Bossy Hen had a great atmosphere this saturday morning. There was a short wait as we had a party of 5, but we were seated promptly. Service was a bit slow as it was so busy, but that's just brunch during the off season. The food was pretty good, not the best, but the PRICES were great. Service and ambience is impeccable. We went at breakfast. It was quick. Food was hot presented well and was good plenty of condiments on the table my friend and I both got the waffles with eggs and bacon. I could not eat it all so they are not stingy. A very weak 3 stars. The brioche French toast lacked and flavor or love and was cold, the sausage was kind of bland nothing special same for the so called apple wood smoked bacon. The gritts with cheddar were excellent as were the scrambled eggs. Coffee was also very bitter. Our waitress did a great job of taking care of us even though it's in season with a lot of tourists. As for the ambiance the restaurant is very casual, clean and you're able to have a conversation even though the restaurant might be crowded. read more

The food and ambiance were pretty cool although nothing jumped out at me. It was previously the Hot Stacks pancake house but I never got a chance to go there when it was that. The waitress did tell me that the place was still owned by the same people and they just changed the name. I think they were trying to make it a bit more upscale. I see that a lot in other places. The food was not as desirable as I expected. The pumpkin pancakes were a joke. Service was average. The ambience was cozy with an average noise level. The decorations were modern and bright. I do not have a reason to return to this restaurant. I could have enjoyed a better meal for a cheaper price at several different restaurants. read more

Those of you who are vegan have quite a few options as they have a section of plant based choices on their menu. As for me, I'm a meat eater and they have plenty of options in that category as well. We were a group of five and we all got something different. Our grandson had the Chocolate Chip Short Stack which was quite messy but he enjoyed it. The Eggs Benedict was good but a little small in my opinion. The Applewood Smoked Bacon was crispy. Everything was brought out by our server quite quickly considering the restaurant had quite a few people there. Overall, it's a good choice for breakfast or brunch. read more

Stop in for a late breakfast, when we asked for a booth the girl at the counter looked lost when she had to pick a spot to seat us. Another hostess had to step and assist us. The coffee was very weak and didn't really have any flavor. I ordered 2 eggs over medium and came closer to over easy. The hash brown casserole was horrible, under cooked and once again no flavor. The waitress was very slow on been helpful. Some neighbors recommended this place for a good breakfast so we stopped by. It's a very bright and cheery place with lots of fake flora on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. We were seated right away by friendly staff and our wait staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered drinks and breakfast as the orange juice was so good! I had crab cakes hollandaise -it was good-really fishy but the eggs were done perfectly. My friend ordered the corned beef hash with eggs. The corned beef was not made in house but it was fine. Thus was our first time here and it was better than expected. Our waitress was BUSY, so we had a few empty cups but it's okay. The place was packed full of people and had a very clean, elegant flair to it inside. The Nutella pancakes are DELICIOUS and my husband bragged on the "crunch" pancakes. The coffee was decent--a little bitter and a little like burnt caramel but drinkable. Overall not a bad experience but I do feel like there are places I would definitely reach for first. It's definitely going into my family's rotation for our MB visit. read more

We love a tasty breakfast cafe and this one was just what we wanted! This cafe is clean; customer service is excellent and the food is delicious. We visited on a Sunday morning (around 11am) and got seated right away. Brandy our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered the trash hash which despite the name was so good! We also had an American breakfast with French toast and corned beef hash. We didn't have coffee but they do offer the flavored creamers which is always a plus for me. If you're visiting this area add Hot Stacks Cafe to your list for breakfast. They also offer a few non breakfast items. read more

But that was overshadowed by the owner Peter strongly making passes at her the entire time he was back there and every time he was back there! He must be 3 times her age! This was such a nice experience from the time we entered the door until we finished our food. They have the traditional options plus all the good healthy stuff and some specialty dishes as well. I had eggs with turkey sausage and fruit while Hubby had the salmon toast special. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I'd love to come back for the crabcake Benedict shown on the specials board. The presentation was great and service first rate. I noticed that even the butter said grass fed and they offer vegan options on the menu and free range eggs.
