Small coffee house chain with a few locations in the Carolinas. It's better than average with lots of seasonal drink offerelings. I'd recommend it a lot more for drinks than for baked goods or breakfast sammiches. Prices are in line with Starbucks for drinkable and edible items. And no, I don't mean 420 edibles. Overall, think Starbucks, but without the corporate feel. It can get busy here in the morning. If you're in a hurry, consider calling ahead to order. Inside and outdoor seating available. It does have a couple of tvs too, which is kinda different for a coffee house.

A nice coffee spot with friendly staff. Had the Tiramisu latte, which was different but good.

We are a family owned small batch roastery with a mission to transform the way you experience coffee.

I have been anticipating the opening of Knowledge Perk as it is the first local coffee shop to open in this area of Carolina Forest.

There are only a few tables, but they aren't cramped. You order at the counter and just take a seat, and your food and drinks will be served to you. I'd guess there's only two people working here on a random weekday. Expect your food to take a bit, but it's completely fresh, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were large but balanced. I often can't finish sweet crepes due to getting sugar'd out. This one felt very focused on the fruit and allowing the Nutella to take a passenger, enhancing vibe instead. Omelette was cheese-central. I might ask for lighter cheese next time, but it was ridiculously delicious too. Croissants were SUPER light and fluffy, and they get served warm for you. Really tasty, perfectly baked. Bathroom was a single unisex room and older, but it was clean. Two booths that'll seat four people as well as multiple two-person tables with wooden, no-armed chairs. No stairs, and while it'd be a tight fit, a wheelchair could fit in here. (I don't think the bathroom is wheelchair accessible, though.) The guy running the place wasn't super friendly, but he wasn't *unfriendly*, and he was very efficient. He also popped in to see if we needed things and was there to deliver silverware and other things before we asked for them. If staff reads this: please replace/update the folded, faded paper signs on the outside of the building. That's part of why we haven't given this place a try in so long - and I'm sad we hadn't!

Honestly, the matcha wasn't my favorite part of the experience. I personally prefer a stronger, more intense matcha flavor, and this one was a little lighter than what I usually like. That being said, pretty much everything else was fantastic. The service was amazing from the moment we walked in. The place is beautiful, and even the music stood out to me. It just had a really good vibe overall. I also loved how extensive the menu is. I went for breakfast, but what caught my attention is that you can order pretty much anything at any time. It's not one of those places where you're limited to breakfast items in the morning. I ordered the Tropical Bowl, and wow. It was honestly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The coconut lime rice was packed with flavor, the shrimp were cooked perfectly, and there was a sauce on top that tied everything together. The avocado was perfectly ripe, the seasoning was spot on, and the pickled onions and pineapple pico de gallo added so much freshness to the dish. Every bite just worked. I also learned that the owner attended culinary school in Cape Town, South Africa, and spent years cooking while traveling around the world. It was interesting to see how some of those global influences show up on the menu. Even the name "Lekker" comes from a South African word that's often used to describe something delicious or enjoyable, which felt pretty fitting after that meal. They also have pastries, specialty coffee drinks, brunch options, lunch items, and even cocktails. The menu is huge, and there's honestly something for everyone. I also tried a lavender latte with almond milk, and it was excellent. Between the food, the coffee, the atmosphere, and the service, this ended up being one of my favorite stops during my time in Myrtle Beach. If you're visiting Myrtle Beach, this is definitely a place worth checking out.
