The best service I have ever experienced, great food, drinks and service. Highly recommend coming here!!

I had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever encountered at The Orleans in the Ville. I was a server and bartender all through college, so I am usually very easy to please. We arrived at 4:15 PM and were the only table in the restaurant, yet service was unbelievably slow from the start. It took over ten minutes just to receive drinks. Shortly after, another table was seated and the server suddenly spent a remarkable time at that table (roughly ten minutes?) and then she took their order first. After waiting about 30 minutes, our food finally arrived and it was completely unacceptable. Everything was cold, greasy, and nothing about it resembled authentic Cajun cuisine. The crawfish tails were clearly microwaved and served on a bland bed of rice. The children's mac and cheese was especially bad--dry, unappetizing, and obviously had been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long. My boyfriend had his dish to the side, untouched and was trying to get anyone's attention to come by. The server did not return for another 15 minutes to check on the food. To make matters worse, when we asked to speak with a manager/owner, they refused to come to the table. Instead, we were told, "The manager said to just remove it from your bill." That level of disregard for customers is incredibly unprofessional and disappointing. I honestly don't understand how they expect to stay open. A service industry business that you refuse to treat seriously? Ridiculous. The service throughout the entire visit was just as poor. Our server was rude, inattentive, and spent most of the time avoiding tables, either hiding behind the kitchen door or standing at the server station. We ultimately had to get up ourselves just to pay. Overall, the experience was frustrating from beginning to end. I ordered the country fried steak and gravy with 1 piece of fish. The country fried steak was overcooked to the point it tasted burnt. The fish tasted fishy and dark. You could tell that the grease definitely need to be changed. The black-eyed peas had a burnt taste to them, and you could tell they were old from the day before. This review is based on 2 visits (gave them a second chance), but unfortunately it wasn't a great one. The food lacked flavor and felt overpriced for what was served. They says it Cajun food, NO far from it , still just a old burger/fried place and even then that's sub par. The bar service was also a letdown, as the bartender (the blonde) came across as dismissive rather than attentive. This is only my third time here! Me and the bestie wanted a girls day! We drove by and decided to come sit on the patio! As soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiles! We wanted to sit on the patio and it got a little cold and the owner and her sweet husband came out and brought a heater for us and also offered us a blanket! I was asking about some of the food and they brought out the best samples of the gumbo and jambalaya! This has been the best experience! If you haven't been here you should really try it! First visit.. but as far as I can tell the negative reviews are not accurate ... to say the least. I got lunch take out with a co-worker and we were both impressed. The Thursday meatloaf was great and the vegetables were on point. The green beans were a tad bland for my liking but everybody has different recipes so no big deal. My co-worker got the grilled pork chop. Grilled pork is hard to do correctly and they did it perfectly. Great seasoning and perfectly cooked. We also split an order of fried mushrooms. I came twice to make sure I hadn't just picked the wrong food... but no. I see a lot of people complaining about the wait time and that was pretty long, but the killer for me is the food. It's just bad. To be honest, the only thing I found that was good here was the cheese dip, which neither my husband nor my friend really cared for. I love it because it's thick and though it looks small, the bowl is deep so you actually get a ton. So I would definitely recommend that. I did notice the chips were chewy though. They brought us a new round but it does make me wonder if they use special chips for the nachos or if you could end up with chewy nachos. Something to consider. But I can't recommend anything else. When my husband and I visited, we got burgers. They were the saddest burgers I had ever seen. They literally came with the meat and lettuce. We had asked for mayo on the side but no tomato? Nothing else? It was bizarre. Also, my husband's burger patty was noticeably burned. My chicken patty was fine but tasteless. When I went with my friend, her chicken tenders also seemed burned. Horribly understaffed...owner was present but did absolutely NOTHING to help the ONE server who was working his butt off to try to take care of people. When asked why it took over 45 mins to get a cup of Jambalaya-we were told they have to make it...anyone who knows Jambalaya knows you dont make it every time; it has to cook for quite a while. I was so excited to try it and so disappointed. To start....the bartender had to wait on us bc only one server was there. It took 1 hour to bring 2 meals. Blackened chicken pasta was awful. Not blackened just grilled. No seasoning and I think jarred Alfredo sauce. Husband had the trio and we weren't sure which was the jumbo and which was jambalaya. That's crazy. I was here for lunch with a group and had a great experience. Food was fresh and came out timely. The server was exceptional.

First and last time there. Was so excited to go. Waitress was brand new could not tell us anything about the menu or food kept running to kitchen to ask questions. My red beans and rice was horrible. When she took it back to kitchen she said , loudly , well , we don't cook it here. They did take it off the ticket.The other food was mediocre.I guess because they don't cook it there. The number one thing was the bathrooms. 2 stalls both had poop all over them. One had no toilet paper probably why it had poop on it. The other one just as bad but had toilet paper. I eating my weight in gumbo in my lifetime...if you want a true authentic dark roux gumbo then you are going to be in heaven. We were handed a menu for Rock House Live and a single page Grand Opening Menu for Orleans. The food was just ok. The service was close to ok. It was very confusing - what is this place? So the food hasn't improved in a year, but the real criminals here are the waitresses. Service is not just poor, it's nonexistent. You have to actively beg for each drink. The blonde we had tonight didn't come back to check on us at all the whole night. It's not that busy. Empty drink cups all over the table, not one "Can I get you a refill". Very subpar - food is just bad, the ambiance is even worse, I can not tell if this use to be a house or bad design. I won't be returning for several reasons, the main one is staff - rude and they just dont seem to care about service. You also have to be carful , the bartenders will add drinks to your bill that you never ordered. I drink Bourbon, I will never drink a white tea or Scotch so shouldnt be on my bill - this has happened more than once and i have only been there twice. Even my wife said best way to fix this place is to demolish it and start over with a new staff - does the owner even know what goes on here - if he did , that staff would be fired, this is a customer service industry - teach your employes to do what they are hired to do, servie and dont get grummpy with customer becuase you messed up! read more

Waitresses constantly passed us and wouldn't make eye contact (assumption is we weren't in their section and if they made eye contact they might actually have to help us). Once seated, we waited 20 minutes before asking the man mopping the floors if we could get a waitress. Had to walk up to the bar to order soft drinks. Once waitress arrived, we ordered burgers, wings, and nachos. The nachos literally had cheese on ONE chip. We never saw our waitress after taking our order so we could never find anyone to ask for more cheese. We had to go to the bar AFTER we got our food to ask for napkins and silverware. We realize a new place has kinks to work out so we are willing to make allowances. We were ignored upon arrival, but finally recognized after a few interactions. Our server was OK, but when I asked about the wedge salad advertised online she was unaware. I opted for the regular salad and the spouse got a rice bowl. We were both disappointed. The salad was bagged greens with a few additions, bagged croutons and bottled dressing. The spouse's rice bowl didn't have enough sauce and said the guacamole was not appetizing. There was nothing good at all. The salads, sandwiches, and quesadillas were just awful. The restroom was filthy. One stall in the women's room was overflowing and the other was disgusting. This could really be a great place in Collierville if they just cleaned up and focused on a great burger, sandwiches, and wings. The music was too loud but I could get past that. Pulled pork sandwich cold. Spicy chicken sandwich not spicy. Queso was a red-ish color that tasted like ketchup was in it. There is no drink menu. Waitress could not recommend a good cocktail. Live music is too loud to hold a conversation over. They leave patio door open which causes cigarette smoke inside. Won't be back and wouldn't recommend.
