Food wise, this place clearly has its hits and misses. My first visit I ordered the sweet potato pancakes and they were great. The next day I ordered the Cinnamon Roll French Toast with strawberries and whip cream. It was so good that syrup was not needed. This place had some of the best turkey bacon we've ever tried, so crispy. The first visit our server was Sam & she was great! Scrambled Kitchen is a cool breakfast and brunch cafe in the Carolina Forest section of Myrtle Beach. The servers are quite efficient and they all seem to help each other out with each table. They have a nice selection of Mimosas and other brunch cocktails available. My wife had one called The Myrtle which she said was mediocre. We came for breakfast and we had high expectations but unfortunately it wasn't anything that was memorable. I had a Chorizo Omelette with grits and sourdough bread. The grits were stone ground which I love. They were creamy and delicious. The omelette had a good amount of chorizo and thinly sliced jalapeños but what killed it was the it was cooked to death. I don't recall ever having a dryer omelette. My wife had the same opinion on her Bacon & Cheese omelette saying it was overcooked. Hers was also not very cheesy. She loved the potatoes though. I ordered the Forest bowl and it was well done and delicious. However, the hollandaise that it was described as having never made it to the bowl, and the server didn't return so I could ask for it. I do feel the cheese could've been distributed better, as one bite of the dish had a clump of melted cheese, and that was it. I ordered a single sweet potato pancake, as they had "single pancake" on the menu for $4. My friend got a short stack of two pumpkin pancakes, a menu special. When the bill came, she was up charged $2 for pumpkin and I was up charged $3 for pumpkin, which I didn't even order. Also, I got one pancake and she got two, yet my up charge was more. Tried to get the server's attention for several minutes, but she was busy chatting. Finally, she explains it and it just doesn't make sense. I stated how misleading it was and how it wasn't explained, and she simply said yes, that's the way it is. I also said how do less pancakes get a higher upcharge than a single one and she says well, you also got the caramel, pecans, and whipped cream. I said so did my friend, and you didn't ask if I wanted that. That experience ruined me ever going back. The fact that she didn't see the logic and how misleading it was and make it right. Not sure what was going on in her life today, but not the best. Made zero suggestions about options for GF. Ordered food. Had to flag her down on multiple occasions to get water and drink refills. It wasn't busy, she just was nowhere to be found. Other servers smiled and interacted with their tables. Had to pull out wallet and card in hand to indicate that we were ready for bill. Serving size was enormous. Even my husband who eats a lot couldn't finish everything. I liked their coffee a lot. I usually find coffee to be weak in many places but today's coffee was flavorful. As locals I'd never been through here. Wanted to grab some breakfast and have a manmosa so we sought a place close by. The atmosphere and layout is cool and fancy. We sat at the bar. The service was great and attentive. The flight of mimosas was hand made and detailed and so good. The food came out in great timing. I got steak and eggs and asked for medium rare, and it was cooked to that. And the presentation and layout of the plating, was great. Rotten avocado toast, dry inedible sausage, eggs were disgusting dry flat "scrambled eggs" French toast didn't seem cooked it was like regular bread soggy horrid. Gluten free pancakes were inedible. This was our 2nd try the first time it was bad but new but I see they got worse. Eggs up or bagel factory definitely sticking to them.
