Western Omelette with grits and Carolina Special
Mande B.

Wanted a breakfast place and ended up here, so it was a genuine game of restaurant roulette! Turned out to be a decent choice. Nice menu with lots of options. Plates were large and had a good amount of food. Coffee was good. Grits were okay, nothing special. Real butter instead of "Land O Lakes Buttery Taste Spread" would have helped.

Stay away from the "home fries" but don't miss the Benedict or those amazing pancakes.

Warm greeting, immediate seating, and super-sweet tea. The seats were a bit worse for wear, with rips and lumps on the benches, but the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the waitresses were hustling. The coffee is good and the pancakes are fluffy, light, crispy, and heavenly. The eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked and delectable. One caveat: avoid the "home fries". I don't know what they were supposed to be, but they were scabrous, undercooked, and not at all appetizing. They were soggy and mushy and not even hot. Spring for the add-on fee for hash browns. Luckily, the Benedict was sufficient to fill my belly, so I wasn't too sad about the potatoes. If you want to hit one of the 4000 pancake places in Myrtle Beach, I recommend this one.

Food had no taste and/or flavor. Omelette arrived burned and tasted like rubber. Toast was charred. Coffee was OK. 2nd Visit - Wow, has this place gone down the tubes. Won't be coming back again.

bacon, eggs, and pancakes

Wanted pancakes on last morning. Service was welcoming and very efficient. Decor is mom and pops and seats are old but clean. Menu is basic and food is what is expected at a mom and pop pancake house. Food was seasoned well and pancakes had great flavor. Would come back again.

It has been a few months since I went there, so I'm a little short on details. It was packed when I went and the restaurant was very large. They have a big menu and because of it, there's not a lot of stuff that is totally outstanding. However, there's nothing wrong with their food. I would go back, but it wasn't the best place ever.

Spinach, tomato, and feta omelet

I visited Carolina Pancake House when a group of friends and myself travelled to Myrtle Beach for the Myrtle Beach Marathon weekend. The restaurant was a block from our hotel, close to the start/finish of the race, the prices were very reasonable for the portions, and the menu included lots of options- from large plates to smaller items for those who weren't super hungry after running. The restaurant's atmosphere is like a diner and very simple but it gets the job done. We arrived on Saturday morning around 11 and were seated immediately. The service was great, with the wait staff keeping our drinks and coffee filled. I had the tomato, spinach, and feta omelet, and chose a short stack as my side item. The short stack of pancakes was almost a meal in itself, and the omelet took up the entire plate- for only $7.95. Most everything on the menu was under $10. I was impressed by the portions and price, but also by the food itself. The pancakes were fluffy, large, and hot. The omelet had the tomatos and spinach cooked into the eggs, with the feta in the middle. My friend had a ham and cheese omelet and his was made similarly, with the ham cooked into the eggs rather than inside the omelet. Everything came out quickly, including the to-go boxes we needed. If you're in Myrtle Beach to run a marathon- or just happen to have a marathon sized appetite- you can't go wrong at Carolina Pancake House.

The atmosphere: very low key, relaxing and no rush attitude. Great for if you want to slow down life for a bit to eat but not good if you need to be in a rush! The people: awesome staff, all very personable. I came here for breakfast two days in a row and the workers each day were happy and smiling. Made for an great overall experience. The food: for the price and quantity and if you want something better than the crap buffers around- this place is a must. Everything was cooked fantastically and flavorful that allowed me to skip on lunch each day. I went with a meet lovers skillet on the first day, and on the second day just went with a classic eggs, toast and fruit. Overall, highly recommend for breakfast if you are in the area, i would absolutely to come back!

Old school classic pancake house. No frills, just comfort breakfast food. Appearance wise it is somewhat worn and dated looking. Plus an old smell was prevalent in the air, even I could detect it and my smell sensory is low. Service was friendly from all with a nice greet at the door, and by my server thru out. With the usual breakfast menu of eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles and more there is plenty to choose. After a hot cup of coffee was served, I ordered a bacon & cheese omelet and side stack of pancakes. The food arrived in less than 10min, and appropriately hot. I loved the golden pancakes, they were hot, griddled just right and pillowy soft. The slight hint of vanilla was noticed, which made it better. My omelet was just average, but overcooked. The bacon was not noticeable in taste, even though there were bits throughout. I was expecting a fluffy, rolled omelet filled with bacon. Instead I had an overcooked, flat, tasteless omelet. Bummer. With so many breakfast houses in Myrtle Beach, this one is worthy of consideration. They definitely strived with good customer service, and a good comfort menu. But the place could use a refreshing update on appearance inside and out.

On vacation and glad we tried this restaurant for breakfast/lunch. Group of 8 had a 20 minute wait. Service by Ms Fiori was exceptional. She was super friendly, personable, humorous and accommodating. Any servers who interact with my kids get a gold star from me. We had the following and everything was delicious: stuffed French toast topped with FRESH fruit, crab and veggie omelette (not on the menu but requested and granted), turkey sausage, pancakes, eggs, home fries, wings, cheeseburger and fries. Good prices, great portions. We'll be back tomorrow so I can try the Reeses waffle.

This is a special place for our family and visit each time we vacation in the Grand Strand. Fiori remembers us every time and engages in warm, welcoming southern conversation during our remarkable breakfasts. This is a family favorite and we look forward to sharing this experience with friends joining us on future vacations! The Bothast-Revalee Family Oxford, Ohio

We decided to sit at the bar. The server greeted us promptly, took our drink order, and gave us time to look over the menu. When she returned with our drinks, she explained the specials. My wife ordered the boneless rib roast (I believe that's what it was called) along with the asparagus soup. I ordered the deconstructed Wellington, cooked medium rare. When we arrived, there was only one other table, though a few more couples came in shortly after. I will say up front -- don't be in a hurry. They appear to cook one table at a time. Many of the entrées are served under a smoked dome, which I assume is for presentation. While it looked nice, it didn't add any flavor. My filet and the mushroom-stuffed puff pastry with demi-glace were served with the smoke, but the mashed potatoes and asparagus came on a separate plate. I didn't really understand this, as there was plenty of room to plate everything together. My wife's beef was served on top of her mashed potatoes in a bowl. The asparagus soup was ok needed some more seasoning for sure kind of bland wouldn't get it again. Once we started eating, my wife noticed her mashed potatoes weren't very hot. I checked mine and found that even in the center they were only warm. I asked the server for additional demi-glace since what I had was cold. While waiting, I cut into my steak. I first tried using the butter knife, which didn't work, and had to switch to the steak knife. The meat was cooked great and was tender, but slightly tougher than expected. When the demi-glace arrived, it was still not warm, so I asked for it to be heated again. The second time it came back steaming, which helped warm up both the potatoes. Overall, the food was good, but temperature was the main issue. I could understand this if multiple tables were being served at once, but we were sitting at the bar watching the kitchen, and only one table's food was being prepared at a time. There were two people cooking -- one handling apps and salads, and the other working on the main courses. Perhaps if they worked together, food could come out faster and hotter. That said, we will be back. The food itself was good, and several other dishes we saw going out to other tables looked very good as well. And the desserts sounded good. One star taken away because of the food temp. otherwise 5.

The kids enjoyed playing with the life-sized animatronic dinosaurs including a roaring T-Rex and a majestic Triceratops. The menu was filled with dinosaur themed foods. And If that steak is truly what the cavemen used to eat then they lived some pretty great lives back then. While we were eating, there was someone that came by and offered to take a photo for us. I thought they were with the restaurant but apparently they were not and after the pic, they said it would cost us 15 to print it. I think you should let the customer know that beforehand but that's just me. We got it but just wanted to give others a heads up so they dont get blindsided. Overall a great experience! Would definitely come back.

Unfortunately, this dinner just added to our frustration. We had a 6:15 reservation and waited quite a while before a server arrived. When she did, she was very kind and took our drink and appetizer orders. But everything moved so slowly -- drinks and app took ages, and we placed our dinner order not long after. By 7:30, we still had no food. The server kept apologizing (she really was kind and doing her best), but it was clear something was off in the kitchen or with management. Eventually someone else came over, offered 20% off, and said our meals were "plating now" -- but that wasn't true, because we waited another 20 minutes. We were ready to cancel, and when the food finally came, I honestly couldn't enjoy it at that point. My chicken sandwich was nothing special (definitely not worth the wait), and my mom's scallops were salty and just bad.
