What a divine experience at Porch and Parlor. I was in town for work and decided to try this place. We started with the lobster stuffed mushrooms. Super yummy and rich, in a good way. Scallops and oxtail were so so wonderful. Camille was a dream and gave superior service. Thank you for a memorable dinner! Can't wait to go back and try other menu items.

A great place for a celebration and a good meal! We sat on the enclosed porch and it had nice views of midtown, and wasn't too crowded. The restaurant was clean and service staff was very helpful. They answered all our questions and went above and beyond to make our celebration special. The A5 Wagyu Deviled Eggs were amazing - and your server prepares the Wagyu in front of you. It was a fun touch! Our steaks and sides were cooked to perfection. We even had some to take home to relive the dinner. Dessert was prepared fresh and did not miss a beat. The molten cake was rich and creamy. The brûlée was smooth and beautifully presented. Cocktails did not miss. The bar is full service and stocked with whatever your heart desires. We stuck to the menu with our dinner cocktails and loved them! Our dessert cocktails were balanced and just what we needed to end the night. Overall - lovely place. Great experience here with the meal and staff. I would recommend going if you're looking for an intimate steakhouse experience.

This whole restaurant is a vibe. When I say the waiters are super helpful and kind. The atmosphere was top-level I didn't want to leave. All the food brought to the table was so Good. The eggrolls were so delicious my taste buds were going crazy. This was my first time trying fresh oysters and my goodness I felt like I was in heaven. The Duck Confit Ravioli was life-changing. I almost slapped my momma it was so delicious. Louisiana Redfish with the Jambalaya risotto cake and green onion white wine cream sauce had me already thinking about when my next reservation lol very delicious. The whole meal was so Good. If you haven't been to Porch and Parlor get there fast! You will not be disappointed. Thank you for the amazing experience .

Porch and Parlor was a delightful surprise on our first night in Memphis, and in such a cute area. We ordered a variety of food to share, along with cocktails, and the tableside deviled eggs, which were fun to watch. Everything was fantastic. The egg rolls and lobster bisque were especially delicious, and the variety of old-fashioned cocktails totally won me over. It has a classic and old-school feel, so dress nicely!

A lovely birthday dinner at Porch and Parlor. This was my first visit and I was very pleased with the hospitality of the staff. The valet is on the side of the restaurant and it is complimentary. The front desk staff and greeter/hostess were all very nice and friendly. My friends and I were seated on the covered patio, it was chilly outside, but the covered patio has heaters and it stayed warm once staff made sure the patio door to leave stayed closed. We were seated next to the area where the waitstaff go in and out, it wasn't bad, I'd just ask to be seated elsewhere due to the constant in and out traffic. Now what did we order you ask?? Boneless Ribeye NY Strip Filet Cream brûlée corn (Absolutely delicious) Creamed spinach( very good) Brussel sprouts ( I had one Brussel sprout.. if you like them order them) Loaded potatoes ( similar to potatoes au gratin but fancier ) Mac and cheese Collard greens(sugar in the greens to cut the bitterness but too much sugar for my liking) Bacon Flight if you love bacon...order it! Don't question if it's good because it will be delicious. Chopped salad( it was ok, different ingredients than your normal garden salad, but good combination) has black eyed peas and celery if you're not a fan . Strawberry shortcake Everyone enjoyed the meal and sides. The sides are family style. The menu is à la carte if ordering steaks, they do offer entrees that come with sides that can be substituted for a fee. Mocktail menu offered along with cocktails and wine. The entire experience from valet, hostess, greeter, waitress, manager, everyone was so pleasant. I'd definitely return. Oh we also had the egg rolls, the sauce is a Thai style chili sauce. They were my least favorite because of the sweetness of the sauce but everyone else enjoyed them.

The food here is phenomenal... we had the bacon appetizer starting out which was delicious... we had the lobster pasta special of the evening and it was also delicious the lamb chops and the filet were also amazingly good. Love the atmosphere here and the location is perfect ... Emily was very attentive and we had a great time with her ... Thank you for the beautiful food and hospitality

I picked this restaurant for my birthday dinner and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. We parked in valet behind the building and walked to the door. We were greeted by staff and instantly I received warm birthday wishes. They also offered a cost check. Once seated, we waited about 2/3 minutes before being greeted by our waitress. She was very sweet and attentive. For dinner, I ordered the seafood special which was an angel hair lobster pasta. Very delicious and tasty! After dinner, the waitress brought me a nice (and delicious) birthday dessert! We enjoyed our time and overall great experience!

We enjoyed our date night at P&P. Our early reservation allowed for a beautiful view of midtown as well as watching the sun settle. We shared the wagyu egg rolls which were absolutely delicious. The chili sauce made them even better. I had the Louisiana jambalaya redfish and the only thing that really completed it was the crisp risotto cake, otherwise not great. The signature filet, my husband stated that it was a standard cut and that for $65, he could've got a steak at a Longhorn for less of the price & compared taste. We finished with the Toffee bread pudding which was supreme. Absolutely delicious. The appetizer and dessert made up for the lack of love in the entrees. We loved the elegant atmosphere, dim lighting, classical music & the high quality customer service, however. We'd go back if friends invited us. Otherwise it was a one and done experience.

Excellent service from approaching the restaurant, greetings from the hostess, passing by staff to our table and being presented to our seat. We were graciously welcomed. The restaurant is elegantly decorated, I love the darker atmosphere because it seems to be more sophisticated and dignified for a fine dining experience. Our server, Blake, was phenomenal and was very knowledgeable of the menu and specials. He was very attentive and accommodating to our time between cocktails and ordering our appetizers to entrees. Timing was perfect. He was very pleasant and a wonderful server who was professional in every aspects. The food presentations were beautiful and we enjoyed the delicious cocktails and wine with a gracious visit from the wine connoisseur. He helped us choose the right wine for us. The over all experience for our special occasion made this night a memorable one. I highly recommend Porch & Parlor for a wonderful experience, for any occasion.

Porch and parlor never disappoints. Visited last weekend with a group of friends and the experience was excellent. Our server was attentive and friendly. The lobster pasta (a weekend special) was divine, plus I had plenty to take home since it was such a large portion. We also really enjoyed the steak deviled eggs, which they prepare table side. I didn't try the chicken, but my friend said it was delicious as well. We will definitely return!

As an international traveling food critic and unbeknownst to the staff, the following is what I experienced: + Superb service from Georgia Brennan. She was energetic, down to earth, extremely efficient with impeccable situational awareness, which yielded a positive attitude to do what's right for the customer and the business model. + Very comfortable and old school atmosphere inside, airy and light outside. + Quality of food was exceptional high with nothing but the finest of meats, starch, and vegetables. If you are in the area and don't take the time to dine here, you missed out on a fine experience.

    Super good desert cake!

My wife had her birthday while we were in Memphis and we decided to celebrate her birthday dinner at Porch and Parlor...what we had been told was one of the best restaurants in Memphis. And we were quite pleased with our choice...the dinner, service and ambience was all a five star experience. We started off with some bread and cocktails...both were excellent. For our entree...we both ordered the six ounce Wagyu filet accompanied by sides of mac and cheese and collard greens. Steaks were served at the perfect temp and very tender and tasty...and both the mac and collards were very flavorful. The service was beyond exceptional...our server Aiden was amazing...and even the manager stopped in to see how we were doing. Because it was the wife's birthday we also were treated with a delicious cream cake...so good. We were both very pleased with both of our meals and the experience...great spot for a nice dinner in Memphis!

She carried this review up to the 3 I'm giving Non-Vintage. First of all, there was a severe deficiency of seating and staff for this event. No one greeted us when we entered, we moved chairs ourselves to make an accommodating space out of the way of the performers, and at no point did a member of staff take our order outside of waiting at the bar. The line for the bar was right in the way of the performers, and many people were forced to wait 10+ minutes for a drink order because there was only one bartender working. Another staff member had offered to help, and the bartender DECLINED, forcing us to continue to wait. I did try the wings and the charcuterie, they were good. I tried the nonalcoholic hibiscus drink and the nonalcoholic summer cooler drink. The summer cooler was much better in my opinion, but both were good nonalcoholic options. I think I would like to try this place when they are not hosting an event, I'm sure it's lovely when they are staffed appropriately for the shift. However, I was sorely disappointed tonight being forced to wait nearly an hour at the bar, missing parts of the show and on my feet for just a drink.

I had a fantastic espresso martini and the best brussel sprouts I've ever tasted! So I was excited to come try something else. On the plus side, the bathroom was so nicely decorated. It was also very clean. I sat at the end of the bar, beside the little section of books. The bartender was nice. I ordered the Ember&Passion cocktail. Although it was pretty good, it was quite mild. Unexpected with the ingredients in it. I was surprised that the level of expected heat was not very detectable. I give it 7/10. When I came here before in the winter, the temperature was perfect and I don't remember being too bothered that they don't have cocktail napkins. But yesterday it was quite warm in the restaurant and not having these napkins wasn't good. Nobody in the restaurant had any type of napkin under any drink! I noticed that just like mine, every glass of water from every patron had a puddle of condensation under the glass. Each time I picked up my glass of water, it would drip onto my food and clothes. My two menus got so wet. I suppose they made this decision to save themselves a lot of money. As for the food: My parmesan truffle fries were excellent!! Hot, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked in the middle. Best I've had in a long time. The Alabama white sauce on the side was just your typical sauce. It tasted just like every other Alabama white sauce that I've had so was not disappointing. But I actually ended up not using it because it was too thin and it didn't add anything to the fries. The fries were excellent enough on their own. I ordered my burger "pink" but there wasn't any pink to it, but I wasn't that bothered about it. Burger and the toppings were tasty, except for the fried green tomato. Looking closely at the picture, you can see that it was SO SMALL compared to the size of the burger. When a restaurant does that, don't they realize that it makes for a glaring disappointment?! It apparently came from near the end of the tomato, and not the middle. If you are going to offer a fried green tomato on a burger, then I feel as if you should only use the larger slices of the tomato, and save the smaller ends for maybe putting in salads. I've always been obsessed with fried green tomatoes. After having my first two bites of burger and still not reaching the tomato, I took it off to eat by itself. Sadly, it tasted terrible! I was surprised. Obviously, they didn't season the tomato or the batter. (Salt and pepper go a long way.) The burger toppings apparently made the tomato batter not only soggy, but also this strange thick texture. Like mushy and chewy at the same time. 1/10 Worst problem: FLIES!!! So many flies! When I just had my drink but no food yet, I noticed them but was not bombarded by them at that point. It wasn't until my food came. All of a sudden I was literally surrounded by them. They were everywhere! No exaggeration. I actually had to use only one hand to eat and the other hand to constantly move back and forth over my food. I eventually gave up and set the plate of some of my fries about 4 inches in front of my burger in order to hopefully draw the flies to the fries so that I could eat my burger. Unfortunately, after only four bites of my burger, when I set it down to take a drink of water, a fly landed on it within one second. Obviously, that was my last bite, and even when I was moving the plate closer to the end of the counter, two more flies landed on it. The glass of straws was inches from me. That, and the book closest to me seemed to be where they gathered to wait for their opportunity to dive bomb me. So many of them! It turned my stomach when I realized that I had been drinking from a straw with my water and I'm sure there had been flies on it before I got there. Every person that gets a straw in their drink at this restaurant has had a fly sitting on top of it. When the bartender told me about the desserts, it turned my stomach to think of just how many flies were in the kitchen. Had I known the fly situation was that bad when I first got my drink, I would have never stayed there, and I certainly would have never ordered food. I do think it is a real shame because the winter months are a totally different experience in that restaurant. But because of how horrible it was this time, I just can't ever come back.
