We decided to make a stop by the Golden Egg on the morning of our annual beach departure. My Aunt made the recommendation and we needed a breakfast redemption after have a horrible experience at Omega Pancake House (please avoid that place at all costs!). Golden Egg Pancake House did not disappoint and absolutely lived up to the hype that my Aunt was telling us about. It was a Sunday morning and I expected to wait at least an hour for a table but they were only running about 15-20 minutes for seating of a party of 4. The restaurant was huge and had plenty of seating. After being seating, we were immediately greeted and placed drink orders. We enjoyed EVERYTHING we ordered and unlike Omega Pancake House EVERYTHING WAS FRESH! The food was delicious and exactly what we needed to fill our belly's and prepare for a 7 hour drive home. My mother loved her chip beef gravy and said it tasted exactly like my grandmothers. My boyfriend's breakfast quesadilla was HUGE and packed with all the meats, and my scrambled eggs and cheese, sausage patties, and French toast was so tasty! The only thing we did not enjoy was the iced coffee. Please make this a must go the next time you are looking to enjoy a fresh and filling breakfast. We will absolutely be back next year when we're in town for vacation. read more

Please learn how to make Huevos Rancheros. It's actually easy to make but taste best with fresh ingredients.

A super Egg-cellent breakfast! Found this place online this morning and it is a super popular joint with cozy clean decor. The service was great and they even have spots for you to save your own coffee mug with your name when you visit. I tried their chicken and waffles which was amazing! They put a blend of sweet butter with siracha while the waffle is tasty fluffy and light. The fried chicken was perfect and succulent. South Carolina is definitely the place to order a sweet tea. We also had some hot cakes with bacon, sauce and eggs which were perfect. The chicken fried steak, house fries and gravy was just out of this world! You guys have to do yourselves a favor and try this place out if you are ever visiting Myrtle Beach / Surfside Beach South Carolina read more

This is a must stop for us when we are in the area. Usually it's for breakfast. I love the stuffed French toast and the sausage biscuits. My wife's go to is the Carolina omelette. Today I changed it up and had lunch. I got the mushroom swiss burger. It was a half pound of ground chuck. The mushrooms were obviously fresh. One of the best burgers I have had in a while. read more

We stopped by here after the place that was nearby where we originally wanted to have breakfast was closed. This is a cozy little diner with a friendly staff. We ordered the breakfast bowl and huevos rancheros. The breakfast bowl was a huge portion and tasted good. Huevos rancheros, on the other hand, were disappointing. It looked like a plate of tortilla chips with some black beans and eggs. It was served with a cold salsa, avocado, and jalapeño on the side. I just had the eggs and avocado and pretty much left the rest. Perhaps I should have ordered a different item, and my experience would have been better. read more

Bit of a wait due to people just chatting at ables which is not only annoying for the staff but for the people waiting. The parking lot is tiny and lots of people double park with giant dually trucks that they are driving over from the RV parks. However, that is the end of the cons list. Once you get seated you get amazing service and if you order coffee they will leave you an entire kettle to yourself. They are very knowledgeable about gluten allergies and have really good gluten-free options including waffles. My girlfriend got the gluten free Reese's waffle and loved it. I got the 2 eggs and bacon with potatoes and it was really good, above average for the basics. For dessert I got the dulce de leche waffle and it was outstanding. We couldn't say anything more about how good the food and service was. The inside is quite big, outside it seems small but once you come in you see that it's huge. They have some places to sit while you wait. It's very clean and open with plenty of options to seat couples or large groups. We rode our motorcycles here and they are friendly to bikers. read more

Golden egg pancake house is definitely a Sunday brunch location. Very large menu selection, very large portions of mediocre food/Bland and tasteless. We had a Western omelet with whole slices of onions and peppers. Nothing cut to a uniform size that would cook evenly. Very dry Philly cheese steak. We won't be returning. read more

My family of 4 went around 10 m on a rainy friday morning peak season. 35 min wait but they take ur number they text and call when ur tables ready so u can easily wait in car. The waitress was great, attentive but not obnoxious. The food was very good. I had gravy and biscuit came with home fries added a side of bacon. Huge portion two large biscuits split with enormous amount of sawmill sausage gravy. Home fries yummy. Bacon perfectly crisp. One daughter had a breakfast wrap ginormous and very well seasoned. Other had Nutella French toast again huge serving and very tasty. My husband had a breakfast plate with eggs pancakes bacon and homefries very large portion as well. Basically anything u get here is going to be a large portion and we had no complaints. Service was very good for Avery busy restraunt and nothing was sent out wrong. Very much enjoyed our experience. read more

Once you step foot inside the Golden Egg Pancake House you will immediately feel like family. The entire staff is very welcoming which sets the tone for a pleasant dining experience. Food quality and service both need to improve. My bacon, an egg and cheese biscuit was very unsatisfactory.. I asked for crispy bacon and I was served bacon that was floppy and you could still see the fat on it because it wasn't cooked properly. Also did not see any cheese on my sandwich so I sent it back for cheese. She brought it back to me saying that the cheese was folded into the egg. I barely saw any cheese at all, and I barely tasted any cheese. My husband's pancakes were like rubber and did not taste good. I doubt we will be going back to Golden Egg. read more

Five stars all the way and we really enjoyed getting breakfast here when we were in Surfside Beach for four nights. The prices were reasonable and the portions were great. The coffee was hot. This is the place to go for breakfast while visiting Myrtle Beach! There are great breakfast spots all around the South Strand beaches you just have to find the best ones. Golden Egg is a favorite among locals and tourists alike and for good reason. It's a nicely decorated restaurant with a small gift shop. The wait staff is busy but always friendly. I had a Fajita Omelette which for the most part was quite tasty. The slices avocado on top and the grilled jalapeño on the side was a nice addition. Good choice if you like Tex-Mex. My wife had her typical omelette which she said was tasty. Try to get here early, especially in the summer months, if you want to avoid a wait time to get a table. read more

First visit this trip and wishing we'd come sooner! Oswaldo was our Server once again and he remains a Rockstar! He is truly an asset to the restaurant. Our food was delicious as usual. The reason for the 4 Stars is the Chipped Beef Gravy was lukewarm and sadly got colder as we ate. Perhaps they made it too soon while waiting for the other dishes to be prepared? It was delicious but is definitely better hot or at least warm as we know from past visits. My husband had the Golden Egg Special with Sausage Links and said all was hot and delicious. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are always friendly and efficient. We love Golden Egg and look forward to our visit every year! read more

We always go to the Golden Egg when we are at the beach. The food is always wonderful and the service is on point.

After a very unfriendly experience at another place, we walked into the restaurant and was warmly welcomed, a smiling staff, great service and a decent breakfast for the 6 of us. You can expect a wait, have a pumpkin latte while you sit outside and wait. Our eggs were cooked to order and perfect. Pancakes were great too. Our only regret was that they didn't have real maple syrup. But heck it was good. We will be back. read more

Food was good. Pancakes were really good. Way too much food! Service was good & restaurant was clean with pleasant staff. I would recommend.

We came here for breakfast after a few people at our hotel recommended it. Parking seemed a little tight, but we easily got a spot. Lots of seating inside. If you have to wait for a table, they ask you to wait outside. There are a few benches to sit on. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. There's a few cool murals on the wall. Yelp gives you a $5 off coupon if you check in. The food was good. I had a wrap with eggs, chorizo and home fries. The salsa and sour cream added a little more flavor. The side of home fries was seasoned nicely. I also tried grits which I had for the first time. I have nothing to compare it too, but with some butter added it tasted good. Good experience overall. read more

We heard good things about the Golden Egg, and wanted to give it a try. We went around 8:30 a.m. on a Thursday, and there was no wait. Amazing! Amazing food, amazing service, amazing ambiance, great food selection. Live the Golden Egg! Family tradition!

We are always on the hunt for restaurants that do have some Gluten Free options. GF breakfast spots are always hit or miss. This one truly has so many GF options, not just toast! My daughter was finally able to choose between pancakes, waffles & french toast! a rarity in the GF world! as for the regular breakfast crew-a pretty big breakfast menu with some unusual items as well. This is a really great breakfast spot, it does get busy, you may need to wait a bit, but its worth it. really large portions too:)- Our server was lovely. the gal in the shop, however, could maybe put a smile on her face! read more

With so many 4 and 5 star reviews I thought I would give it a try. I was not disappointed service was top notch along with the food from what I saw in general no one left hungry as there were lots of to go boxes being carried out. Great good at a good price point read more

Golden Egg is such a cool breakfast spot. Expect to have a little wait time especially close to or on the weekend, or during peak season. We stopped in on Friday morning in April and waited about 10-15 minutes. You can tell a lot of regulars frequent this place and I can see why! The menu is huge with lots of options for everyone. The restaurant itself is pretty large with a good amount of seating. There's a cool coffee mug wall at the front to the restaurant, which I think belong to regulars so that was really cool! We ordered the breakfast quesadilla with bacon and home fries, and the 3 egg, sausage, toast, and grits special. All delicious! The breakfast quesadilla was HUGE! I could only eat half. It was very tasty and toasty, served with salsa and sour cream. Very yummy! The home fries were super flavorful and made with green peppers, onions, and lots of seasoning. The other items were also great, the toast especially. It's a different kind of toast than your usual breakfast place (maybe sourdough?) and super buttery. The waitstaff is so friendly and welcoming. Tina was wonderful and funny. A table behind us had very special dietary restrictions and I witnessed their waitress (a different one than ours but didn't catch her name) being so extremely patient and helpful with ordering. That makes all the difference for patrons, especially when it's super busy and the waitstaff still goes the extra mile. Keep up the great work!! We will definitely be back to the Golden Egg! read more

We always eat breakfast out the morning we leave the beach and since our go to breakfast place, Joe's Diner By The Airport is closed on Mondays, I did some research and we ended up here. The wife and I split the Golden Egg Special which was 3 eggs, 2 pancakes or French toast, bacon or sausage and seasoned home fries or grits. We got 2 small plate size pancakes which were good but not as good as Joe's malted pancakes, with seasoned home fries and patty sausage. Our server was a little scatterbrained as we had to repeat our order back to her as she forgot most of it the first time. Service was ok and they leave a coffee pot on the table. I thought the coffee was pricey at $3.29 a cup. Overall it was good, but at just shy of $30 for two people sharing a breakfast I thought it was a little pricey, but we were eating in a tourist area so that seems to be the going rate. Wife said she would return if Joe's was not open, me If I didn't come back here, I would not lose any sleep over it. read more
