    Breakfast Quesadilla
    Brittanie M.

We decided to make a stop by the Golden Egg on the morning of our annual beach departure. My Aunt made the recommendation and we needed a breakfast redemption after have a horrible experience at Omega Pancake House (please avoid that place at all costs!). Golden Egg Pancake House did not disappoint and absolutely lived up to the hype that my Aunt was telling us about. It was a Sunday morning and I expected to wait at least an hour for a table but they were only running about 15-20 minutes for seating of a party of 4. The restaurant was huge and had plenty of seating. After being seating, we were immediately greeted and placed drink orders. We enjoyed EVERYTHING we ordered and unlike Omega Pancake House EVERYTHING WAS FRESH! The food was delicious and exactly what we needed to fill our belly's and prepare for a 7 hour drive home. My mother loved her chip beef gravy and said it tasted exactly like my grandmothers. My boyfriend's breakfast quesadilla was HUGE and packed with all the meats, and my scrambled eggs and cheese, sausage patties, and French toast was so tasty! The only thing we did not enjoy was the iced coffee. Please make this a must go the next time you are looking to enjoy a fresh and filling breakfast. We will absolutely be back next year when we're in town for vacation.

A super Egg-cellent breakfast! Found this place online this morning and it is a super popular joint with cozy clean decor. The service was great and they even have spots for you to save your own coffee mug with your name when you visit. I tried their chicken and waffles which was amazing! They put a blend of sweet butter with siracha while the waffle is tasty fluffy and light. The fried chicken was perfect and succulent. South Carolina is definitely the place to order a sweet tea. We also had some hot cakes with bacon, sauce and eggs which were perfect. The chicken fried steak, house fries and gravy was just out of this world! You guys have to do yourselves a favor and try this place out if you are ever visiting Myrtle Beach / Surfside Beach South Carolina

The burger was so juicy it took all of these.

This is a must stop for us when we are in the area. Usually it's for breakfast. I love the stuffed French toast and the sausage biscuits. My wife's go to is the Carolina omelette. Today I changed it up and had lunch. I got the mushroom swiss burger. It was a half pound of ground chuck. The mushrooms were obviously fresh. One of the best burgers I have had in a while.

The Grand Strand is known as the pancake capital and for good reason! Vacationers and locals flock to these diners serving breakfast with all the trimmings! The Golden Egg stands out for their mug club, stuffed French toast and super friendly service! We loved our breakfast and will be back soon!

We stopped by here after the place that was nearby where we originally wanted to have breakfast was closed. This is a cozy little diner with a friendly staff. We ordered the breakfast bowl and huevos rancheros. The breakfast bowl was a huge portion and tasted good. Huevos rancheros, on the other hand, were disappointing. It looked like a plate of tortilla chips with some black beans and eggs. It was served with a cold salsa, avocado, and jalapeño on the side. I just had the eggs and avocado and pretty much left the rest. Perhaps I should have ordered a different item, and my experience would have been better.

    Menu as of 10/27/24.

There are great breakfast spots all around the South Strand beaches you just have to find the best ones. Golden Egg is a favorite among locals and tourists alike and for good reason. It's a nicely decorated restaurant with a small gift shop. The wait staff is busy but always friendly. I had a Fajita Omelette which for the most part was quite tasty. The slices avocado on top and the grilled jalapeño on the side was a nice addition. Good choice if you like Tex-Mex. My wife had her typical omelette which she said was tasty. Try to get here early, especially in the summer months, if you want to avoid a wait time to get a table.

Chipped Beef Gravy Perfection! Grits and Scrambled Eggs!

First visit this trip and wishing we'd come sooner! Oswaldo was our Server once again and he remains a Rockstar! He is truly an asset to the restaurant. Our food was delicious as usual. The reason for the 4 Stars is the Chipped Beef Gravy was lukewarm and sadly got colder as we ate. Perhaps they made it too soon while waiting for the other dishes to be prepared? It was delicious but is definitely better hot or at least warm as we know from past visits. My husband had the Golden Egg Special with Sausage Links and said all was hot and delicious. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are always friendly and efficient. We love Golden Egg and look forward to our visit every year!

Bit of a wait due to people just chatting at ables which is not only annoying for the staff but for the people waiting. The parking lot is tiny and lots of people double park with giant dually trucks that they are driving over from the RV parks. However, that is the end of the cons list. Once you get seated you get amazing service and if you order coffee they will leave you an entire kettle to yourself. They are very knowledgeable about gluten allergies and have really good gluten-free options including waffles. My girlfriend got the gluten free Reese's waffle and loved it. I got the 2 eggs and bacon with potatoes and it was really good, above average for the basics. For dessert I got the dulce de leche waffle and it was outstanding. We couldn't say anything more about how good the food and service was. The inside is quite big, outside it seems small but once you come in you see that it's huge. They have some places to sit while you wait. It's very clean and open with plenty of options to seat couples or large groups. We rode our motorcycles here and they are friendly to bikers.

We heard good things about the Golden Egg, and wanted to give it a try. We went around 8:30 a.m. on a Thursday, and there was no wait. By the time we left, there were people waiting inside and outside, so get there early. The space is bigger than other breakfast places we have tried in the area. The service was good and the food was solid.

After a very unfriendly experience at another place, we walked into the restaurant and was warmly welcomed, a smiling staff, great service and a decent breakfast for the 6 of us. You can expect a wait, have a pumpkin latte while you sit outside and wait. Our eggs were cooked to order and perfect. Pancakes were great too. Our only regret was that they didn't have real maple syrup. But heck it was good. We will be back.

    Andrew I.

We came here for breakfast after a few people at our hotel recommended it. Parking seemed a little tight, but we easily got a spot. Lots of seating inside. If you have to wait for a table, they ask you to wait outside. There are a few benches to sit on. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. There's a few cool murals on the wall. Yelp gives you a $5 off coupon if you check in. The food was good. I had a wrap with eggs, chorizo and home fries. The salsa and sour cream added a little more flavor. The side of home fries was seasoned nicely. I also tried grits which I had for the first time. I have nothing to compare it too, but with some butter added it tasted good. Good experience overall.

We pulled up to what looked like an old Italian restaurant. When we entered there was a board with specials and a hostess/waitress seated us. I was a little trepidatious since we were the only people there but very rarely do you yelpers steer me wrong! Our British company ordered hot tea, while the rest of the party ordered water, juice or soda. I say this only because each Brit got a teapot of their own. It was lovely and appreciated! Most of our table got omelets due to the recommendation of the waitress and they were definitely delicious. But the potatoes that accompanied them were the best thing we had there! I had the biscuits and gravy (a special on the board). While they were tasty, the biscuit was more crumbly than I like and the presentation was visually unappealing. The interior was clean and had a definite "Mom and Pop" vibe. It is Veteran owned, which was a plus for us! The price was just right for the very good breakfast that we were served. I would recommend you stop here at any point on your vacation, you won't be disappointed.

They were out of most of their bagels by the time we got there. We ordered: The Ricky Bobby - was very good, probably the best thing we had. Was supposed to come on a bagel, but my friend had to get it on sourdough instead. It was good regardless. Austin's special - This was pretty much just eggs on a bagel. Nothing special, but not bad. It might've been better but it was nerfed by the fact that that I had to have it on a wheat bagel and that I asked for no sausage. The sauce had very little flavor, I had to add my own salt, ketchup, and hot sauce. Probably would have needed more acid even if I got it without the modifications. Spinach and feta croissant - Not great. The croissant was not light or fluffy and the filling lacked flavor. Not much feta despite the name. Raspberry and cream danish and cinnamon roll- We could have gotten something similar at Costco or a grocery store bakery. My friends got coffee which they said was very good, some of the best they've had in the area. I can see this place being good, but you have to come early or on an off day to have access to the full menu and avoid long wait times. Otherwise you will have a middling experience. It was clear the kitchen was struggling to keep up.

Omega pancake house is right around the corner from our condo and they didn't look super busy yet. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated at a 4 top for a party of 2. When our waitress Theresa came to take our drink order, we were also already ready to place our meal order. We ordered a coffee, 2 freshly squeezed orange juice, Blueberry ricotta waffle with bacon, and a side of scrambled eggs and cheese. We also ordered sweet potato pancakes, eggs over medium, and hash brown. The waffle was delicious with fresh blueberries and blueberry syrup. My mom LOVED her sweet potato pancakes with homemade cinnamon butter. The bad... some of the food was obviously precooked early in the morning. I understand that this is a vacation destination so they want to get people in and out fast and remaking popular sides makes it more efficient to turn tables but I'm very disappointed. Almost $7 for a side of bacon that was absolutely inedible. It was as chewy as a dog treat. The scrambled eggs also taste like a hotel continental breakfast... premade and my cheese was just sprinkled on top. The eggs weren't even hot enough to melt the cheese like they have been sitting prior to turning them into scrambled eggs and cheese. The hash brown again, tasted like it was precooked early that morning and just slapped on the plate when they received our ticket. The only thing hot and fresh were the pancakes and waffle. Everything else was a disappointment. We ordered a Greek burrito to go and my boyfriend said it tasted alright. Our server was lovely but we probably won't be back if we are ever in the mood for breakfast again. Hopefully we can find somewhere that provides made to order during the rest of our trip. Also the orange juice is NOT fresh squeezed and they overcharge you. Highway Robbery and dishonest. I'm editing my review after having the best experience at Golden Egg where the food is fresh and the menu is true to what you receive!
