    Shrimp and grits (delicious)
    Raymond L.

What a treat! I was met and seated by a very personable server (Amber) who described the specialties of the establishment and the "specials of the day." They all seemed palatable, but I had come for the shrimp and grits and asked how they were. She said that they were very good but the dish is unique from place to place. She said theirs was more savory than spicy. It was delicious. If I had come here earlier in my trip, I would certainly come here again. It's a very attractive building tastefully decorated both inside and out.

Dinner Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. This is platter with beef and lamb.

Great Greek dinner! Hours 5 PM to 9 PM Thursday through Saturday. Meal was fantastic. Seated immediately.

Gyro & Fries. ORDER IT!!! Trust me

This is a great place. The Greek food is amazing and the service was spot on. Weston was our server. He was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. We had our entrees within ten or so minutes of ordering. I got the Spicy chicken Boom Boom wrap which was delicious. My wife got the gyro platter. She said everything on it was delicious. We also got pineapple mimosas which were pretty good but not my favorite. This place is a quiet little hidden gem in Surfside. It is very casual and not touristy. We will definitely be returning regularly.

We were looking for a breakfast spot and decided on the Wooden Spoon Eatery. It's a pretty modern restaurant with some creative decorations throughout the dining are. The service was generally good with the server checking on us from time to time. The menu has the standard breakfast item but also some unique offerings. My wife had her typical breakfast. Scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage, home fries, and an English muffin. She said it was pretty good. I decided on the Athenian Omelette which has feta cheese, green peppers, tomatoes and onions. I also had grits and rye toast. The omelette was good but not very fluffy. The grits were fantastic. They had the perfect consistency. The toast was somewhat light. I thought it could have stayed in the toaster a little. Overall, it was a pretty good breakfast. I would definitely go back again if I was in that area.

We went to Wooden Spoon Eatery on 11/9/2024 and it was EXELENT! I got caramel pecan French toast with blueberry's and it was great. The service was outstanding. And the view from outside was nice. If you are in the Surfise, Myrtle or Garden City Beach area and want a great breakfast then I highly recommend Wooden Spoon Eatery

Stopped in for lunch on a whim, as it was close to our AirBNB and glad we did! Food was excellent, and staff was super friendly! I had the wooden spoon salad and my husband had the Philly steak sandwich with fries. Not only did it come out quick, everything was excellent. I will be back, and you should go, too! ***EDIT*** also stopped in for breakfast and it was equally excellent. Food was great, and coffee was refilled frequently. Our server was again, super friendly and sweet. Added bonus the business is veteran-owned, which is cool!

There is so much left unsaid about the Wooden Spoon. This eloquent little eatery is not only ripe with menu options; it's customer service and range of seating options are enough to make you feel like royalty. The side walk seating was comfortable, and didn't' make me feel over crowded, which only added to the enjoyment of my breakfast. As a simple person, I enjoy eggs over medium, bacon, and potatoes; they were prepared to perfection. The Wooden Spoon was so nice, while on vacation I ate there twice. This veteran owned small business is high in quality, and it has affordable prices. But you don't have to take my word for it... If you're ever in Myrtle, better yet, Surfside, I recommend you break bread and enjoy the bounty they provide.

    Southwest Omelet with fluffy bisquits

Stopped here for breakfast and we both had the Southwest Omelet special. The ingredients were mixed into the egg not like some places that just fold the egg around the ingredients, it was delicious! The biscuits are some of the best around the area. The staff here is very friendly and make you feel like you are at home. The place is clean and appropriately decorated. We will be coming back to try their lunch soon.

Country Fried Steak and Egg Platter. This was a 10. Crispy fried. The flavor was better than I have had.

Tried for the first time today. It was to close to home not too. The prices were good and fit the portion. The service was extremely good. Felt like a Mom and Pop restaurant with hometown feel. Very clean and welcoming. The food was really good. My husband and I were impressed.

After 16 years of ending our annual beach vacation with dinner at Gulfstream Cafe, this visit…read morereminded us exactly why we come back, and why we tell all of our friends this is a restaurant to never miss. The setting is second to none. We (grandparents, parents, friends, teens and little one) always enjoy dinner on the upper deck, overlooking the marina as the sun sets over the water. The views are stunning, (Insta-mazing) the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and it is the perfect way to close out a week at the beach. This year, however, it was the people who made the evening unforgettable. During dinner, we learned that our vehicle was in the process of being towed. Before we even knew what was happening, manager Jason Burch personally came to find us and alert us to the situation. He didn't simply notify us and move on--he stayed with us, helped us navigate the issue, and made sure everything was resolved. He even offered to pay the towing fee himself and help us find another parking space. That level of concern, generosity, and personal accountability is something you rarely encounter anywhere today. Our server, Graydon, was equally outstanding. Attentive without being intrusive, friendly, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great evening. Even with the unexpected stress of the parking situation, Graydon kept us laughing. Anyone can provide good food and beautiful views. What sets Gulfstream Cafe apart is its people. Jason Burch demonstrated extraordinary leadership and hospitality and delivered outstanding service from start to finish. Together, they turned what could have been a frustrating end to our vacation into a reminder of why we have chosen Gulfstream Cafe year after year for more than a decade and a half. Thank yous in spades to the Gulfstream Cafe team. We look forward to returning next year for year number 17.

My wife heard about Coastal Vino via a FB group called Pelowinos and we figured we'd stop in for a drink. We are wine drinkers with fair to good knowledge about wine and were immediately impressed by the convivial and knowledgeable owner and master-of-ceremonies, David Coy. This is a wine shop/bar. When we arrived, there were friendly patrons at the few outside tables who pegged us for tourists (non-regulars) and made sure to point us to David inside. It was busy but we were able to get stools at the small bar. David asked us about our preferences and explained pricing and how one buys the bottle vs individual glasses to drink in-shop. Fellow patrons were very complimentary of the owner's knowledge and recommendations so we decided to let him choose a red for us. He chose an excellent Spanish old-vine garnacha. Perfect choice for us and we sat happily chatting with his friendly customers. The environment was part Cheers (but with wine) and part speak-easy. People were surprised that we stumbled upon this place and teased David about his store's countrywide reach. It was very friendly and welcoming considering many were regulars and local. Very fun and what a wine bar should be. Needless to say, we left with 3 bottles, two opened (which is allowed) and one recommendation that we decided to carry home. As a wine shop, it is well curated. You will not see the "plonk" that fills most other shops (and largely pays the bills). What you will find is a wine lover's oasis with quality selections from storied wine regions and some little known gems that David is happy to key you in on. As an aficionado of wine shops, I could easily tell I would like Coastal Vino and having a guy like David in your back pocket for recommendations is golden! I wish I was local because I would be there every week. If you are in the greater Myrtle Beach area, this is a great place to find fellow wine lovers and good bottles. Bottles seemed to be $20 and up. This isn't Total Wine ( thank God). This is a place for aficionados and aspiring wine lovers who understand that well made wine doesn't have to be expensive but isn't cheap. Coastal Vino strikes just that balance in an area ripe with possibilities. If you visit once, you will visit often. Cheers to David and his lively patrons!
