Iced coffee was also too sweet for me so I added a shot of espresso. The potatos could use a bit more cook to get crispy. The cinnamon roll pancakes said 3 stack but only one large one came out. My nephew was happy regardless. $100 for a family of 5 after tip and taxes. More than I expected but that's vacation! This is my 2nd visit to this restaurant. It was kind of nostalgic for me because it was the first breakfast place that my husband and I visited as a couple. The ironic thing is that the waitress actually sat us at the same table that we ate at on our 1st visit...unbeknownst to her, of course. The food was just as good as I remember. I had the egg platter with lots of meat...ham, bacon, and 2 types of sausage. The bacon was crispy, and the sausages were savory. I really enjoyed this breakfast platter. My husband enjoyed his corned beef a lot. The staff was so nice and attentive. I recommend coming to this breakfast eatery whenever you are in N Myrtle Beach. read more

We are in Myrtle Beach SC with Best Bud since 5th grade (When dinosaurs ruled the Earth!) and his wife. Spent the morning on the beautiful beach soaking up sun. Late breakfast so he planned a stop at his favorite breakfast / brunch spot. Arrived around 1:30, well before 3:00 pm close, and seated right away. Our server, Kimberly, brought drinks and menus. My friend's wife ordered a Greek Omelette with a side of Cheesy Hash Browns. My friend chose Eggs and Bacon with Hash Browns and a pancake. My wife wanted Eggs with Bacon and a Boston Cream Pancake. I wanted to try the Trash Hash, a bowl of Hash Browns, covered with Corned Beef Hash, Eggs and Sausage Gravy with a Pancake. Did I mention we were very hungry since Cereal was 8 hours ago? Food came and it was all delicious. My Trash Hash was wonderful, a great combination, especially with a handful of kicking Jalapeños. My wife, naturally, loved the Boston Cream pancake. I tried a bite but too much sugar for moi. Kimberley kept our coffee and water flowing and stopped frequently to check on us. Great food, great service, quiet & friendly atmosphere. We visit Hot Stacks every time we come to NMB (multiple times per vacation). We have tried other breakfast places because there are a plethora of them around, but we are often disappointed. Hot Stacks is consistent, the service is great, and it has that small town diner feel. I always feel so welcome and leave full and happy no matter what I get to eat. read more

I am giving a five star review not only based on my most recent visit but includes our prior visits in the last few months . On average we may eat at Hot Stacks once a month. Each visit had been consistent with cleanliness, good service and quality of food . They can get very busy with a wait but worth it . They deliver hot, good breakfast in a clean, friendly, well run atmosphere. We had the fried pork chops with eggs and shredded hash browns, bacon, sausage , eggs, grits , and a pancake. All items were fresh and hot on a very cold beach morning. The grits are always good with a large portion and the hash browns were crisp and perfect. Also you don't have to wait for toast, butter or another condiment to be delivered like other places. They make sure you have everything so that you can enjoy your hot breakfast that is cooked to order. I rate them above other similar pancake houses in the beach area due to their consistency to deliver a good meal each visit for the price. read more

We are locals. With all of the really good breakfast places around, we would avoid this one. We went in at about 11 and the place wasn't busy. The atmosphere was typical breakfast house, nothing special. Our waitress was MIA most of the time and never took care of us. She completely ignored us after taking our order. Never checked on us again, left us sitting with dirty plates for 15 minutes, didn't bring the check, we had to get a kitchen person to bring boxes for leftovers to take home to the dogs. Visiting South Carolina during the virus shutdown but was fortunate enough to be visiting at the time when the restaurants were opening back up so we came here on the recommendation of some family members who have eaten here before. The place is big and spacious so no need to worry about sitting on top of someone else even if they weren't spacing people 6 feet apart. The waitress was friendly and quick with the service of our beverages. The wife, the sister, and the brother-in-law got regular meals of meat, eggs, grits, and pancakes and all were very please. My sister says these are her favorite pancakes. I thought Cracker Barrel were her favorites so they must be good. I was the oddball of the group ordering Shrimp n' grits. I usually get shrimp n' grits at higher end restaurants with their sauce. The ones here are made the way us regular folks would eat them on the bayou or anyone else in the south. Just a basic bowl of grits with some shrimp, jalapeños, and cheese. Tasted fine but a little too heavy on the peppers first thing in the morning. Aye, aye, aye. Hard to quench heat with coffee. We had a group of 8 so we swung by for breakfast because they had available seating and we were hungry, but we overall had a super uncomfortable experience and definitely would not come back. We were seated immediately and our waitress greeted us and took orders. One member of our group has a severe nut allergy so she informed the waitress and asked what was safe on the menu to eat. The waitress said she didn't know, and that she would find out. She then called over another employee and asked her to find out if the waffle mix had nuts. Unfortunately, the other employee did not seem to understand what she was asking, perhaps because English was not her first language. The waitress made a big deal at the table of repeating herself to the other employee quite loudly, as if speaking loudly would somehow magically allow the other employee to comprehend her words. After the other employee (understandably) didn't understand a second time, our waitress made a big deal out of how she was going to the back to check herself because she couldn't trust anyone else. It was honestly a really uncomfortable situation for all of us and it was unfortunate that the waitress chose to be rude and condescending instead of perhaps rephrasing herself and using body language so that she would be easier to understand. The fact that she chose to do it right next to our table was even worse. When the food came out, everyone agreed it was alright, but most of us didn't eat much since we just wanted to leave. They also couldn't determine if anything was nut free or not handled with nuts so they could only offer a bowl of strawberries, which was unfortunate. We didn't have high standards coming in, but the sheer unprofessionalism of the place definitely made us all want to leave immediately. I would definitely recommend finding somewhere else to eat. read more
