I ordered their gumbo, which was hot, delicious, and packed with okra and shrimp--definitely a must-try if you're craving spicy seafood gumbo. My son loves sandwiches and begged to go to Jason's deli. Unfortunately, the prices have just gotten ridiculous at this establishment. My husband and I split the Texas spud because it is huge and to try and cut down on the expense of the meal. The potato is supposed to be warm, but we had to ask for them to microwave it because it was cold. I have found this to be an issue every time we order there. We always end up having g to get them to heat it again. The restaurant is large with plenty of seating and the salad bar is pretty impressive. If you are in your overpriced mediocre sandwiches, this is your place. read more

The sandwiches were dry even though we were charge $1 for extra sauce. Also, were charge $2 for extra cheese (nobody asked for extra cheese). I stuck around during a rebranding / refresh that stripped them of character And I will continue to go to Jason's...but never, ever at this location. 3PM on a Sunday--only customers in the lobby--employees milling about (not on break but definitely not working...the place was filthy. Not in the post lunch rush "wow, must have been busy" way. Legitimately filthy. --surfaces in bathrooms clearly hadn't been wiped down in days...toilets maybe weeks. truck stop dirty. --drink station obviously the same way. --Chairs were grimy to the touch. --Floor couldn't possibly have been mopped the night prior. --Kitchen was a disaster with trash / kitchen debris slacking in the flooded floor (behind and in front of the counter without any signage). I've been to this location just once, but had delivery now several times. I am happy to report that I love it. If you're able to go in do - the manager's special of 1/2 sandwich and salad bar is AWESOME and cheap. My personal favorite is Shelley's Deli Chicken Salad. Its a light chicken salad with pineapple served with lettuce and tomato on a toasted croissant. Oh so good! I love Jason's Deli! I love it because I am a fan of fresh, healthy food at a reasonable cost, and Jason's Deli never let's me down. So, here are my "fabulous finds" about the deli: What makes it unique: The choice of organic items on the menu, whole grain breads and overall healthy options. They have great catering options. You can get boxed lunches and trays. I have used the catering for family gatherings and business lunches. The order is always correct and it is easy to order on-line. They deliver too! For the Cordova area there is a $15.00 minimum order requirement with a $4.00 delivery fee. For Arlington, Lakeland, Eads and Brunswick there is a $20.00 minimum order requirement with a $4.00 delivery. My favorite menu choices: The salad bar. I like that you can choose between different types of lettuce and they offer spinach. The cheese is freshly shredded, not the kind you already buy shredded, and they always have fresh hard boiled eggs. The apples are sliced and they offer a nut mixture that is so good in place of the usual crouton. Oh, did I mention the mini muffins- cornbread and wheat. My favorite part along with the wheat crackers and graham crackers. Just a lot of options, you can always get a different salad because of the choices. The soups- They are great on chilly fall and winter days. I like the gumbo and broccoli cheese. I am not a big fan of spicy gumbo and this one has just enough spice for me. My husband likes spicy foods so he always adds Tabasco sauce to his. The bowl portion is huge, but the cup portion is a little smaller than other restaurant cup portions. The kids meals- A lot of them feature organic items. My kids love the spaghetti and meatballs, which is a generous portion and the PB&J. I even love their PB&J. It has just the right amount of gooey yumminess and the bread is always fresh. I know it is not hard to mess up a PB&J, but theirs is extra good. The ice cream- There is a complimentary ice cream machine that features chocolate/vanilla swirl and vanilla ice cream. It has a good consistency and tastes like homemade ice cream, the kind my grandma used to make. You can get it in a bowl or on a cone with chocolate sauce. The atmosphere- It is very casual and the staff is friendly. This location is large and has an open floor plan. Even when it is extra busy it does not feel crowded. My coworker told me that Jason's Deli had a salmon sandwich that was so good that she didn't have words to describe it. Since she's the conniseuer of food I decided to try one for lunch. I had one picked up for me to have for lunch but, sad to say, it didn't make it to my lunch time. O.M.goodness!!! That sandwich set my soul on fire! So...1. My husband and I are vegetarians (lacto- because I refuse to give up cheese). 2. We work at a tattoo shop (Rook x Raven, look us up!); so we don't really have a lunch break and can't just up and leave for food. We tried Jason's Deli for delivery the first time a few months ago and let me tell you - it quickly became a 3-4 times a week thing. He's a creature of habit when it comes to food so he always gets the Organic Vegetable Soup and the Caprese Panini. I, on the other hand, have had that, the baked potato, the zucchini garden pasta, the peanut butter and jelly (because I love pb&j), the grilled cheese, the vegetable French onion soup, and something else I can't remember. What I DO remember is that ALL OF IT WAS GOOD. The food is always hot and tasty, the cookies soft, and most importantly, the order is always right. Any substitutions or modifications were on point and they never forget a thing. When I go into the restaurant I don't have problems. Today I am going to give them a bad rating towards the delivery part of their restaurant. I made my order on the phone and was given a delivery window. It was 30 minutes past the time of arrival so I called them. I was told the ticket wasn't turned in and they are making it now. I asked if I had to wait another hour before it was delivered and she said not necessarily with an attitude. I told her I would like to speak to a mgr to cancel the order and she hollared across the store DONT MAKE THAT ORDER! She gets back on the phone and says OK then hangs up. Normally Jason's Deli is right on the money with their service but today they completely dropped the ball. Me and my co workers placed a delivery order before they opened at 11:00 am. Once the order had been placed we received the confirmation that the order would arrive at 11:30 am. The time came and went.... no food. Called and the lady on the phone stated that they called us to let us know that would be running late. This was a lie because my cell phone did not ring and there was no message left by anyone if I had missed the call. They stated that they would be at our job within the next 5 minutes... that time came and went as well as 15-20 more minutes with no update or food. So we called back another time. This time we were told that they were right around the corner and that they would remove the delivery fee. 15 more minutes roll by and the food is still not here. We didn't get our luke-warm , ice-cold food from Jason's Deli until almost 12:30 pm. The meals were not labeled so we had to guess what our food was when opening each bag and all of the orders were not correct in the least bit. I never thought I'd update a review from almost a year ago on this place. It was going downhill then, and it's completely destroyed now. They've changed everything that made what it was. The ice cream, changed AGAIN. It used to be so creamy, and more homemade. Now it's just another rip off of McDonalds soft serve. Next is the pizza. It used to be great! The service is always excellent and the food is good just a little pricey so it is rare that I go now. It is a deli with fresh ingredients and food that is actually good for you. Yes, the food is fresh and quite tasty. I had a cup of seafood gumbo and a rueben sandwich and my wife also had the rueben but she had tortilla soup. Both soup were spicy and had a lot of great flavor. The rueben was thick and the sauerkraut blended well with the pastrami. It was like peanut butter and jelly; it was that awesome. The place is clean, cafeteria type of service, the portions were satisfying, and very roomy with lots of table. This place is great for lunch and the selections of the menu is ample.
