Pumpernickel with butter; and strawberry jelly and onion with lox spread
Kelly R.

This shop has a nice selections of bagels and toppings, bagel sandwiches,as well as pastries. there is plenty of space to eat in, but we decided to take ours to go. The bagels were truly East Coast style bagels meaning they were crisp on the outside and tender in the middle. They even have lox and lox spread. Hubby had an onion bagel with lox spread, and I had a pumpernickel bagel with butter and jelly. The muffins looked amazing; I might try those next time. Staff was also very friendly and food came out promptly incorrectly.

A little lacking on half the sandwich.

Food was hit and miss. Being a Jersey guy anyplace with Taylor Ham is a bonus! Bagels anywhere other then NY/NJ are lacking. These bagels were decent. Garlic had plenty of garlic as did the everything with seasonings. Cinnamon Raisin w/cream cheese was a little light in the cream cheese but bagel had enough cinnamon flavor. A miss was the taylor ham on my sandwich My wife's had 3 slices, mine 2 and only on 3/4 of the sandwich. I did return the next day and bought bagels only and cream cheese. I brought TH from home(Jersey guy that I am!) Service was good both time. Efficient and welcoming. Will go back when in town.

Excellent, chewy bagels. Lots of good flavors. Decent fresh coffee (nothing fancy). Excellent prompt friendly service. Early hours starting at 6:30.

Moldy bagel

MOLD on Salted bagel. Bagels are supposed to be made fresh each day. Obviously, if there's mold, they are recycling old bagels. Mold is airborne and microscopic, so all bagels in the bag had to be thrown out. Disgusting and Dangerous. I will never buy from them again!

lox on a plain bagel (to go)

I frequent here everytime I am in the area, mainly because it is the only bagel place around in NMB and one of the only places to get lox. Their bagel sandwiches are decent, they do the job, but it's nothing special. My favorite thing to get here is a sausage egg and cheese on a toasted bagel. I would avoid lunch foods, my family and I have tried the italian hoagie and one of the paninis here and we weren't huge fans- definitely better sandwich options around. If you come after 10:30 am, the bagel selections are very limited. Prices are decent, and staff is nice although they appear to be short staffed, so thank you to the staff that are working!

Good place to go for bagels. Had their carrot cake muffin and it was really good. Husband said his cookie was tasty. Would go again.

Great bagels ! Too bad they are an hour away. But if you're in the neighborhood, definitely some of the best in SC.

We just visited for the 2nd time and realized I never posted a review from our first visit…read more 1st visit we sat at one of the pub top tables by the bar with all the TVs over it. Our wait staff was Makenzie and she was great! We had fried pickles as an appetizer. Came out quick and breaded just right. I had the Cheeseburger Sliders Basket - 3 mini burgers topped with American cheese, mustard, ketchup and pickles. Served with a French fries and coleslaw. My daughter had the Caribbean Jerk Chicken Sub - grilled chicken breast cubed and sautéed with onions, banana peppers, jerk seasonings and melted Provolone cheese. Served on a sub roll with lettuce and homemade pineapple cilantro salsa with pub chips. 2nd visit- It has been about 2 months from our first visit. We were at a booth this time. We had a tv designated just for our booth. The TVs are number and you can have them change the channel for your table. Our one of the large TVs if you don't have your own tv. I had the Gamecock - grilled chicken sandwich topped with bacon, melted Provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and ranch dressing on a brioche bun. Very good sandwich. My husband had the French Dip - roast beef and Provolone cheese baked on a sub roll with caramelized onions and served with au jus. Bobby was our server. He was attentive and nice. Good food in a clean sports bar.

This was my first visit to Dagwood's in North Myrtle Beach. I stopped in after 8 p.m. on a Monday,…read moreso I realize late evenings on a weeknight can feel a little different from peak hours. I was greeted quickly and directed to a seat at the bar. The same staff member soon brought me water and poured a 10-ounce Dirty Myrtle IPA, a local double IPA on tap. She made sure I knew it was a smaller pour, which I appreciated. The beer itself was very good. After getting a menu, I ordered the fish and chips, which is usually my go-to when trying a pub for the first time. The plate looked great when it arrived: four large pieces of fried cod (enough for two people, really), fries, a big pickle spear, two cups of tartar sauce, and coleslaw. The coleslaw deserves special mention. It was excellent--honestly one of the best I've had anywhere. Fresh, balanced, and really flavorful. The fish arrived hot and the first bite was very good: flaky cod with a crisp exterior. As I worked further into it, though, I realized the batter was thicker than I personally prefer. Instead of a light, crispy coating, it was heavier and softer underneath the crust, and as the fish cooled that became more noticeable. The fries were decent but seemed like they had been sitting under heat for a bit. Not bad, just not as hot and crisp as they could have been. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, and it seems like a good place to meet friends or catch a game. Service at the bar was polite but fairly minimal, and my total was just over $27 for the beer and fish and chips, which felt a little high for the overall depth of the meal. Overall, it was a mixed experience: good vibe, great coleslaw, decent fish, but not quite a standout meal for me. I'll likely give Dagwood's another try and explore other items on the menu. And when I do, I'll definitely order that coleslaw again.

Cape Fear Seafood Company is located in a strip shopping center…read more Food was very good, and service was excellent. The restaurant decor was what you'd typically see at a seafood restaurant. I had fried jumbo shrimp which were not listed on the menu as a platter, but our waitress (Grace) was glad make the exception. My husband ordered the fresh catch salmon with mango salsa. Sides were: green beans with roasted tomatoes, sautéed spinach and risotto cakes. Everything was very good and Grace kept our tea glasses full. When I'm in the area I'll definitely stop in some of their delicious food!

We came to this restaurant for dinner after our fishing trip. This place was recommended by the man…read morewho took us on our fishing tour. It seemed very "busy" for an early Monday evening around 5:20/6pm. It had quite a few customers but also many empty tables inside. We wanted to sit inside but were told they were holding tables for reservations. So our only option was to sit outside or to wait over 20 minutes. We were very hungry so we sat outside. Our waitress came out and greeted us and was very nice and answered all our questions. We had a table on the far right of the patio. Outside was hot and there were little small gnats flying around. We ordered the mussels in a wine sauce for appetizers. And OMG when the food came out the gnats swarmed in on us and it was worse! We could not enjoy the food because we were in a constant battle. We complained to the waitress. And we wound up moving to another table closer to the door (still outside in the opposite side because we still were told there were no tables inside). It was a better but gnats were still there. The food, however, was really good and would have been even better without fighting bugs. The mussels were cooked perfectly and the sauce it was in was delicious! We were almost licking the plate, but so I wouldn't look like a heathen, used the bread to wipe up the plate instead. The roasted red pepper crab bisque was also very good and I like that it had bigger lumps of crab in it. For my main course I had the fresh catch of the day that came with a lemon sauce, mango salsa and risotto. I am not a fan of asparagus so I was allowed to substitute for spinach. The dish was so delicious! I was happy with the taste and quality of the food. A manager just so happened to round on us while we were eating and we told her our complaints about the gnats. She was very understanding and offered us a free dessert or to take some money off the bill. When the waitress came back she asked us what dessert we wanted complimentary. We wondered why the manager gave us both options, but we didn't actually get to choose what we really wanted which was the money off the bill. We were really full and didn't have room for the dessert. Rather than protesting, we just chose a dessert to go, but unfortunately forgot to eat it because we had to pack for our early morning flight. My review would have been 5 stars for the service and food if it wasn't for those pesky bugs outside. I don't know why there was so many out there.

Took our beverage orders, returned quickly with those and water. She told us the specials which we passed on. Fred ordered fried oysters platter, I ordered an à la carte crab cake and oysters Rockefeller. Our food arrived quickly. Fried oysters were plentiful and crispy. House made chips were crunchy and delicious. My crab cake was wonderful - as close to a Maryland crab cake as I've had in a long time. Lump crab, very little bread crumbs, pan fried and served with a dollop of hollandaise. It needed some Old Bay seasoning. The Rockefeller Oysters were delicious. Plump oysters topped with spinach and Hollandaise. They need a splash of Pernod and would be 5 star. We split a piece of house made peanut butter pie for dessert. It wasn't good. Way too sweet and very soupy. Tasted like a cool whip recipe. Our tab was reasonable and we left our server a generous tip. We recommended the restaurant to numerous people we knew back at the hotel. I'd definitely return!
