Came back to visit after several years and still feel the same: really good bagels and got 2 savory bagels and a sugar bagel for my friend and I for less than $20??? In 2025?? Oh yea this will be a breakfast spot I'll go to at least once while I'm visiting Myrtle Beach?

    Love me some LOX!!!
    John J.

I have probably eaten here 10 times in the last 5 years. When I go to an event in Myrtle Beach. I make a point of going to The bagel factory. I did a Yelp search prior to my last visit and found other bagel locations with better ratings but could not believe they were better than the bagel factory. I have to say this place never disappoints. I live in Charleston and there are no bagels even comparable to The bagel so I can get in Myrtle Beach. I was a little disappointed that I could not get a bialy. I ordered an everything bagel toasted with a smear of cheese and lox. It was absolutely delicious. The staff were very accommodating + friendly.

amazing neighborhood bagel shop that offers counter service with tables to sit at. Staff was friendly and locals were as well. Food was excellent and there was an abundant amount.

The service was quick and to the point . The order taker has been there for years you can tell . The bagels we ordered weren't ready so we had to wait and we didn't mind they were fresh and delicious . We would come here again one of the cheapest breakfast we had while in Myrtle Beach.

    Not worth it

The parking lot sucks, poor design. You need to get the paper menu in the same line to order. I ordered pumpernickel w/ salmon and capers and she asked would you like some tomatoes w/ that? I said yes (without knowing she charged me .52 for it) The seating area it's not cozy or very clean. My Bagel came OVERLOADED w/ Cream Cheese like I could barely taste the rest of it. Moreover it was more expensive than what is worth.

Food is good. However every time I come here, which is often, they have always run out of onion bagels!! I originally want a dozen but when I found out no onion AGAIN, I reduced my order to 8 bagels After I was rung up and paid I questioned the cost $13 for 8 bagels I was told it would have cost less if I had ordered a dozen!! I would have gladly added 4 bagels of a different flavor To save a bit of money. Poor customer service from the employee who comes across very indifferent. she appears friendlier to those she knows by name. Time to assess the Business model

I came here with my father. My dad got a everything bagel one with pastrami egg and cheese 8.5/10. I got an everything bagel with regular cream cheese and I have braces so they were kind enough to cut up my bagel 10/10. We got our food in less than 10 minutes. The service is a definite 10.5/10. The place was clean and there was a sugar store right next to the place so the smell was amazing!!!!

Bacon, egg, cheese on everything bagel with chives cream cheese!

They were out of most of their bagels by the time we got there. We ordered: The Ricky Bobby - was very good, probably the best thing we had. Was supposed to come on a bagel, but my friend had to get it on sourdough instead. It was good regardless. Austin's special - This was pretty much just eggs on a bagel. Nothing special, but not bad. It might've been better but it was nerfed by the fact that that I had to have it on a wheat bagel and that I asked for no sausage. The sauce had very little flavor, I had to add my own salt, ketchup, and hot sauce. Probably would have needed more acid even if I got it without the modifications. Spinach and feta croissant - Not great. The croissant was not light or fluffy and the filling lacked flavor. Not much feta despite the name. Raspberry and cream danish and cinnamon roll- We could have gotten something similar at Costco or a grocery store bakery. My friends got coffee which they said was very good, some of the best they've had in the area. I can see this place being good, but you have to come early or on an off day to have access to the full menu and avoid long wait times. Otherwise you will have a middling experience. It was clear the kitchen was struggling to keep up.

Google Maps will be helpful as far as navigation. They have lots of free parking in a lot out front and the bakery counter is just down the main hallway entrance, on the left hand side of the hallway. It's just after the Fowler formal dining room. So, since it's student run, prices are reasonable and tax is included in every price/purchase. It's not open on Fridays or weekends, but is generally open 8 am to 4 pm Mon through Thurs. They do have some hallway seating available as well. And they do a limited selection of coffee drinks too. It's mostly sweet baked goods that are available and they offer both vegan and gluten free options too. Expect to see cookies, moon pies, possibly biscuits, chocolates, lots of pastries and maybe even a mini cheesecake or two. Seems like both students and professors work the counter and they will of course answer any questions you have regarding ingredients. I'd say on a typical morning they'll have a solid 25 to 35 different things you can potentially buy. I love that everything is made by students and that any profit they earn goes right back into their own culinary program. They don't really restock during the day, so its first come, first served and items like croissants and pain du chocolat can go quick. Both are very good and reasonably priced at 2 dollars each. They also rotate things in and out based on what they're working on in class...like one day they might have chocolate eclairs for sale, but the next day they don't. I've yet to see them offer donuts but they do plenty of chocolate items. One of my favorites is the death by brownie at 3 dollars. The chocolate mousse inside is sooo good. Moon pies are enormous and are like 2 to 3 bucks. Cookies like snickerdoodle, oatmeal, chocolate chunk, etc. are 50 cents each and are very good sized for that price. I did include pics of their case from my last visit, but I'm sorry for the poor quality. You can also look them up on Facebook and follow them as they sometimes do special events like a bbq fundraiser on a Saturday or custom order chocolates for Valentines Day. They'll also announce if they are going to be closed for a certain reason. These students are producing very good quality items at very good prices. They also do homemade breads on Thursdays after 2 PM only. Great stuff. Check them out, but keep it on the down low...I want my favorite items to still be there when I visit late in the day!!

But, I couldn't help using an exceptional exclamation to emphasize what an incredible discovery I had yesterday! I happened to find Leve on-line while looking for a baked treat nearby (I'm visiting Coastal Carolina University). Leve is tucked in an unusual spot, in more of an industrial zone (less than 5 minutes from CCU, just across 501). But, make no mistake, it is a quaint little shop that can boast of award winning scones (a huge variety of delicious flavors), croissants (the chocolate ones rival the best I tasted on a recent trip to Paris) and sourdough breads that will make you wish you had found Leve even sooner! Not to mention the personable, friendly and proud owners (the chefs themselves) who are only too happy to assist you and chat with you in between waves of customers (almost all who have discovered Leve through word of mouth)! Here's your chance to get in the know! I assure you that you will be back for more and telling your friends about Leve! Bon appetit!

I actually thought I walked into the wrong place because it looked so different. Assuming they noticed the confusion on my face, the owner says 'you must've been here on Saturday. We only have that selection of baked goods on Saturdays, if you watched the video it clearly explains that.' I was completely taken aback and to this day, have no idea what video he's referring to. I picked a couple items of whatever was available, then chose the olive garlic bread. As I said it out loud, the owner says 'it's OLIVES bread.' Embarrassed that I read the name from the label incorrectly, I again had no idea what he was talking about, it clearly states OLIVE GARLIC SOURDOUGH. He must've noticed my confusion again and explained how it's actual pieces of olives in the bread and not olive oil. I told him I knew it was olives and he said that some customers think it's 'olive oil'. Anyway, I spent $46 and probably won't return because I felt awful after that experience. It doesnt take away from the quality or taste of the products, but the professionalism was lacking.

There are only a few tables, but they aren't cramped. You order at the counter and just take a seat, and your food and drinks will be served to you. I'd guess there's only two people working here on a random weekday. Expect your food to take a bit, but it's completely fresh, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were large but balanced. I often can't finish sweet crepes due to getting sugar'd out. This one felt very focused on the fruit and allowing the Nutella to take a passenger, enhancing vibe instead. Omelette was cheese-central. I might ask for lighter cheese next time, but it was ridiculously delicious too. Croissants were SUPER light and fluffy, and they get served warm for you. Really tasty, perfectly baked. Bathroom was a single unisex room and older, but it was clean. Two booths that'll seat four people as well as multiple two-person tables with wooden, no-armed chairs. No stairs, and while it'd be a tight fit, a wheelchair could fit in here. (I don't think the bathroom is wheelchair accessible, though.) The guy running the place wasn't super friendly, but he wasn't *unfriendly*, and he was very efficient. He also popped in to see if we needed things and was there to deliver silverware and other things before we asked for them. If staff reads this: please replace/update the folded, faded paper signs on the outside of the building. That's part of why we haven't given this place a try in so long - and I'm sad we hadn't!
