I was not satisfied with my meal, but the staff were really nice and attentive and the restaurant seemed very clean except the windows and glass doors?!? Or am I the only crazy person noticing those things? Might just be a pet peeve of mine, but it's the first thing noticeable to me walking in. I would come back and give their traditional breakfast a try but they fell really short on the Huevos Rancheros. The presentation was beautiful but the taste was not there and the food was cold to the bite. First time here, we were in town for a weekend trip and ate breakfast on the last day. From us sitting down to eating and paying the bill was 30-45 mins. Elsa was a joy to be served by and got us our food very quickly. Food was hot and portion sizes were generous. Pancakes were great and the Greek omelette was chef's kiss. The beignets were fresh , soft and savory . They came with a cinnamon butter and jelly that were the perfect pairing almost ordered some to go ... My Salmon Benedict exceeded expectation . Could have been warmer but I ignored it because it was good. I highly recommend eating the Benedict with the capers and pickled onions it provide a great contrast of flavors. Very unhappy with our visit to this place. The food is overpriced for the quality I received. Their hash tasted like those seasoned bags of potatoes you buy at Walmart and oddly their fried beignets were over fried and had a taste similar to the fried hash served to us. The skillet was soooooo, the sauce was out of this world, flavor explosion with all the veggies, egg, seasoning, potatoes, avocado. Omg sooo good!!!! Also ordered pancakes and the nutella crepe. Super delicious, soft pancakes with great syrup. We came here with our friends as well and they enjoyed their meal. The prices were very reasonable and definitely worth it. I've literally eaten here 3 times in the last month and it's been amazing every time! We usually sit at the bar and I believe (Destiny takes care of us) we are from Columbia and this quickly became our favorite! Traditional corn beef hash with eggs, grits and toast! Donald's is one of our favorite breakfast places while in Myrtle Beach. The food is good, we were there twice once it was am omelet and the other was a waffle. Both were very good better than many of the places in Myrtle we have eaten in. Which is interesting when one considers eggs are eggs and waffles are cheap to make. The only criticism we had was how the food was more like the corporate places than the personal locally owned places. The food was great! The service was absolutely awful!!!! She came by had so much perfume on made me cough. She took our order but when we got our food we got back instead of sausage patties my husband got bacon. She never once came to check on the food or if we needed more coffee. So we sat here trying to get her attention to get more coffee for both of us. We had to ask another waitress for a refill which our waitress brought back only to find she only brought maybe a 1/2 cup for one, stating they only have one pot that they are using and that's all they had. Great place for breakfast/brunch! Make sure you come to this place before 10 am because it gets busy! The food is excellent and timely. I got the egg white omelette with a side of fruit. They will gladly do substitutions which I appreciate. We ordered the crepe to split and it was so good but a little thicker than expected. They bring a small coffee pot to the table which is genius. It was thin crowded when we got there on a Sunday morning, but we found a seat quickly. The coffee was average. I ordered the bananas, Foster pancakes And hubby ordered fish and grits. His dish was really good. The grits were great. The eggs were so so. Be aware of that when they say to add cheese unless you ask for cheddar, they will put a cheese slice on top of your eggs. The bananas Foster was good however they made the sauce with bananas that were not ripe and were hard. Our waitress was very kind however she did not offer to come bananas Foster pancakes so we had to request the manager, take care of that. The turkey sausage was very very good. When you are looking for a good spot to eat breakfast and notice that every other restaurant is a pancake house forces you to go on Yelp and read every review. Well that's how we ended up here at Donald's because of Yelps great reviews, and let me tell you, Yelp did not disappoint your girl and my entire family. We had a late start and notice that it was closing in a hour so we rushed. When we walked in they had already started cleaning the floors and putting back the tables but they never rejected us and took us like it was normal business hours. I expected for them to say well the kitchen will be closing soon but that never happened. Our waitness name was Re ( I could be totally wrong and I'm so mad that I can't remember) she was phenomenal and made our dine in experience great. Everything on the menu looked amazing. The kids ordered Grilled Cheese and Pancakes, my husband ordered French toast, waffles, breakfast tacos, bacon and some other things that couldn't fit on our table. I ordered the fish and grits, biscuits with sausage gravy, pancakes and sausages. When I tell you that everything was delicious and cooked to perfection that we had no choice to come back the next day. We also ordered a coffee mug. Once we got our food We were very pleased! Pancakes were great with some crispy ends. The New Orleans style shrimp and grits were really good, this is my go to dish! I'd been here a couple years ago and as we left to travel back home I got some to go! There's so many to choose from I wasn't sure which one I had before, but I don't think it matters! Meh....I'm by no means a food snob, but am honestly amazed by the reviews for this place. I'm not sure if where folks are visiting from have no decent food available, or if they are in "vacation mode" and are just excited to be having breakfast out. I visited at 8:30, was quickly seated. Friendly server. Ordered meat lovers omelette, home fries and toast. Prices are on the higher side. $25 for one diner. Condiments are left to die on the table. No fresh cream or milk for your coffee. The sugar dispenser welcomed a spider into my burnt coffee. Bonus. The salt and pepper dispensers are "grinders" forcing you to have to handle them to the fullest extent, all while knowing they haven't been wiped down in years. It's 2023, do better. Food arrived quickly. Home fries were decent, just plain, unseasoned frozen potatoes. Topping them with the obviously refilled, sticky bottled and questionable hunts ketchup made them more palatable. The omelette was gross. All the meats are cubed, premade, flavorless squares of nothingness. Cheese? Non-existent. Other than shape/color, not one meat was recognizable in flavor or textures. It smelled of generic pan oil, giving the egg a glistening coating of unpleasant yuck. For the price, actual real, freshly prepared meat would be assumed. The toast was something out of a bag, coated in butter like substance, then stacked yielding soggy mush with two butter coated sides. This, combined with the intimate engagement with the salt/pepper, makes sure you will ingest every piece of bacteria on the table. I do want to end with that my sever was very nice and I truly mean no harm in my review. I just hope they do better and wanted to lend a factual review for others to make a more educated decision. read more
