Farmers Choice. Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, home fries, toast, sausage (links and patties), with French toach.

We were drawn in from their sign saying "best waffles in town" as they are located right next to Waffle House. We arrived at 9:50 on a Saturday morning and only had a a couple minute wait before being seated. Our waitress was beyond friendly. She was so helpful and funny. She really made our breakfast experience so much better. I wish I knew her name to give her props! (She's a teacher and lacrosse coach! Way to go, girl!) Within 20 minutes of arriving, we had our food. We all ordered the breakfast special. Which was so much food, but allowed all of us the opportunity to try everything. The bacon was super crispy as requested and delicious! The sausage was good, links were better than the patties IMO! I loved the French Toast more than the waffles/pancakes. Our friends really enjoyed their biscuits and gravy. We loved the barn/cow decor! There was even a real (alcohol) bar that we didn't see until we walked out! 10/10 would recommend! This was by far our favorite breakfast place we had during our stay!

When I visit my mom in South Carolina, I always have plenty of time in the mornings to eat breakfast. Since I rarely use this time because I can never find quality food as good as what I make at home, I rarely go out. While searching through Yelp. I saw that this place was known for having the best grits in the area, and boy, they were right. The grits were fantastic and creamy. The eggs were over easy and perfect, and the patties had a nice spice to them. I washed it all down with a Lynchburg iced tea with Jack Daniels whiskey, and it was the best breakfast I've had outside of my own home in a long time. I hate that I only come here a couple of times a year, but every time I do, I definitely plan to stop by.

Southern Hospitality at its finest ! My grandfather and I were stranded in Surfside, Myrtle Beach, we were looking for some good Ol Country Cooking. We stumbled upon this hidden gem. We were treated like family the moment we walked in the door. Family Barn filled not only our belly's with unforgettable corn bread and perfectly seasoned catfish, but our hearts with love. We know first hand why this restaurant is called The Family Barn- special hello to Kailyn. We appreciated your kind words and keeping us calm thru our ordeal. See you again

I ordered a new special salad they were offering... it was supposed to be romaine lettuce... it was iceberg... not a fan... I noticed that also there was no black beans on it.. the waitress said oh sorry we don't have romaine or black beans... I said it's on the menu... I eat my salad... I looked at hubby.. said no cheese either.. Called her over ..ask for a menu... point out all of the differences.. She gets the manager... I said if you are going to put a special salad on a menu .. make sure you have the ingredients.. I said iceberg lettuce is not romaine.. she said no one notices.. I said wrong... I did!! She said well you are almost done you should have said something earlier... I said I did!!! They did give me a discount.. it's the principle.. you don't argue with a customer...

Kim was an excellent waitress. She kept my coffee filled and was quick to bring anything we asked for. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. The chicken fried steak was crispy. It was sitting on a bed of gravy which ended up being the perfect amount. It had good seasoning the breading and the gravy. The home fries were cut to the perfect size. They were seasoned well and were nice and crispy. My over medium eggs were cooked perfectly. The raisin bread toast was sooo good. The restaurant has a cozy family feel. My friend had the Florentine omelet. She said she gave two thumbs up and a toe. She also commented on how good the home fries were. I will definitely be back when I come to visit friends.

Shrimp n Grits (ate me a shrimp before taking the photo ;) ) and a biscuit. Yum!

Shrimp n grits was amazing! The biscuits are homemade. The service was exemplary! Sweet southern charm! We will be back!

Hubby had Chicken fried steak and I had the Breakfast bowl with side of grits. Yummmm

Seriously one of the best breakfast in the area! Always great food and service. Definitely best grits around. Been coming here 3 years never disappointed!

Fathers Day breakfast for the hubster. The restaurant was very clean and the farmhouse decor was very cute. All of the staff, from the hostess to the waitresses, were so pleasant, warm, and inviting. The menu is very simple with minimal substitutions are allowed to keep the kitchen staff efficient. The hubster ordered the fried bologna with 2 sunny side up eggs - sandwich and said it was delicious. I ordered the one egg with grits and wheat toast. Our food was brought out quickly without any issues.

Decided to stop in for some breakfast before getting the day started; last day visiting. Ordered the Farmers Special and One Egg entree that came with wheat toast & grits. Also ordered a half order of French toast. The French toast was tasty. It came out hot, but it didn't hold the temperature long. I'm learning once it gets cold, it's no longer as good when hot. The One egg entree was just the right amount of food. I requested scrambled WITH cheese and the eggs came out scrambled with a slice of cheese lightly melted on top. That was a disappointment. The grits were thick & creamy and hot. With the Farmers Special, you get a little bit of everything; two strips of bacon, one sausage link, one sausage patty, three scrambled eggs, home fries & one plate size pancake. Overall, the food was just okay. Now, the customer service received was OUTSTANDING!!!! That in itself, to me, I'll give 5 . If I had to describe the vibe of the restaurant, it puts you in the mind of a more dialed back Cracker Barrel without the store front. Not a lot, but just a tiny bit.

We pulled up to what looked like an old Italian restaurant. When we entered there was a board with specials and a hostess/waitress seated us. I was a little trepidatious since we were the only people there but very rarely do you yelpers steer me wrong! Our British company ordered hot tea, while the rest of the party ordered water, juice or soda. I say this only because each Brit got a teapot of their own. It was lovely and appreciated! Most of our table got omelets due to the recommendation of the waitress and they were definitely delicious. But the potatoes that accompanied them were the best thing we had there! I had the biscuits and gravy (a special on the board). While they were tasty, the biscuit was more crumbly than I like and the presentation was visually unappealing. The interior was clean and had a definite "Mom and Pop" vibe. It is Veteran owned, which was a plus for us! The price was just right for the very good breakfast that we were served. I would recommend you stop here at any point on your vacation, you won't be disappointed.

They were out of most of their bagels by the time we got there. We ordered: The Ricky Bobby - was very good, probably the best thing we had. Was supposed to come on a bagel, but my friend had to get it on sourdough instead. It was good regardless. Austin's special - This was pretty much just eggs on a bagel. Nothing special, but not bad. It might've been better but it was nerfed by the fact that that I had to have it on a wheat bagel and that I asked for no sausage. The sauce had very little flavor, I had to add my own salt, ketchup, and hot sauce. Probably would have needed more acid even if I got it without the modifications. Spinach and feta croissant - Not great. The croissant was not light or fluffy and the filling lacked flavor. Not much feta despite the name. Raspberry and cream danish and cinnamon roll- We could have gotten something similar at Costco or a grocery store bakery. My friends got coffee which they said was very good, some of the best they've had in the area. I can see this place being good, but you have to come early or on an off day to have access to the full menu and avoid long wait times. Otherwise you will have a middling experience. It was clear the kitchen was struggling to keep up.

Omega pancake house is right around the corner from our condo and they didn't look super busy yet. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated at a 4 top for a party of 2. When our waitress Theresa came to take our drink order, we were also already ready to place our meal order. We ordered a coffee, 2 freshly squeezed orange juice, Blueberry ricotta waffle with bacon, and a side of scrambled eggs and cheese. We also ordered sweet potato pancakes, eggs over medium, and hash brown. The waffle was delicious with fresh blueberries and blueberry syrup. My mom LOVED her sweet potato pancakes with homemade cinnamon butter. The bad... some of the food was obviously precooked early in the morning. I understand that this is a vacation destination so they want to get people in and out fast and remaking popular sides makes it more efficient to turn tables but I'm very disappointed. Almost $7 for a side of bacon that was absolutely inedible. It was as chewy as a dog treat. The scrambled eggs also taste like a hotel continental breakfast... premade and my cheese was just sprinkled on top. The eggs weren't even hot enough to melt the cheese like they have been sitting prior to turning them into scrambled eggs and cheese. The hash brown again, tasted like it was precooked early that morning and just slapped on the plate when they received our ticket. The only thing hot and fresh were the pancakes and waffle. Everything else was a disappointment. We ordered a Greek burrito to go and my boyfriend said it tasted alright. Our server was lovely but we probably won't be back if we are ever in the mood for breakfast again. Hopefully we can find somewhere that provides made to order during the rest of our trip. Also the orange juice is NOT fresh squeezed and they overcharge you. Highway Robbery and dishonest. I'm editing my review after having the best experience at Golden Egg where the food is fresh and the menu is true to what you receive!
