Our family came here on vacation so we wanted to try something local. We wanted to like the food from the decent options they had and some of the positive reviews, but that was not the case. My husband had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes which were terribly salty and peppery. I had the fried chicken and potatoes. The chicken was super dry and whatever honey dust was on top did not make it better- it was spicy and just inedible. I even chose the non-spicy dust. As for my kids, who are toddlers, they split the chicken tenders. This is the first that has ever happened but their tenders were spicy like full blown. I fed my son a piece and him being nonverbal, he couldn't tell me it was spicy. My husband had initially tasted it for them and must've already had a lingering taste from his food and didn't think anything of it. But my daughter who is very verbal said it was spicy and sure enough when I tried it, it was. When I told the waitress it was spicy, her response was "oh yea it's spicy." And I was like, but it's a kids meal, why would it be spicy? The waitress at least got something else for my kids but still. We asked another waitress why it's made that way and she wasn't sure so she asked the kitchen. The kitchens response was "oh yea we get complaints about that all the time. Especially since the chicken is double breaded, with double the spice. The corporate office or whoever is in charge needs to change this recipe. This is not kid-friendly. I sat at the bar and got the frozen pumpkin spice French 75 and a small bowl of the pumpkin bisque. The frozen pumpkin spice French 75 is what caught my eye as I was walking by and pulled me in. It was unfortunately a little underwhelming in the flavor, but met expectations with the liquor (no skimping on that). It was a little touch to drink as shown in the picture out of a martini glass/coupe, so I asked for a straw. French 75s are usually served in a champagne glass, and not drank through a straw, nor frozen, so everything about the drink was just extremely unique. The pumpkin bisque was really good. Just WOW! I've lived in the market common area for 2 years and have never tried this place. I'm not sure why, but I regret not coming here sooner. My son and I sat outside. The hostess carried a highchair with her so I didn't have to wait for one at the table, which was nice. I had a cereal martini which was spectacular. I wish I would have gotten it as my second drink since it was sweeter, but omg it was so good. I also got the jalapeño/tequila Bloody Mary with was good. I'm not a huge Bloody Mary fan, but this one sounded good and it did not disappoint! For food, my son got a side of mac and cheese and fries. Both were delicious and I ate a lot of it. I got the lunch special for $12.99 that included half a sandwich and a side or soup. I got the spicy chicken sandwich with a side of collard greens and Brussel sprouts. The sandwich was amazing, I wish I would have gotten a full sandwich. The chicken was so crunchy, soft and juicy. 10 out of 10. The collard greens were good, but they weren't my style. I prefer a vinegar style collard green and these seem to be on the sweeter side, but they were still good. The Brussel sprouts were soft, crispy and salty. Absolutely amazing that I had to go back for a 2nd time before going home. We were in town for the holiday and went to the movies. This place was in walking distance and there is a free parking garage as it sits in an outdoor mall area. We were seated quickly both times and u highly recommend their happy hour, cast iron pimento cheese and chicken. The staff was very accommodating and nice. It really cool inside as you can see from photos on their listing. I would also recommend their suppers. My favorite was the Tumeric Ginger Tonic. Their chicken is so good! The quinoa bowl is something I could eat everyday. If you are looking for a place to be fed and not feel weighed down after, this is your spot. Came for happy hour and was highly impressed by the prices and selection. I've been before but never for happy hour. We started with the pimento dip (will discuss below) and the crispy Brussels. The crispy Brussels were perfectly cooked and the red pepper coulee was so good. As I mentioned, we've been before and absolutely loved the pimento dip, however tonight that was the only thing we were disappointed with. It was store bought tortilla chips rather than seasoned fresh ones as last time and tasted more like canned queso rather than the pimento dip we had last time. Entrees we got: smothered chicken with potatoes-The potatoes were huge chunks and the chicken was to die for! Salmon with collards-salmon was perfectly cooked and the collards were tasty and cooked well. Braised pork with fried okra- country style pork was tasty and the fried okra was fresh and not slimy. Was recommended by our concierge at Residence Inn to check out the Market Common and to dine at Tupelo Honey. So glad we did. Our whole experience from food, service and ambiance was exceptional. Nichols (our amazing server) was the epitome of southern hospitality. I highly recommend the Cast Iron Pork. This was one of the best pork dishes we've had ever. So tender, moist and flavorful. I asked Nichols our server if she knows what cut pork they use and what they season it with, as I truly enjoyed every morsel. She came back to tell us it was Boston butt and what probably made the difference was that it was marinated in duck fat for several hours. My hubs' dish was Shrimp & Grits which was delicious. For dessert, we ended with a Pecan Pie and Banana Pudding. Both were very good and just the right amount when ordered in "mini". While visiting the Market Common on a late afternoon, Tupelo Honey caught our eye. It was not a planned visit, but it ended up being a great choice! We were greeted promptly upon entering, and we were seated immediately. The restaurant was quite large inside. We were seated in the bar area even though outdoor seating was an option. The weather was a little warm, so eating inside was just fine. Alyssa was our server for the meal. The menu has a great deal of options, and they were also running a three course chicken meal special for $19.99. That was a nice surprise, and considering the options at each course, very well priced. We chose a couple of highly rated options and enjoyed the atmosphere. It was not long before our food arrived. The temperature of the food was perfect and the taste was excellent. It was very nice to be able to enjoy a late afternoon meal in such a comfortable and quiet restaurant. The location I visited is in The Market Common in Myrtle Beach. This location is nice because you can walk around before or after eating. The space is very open, big and nicely decorated. It's very cozy and comfortable. I felt like I could sit there for hours. We were hungry earlier than usual, so we ended up having an early dinner around 4-4:30pm and there were not many people there. The service was excellent. They have a value menu (pictured) Monday - Friday 3-5:30pm. That is what we ordered from. The menu is a twist on traditional Southern comfort food. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles and I ordered the chicken and grits. Both servings were big and tasty. They had the best grits I had had so far on that trip. We also ordered side salads. We each had a sangria - I had the peach and she had the red. We loved everything we had! The cocktail menu is pretty unique. I also loved all of the tableware. read more

The decor in this place was really cute, and the food was good... no complaints there-and all 3 of my kids (aged between 6-16) thought it was delicious! Personally, I found the pricing to be high (I had one mimosa, we got the fried pickles, 3 adult meals and one kids meal- total was $120 before tip), and our waitress not very attentive. It was the end of the evening-ish... but we arrived about 45 mins before closing time (8pm, early for a restaurant IMO) and she seemed like she was done for the day. Didn't make small talk, offer suggestions, or check on us until we were almost done. She was not rude at all, but I wouldn't say friendly either. I might describe the service and restaurant both as kind of cold feeling. Notes on our food/drinks: the 'Bless Your Heart' mimosa (blood orange and lime) was fabulous; fried pickles were kind of flavorless, I think because of how thinly they sliced them- I wouldn't order again; po boy bun was nice and soft and the level of spice was perfect; the Sriracha chicken was much spicier than expected; waffles for the chicken and waffles were perfect. If this place cost a bit less I'd probably add it to our standard Myrtle Beach rotation, but as is I'll probably skip it since there are other options in town that are both more affordable and impress us more. read more

For my main entree, I got the Sriracha Honey Fried Chicken & Waffles. I was craving some chicken & waffles, and even more so, a spicy chicken & waffles. They were okay. The chicken was kind of dry, and the waffle was kind of hard. It kind of just tasted like everything was just sitting there for a long period of time.
