We're from Des Moines, IA, which just got its first McAlister's a few months ago. When we came back to the south to visit my sister, we were pretty excited to try it in a location where their reputation seems to flourish. This location was pretty okay. For a Saturday night, there were a few customers dining-in, but they seemed to have more takeout orders in general. The service was okay, the cashier was quick and didn't have the same level of politeness and warmness that our new hometown location prides itself on. I ordered the Choose 2 for $7.69, which is any cup of soup with a half portion of any salad, shareable, spud, or sandwich. I went with the veggie chili (gluten-free and dairy-free), and the grilled chicken salad (sans croutons and cheese) with honey mustard dressing. I added a bag of Baked Lays chips for an extra $1.25, and an unsweet tea for $2.15. The chili was warm and delicious, and the salad was super fresh. It was the perfect combo for a chilly, rainy evening. Everything came out exactly how I'd ordered. The honey mustard dressing was soooooo tasty, too. Definitely my new favorite salad dressing. The tea was pretty good, but it was towards the end of the night, and I could taste that odd metallic taste of the canister. It wasn't musty, but it didn't taste fresh like the McAlister's tea we all love so much. My husband ordered The New Yorker sandwich, which came with a side of potato salad for $9.49. He also ordered a Coke Zero for $2.35. This is his favorite sandwich at McAlister's, and it was prepared just as wonderfully at this location as it is back home. Their sandwiches come packed with meat and are a great deal for their price. It sucks that you end up paying an additional $2.00+ for a drink, but the portion sizes are huge and the food quality is definitely worth what you would pay for a sit-down chain restaurant meal. We will definitely be back to this location when we come back to visit- I may just end up getting a soda or asking whether the tea is fresh. In the meantime, I will definitely order the veggie chili and chicken salad at home! read more

I was going to give McAlisters another chance. I walked in, only customer in the place, ordered a BLT, salad w/blue cheese, fruit cup & tea to-go. I left a 30% tip. I received my order & took it back to the hotel. I prayed over my meal. I opened the salad, no blue cheese no dressing at all. Just a dry salad. Wow. Just wow. This was an insanely disappointing experience. We ordered our food and tried to find a clean table. There was minimal clean tables. Once we sat down we waited about 45 minutes total for our food. Which is crazy because a party of 8 sat right behind us and got there 10 minutes after us and had their food within 15 minutes. By the time we did get our food. Everything was cold, they made the wrong sandwich for my husband AND my cesear salad came with almonds... I'm glad I noticed they were in there because I'm allergic. Cesear salads definitely do not come with almonds so I know this was an accident but with it being a bit, and a high allergen food, you'd think they would be more careful. They also refused to make me a new salad. Safe to say we will never be back. read more

I've been going to this McAlister's for a while. I really love McAlister's food it's really good. But this McAlister's isn't the best. I always order to pick up from the app and when I get there and it's supposed to be ready but I still have to wait. Once I had to wait for more than 10 minutes. I'd rather pick up at the other location. The atmosphere tends to be good, but once I came and someone's baby wouldn't stop crying. Not stores fault though. read more

My experience was godawful. The line literally running out of the door. While it was approximately 6-8 people working behind the counter and running food their was only ONE person taking orders. I stepped out of line and asked why isn't someone else helping the young lady rolled her eyes and went and grabbed the manager. He stormed out of the back sand said, "where is he"? I walked up and asked why is it that you only have one person ringing up customers he said, "I have more than one". I then replied- where are they? Your customer line is going out of the door. He said, "I know how to run a business sir" and walked off. The employee laughed. He then came back out and said I am the general manager and gave me his card. I then asked, why do I need this? I have been coming here often for several years and before that ones in Austin. I love the endless variety of sandwiches especially the muffalatta which is seveeral meals for me. The potato soup is awesome and the fresh brewed iced tea divine. I have absolutely no idea why the nearby wings place is packed on a Friday night and parking is available here. What can I say, I am a fan of delis. As a mom with three young boys, I am always looking for quick, healthy, reasonably priced meals and delis are often my answer. I come to this location about twice a month. Here are my "fabulous finds" for the McAlister's in the Bartlett/Wolfchase area. What makes it unique: Like all McAlister's the sweet tea is the best. All of the drinks come in super large, plastic cups and you the staff comes by your table to fill them up. The lemonade is also great. There are a lot of choices and there is something on the menu for everyone. My favorite menu choices: For sandwiches, I like the Reuben and the Memphian. I had the BLT today but probably won't order it again. I like crispy bacon and theirs was a little soggy. They have great spuds. They are huge! They overflow on your plate. Try the Pot Roast Spud, it comes with pot roast, carrots and gravy. My husband (the spicy lover) likes the Spud Ole (chili, cheddar-jack cheese, and jalapenos. A current feature is the choose any two where you can choose two of- half sandwich, cup of soup or chili, half spud and half salad. Oh, I almost forgot. The bread bowl soups are great. The big chocolate cookie never disappoints, so save room. Atmosphere- It is tucked away behind Macaroni Grill off Stage Road. There is a large outdoor patio which is nice on cool nights and you can sit out there with louder children and no one will care! I like eating at most McAlister's restaurants. This one is a work in progress. When they are fully staffed, I'm sure they will improve. Most of the time our order is not correct, but they make a good effort to fix it each time. We order the same thing, and every time the same outcomes. Every time I come to this location, they say it's a 30 minute wait to get your food. Food tasted good. Restaurant doesn't look clean and the bathrooms have a big pink ring in the toilet. Employees are very UN- excited to do their jobs. One was putting food in the "on the go" area, a container of food fell onto the floor, and he just put it back in the bag. Service has gone down and attitudes are rampant at this location. I ordered an ultimate nacho no olives, extra sour cream, and jalapeno. I ordered it to go, I stood at the counter for about 15 minutes it was a bit crowded so I knew that they were trying to get orders out. As I was standing I asked one of the people at the counter to check on the order; they could not find my order in the computer I guess. The I guess she was the manager said that it didn't come over or whatever and the guy that was in the kitchen all of a sudden his attitude changed and he started throwing stuff in the windows that the girls were delivering to tables. He looked up at me and looked at him no words were exchanged but you could tell that he was visibly upset and whole mood was just not where it was when I arrived. After about 30 minutes of waiting I finally get my food order and I check it. The only sour cream that's in there is what I ordered, I don't know how many sour creams come with it but I ask for a specific number of extra. One young lady said I'm so sorry for your wait,but that's where the issue is because no one came to the counter to ask me why was I still waiting,no one acknowledged me and I got walked by I don't know how many times while I'm standing at the corner counter. I've had this issue before but I thought perhaps it was an off night it's always the night crew that seem to not have friendly attitudes. I don't know if they're the same people from the day shift but when I go in at lunch I never have an issue my order is correct. June 3, 2020: This is the slowest McAlister's I have EVER been to. Every time I come here our food takes 35min. Today we had a McAlister's club and it took 15min. One of the sandwich corners was so tiny you couldn't even consider it a sandwich (especially since it was so small they couldn't fit the meat or lettuce on it). We were the only ones in the restaurant. The employees were playing and never helped us. Not coming back anymore. June 22, 2020: Went back because my sister wanted it. There were TWO people in front of us and as soon as we got to the cash register they said it was a 20 minute wait. Considering the awful experience I had at the McAlisters in Bartlett a couple of miles west of this restaurant, I didn't have high hopes. I arrived at this store on a Sunday at about 1:30. They served several customers while I was here and the service was good. Not great but definitely good. The food was the same. But the store was clean and plenty of seating was available. There were even tables available outdoors which was perfect for today's cool but sunny weather. The servers came out and refilled drinks for us so it was a great experience. read more

Purchase 3 adult meals and two kids meals with a gallon of sweet tea, called my order in. Drove 20 min to pick it up. Get home 20 min later and my sandwich is missing. I call McAlister's and they asked if I wanted to come back and get it, because I paid cash I didn't have much of a choice. So I drove another 20 min to the store, was handed my sandwich and nothing else said. Nothing was offered for inconvenience, not a cookie, tea, voucher, anything. I quietly left and went 20 min home. After now 40 min of round trip I get home and my pickle is missing. Now listen, a pickle isn't a big deal, but I love my pickles. McAlister's had the best. I called back and said listen, I have driven 80 min round trip because you messed up my order and now you forget part of my meal, I asked if they could put my name down for a sandwich for next time for my inconvenience. She asked me to hold. Came back and she said the manager said that they aren't going to put my name down over a pickle, I had came and gotten my sandwich and that was enough. I asked for the managers name, she wouldn't give it to me she just wanted to pass the phone to the manager and then she got the manager. Steve Ahler gets on the phone and informed me he was the general manager of the store. This is crazy, I have worked in food service and so does my wife currently. If you screw up someone's order and they have to drive back to your store for food, you do something to make it right. Not just give them what they paid for STILL forget part of the meal. My family who enjoys the food, will never be back to McAlister's after this rude encounter. I hope more people see this and second guess their visit. If I could give this place negative stars, I would! Worst service I have EVER experienced. I ordered online and was notified that it would be 20 minutes (12:00pm) until the food was ready. 10 minutes past the time that it would be ready for curbside, I went inside to see if it was ready. The cashier informed me that they were working on it. 30 minutes pass (12:30pm) and my boyfriend and I noticed a to go order sitting on the counter, no name was called, no one looked for the person, nothing. ALL of the employees were staring at things, kept looking at the bag, pulling out their phone, etc. There were about 10 other families waiting for their orders. 3 other families talked to us about their dissatisfaction and informed us that they had also been waiting for their order for an hour. Several people asked for a refund. After an hour passed (1:00pm) the bag was still on the counter so my boyfriend asked who the order was for. The cashier said it was for me! A bag that was sitting on the counter for 30-45 minutes. The cashier had the audacity to try and give it to me. I initially told the cashier my name and she knew I was still standing there (she kept looking at me). Not a single person over the span of an hour asked for my name again, asked if I'd be helped, asked what I was waiting for, etc. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! read more

Haven't had a really bad experience at any McAlister's in Memphis or Dallas or anywhere. I LOVE their sweet tea!!! Some of the best you'll have and their food is really good to. I'm a huge fan of their cheese dip and chips as well as their soups and salads. The bake potatoes are huge and really good as well! Did I say I love their sweet tea?!! lol Very easy to get into and other than lunch or dinner pretty quick service. If you hit any location at 12 you'll be in a long line because people love it. read more

Not my favorite McAlister's location. The staff is mostly younger folks with more interest in socializing at work and playing on their phones. They do an okay job of taking your order but sometimes your can pretty much read on their face that you are interrupting their social time. Then again sometimes they just continue to socialize and you have to repeat yourself. Depends on the visit. Last time I was there the shift manager was the only one working while the rest of the staff just socialized. So don't expect fast service or food that's hot instead of warm. At least they made it correctly. I'd recommend skipping this location. read more

I really wanted to give you guys 2 stars, but you've never let me down before. Today, and I'll just say - NOT a good idea to eat here at lunch on Sunday. My Father and I ordered at 12:45, and received our food at 1:20 PM. My large sweet tea had almost no ice, and my Dad's had a little more than I did. I ordered the Chicken Salad sandwich with potato salad, and my Dad got the Club sandwich. My sandwich appeared to be hastily assembled, but the flavors were intact. Our food was brought to the table with no napkins, but the Woman was very polite and obviously on her feet non-stop and doing the best she could. This is not a negative review. Just pointing out that this restaurant is completely overwhelmed at lunchtime on Sunday...and small details like ice, napkins, and presentation can suffer. read more
