Called in a to-go order. Arrived at the restaurant 10 min later and paid. Then sat for 55 minutes with zero interaction from any waitstaff. Watched several tables get sat, order, eat and leave all while I just sT idle. At the 60 minute mark, I had the waitress CXL the order and refund. Never even got a "sorry about that". I arrived around 12n on Monday Oct 10th. It was not busy at all, only a few other guests enjoying their meals. I got a table immediately and the server was about 3 steps behind me as I sat down. I cannot recall her name but she was friendly and pleasant! Thoroughly enjoyed my juicy cheddar bacon cheeseburger, hot crispy seasoned fries and deliciously made sweet tea! Been wanting to stop here for awhile as it's always so busy! Stopped in a little after noon and definitely give the food 5 stars- omelette was huge and packed with toppings. We are definitely breakfast folks and love small, local diners. I'm actually not sure if Early Riser Diner is a chain, but if they are they are just like a small local place. The service is excellent and they were COVID compliant when we were there for breakfast. I had Beef Hash and Eggs over easy with grits. My wife had scrambled eggs, sausage links and home fries. I can't say enough about the hash. It was obviously homemade and had that fantastic, slightly sour taste. It was perfect. The grits were typical but good and if you have fresh eggs that are cooked correctly (which these were), it's hard to screw them up. My wife enjoyed her breakfast as well. This is going to be our go to breakfast spot in Myrtle Beach when we are there. read more
