Horrible service. We placed our order at 8:20pm (restaurant closes at 9:00pm) our order was repeated back to us correctly, we paid. Half of our order was brought out at 8:55pm and when told the food runner we were missing the other half she went back to check where the missing salad was. After a few minutes we heard the food runner and the girl that took our order trying to find the missing ticket, mind you the whole time no one has been making the missing item, but continuing with their closing routine and packing up the kitchen. It is now past 9:00pm and the girl that took our order comes to our table and says that the missing item was not actually wrung up and that now it was past 9:00, they had no more food, and could not make the order. When we questioned her about the situation, "yes," she took our order and, "yes," she repeated the order back to us. We got a "that's so weird, you weren't charged though, and we can't make you any food because it's past 9:00" she clapped her hands and promptly walked away from our table. Everything went perfect. The food is delicious. It's fresh. It's tasty. The pick three is great. Salads are fresh, generous dressing. Soup is heat hot and the sandwiches are warm and tasty. Something has changed for the better ( new Mngt ? ) Newks was always awesome until Covid .. they never seemed to recover and the whole experience has been lackluster the last two years. I still kept coming back because I like the food. The salads are great. But eating in the dining room and having your salad served in a plastic take out container with a plastic fork has been a turn off. They're constantly out of things they advertise for, specifically the spinach wrap. The man that took my order eyes were bloodshot and wreaked of weed. Staff is slow to fulfill orders more worried about laughing and carrying on with each other. This has been my experience the last 3 times coming here. Never again. They also marked my order ready and picked up well before i actually got my food. Ironically at the same "estimated time" it would be ready. Management/corporate should check into this. My husband and I eat at this Newks frequently. Tonight we noticed the floor had food in many areas. Many of the tables were not cleaned. It was clear that the "A team" was not here. My husband ordered a sandwich. It landed on our table in a timely fashion. The young lady took our number away even though I had an empty spot in front of me. After a few minutes my husband went back to the ordering station to say my food was not delivered. They must have lost my order. So one of the employees made the salad and delivered. 5 stars! This Newk's location has come a long way. I haven't been here since 2019. Back then, the service was subpar. Fast forward to Dec 2024, the staff and service is superb! I was in a hurry for lunch and stopped for a quick salad. The line was unusually long but they had all 4 registers open. It didn't take long for me to get to place my order. After ordering, I got my salad in about 8-9 minutes. I ordered a chef salad . I am usually deleting something and adding something to my food. They got it all right and my salad was great. Newk's is good for salads and sandwiches. I wish they would have some different soup options. I love soup but I'm not a fan of their current selections. read more

Being it was my last day in the Memphis area beore moving to Pittsburgh my wonderful Friend Jessika treated me out to eat for a going away lunch. I look up at their wide menu selecton of soups salads sandwiches & the sidses, that they offer, before approacing the casier station with my order,I proceeded to order myself a french dip with chips & a maccaroni salad. My cashier is very friendly & proceeded to put in my order while giving me a number so my server would know to deliver my order to the table, I waited at most 15min for my order to be served to my table which is reasonable for a hot sandwich. The minute it arrived at my table I noticed the well organized presentation & arrangement of my lunch displayed perfectly on my plate, with nothing out of place & having very pleasing aromas to it. My french dip was everything to be desired as the bread of my sandwich was toasted perfectly, my meat was seasoned to perfection & moist topped with swiss onions,mushrooms & an Au Jus dip that was hot and juicy. Their Olive OIl based Maccroni salad is to die for as it's got a very excellent balance of oil seasonings olives & tomatoes, this side is so good I bought a nice size serving to take home with me before I left. Chips are always left to be desired reguardless but I do love me some kettle cooked chips. On some side notes before I close out this review there's a topping station available that offers parm pickles peppers & other varities to add to any sandwich soup salad or side.
