Warm greeting, immediate seating, and super-sweet tea. The seats were a bit worse for wear, with rips and lumps on the benches, but the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the waitresses were hustling. The coffee is good and the pancakes are fluffy, light, crispy, and heavenly. The eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked and delectable. One caveat: avoid the "home fries". I don't know what they were supposed to be, but they were scabrous, undercooked, and not at all appetizing. They were soggy and mushy and not even hot. Spring for the add-on fee for hash browns. Luckily, the Benedict was sufficient to fill my belly, so I wasn't too sad about the potatoes. If you want to hit one of the 4000 pancake places in Myrtle Beach, I recommend this one. read more

We ordered takeout while visiting nearby. I ordered the Florentine Omelet with spinach, tomato and feta cheese, and my husband got their French toast platter made with the thick slices of Challah bread. He really loved the french toast, but I was greatly disappointed with my omelet. Immediately, I noticed an off scent when I opened my takeout box, and once I tasted the omelet, I could tell that the feta cheese was sour and rancid. It ruined my whole meal. I would think that there would be better quality control in the kitchen that would take spoiled food out of rotation, and not up ending in someone's plate. I'm glad that I did not get sick from this event, and I hope that going forward that they are more careful and consistent with serving quality ingredients to their customers. read more

We came in looking for an host there wasn't anyone around. We tried to use the bathroom. An old lady with a serving apron on started yelling at us in front of everyone waiting. Then this old (winded bag of lady)(short brownish black haired) was persistent on yelling at us and when we told her that we were waiting to be seen. She rolled her baggy eyes and kept walking saying whatever I know. She was very spiteful. I visited Carolina Pancake House when a group of friends and myself travelled to Myrtle Beach for the Myrtle Beach Marathon weekend. The restaurant was a block from our hotel, close to the start/finish of the race, the prices were very reasonable for the portions, and the menu included lots of options- from large plates to smaller items for those who weren't super hungry after running. The restaurant's atmosphere is like a diner and very simple but it gets the job done. We arrived on Saturday morning around 11 and were seated immediately. The service was great, with the wait staff keeping our drinks and coffee filled. I had the tomato, spinach, and feta omelet, and chose a short stack as my side item. The short stack of pancakes was almost a meal in itself, and the omelet took up the entire plate- for only $7.95. Most everything on the menu was under $10. I was impressed by the portions and price, but also by the food itself. The pancakes were fluffy, large, and hot. The omelet had the tomatos and spinach cooked into the eggs, with the feta in the middle. My friend had a ham and cheese omelet and his was made similarly, with the ham cooked into the eggs rather than inside the omelet. Everything came out quickly, including the to-go boxes we needed. If you're in Myrtle Beach to run a marathon- or just happen to have a marathon sized appetite- you can't go wrong at Carolina Pancake House. read more

Carolina Pancake House is a quiet little spot just outside of these resorts off the Main Street. Surprisingly we were able to get in and get a quick bite on the way out of town. The breakfast meal (choose an entree and add eggs and a protein) was very filling and satisfying for a VERY reasonable price. The service is also very much friendly. The atmosphere: very low key, relaxing and no rush attitude. Great for if you want to slow down life for a bit to eat but not good if you need to be in a rush! The people: awesome staff, all very personable. I came here for breakfast two days in a row and the workers each day were happy and smiling. Made for an great overall experience. The food: for the price and quantity and if you want something better than the crap buffers around- this place is a must. Everything was cooked fantastically and flavorful that allowed me to skip on lunch each day. I went with a meet lovers skillet on the first day, and on the second day just went with a classic eggs, toast and fruit. Old school classic pancake house. No frills, just comfort breakfast food. Appearance wise it is somewhat worn and dated looking. Plus an old smell was prevalent in the air, even I could detect it and my smell sensory is low. Service was friendly from all with a nice greet at the door, and by my server thru out. With the usual breakfast menu of eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles and more there is plenty to choose. After a hot cup of coffee was served, I ordered a bacon & cheese omelet and side stack of pancakes. The food arrived in less than 10min, and appropriately hot. I loved the golden pancakes, they were hot, griddled just right and pillowy soft. The slight hint of vanilla was noticed, which made it better. My omelet was just average, but overcooked. The bacon was not noticeable in taste, even though there were bits throughout. I was expecting a fluffy, rolled omelet filled with bacon. Instead I had an overcooked, flat, tasteless omelet. Bummer. With so many breakfast houses in Myrtle Beach, this one is worthy of consideration. They definitely strived with good customer service, and a good comfort menu. On vacation and glad we tried this restaurant for breakfast/lunch. Group of 8 had a 20 minute wait. Service by Ms Fiori was exceptional. She was super friendly, personable, humorous and accommodating. Any servers who interact with my kids get a gold star from me. We had the following and everything was delicious: stuffed French toast topped with FRESH fruit, crab and veggie omelette (not on the menu but requested and granted), turkey sausage, pancakes, eggs, home fries, wings, cheeseburger and fries. We waited 20 mins for a party of 5 to sit. We were finally offered a booth with a chair on the end. We declined as that would be elbow to elbow. We waited another 5 mins, a new family of 5 came in and was immediately sitted in a corner booth. My husband spoke up and said we have been waiting. She said she was cleaning a bigger table for us in the back. Yet again another family came in, as the waitress came to the front she said follow me, the new family already standing follwed her and she sat them at the table suppose to be getting ready for us. She then came back and laughed at us. She thought it was so funny! They then tried to sit as at the same exact table we already said no to. To make the matter worse all 3 cashiers at the front was just laughing at our family. I will no longer feel comfortable eating here. read more

Crab Florentine *should* have a sunny side egg with hollandaise, crab patty, and an English muffin. This was a boiled egg, crab, English muffin and odd yellow sauce that tasted pretty funky (I scraped it off). The pancakes were fluffy, but also kind of off. Yelp has never done me wrong, but the reviews here are misleading. Skip it and get a bagel instead (Sorry Carolina). read more

The only saving grace for this place is that it was open at 3:30am and was within walking distance to my hotel. After an evening of Halloween debauchery, I stopped back at my hotel to change and asked if anything for food was open because I was starving... you know that drunk kind of starving where you will pretty much eat gas station hot dogs if they're available. I find out from the front desk that this is the only game in town within stumbling distance so my friend and I decide to take a journey. Surprisingly, there were some other patrons there but, they were less drunk and more old with a side of loneliness. Our waitress was a sweetheart and the service was up to snuff. A little slow considering there were about 3 or 4 tables at the whole place but, I was happy to be eating. I went with a simple combo of pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs. The pancakes were... pancakes, the eggs were edible, but the bacon tasted like it was cooked in, on, or around seafood... weird because I don't event think they serve seafood. Typically alcohol heightens the taste bud sensors turning even the most average plate into unicorn meat drizzled with truffle butter - not in this case. On my walk back I felt troubled and started re-evaluating my life choices to that point and then all of a sudden... Poof! I woke up back in my cozy hotel room like nothing ever happened. read more

Summary: Great service, real food, decent prices. The service was very friendly and we were seated right away. The menu was very similar to most of the other breakfast style places in Myrtle Beach. Pancakes, French toast, waffles...anything breakfast you want is there for you. The biggest difference was the food all tasted fresh and real. The eggs tasted like real eggs, not some powder egg mess that you'd get in a service kitchen. The meat was good and not overly greasy. I'm boring so toast is my favorite, it was pretty darn good here. Another nice thing was the prices, very reasonable. Not just reasonable for a tourist town, reasonable for any place. That was a great bonus to the good toast. We went twice in a week after trying other places. We will return on our next trip. They also have the "Breakfast souvenir photo" that other places offer. Some people act like they are to good for the free picture but we actually got a kick out of it. We even bought a set on our second trip. Carolina pancake house service was very nice, sat us down right away. I ordered a Carolina special with two pancakes, two eggs scrambled hard , and two sausage links. The pancakes wasn't cook through the middle taste like raw batter. the eggs had no flavor and when I asked for cheese scrambled into the eggs, they just put the cheese on top of the eggs. They have a large menu with breakfast and lunch options. Lunch was advertised as being served anytime. My husband & I had pancakes & french toast. The fried eggs were cooked perfectly. Turkey sausage was moist and good. The hashbrowns weren't crispy though and my husband's vanilla iced coffee was way too sugary. Our waitress was very nice and personable, though I feel was running a lot between too many tables. Took a bit of time to get a refill on coffee. Overall the food was good, though I think they could use more staff. I noticed the hostess running off clearing tables and getting drinks in between seating people. read more

Not at all busy on a Saturday morning, but I thinks that's more that we are early risers. They were very acclimating even with our stroller that we walked up with. I ordered the Carolina pancake special-2 pancakes and while on the menu they are plain you can modify them to any of the pancakes so I chose the Hawaiian style, which comes with pineapple and coconut. Who wouldn't want dessert for breakfast? It also came with two eggs and two slices of bacon or sausage. My husband also ordered the same but got the plain pancakes. The coffee was good and fresh and I liked that they left a carafe on the table so we could refill our cups. The food came quickly and everything was delicious. The bacon was crispy, which I loved, and the eggs were definitely fresh and real. Sometimes places use the liquid or bagged eggs and it never tastes the same. The Hawaiian style pancakes were absolute perfection. I'm a ditz and at one point poured coffee on my pancakes instead of syrup (even though the carafe doesn't look alike at all). Though slightly soggier it actually didn't taste bad with the additional coffee flavoring. Our waitress was great and took good care of us. You pay up front at the register which works fine for me because then you aren't waiting for the waitress. Wonderful place. Really great customer se RV I've both on the phone when we called and when we were seated there. We had a party of 7 and they didn't skip a beat with service. Easy parking, easy ordering and the food came out quick. Why only 4 stars then? Well the decor and cutlery and plates felt beaten and used. It's time for renovations. This event is from 3 years ago. But we still talk about it to this day. We had excellent service, food and atmosphere. Definitely try the French toast! Not only did we receive all of the above but we also received help that was above and beyond all expectations. We were leaving the area in the Dorian evacuation and had breakfast at Carolina Pancake House before we entered into the crazy traffic back home. It was a long two hours of bumper to bumper traffic before I realized that I had left my purse with valuables inside. I immediately called them and spoke to Fiora. She instantly put me at ease and assured me she would mail my purse once the hurricane passed. She stayed in contact with me through text the whole time and today when I arrived home from work I had a package waiting for me containing my purse with all of my belongings. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Should i really give this one star? Honestly, me and my family were just hoping to spice it up and go somewhere new, when we got there however; we were greeted with a wait time of 15mins for drinks, with an empty parking lot (only cars likely being those of employees). So after we received our drinks and ordered our food we then had a thirty minute wait time for our food, mind you, in this dining area there was only 3 other family's. once we received our waffles i felt a sort of timid anguishing gut feeling telling me that this meal was going to be horrible, just by how sad and soggy it looked. but still, we daringly took a bite of our food. me and my significant other venturously finished our meals. we got the chocolate chip waffles to play it safe but it appeared we were not. our family, ordered eggs AND waffles, to which they ate most of (shockingly). the whole time we were there we weren't talked to by the waitress whatsoever. personally i didn't want to take that disrespect, but we did, hoping maybe she'd only forgotten and will remember shortly, she did not. to start with, the waffles were all so incredibly watery (?) and dry all at one somehow, with maybe 5 chocolate chips in each, topped with a nice regretful sprinkle of powdered sugar. plastered on to almost mock us. the only good thing that they offered was perhaps the strawberry's on one of our waffles, but i didn't dare take a bite. i won't even comment on the eggs because i think they were rotten enough to speak for themselves. don't go here. don't fill yourself with the disgraceful wasteful meal. read more
