Wow this was a good ass sandwhich! I got the turkey melt and added some broccoli sprouts! Chefs kiss! This place offers a lot of homemade dressings, snacks, cakes and salads. It's a quite nice place to have lunch. The guy at the front register could have been a bit more inviting. When i asked him about the ingredients of the homemade dressing, he couldn't tell me anything other than its canola oil. He didn't ask the full staff behind him for details. Just wasn't too friendly but other than that, the food was flood and i almost left out with a grab and go salad but i degreased and just left with my sandwich. read more

Let's have a discussion about this delicatessen here. 1. Reviews made me give it a try (Thank you) 2. There is a reviewer who stated they need to remove the deviled eggs from their menu (SHE IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT)- I adamantly concur! They taste like they come from the 75% off deli section of Krogers... 3. If you are a vegetarian- DO NOT TRY THE CALIFORNIA veggie wrap!!!! So I was bored at work and I decided to place an Uber eats order from here. Reviewers stated this place was good so I said "why not".... As someone who has lived in NY when you see the word "delicatessen" it gives Jewish establishment vibes so I had high hopes for delicious food (if you are from NY, you will get it)....even tho I didn't order a lox sandwich (which is so good!). Reviewers raved about the pasta salad. I read good reviews about the tuna salad and some reviews loved the chicken salad so it made since to order the salad platter. Below is my honest opinion: Potato Salad- not my favorite. I'm from Memphis, but moved away. One place I couldn't wait to go, was Bogie's. I wasn't sure if it was the true Bogie's or not, because there are a lot of other things on the menu. They assured me it was the same. The ONLY sandwich I have ever gotten from Bogie's, is the turkey deluxe. It is such a big sandwich with so much meat, I usually only got the half. I did t see that option today, but let me tell you how different this experience was...There are 2 shaved slices of meat in the whole sandwich. In fact, you can't even see the meat unless you dig. I'm so disappointed and feel like I just wasted almost $20 on a sandwich, chips, and drink. I'm guessing whoever owns this one, is cheap and rogue from the original Bogie's experience. read more

We tried Bogies for a quick lunch. I ordered a Greek salad. The restaurant was definitely packed. It is definitely a local favorite. The menu had delicious salads, sandwiches, and soups. It was actually hard to decide when I want it. But I went with a healthy option, hence the Greek salad. It was full of delicious veggies and I also loved the Greek dressing. Lunch: Sandwiches are fantastic. Have tried multiple sandwiches but the Philly Royale is my favorite. They provide a number of other options. Recently had the pasta salad and it also is really good. The snack mix is also incredible. Breakfast: Leaves something to be desired. The main entrees are hit or miss and the bagels and other baked goods are nothing to make a dedicated trip for. This is a local, family restaurant/small business that truly cares for their employees & customers. I have been coming to this place for quite awhile, I worked there a summer in college, & continue to recommend Bogies for lunch to colleagues & come for lunch with my dad often. I was trained by Brian, worked with Fred & Hunter - all of which genuinely care about the quality of the food served and service provided. I recommend the Turkey Deluxe with any of the cream based soups :] ^ my personal favorite Honestly, everything I have had has been very tasty; I loved the deviled eggs, dirty chips, side of spiced oil, homemade pimento cheese, corn chowder soup, every single desert option .... & personally know people go crazy over the Shrimp Salad. We just LOVE this local-family owned place. If you want some delicious breakfast or lunch food - call them and order up! It's not just the food, but also, the people working there that make the food special. I understand from one of the folks I spoke with last week - his mom's recipes are used at the deli. We must support our local businesses - if we want them to still be here after Covid is just a bad memory. Bogie's is awesome. We've especially enjoyed MANY TIMES: The turkey rueben The grilled cheese (we pay a little more to get it with sautéed onions, olives and mushrooms) BUT it's SOOOOO WORTH it! The deviled eggs - we are definitely ordering up a load of those the next time we can have a party. The pasta salad is super delish. We often this by the pound!!! The Egg & Olive we also buy by the pound. We do the "by the pound" when we order a loaf of their marbled bread. We make sandwiches for a few days after we indulge in the ready-made options we ordered at the same time. The extra helping of the pasta salad keeps and goes very well with the sandwiches we make over the 2-3 days after we make an order here. I use to eat here several years ago. So I was so excited to have lunch there today. Unfortunately I was disappointed. Ordered the Shrimp Salad Sampler. It arrived with no Shrimp Salad (apparently the order taker heard Salad Sampler) The server came back with the Shrimp Salad added so that was good but the salads were not. They now chop up the shrimp in to tiny minced pieces. The chicken salad is now shredded and the wonderful pasta salad was bland and dry. The salads were also over salted. It's also not inexpensive. I am completely in love with the oil on their sandwiches. I literally dream about it. This is the original location in my opinion, although I'm not sure if that is even true. It is just the first location I discovered years and years ago, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. The staff is so friendly and if you go in a few times they will know you by name and treat you like family. I have never had a bad thing here...but pasta salad and red velvet cake are my complete addictions. My experience at Bogies was a serious let down from the moment I walked in the doors. A little organization would go a long way in this establishment. When I arrived, there was quite a line, and not just of people waiting to purchase and order their food, but also random people who had already purchased food standing and milling around conversing. I didn't quite know where I belonged, nor where to look to order. There are about 5-6 white boards with specials written down, some with panini options, others with cold cut options. I figured this was the extent of their menu, there were no menus to be found. So, my husband and I settled for the specials of the day, the rosemary ham sandwich and the egg and olive salad sandwich. I also picked up a key lime pie bar and decided I wanted to try the corn chowder. All of this ran us a cool $30 bucks with tip. To say that I was expecting a lot would be an understatement. When I finally got to the front of the line, there were 7 people behind us, I noticed menus stacked up in front of the register. There were tons of menu items I hadn't even seen because there was no possible way to get up to the register and being that I had never been here before I had no clue it was even there. We ordered and went and had a seat. We couldn't figure out if we were supposed to provide our own drinks, or if they came out with our order, so we waited. Let the anxiety ensue folks! Bogies wait staff walks around with completed orders on trays shouting out the name of the person who ordered at the counter. So, in essence, your lunch trip will entail you attempting to have a convo with your lunch partner(s) all the while one of the waiters screaming "AUDREY!" or "PAUL" or "BOB" 800 times before Audrey, Paul or Bob remembers that is their given birth name and decides to wave a hand up so they know where to deliver this food. At first, it was endearing. After 20 minutes of waiting for 2 cold cut sandwiches and a cup of soup, it became less endearing and more and more annoying by the second. Yes, I said that we waited for 20 minutes. How the eff long does it take for you to make a cold cut ham sandwich and slap some pre-made egg salad on bread? Seriously? Were you boiling the eggs and making the salad to order? Did you make my corn chowder from scratch right after I ordered it? I didn't think so. When it did arrive, our waitress (appropriately wearing sweat shorts shorter than most pairs of underwear I own) commented "I'm sorry was the wait too long?" My husband replied with his unhappiness. She shrugged her shoulders and said "sorry," and went on about screaming out names. Unacceptable. The food was sub par, but at this point they could have brought out the best deli creations known to man and they still would have been lacking. I could have made the same sandwiches at home in a much speedier fashion for MUCH less money. I counted 2 slivers of green olives in my egg and olive salad sandwich, and it was so bland I had to add salt. And, forget about getting refills here, it ain't gonna happen. It was so bad, the couple next to us started up a conversation about how ridiculous the wait was and how unorganized this deli happened to be. Never a good sign Bogies, never a good sign. I'd also like to point out that you can purchase book cases with doors or some kind of storage system for the Rubber Maid containers you have on shelves holding individual bags of chips, the random CD player sitting on the wall and whatever the hell else all that junk was decorating the back of your establishment. Not only does it look horrendous, but it gives your patrons an idea that perhaps you don't quite know how to assemble a well-oiled restaurant machine. I'd love to try all the good-looking salads and menu items we saw on other folk's trays. I am sorely disappointed we didn't get to look at the regular menu before ordering. There were quite a few things I spied that I would have loved a chance to get my mouth around. I'm on the fence because not only was it outrageously expensive, but when service is this horrible, there's no reason to frequent this establishment. Word to the wise, Bogies, you need to set up some sort of system so that new patrons know what the heck is going on. You also need to learn to make 2 sandwiches and a bowl of soup faster. I've witnessed the one-man show at Front Street Deli. He handles 4-5 customer orders at a time, all the while slicing the deli meat for each order. If he can do it, I think you're 8-10 staff members can too. read more

Don't get me wrong, I love the food here but . . . It's the priciest sandwich place in town and I've seen a decline in the amount of meat in sandwiches over time. Unused to be the sandwiches were loaded with mean but now, meh - see my picture. $8 for a sandwich that doesn't include any sides is a bit steep in my opinion. Adding chips and a drink brought my total over $12, I'd rather get a hot meal for that price. All of the sides are really great though is I mostly come here when I'm having a craving. read more

Came here 2 weeks ago for lunch with a colleague. I had the side salad and soup. The soup I chose was called Chicken Pasta soup. The side salad had a large amount of black olives and avocado slices on it, strange for a simple side salad. The blue cheese dressing was nothing to write home about. What upset me, however was the soup. Note, it was "Chicken" Pasta soup. Only problem was, they left out virtually all the chicken. It was like a pasta minestrone soup. I searched for chicken, and searched, ah, there was a piece, about a 1/4" cube. Honestly, I could have put all the chicken in that bowl (yes, bowl) of soup, on 1 teaspoon. Love their bread! Especially the marble rye. Not sure if it's baked in house or not, but it doesn't matter. It's good.
