Stopped here on a whim. Up from Myrtle Beach for an errand. The place was packed. You need to maneuver road traffic to get there but don't let that keep you away. Very pleasant staff. Answered questions. Definitely a locals kind of sweet place. The sandwich was top notch. Got chicken cutlet sub. Hot. Crispy chicken. Plenty toppings. Nice seating area. Get your own refills. I'm from NY and love Reuben sandwiches and a great local deli. I also got 3 desserts to try- a half moon cookie (black and white), pumpkin bread pudding, and a Bavarian cream turnover. All 3 were incredible. I'm craving that bread pudding right now. The custard was like pumpkin pie filling and it had a strudel type topping and glaze. The turnover was like a Napoleon which is one of my favs. The Reuben was average. The meat was tasty but I like more of a sour kick to mine so more sauerkraut or Russian would have helped. I also prefer marble rye bread. The sandwich was a touch greasy in the outside. Still, I'd definitely eat here again and want to try their homemade sub rolls. I also saw many other bakery treats that looked delicious. The service was very friendly and it was a welcoming little cafe with a wide variety of options for sandwiches. Update- the sub sandwiches are 5/5 stars! The roll was fresh and it reminded me of when my dad used to make sub sandwiches and we'd go on a picnic when I was younger. I also had the chocolates chip milk cake and it might have become one of my new favorite cakes. I'm going to stalk the Facebook specials posts to see when it's offered again. read more

I tried Little River Deli for breakfast while vacationing in the area. The restaurant is rather spartan, with a spotless deli area and a small dining room. The dining room was on the grungy side with disgusting carpet (at least I think it was carpet) in desperate need of replacement. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. You order and pay at the counter. Someone brings your meal to the table, then you are supposed to bus your own table, unless they aren't too busy and then they clean it for you. We both tried the Italian Omelette. My omelette, although served hot off the grill, just wasn't as good as the description on the menu board sounded. The Italian sausage was more like a kielbasa with Italian seasonings than what I know as an Italian sausage. It was also very greasy and oozing with oil. I ate about half of it and gave up. The home fries looked great, but were bland. Prices were average and of course they wanted a tip, although it's essentially counter service. There are enough brunch places in the area that offer better food and full service to make it unlikely that we will return. read more

I love supporting local when I'm on vacation. Little River Deli is an absolute gem. We shared the Jersey breakfast sandwich and an onion bagel with veggie cream cheese. Amazing! I got a pound of macaroni salad to take home to go with grilled burgers tonight. So delicious and so reasonable. I was blown away at the prices of their ready made refrigerated meals to go. If you are driving along SC-9 near Little River and you blink, you will miss an amazing little NY style deli. It is definitely a hole in the wall type restaurant but these are always some of the best places to eat. I got the traditional reuben which was really good. The corned beef was very lean and the sauerkraut was perfect. I upgraded from the house made fries to the onion rings and felt they could have spent maybe a couple more minutes in the fryer as there were a couple where the batter was towards the soft side. The hubs got the roast beef melt and upgraded his side to french fries. If you love horseradish, you will love this sandwich. Thankfully the hubs does and he loved it. The french fries were perfect as far as crispiness goes which can be so hit or miss at restaurants even when you ask for them to be crispy. This is definitely a place we will be adding to the "gotta get there when we are there next" list whenever we are in Myrtle Beach. read more

Amazing food! We just moved to Myrtle Beach and were out exploring the area and found Liver River Deli on Yelp. OMG-so happy we stopped! The service was outstanding! We took our food to go because of our 2 little kids. But we cannot wait to come back and eat there. I had the Jumbo Club and my husband had the Reuben, both were phenomenal, even after a 18min drive home. We also bought a container of their Buffalo Chicken Dip to heat up for later and it's to die for! We haven't even gotten into the container of Baked Ziti yet or Pepperoni Roll, but we have no doubt it will be just as delicious. We had made another trip to the beach and my wife really had a craving to eat at Little River Deli.(me to).We decided to eat lunch on our way out of the beach on Monday.Naturally it's 12ish and it's a small place with a decent amount of people.Folks get orders to go and being a pretty day in February some folks sitting outside eating to.She got a chicken wrap and a cup of pasta salad.I have never had anything bad before so my choice was their Ruben with hot chips.Little River Deil even offered some a choice that day of meatloaf or crusted pork chops and a couple of veggies.The meatloaf looks great Boars head Meats you know your sub or sandwich or salad I'd going to be good.My wife enjoyed her chicken wrap and pasta salad.My Rubin was definitely the best I've ever had.We learned while eating that the a young lady working there had become the new owner.Don't pass this little spot up.Waiting on our next trip. read more

Bring back the good BAGELS! Got a couple bagels today and was very disappointed. They used to buy their bagels from Bagel Dock in Calabash. These days I'm not sure where they are getting them but it's a huge downgrade. My bagel today was refrigerator cold. ( I like mine untoasted). It was like eating a Lenders Bagel from the fridge. Not good. The bagels from Publix Bakery are far better. I understand this is a deli, not a bagel shop, but bread makes a deli. read more
