dip is good. Basically roast beef cut up and provolone melted cheese on top within a roll plus an au jou dipping sauce. It's chunkier than a normal French dip but it is good. Flavor wise, it was average and could have been seasoned a bit more. The beef is barely above the bland side as far as pot roast beef is concerned. However, combined together the components elevate the sandwich. It's worth the try to see if one would like it. French fries were good and freshly lightly salted. Cole slaw was basic. Not too creamy but also not sweet. My wife got the fettuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken. It was good and you will notice the grilled flavoring on the chicken. For me, the food could have benefited from a bit more seasoning but that is subjective. The meals were well worth the cost and Pop's deserves to be on anyone's go to eateries if you want good comfort dining.

This was my first time to Tennessee, and my first time trying southern food there. I'll try and break this down quickly. The restaurant was cool and super clean. The cornbread and okra were probably the worst I ever had. The cornbread had no sweetness or flavor at all, and the okra was just hard, cold and rubbery. The sautéed squash was ok, with no flavor or seasoning really. I really enjoyed the green beans though. The macaroni and cheese wasn't that great at all, and the grilled catfish was decent. Now for the star of the show, the fried chicken. It was absolutely terrific! The thin and crispy batter and the juiciest meat! Yummy! We took home three desserts. Cobbler a la mode, banana pudding and bread pudding. The cobbler was great, the banana pudding was awesome, but the bread pudding wasn't that good. It was very dense, and the vanilla sauce was missing. That might have helped it a bit. Overall, we had a great visit and the service was completely top notch! Thanks again Grace!
