Upon my visit to Camy's I noticed an expansive menu variety offering Specialty Subs Pizza Pastas & classic starters made perfect for pairing Subs or Pizza. After looking over their menu & deciding what I wanted to order. A small pepperoni pizza & spaghetti with beef is what I ended up ordering. The pepperoni pizza ended up being my favorite consisting of a perfect balance of cheese & Pepperoni while containing a gooey consistency having the perfect amount of grease on top & the perfect hand tossed crust where the crust is on point.    This combination impressed me, serving the perfect pizza, comparing most competitors pizzas I've eaten on previous occasions, comparing a few other competitors that resulted in uneven crisp crusts, uneven topping distribution & dry under flavor. Camy's has mastered their pizzeria pasta game offering pasta for delivery & take out before Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut has mediocre game compared to Camy's out pazzia-ing the hut serving up tender pasta noodles proportioned having perfect ingredients including melting cheese on top & enough meat satisfying my love of flavorful meaty sauce containing a fulfilling amount. This combination will be my go to upon future visits if I am feeling indecisive on what to order. What I want to try on other visits will be potato salad (when ordering burgers or sandwiches) wings & cheese bread.    I took notice of the store interior upon walking in noticing a clean inside & judging from what I could see from the counter the kitchen area appeared clean & organized. Their customer service impressed me, starting with the cashier greeting me, having a positive attitude & being helpful with my first time experience informing me of customer favorites & specials offered. I've driven past this place a million times and always wondered about the "Best Pizza In Town" slogan - why only one location if they are as great as other Memphis pizza places like Garibaldi's or Broadway or Exlines? Holy cow! Had the best pizza ever last night, a thin crust supreme. Crust was crispy throughout, toppings were generous, just the perfect amount of sauce and cheese, where has this pizza been my whole life? I'm calling it here and now: Camy's is the perfect restaurant. Over and over again, when I see a vacant space, I think, "A second Camy's would kill it in this location," and I'm positive that they would. The Health Nut: Big salads, fresh-baked bread, many veggie options galore They have life-changing choices for pizzas and subs. They deliver to the UoM campus area and the hotels around it!!!! They also deliver to the medical district and downtown. Aside from being perfect for everyone, they're always efficient without rushing, have no shortcuts, and ideally prepare their food. The owner is very respectful and understanding. I am a frequent customer there, and once the owner went out personally to deliver an order to me that out of their delivery area! I really had no idea what this was when I ordered (via UberEats). Impulse decision, BUT I'm glad I went against my usual instinct of coming here first to Yelp simply because this far surpasses the current rating of a little over three stars. I have to say, as a non-native Memphian, I have been gravely disappointed by the city's pizza culture--there's a serious lack of middle- to higher-end pizza places. When they do exist, the prices may be higher-end but the product is just an unremarkable, typical pizza. Aside from Hog & Hominy (which I believe has closed?) this is by far the best pizza I've had in my 5 years here. The crust had that lovely char on it but was still soft on the inside (major win with what must be an authentic pizza oven), the ingredients seemed fresh and the pizza wasn't cold upon delivery (common problem in my experience here). I called in an order for a ten inch Memphis Barbecue pizza, and almost exactly 30 minutes later, a nice bearded guy holding a pizza rang my doorbell. Barbecue pizza can be a little tricky. Some places pile on so much meat that the pizza becomes sort of an open face pork sandwich. Other shops barely put any pork on the pie at all. Camy's gets it right. There are big chunks of barbecue with tangy sauce scattered around a regular cheese pizza. It's really delicious on hand-tossed crust. Camy's has a full delivery menu of pizzas, sandwiches, grilled chicken and steak, hot wings, pasta and dessert. I traveled 8 hours to Memphis to take care of my husband, who had had a heart attack while on a business trip. He was back at hotel resting while my son and I went to get food. After I asked camy how long the pizza would take, o mentioned that I was wanting to get back asap. My son told her that Dad had had a heart attack. Cany told her crew to stop what they were doing and rush our order. I burst into tears. We were back with my husband in 20 minutes. Btw: he had 2 more stents, and is doing great!!! I was sick and couldn't face the stove, so we ordered in. Kept it simple for my tummy's sake. I called in the order from the internet menu and expected the prices to match. We order the grilled chicken dinner and the chicken Alfredo plus salads, which is what the "dinner" came with. I asked for the Caesar salad. I was NOT told that the Caesar salad was extra and that the price for the entrees was higher than listed online. In fact, I was not given a total for the order at all until the delivery man arrived. The receipt was eight dollars more than we expected to pay! All that being said, when I called to ask about it, I was treated rudely by the man who answered. I asked for an explanation on the price, and he hemmed and hawed, made it sound like it was my fault for looking at the online prices, and then rudely yelled, "just pay what you want!" We did not want to penalize the poor delivery guy who had no clue. so we paid the full price and gave the guy a good tip. If the food had been good, we might have overlooked the rude treatment, but that was not the case. The grilled chicken was so burnt on one side that I had to peel off what good I could find. Then, there was so much pepper on the remaining chicken that I had to scrape that off too! The Alfredo was ok, but there was not much chicken in it. The garlic bread was also burnt and greasy. We learned our lesson on this one. Poor telephone ordering intake and service should have been our first clue. But. Non professional and rude behavior on top of burned food took it over the top. Camy's has changed. It's been at its current location for some time now, but for whatever reason, I have only tried it a couple of times since it moved. Don't know whether it's under new management, but it's not the same Camy's I'd come to know and love on S. Barksdale. Granted, I've only had a couple of the dishes from the new place. They're still OK, don't get me wrong; but the recipes are different, as are the portions (the dinner salad has shrunk beyond recognition). I ordered the lasagna dinner and was told it would be ready for pick-up in 15 minutes. If you go there at night, be forewarned: the outdoor signage had no lighting and the building itself is quite dark. which made for my driving right past it -- and which meant having to drive all the way down to Hollywood/S. Alice before being able to turn back around. They did keep my dinner in a warming sleeve for me, but apparently the extra driving time was enough to make for the lasagna being barely lukewarm by the time I got it home to the Highpoint Terrace area. Like I said, it's not bad. I just don't love it anymore. I'll go back again, and hopefully will have better experiences in the future. read more

I was very disappointed with everything we ordered. The Alfredo was the worst I believe I've ever had. The pizza was not good either. Pretty sure everything is from frozen. We ordered cheesy bread. This rating is to highlight the friendly service and tasty salads at Camy's. I do not enjoy their pizza, but the salads and service still warrant 5 stars. My favorite dish is the large greek salad with grilled chicken or medium steak. The greens are fresh and properly dried prior to serving. There's feta, olives, tomatoes, and banana peppers. Where else can you get a salad delivered that is delicious? I don't know of another spot. if you do, message me please. Please know that lately, my steak on the salad has been cooked beyond the medium temperature request. However, it lead me to switch to chicken which I think has a better flavor. The steak sandwich is also mighty tasty. So when you want delivery, but don't want to pack on the calories, call Camy's. Not for any particular reason but hadn't ordered from them in years. I remember a lot of 2 am phone calls for food back in the 90's from them and the food was always good. Today, ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and side salad. The salad was fresh. The food was warm, very creamy thick and plenty of sauce. The chicken had a good flavor. Ordered hot wings and pizza. Wings were barely (temp) hot and were baked versus (grilled) as their menu specifies online. The pizza by the time it was delivered it too had lost it's greasiness and steam.. So it it was under temperature-- I called night (manager) the GM on Friday night around 10:30pm and I inquired about their hit wings. I wanted to know if they baked them or grilled them. Sarah said they only baked them- because it was better to bake them for the style of wings they have. When I explained that a week before I'd ordered the wings and the pizza and I was more then pleased with their food. I explained I wasn't complaining, rather just wanted to know. Sarah insisted I was containing and that who ever cooked my food last time had "inconsistently" done so. I said to Sarah, I would rather have the inconsistent food (grilled wings) than baked and she continued saying that she would find out who the manager was that night and would need to be fired. Again- I explained that I wasn't complaining, but just wanting an understanding. She continued to say ... That CAMY's only bakes the wings. Then I referred to the menu and suggested she look into the menu, where it states Grilled wings--(because they are healthier) as I was told by the first order taker a week earlier... So that's what I was looking forward too and I didn't get it. :( I'm disappointed, but not to the point where I'll quit ordering there- because I feel it was just a "lazy" mistake in their part since it was nearing late night. Only complaint was that I was told my order would arrive between 35-45 minutes. An hour & 15 minutes later, it arrived. I don't have a problem waiting, but it would have been nice to get a call stating that it would be longer than expected. The delivery driver apologized for the delay & said they became unexpectedly busy. Understandable. But customer service is key. Delivery and service: easy 5 stars. Food and the quality thereof: 3 stars...most of the time. I have been eating at this place, off and on, for the past 10+ years. The salads are always fresh, which is the foremost requirement for salads. The pizza is still decent, but it simply is not as good as it once was. The sandwiches are well-prepared. You can get basically any type of meat, cheese, and an assortment of toppings - or any combination thereof. I recently tried the bacon blue burger, which was very good. Although you might not expect it, this restaurant also offers chicken breast dinners and a steak dinner. This comes with the choice of meat, a baked potato, garlic bread or breadsticks, and a side salad. First and foremost, whether you choose the chicken breast or steak option, do not expect anything that is going to blow you away. Either of these options are fair, bordering on good, and that is about as much as I can say. However, you get a ton of food for the price. If you are a hot wing lover, this is definitely not going to be your go to place. While the hot wings that are served, with a couple of different options, are definitely on the "okay" side, they will definitely not suffice if you are a connoisseur in this genre of foods. All in all, Camy's is still a good restaurant that serves good food. The staff and the service that you receive at this place are top-notch. However, I can only hope that their cuisine will soon return to the quality and deliciousness that I remember from years ago. Was very torn when Tuckers Pizza and Wings closed because they had my favorite pizza ever, Spinach. Heard Camy's was a good place to grab a pizza so I called Friday night when I got home from work (10pm) and customed my spinach and artichoke pizza. I'm giving Camy's 3 stars based upon an average between their customer service and their food. The customer service and delivery driver would definitely be 5 stars. Sadly, the food alone, would have to be only 2. I've ordered from them twice now, and both times was floored at how accommodating and friendly the person taking my order was despite it being busier than all get out. I was also blown away by how amazing the delivery driver was. Seriously, I was about to invite the man in to share my food and watch a couple flicks with us. I wish more establishments got this vitally important step in running a successful business. The food portion of both experiences left a lot to be desired. First off, I feel that Camy's is a tad bit over priced. Both times my orders totaled over 45 bucks. We're not talking ginormous orders here folks- 1 small and 1 large pizza and an order of bread sticks for 45 bucks?? I was expecting a symphony in my mouth. Not so much. I'm not a fan of their crust. It's very thin (and I can get down on some thin crust) and has more of a frozen pizza consistency. What's even worse is the second time we ordered everything was burned. Both pizzas and bread sticks. I get that mistakes happen, but couldn't you quality check the items before they go out? Another sore spot was the bread sticks themselves. They tasted like they came out of a can and were plain- no butter, no seasoning nothing. Just bread. I asked for the garlic dipping sauce, but we didn't receive any with the order. Needless to say, them being burnt and plain, they didn't get eaten. For $6.99? Nope. I will say that our first experience with the meatball sandwiches was much better. This sandwich was quite good, just don't make the mistake of ordering the 4" sandwich. It's literally about 2 bites worth. I'm also a bit confused about the menu situation, when I asked for a menu, they said you can only view it online. I understand this is an age of technology, but when the decision has been made to order in for the evening, you want as little work as possible. Meaning, I don't want to look up 4-5 different establishments online before making a decision. I much prefer to have the paper menus to compare and decide from. If Camy's could up their food a bit, or lower the prices to match what they are currently serving, I might make this a more regular spot. Until then, I just cannot commit. read more
