Big Kahuna regular size with provolone. $8.49 plus tax.

This is a small location right off of Business 17 in Myrtle Beach. It's next door to a Starbucks and Craft Taco, and also very close to a brand new McDonald's that just opened. Lots of parking out front with one online order only dedicated spot directly in front of the main door. There's maybe 10 or so tables inside and a relatively limited selection of soda's (only Diet Pepsi is offered for example), though they do have one Sobe choice as well as vanilla cream soda. Refills on drinks are free and are do it yourself. I do enjoy some of the subs offered by this chain, but I really don't eat at Jersey Mike's much because it doesn't offer a ton of fast food value. A regular size Big Kahuna (Philly cheesesteak with shrooms) is $8.49 plus tax and it's only about 8 inches in length. It is made to order so it's served hot and melty and all, but still, after tax you're looking at over 9 bucks for a small fast food sub. That ain't exactly cheap. They only offer white and wheat bread in case you've never been to a Jersey Mike's location. I've only frequented this location one time, but as I spoke with both of the two employees here, I found each to be quite friendly and accommodating and the store to be clean. Not sure if they have WiFi or not as my phone just automatically connects to the Starbucks next door. Tip: download their app and sign up for their loyalty/customer program and they'll email you a link for a free regular sub and soda that you can use for 1 year following your birthday. They just scan it at the register. I've been redeeming it for several years now without issue. And so with that, you get over 10 bucks worth of Jersey Mike's for free!

However, now that we've gone multiple times i can confidently say it is rather inconsistent. Sometimes your burrito is swimming in an amazing cover of cheese and sometimes is a little more than a drizzle. This latest time something must have been a little off because my tried and true Al Pastor burrito came with 95% rice inside... I don't think I saw any beans and only a few pieces of meat. Again - this is not the norm and my great experiences outweighed this last visit, but consistency in the long run will be important. I'd also agree with the reviews saying they like to charge for upsells and they are pretty good at pushing them. I love their house hot sauce but paying a dollar for hot sauce at a Mexican restaurant seems a bit absurd... Overall worth a try and we will continue coming back but there is some fine tuning for management!

I subtracted two stars because on each of my trips here, the service has pretty much sucked. Both times our party was basically totally forgotten about...no refills on chips or waters and we had to go off elsewhere inside to flag someone down simply to get and then pay our bill. Unfortunately, this consistent shoddy service keeps me from returning in the future. Oh well, lots of other happy hours in Myrtle to enjoy, like Sol y Luna in Carolina Forest.

The first Cook Out restaurant opened in Greensboro, NC in 1989. They opened their first non-NC store in SC in 2010, and has continued to grow till now reaching over 360 locations around the South. All their ground beef is delivered fresh to each store, adhering to their motto of "Always Fresh, Never Frozen". We visited this location, in the heart of the tourist zone in Myrtle Beach. Only their drive-thru and walk-up are open, with their dining room continuing to be closed (though they have a few picnic tables in their parking lot). They are known for their burgers and milkshakes, a formula used by practically every successful burger shack. Their combo meals are called 'trays', so we got two regular trays. First ($7.99) consisted of a Big Dbl with grilled onions and cheese (+0.55), added tomato (+0.10). The sides were white cheddar bites (tasted similar to fried cheese curds) and fries (skin-on). I upgraded the beverage from a soda to a Oreo Mint Shake (+1.50). Added a side of hush puppies for $1.99. Second ($7.99) was 3 chicken strips, cole slaw, and onion rings with peanut butter fudge upgrade (+1.50). It didn't take too long for the order to completed, bringing it back to eat in our kitchenette back at the resort. It was plenty of food, with the burger being exactly how I like it. The shakes were very thick, and easily savable for later...we ate it like ice cream. All the rest were solid, with generous portions...it's what you would expect from any cafeteria that has a good deep fryer, very good for the price. The cole slaw was just finely diced cabbage which added some needed fiber to the meal. And the hush puppy pieces were very dense, two were plenty for me...it's the ultimate cheap filler food.
