The food is good and the service is great. Our server stayed on top of our needs and was very friendly and personable.

We just arrived into town for our annual beach vacation. Breakfast is not something we usually go out and do but we brought my mom with me this year and she wanted pancakes! Omega pancake house is right around the corner from our condo and they didn't look super busy yet. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated at a 4 top for a party of 2. When our waitress Theresa came to take our drink order, we were also already ready to place our meal order. We ordered a coffee, 2 freshly squeezed orange juice, Blueberry ricotta waffle with bacon, and a side of scrambled eggs and cheese. We also ordered sweet potato pancakes, eggs over medium, and hash brown. The waffle was delicious with fresh blueberries and blueberry syrup. My mom LOVED her sweet potato pancakes with homemade cinnamon butter. The bad... some of the food was obviously precooked early in the morning. I understand that this is a vacation destination so they want to get people in and out fast and remaking popular sides makes it more efficient to turn tables but I'm very disappointed. Almost $7 for a side of bacon that was absolutely inedible. It was as chewy as a dog treat. The scrambled eggs also taste like a hotel continental breakfast... premade and my cheese was just sprinkled on top. The eggs weren't even hot enough to melt the cheese like they have been sitting prior to turning them into scrambled eggs and cheese. The hash brown again, tasted like it was precooked early that morning and just slapped on the plate when they received our ticket. The only thing hot and fresh were the pancakes and waffle. Everything else was a disappointment. We ordered a Greek burrito to go and my boyfriend said it tasted alright. Our server was lovely but we probably won't be back if we are ever in the mood for breakfast again. Hopefully we can find somewhere that provides made to order during the rest of our trip. Also the orange juice is NOT fresh squeezed and they overcharge you. Highway Robbery and dishonest. Amazing breakfast spot !! Our server Maria was the absolute best , personable, funny and even sang to us even though we had stopped in at an incredibly busy breakfast rush. We have a normal breakfast spot closer to home but felt like trying something new. The restaurant was clean , food amazing and the service was second to none. Great breakfast place with all the regular items plus lots of specialties too. Numerous awards from lots of papers and travel sites. We had a great waitress who handled our group of 14 like a pro. Every order was right too! All the pancakes and fancy French toast dished were well presented and attractive. Oh and tasted great too. I had the best in town corn beef hash and multi grain pancakes. Wherever possible everything was hormone free, non GMO fresh and locally grown. Many of the sweeter breakfasts had thick and creamy homemade whipped cream. It was a desert unto itself! They also serve fresh squeezed orange juice and many kinds of teas, juices and drinks. There are ocean themed murals on most walls giving it just the right vibe for a beach side diner. Wow! This restaurant was recommended to us by previous tenants where we are renting in Surfside Beach SC. We rode our bikes and arrived for brunch. The restaurant is clean, and the staff is amazingly friendly, especially our server, Donna. The owners have been in business for 46 years and she loves her job! It was recommended to us that we try the beignets and the cinnamon roll. We ordered both. Also the biscuits and gravy and some fried eggs. The food was outstanding. Donna was so attentive and kind. We usually go to the Golden Egg but I was drawn in by Mimosas lol. And the promise of a good Gyro. They're busy like most breakfast spots down here but we were able to get in in a decent amount of time and with a party of 10 they were able to seat us together which I was pretty impressed by. I told them we'd be fine splitting up if we had to. No need :-) I did try a mimosa and it was yummy and cute with the umbrella touch. I also had a gyro and it was very good - but not the best... The cucumber sauce was lacking even though I asked for extra. It wasn't as chunky as I liked but it was still tasty. That sauce can make or break a gyro. I feel the prices here are also a little higher than some of the other places, but my son swears this is his favorite because of his banana split waffle he can't stop talking about. So the restaurant I work at had a meeting on Saturday, there was some things that were bothering me about us as waitresses tipping out over $1,000 each a month to staff that were being paid cash under the table off the books ( confirmed 13 an hour by 1 employee). It bothered me so I addressed it in the meeting. We generally get text messaged our schedules on Sunday. All the girls I work with said I was brave and said all the things they were scared to because they're not in a position to lose their jobs, but either was I. However I wasn't okay with being taken advantage of for almost a year. So I text the head waitress to send me a picture of the schedule when it was posted as I have done since I started. Nick the owner OMEGA PANCAKE HOUSE had her text me and tell me I am no longer on the schedule. Would you take this text as you were fired? Just curious what people would think if they were on the receiving end of this? Good for thought. They leave the bacon out all night, charge you 6.25 for orange juice bought from Costco/Sam's club, soda machine was cleaned maybe a handful of times the year I worked here.oh ya if you want breakfast heated up in the microwave this is definitely the spot for you. But for $15 I'd definitely expect my food not to be reheated. This was so embarrassing as a waitress. If I had a section in the back they could see the microwave in the kitchen and were definitely in view of staff microwaving their food. The girls that wait the tables are amazing that's the ONLY good thing I have to say about thisbplace. . Also he had us tipping out his expo which is back of the house. Who are also being paid 13 plus an hour under the table. Don't forget waitresses make 2.13 an hour which we don't see as we pay taxes. He refuses to let us see our daily report of our sales and loud and clear that we are not allowed to look at our credit card tips. Shady business practices all around. I've been in the restaurant business in 4 different states and I have never not had a sales report at the end of the day or been told I'm not allowed to see it. So he tells us you must tip out these people being paid under the table with your tips. And if you challenge him he tells you there's the door. The only reasonable reason I can come up with is that for some reason he doesn't want us to see our sales or tips is because he's not giving us the tips we actually make. Why else would it be an issue for us to see this? Every other restaurant in America has you run a report of your sales at the end of your shift but he refuses to allow the staff to see this information. When he caught wind of this he was livid that I was "being sneaky" looking in the computer at my tips and sales. I was told by other waitresses to watch out for my paycheck stub as well. I personally had a check where he added over 100 dollars to the amount I had made that week. When I addressed it to the manager I was told to speak to Nick about it who wasn't in town and we didn't have his number to discuss issues like this with. honestly there's a lot of shady things going in in this company that make zero sense. So if you want to support this type of business practice that's your choice. And there's a lot more that I haven't written. But as Nick says. Karma. His day will come and I am taking the appropriate measures to make sure that this is reported to the appropriate authorities. However since it may take time I felt it was appropriate to also share here as I review a lot of establishments I go to and as you can see from my profile most 90% are positive except the ones that aren't. read more

Great food, better service. Like everything worth it around here, expect around a 45 minutes wait for a table but it's well worth it once you're seated. Our waitress had lots of personality and was more than attentive. The food was out fast and the prices were reasonable. We're on vacation so we decided to try the mega-mimosa's, I had the orange and my wife had the pina colada, our server was right, both were good but the pina colada was better. I had the Spanish omelette which was cooked perfect with tasty vegetables and sausage spread evenly throughout the omelette. Loved the salsa that came on top as well! This came with two sides so I went with a pancake and hash browns and both were excellent. My wife really enjoyed the red, white and blue waffle as well, said she would order again. The older boys enjoyed their cinnamon rolls enough to order an additional one to split and the youngest loved his French toast and sausage, which I can confirm was very good. Probably the best cappuccino I've ever had and I forgot to take a picture lol. Our hotel was close to Omega Pancake House so we passed it every day on our drive. The yelp rating and photos made me decide to give it a try. It wasn't very busy that morning so the hostess sat us immediately. The server came over and asked for drinks and if we wanted coffee. I didn't at first but after glancing at the menu I decided to give the French vanilla cappuccino with cinnamon a try. When it came out my first thought was "man that's a lot of cinnamon, I'm going to have a cinnamon mustache". After several sips it was amazing and I had to force myself to slow down and wait for my food. I ordered the Salmon Benedict with the egg fried hard and hash browns with a side order of French toast. I had the option to do 1, 2, or 3 slices for the French toast and I went with 2, which turned out to be a lot! My friend ordered the sweet potato pancakes with eggs, and a double order of hash browns instead of the meat. The food was soooo good! I'm pretty sure I did not breathe while eating. The side of hash browns really is a side portion but the Benedict was big. I did not finish the whole thing. The salmon could've been seasoned a little more and the sauce tasted a little mustardy but overall it was good. I was glad I ordered the French toast. It was honestly the best part. We returned to Omega this morning after dining here happily last fall. Our experience was equally enjoyable, and here's why... Arrived on a Sunday morning. Parking lit was full, but when we entered, we were cheerfully greeted and promptly seated. Our server, Donna, was attending to other customers, so one of her coworkers promptly brought us menus to peruse. Donna (our server) arrived shortly thereafter, introduced herself, and took our drink order. She was the epitome of Southern hospitality, and we came to find out later that she's worked there for 17 years and the business has been around for nearly 45 years... a testament in itself! I am not an egg person, but if you are, your choices are endless. I, too, had a veritable bevy of choices and eventually settled on the lemon blueberry pancakes. They were divine! Loaded with fresh blueberries and drizzled with a thick lemony sauce... they may be the best blueberry pancakes I've tried to date. I was offered a choice of regular butter or homemade cinnamon butter (I opted for the latter, but these needed neither). Wow. Donna came & checked on us several times, and we walked away full & delighted. And we decided we need to return to try the non-breakfast part of the menu. Our food was delivered by someone else, but fortunately it was good. Our plates were cleared from the table by another staff person and we waited for 10 minutes for our waitress. My significant other and I decided to drop in for breakfast the next morning after Thanksgiving while on vacation. Our waitress was very bubbly and the customer service was phenomenal. She suggested fountain drinks to start with, but I suggested the "pina colada mimosa"! Let me tell you, very creamy and carbonated at the same time due to the champagne. If you're not a fan of pineapple then I suggest you try something different. It was alright to the taste. Now as far as the food, we could've passed. Nothing was good. Seems to me like the grills need to be shut completely down and scrubbed top to bottom. The food was tasteless. The Omega Pancake House offers a huge selection of breakfast choices as I have taken pictures of the menu. The Apple and Strawberry French Toast along with the various pancake choices were also spectacular. I also took several pictures of our breakfast choices. Good food and several choices mean very little without great service. Our waitress Samantha took great care of all ten and a half members of my family. We had a 1.5 year old little boy with us. We came in expecting to wait and immediately was sat with a large party. The service was amazing from the server and host. The food was cheap and delicious! All the food came out super fast and hot as well. The inside was beautifully decorated. It was the best breakfast experience I've had in a while. Only two minor complaints is the don't do basted/poached eggs for Benedict and the booths were a little worn. The menu is a little crowded since they serve breakfast, brunch and lunch. I ordered a meat lovers omelet with hash browns and a pancake. It was more then enough to fill me up. Went to Omega today for a beef gyro - been wanting one for a while and their sign says they have the best. Our waitress was nice, but she got our order very wrong. She fixed some of it, but the whole experience soured me, and we will not be returning. First of all, my sister wanted a chicken finger wrap - but instead of a (tortilla) wrap, she wanted it in a pita. She was told no substitutions. So she changed her order and got salmon eggs Benedict with grits. When her meal came, it had hash browns instead of grits. She told the waitress right away, and instead of leaving the plate so she could enjoy her warm entree, the waitress took the whole plate away and went back in the kitchen. By the time she returned with her plate with grits, the salmon eggs Benedict were cold and gelatinous. I ordered the beef and lamb gyro platter - which came with a small salad (emphasis on small), a few pita triangles, and was supposed to come with tzatziki sauce. My gyro came out as chicken (and I am not a fan of chicken). Even though I told her the chicken was not alright, she kinda twisted me to say I would eat it so she didn't have to make me wait. This was not what I was in the mood for. The gyro had a garlicky mayonnaise on it - not tzatziki sauce. So I asked our waitress if she could bring me some sauce. She brought out a tiny portion in a plastic cup and told me it was homemade. I have had tzatziki sauce before - and it is not mayonnaise based! This was awful - and it did nothing to help the horrid dryness of the chicken. Furthermore, she charged me $3.50 for it! I brought the receipt to the hostess, and told her I wasn't going to pay for it as it should have come with my meal. The waitress never mentioned she was going to charge me $3.50 for it. Also, I told the hostess that the waitress made the other mistakes (showing she got our orders wrong from the beginning - even though we spoke very clearly when we placed our orders). Instead of telling a manager, the hostess sent the waitress back out to tell me she can't/won't change the bill. I even told her that the tzatziki sauce was awful and it wasn't real - and she said the owner's mother makes a batch once a week and it was real. I have never had a mayonnaise based tzatziki sauce before. Anyway, the waitress said the owners make them charge for everything (even though it was supposed to be included on my gyro.). So I told her I was disappointed and I would not be returning. I left her an 18% tip (which is low for me), and I paid the $61.00 bill (I was treating my Mom and sister to lunch), and left the restaurant - never to return. I am a reasonable person - and I was calm and polite all the way through - but the restaurant's management apparently doesn't care if the patrons have an unpleasant experience. I won't be back - and I hope others can learn from our visit and skip this place next time they have a hunger. read more

Came here with a few friends and would not return. We waited 20 minutes to get our drink as and another 10 for the waitress to take our orders. Food kept getting mixed up and half of it was burnt from the heat lamp :( My eggs were not cooked, and they still made me pay for them. The waitress seemed nice enough but two different (bigger grouped) tables came in before us and got served before us. we ended up waiting an hour a half to get a little bit of our food. Manager was nice enough when trying to fix my eggs but my friends were waiting for ten minutes for me to finish eating because we were there for two hours before my food even came out.
