Leaving the beach from a week long vacation, we wanted to stop and get some breakfast before we hit the road. Yelp directed us to this place. We pulled up to what looked like an old Italian restaurant. When we entered there was a board with specials and a hostess/waitress seated us. I was a little trepidatious since we were the only people there but very rarely do you yelpers steer me wrong! Our British company ordered hot tea, while the rest of the party ordered water, juice or soda. I say this only because each Brit got a teapot of their own. It was lovely and appreciated! Most of our table got omelets due to the recommendation of the waitress and they were definitely delicious. But the potatoes that accompanied them were the best thing we had there! I had the biscuits and gravy (a special on the board). While they were tasty, the biscuit was more crumbly than I like and the presentation was visually unappealing. The interior was clean and had a definite "Mom and Pop" vibe. It is Veteran owned, which was a plus for us! The price was just right for the very good breakfast that we were served. Nice place for breakfast with a bar and tables. Just a few customers when we walked in on a weekday at 9am. Good variety on the menu. Our waitress was from NJ originally and had a great sense of humor. My wife and I started with coffees. My girls ordered the strawberry blueberry French toast which was served with fresh berries and whip cream. My son got the Egg BLT sandwich and my wife and I each got an omelette. Stopped in for breakfast while in town based off the yelp reviews. They were absolutely right, this is a hidden gem in plain sight! We tried two different omelettes, home fries and the kiddo got pancakes. All were outstanding. The omelettes were fluffy and loaded! The home fries were redskin which took them to a whole other level. Staff was friendly and attentive, food came out quick and very nicely presented on the plates all in a casual comfortable environment. This is a must stop for breakfast if you're in town. Nice little breakfast spot which I believe was a bar in a previous life. I'm big on a good breakfast and I tend to lean more favorably towards savory rather than sweet when it comes to breakfast. Raves delivers in that regard. Their omelettes are good but I they aren't the fluffy type which I prefer but tasty regardless. My mushroom and Swiss omelette was packed with mushrooms and the grits were point on. All this with friendly service. Definitely recommend. read more

My in-laws recommended Rave's, so we decided to try it while we were in town. It's a small space, that had a very locals vibe to it. The food itself was good, but the service was poor. Once they dropped off our food, nobody checked on us to provide refills of coffee, water, etc., or to see if we wanted anything else. We drove 20 minutes based on reviews but they were closed for vacation. It will not let me delete my original review as we thought they were out of business due to realtor sign but upon closer inspection were closed for vacation. So changing to 3 to offset. A post or something on website about closure would have saved us some grief. read more

This review is for service only. We didn't get to taste the food. It is rare that I give a 1 star when I never had the full experience of eating at a place. It's rarer to be treated so poorly while waiting at the please wait to be seated sign, I leave along with my 5 friends. After standing at the sign for 11 minutes and watching various servers avoiding eye contact with us, i spoke up and grabbed the attention of a waitress who looked annoyed that I stopped her in her tracks. I said, "excuse me, can you tell me how long do you think the wait will be for 6?" She shrugged and went to tell the older server who came to us, looked past us and grabbed the folks behind us for a 2 top, a 3 top and a single. She said nothing to us or acknowledge us. Then she left, to return to look past us again and grabbed another 2 top, to which my friend asked how long does she think we will need to wait. The waitress who never acknowledged us said, "I told you I am looking!" At this point, the very sour older waitress sputtered something else and it was now near 20 minutes of being unwelcomed every which way, we left to eat at the Golden Egg down the road and had a great brunch with a very welcoming staff. read more

My other half and myself wanted a casual carb breffie...read the reviews on this mom and pop place -reminds us of a nice NY diner. The menu is simple and easy, I had the French toast with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, it was yummy. I only wished they had real maple syrup rather than the aunt jemima style plastic version. Other half had the meat lovers omelet and licked his plate it was delicious! Their red potato homefries are pretty great, fresh herbs which is huge..and cooked to perfection. Their unsweetened fresh iced tea is lovely and refreshing, as well as the servers and ambiance! What a pleasant experience. Granted I arrived early on a freezing December morning, so not much of a crowd. The place is spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and wonderfully draped in Christmas decor. Adorable. My server, Kate, suggested the asparagus and mozzarella omelet. I added bacon and requested it be cooked slightly wet (I abhor bone-dry eggs). No problem. Picture ready presentation. Perfect. Their home fries give away the owner's Northern roots (NJ). My husband and I were looking for new breakfast/lunch spots in our area and stumbled on Raves. At 10:45 on a Saturday morning, we were able to get right in and get seated. I had the 2x2 special, which is 2 pancakes and 2 slices of bacon and a side of toast and bacon, because let me be honest- I need more than 2 slices of bacon! Those pancakes were the best I've had in a while. It was definitely a from scratch batter. I was disappointed in the bacon, as it was super thin and too over done for my liking. My husband had a bacon and cheese omelet, which he said was delicious. It came with a side of home fries, which he thought were very good. It's a little on the quiet side, which can make dining there with my family a little awkward (they're loud!), but the food is worth it. Raves would have gotten 4 stars if they knew how to cook grits...well it said grits on the menu, I'm not sure what was served...it wasn't grits. The French toast and BLT egg sandwich were amazing. The other reason for the low rating, no masks by the employees. I noticed a large number of elderly people in and out of the restaurant...reason why masks are so important. We will probably try it again when we return...if the COVID numbers have stopped rising. read more
