Wonderful restaurant and staff! Breakfast or lunch is always delicious. The wait staff is attentive and the grill cooks never miss a beat!

Both the food and the service were very good. The onion rings may be the best I have ever eaten. read more

So yummy! It's very homey senior kinda place with lots of revisiting locals. Good food LOTS of butter! I wish there was a bit more flavor but honestly I understand their usual customer base doesn't want that . The sausage was a bit dry but everything else I got was stellar! read more

Sam is a great cook and so friendly with all of his customers. His staff has been with him for a long time and are excellent.

We have been past Sam's Place numerous times and decided to stop in to grab some brunch. It was a full house when we got there but didn't have much of a wait until we were seated. Service started out good but once our food arrived we didn't see our server until we received the check. It wasn't a big issue as we didn't need anything, but would have been nice if she had stopped by just to check on us. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with a side of grits. The eggs Benedict was really good. The eggs were poached perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was very creamy and seasoned well. The grits were very good with the right consistency for me (not runny but not like wallpaper paste). Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and would order it again. The hubs got the sausage and cheese omelette with grits and toast. You can get 2 pancakes instead of the toast but since he is very picky with his pancakes, he played it safe. He enjoyed his omelette but said he has had better grits. Overall, he said his meal was decent but wouldn't get the grits next time. We will definitely check this place out again but will order from the lunch side of the menu. read more

This has a typical "Greasy Spoon" vibe to it. I would say this is also one of the areas hidden gems. We've been coming down here for years and never knew about it until this visit. Staff was friendly. Restaurant looked clean but could use some touch ups with painting and decor. Food was delicious and great price. Also it was the right amount as well. read more

Can't review this place highly enough or too often. We hit this oasis of deliciousness every time we travel down and back up. They serve the most chock-full, freshest veggie omelet you could dream of. Service is always spot on. Just wish this place were where I live. But then I'd be a house, ha! We actually leave early from our home to make sure we get there before the restaurant closes and then have to wait hours for our hotel room's "check-in" hour. Well worth it! read more

Sam met us at door and was very welcoming. The breakfast was delicious. Will go back.

The service and food were good. I was put off by how dirty the bathroom and back room were. I wouldn't go back because of how dirty it was.

Great food and service. We had a late breakfast. We both had a Western Omelette, grits and pancakes. It was just enough portion wise and great. We were seated right away and food came out fast even though they were busy. read more

We were leaving North Myrtle Beach and needed breakfast. We were riding down 17 and saw Sam's Place so we made a U-Turn. I checked Yelp and saw they had good reviews so it was a no-brainer. First, the diner is small. But it's clean. There are a few tables and you can actually see the food being cooked. The staff had on masks but not the patrons. But being form Maryland we realized that South Carolina is way more laxed with the masks than we are. Anyway, Whoever was working the morning of Sunday, August 2nd, 2020 made sure that everything was running smoothly. The woman who took out order was friendly and patient while we looked over the menu. She answered our questions. I ordered a kids silver dollar pancake (4) and added a side of bacon. My boyfriend had the veggie omelette with cheese, bacon, toast, and grits. We both got sweet tea. The total was $18. Not bad. The good was cooked and ready super fast. Pancakes were fluffy and buttery. Bacon was great. Omelette and grits were good as well. No complaints. Thanks Sam's Place! read more

Almost committed the cardinal sin of showing up too late for a 6-2 place. I mean, no matter what your hours are, no matter what the hell you do, if you are getting off at 2, you don't need some joker walking in at 1:50 wanting service. I mean your shit is tired. I stepped into Sam's Place at 1:15. And to Sam's credit and both servers, no one gave me the stink-eye or the deadpan look of death. I ordered the Ham AND Turkey Club--because you can get just ham or just turkey. The mayo was understated so I didn't have to use a ream of napkins and the tomatos were FRESH. Holy Smokes! A bright red wedge of 'mater on each triangle of toasted bliss surprised me more than my server calling me "sugar", "sweetheart", and "honey". Actually, I wasn't all that surprised to be called those endearing names. Wouldn't you tip generously if someone called you "sugar"? I sure did. Place was packed, service was exceptional--these folks know their bidness. My server said, when I asked what she would do when she got off, "I'm going home, sit in my chair, and watch movies." Sounds like a plan. read more

We are a group of ROMEOS (Retired old men eating out sometimes) We've tried at least 12 different places in or near N.Myrtle Beach. We meet for breakfast every Wed. morning. Sam's is a great little place that has become our local favorite as of late. Great prices, great food, great fast service, this local gem is hard to beat for a good reasonably priced breakfast! Great Lunches as well. read more

Service and food were below par. With that it would be a while before we tried again The check became a problem. Overcharged and when error was pointed out they came up with a silly story Now, we will never go back read more

Servers in the restaurant could not have been more friendly. Food was very good and was also very reasonable. We were there for breakfast and had five people. Everyone enjoyed there meal. This is the kind of place I want to support with a good review. The lady serving was super nice. And I assume it's family owned. Unfortunately it isn't very clean and the cooks were constantly shouting at each other. There are simply too many other places to go to that are better. read more

Without a doubt one of the worse breakfasts we have ever here in North Myrtle Beach. Asked for crispy bacon, got raw bacon and had to cook it. Eggs were ordered sunny side up and the bottom was like rubber. I couldn't even cut them with a knife. Threw them and everything in the trash. I guess it goes right back again on the chef... read more

Pluses--Great place for a quick breakfast. Usually a shorter wait time than other restaurants in the area. Pancakes, eggs, French toast, sausage, bacon, etc. are always cooked well and to your order specifications. Opportunities--some wait staff are somewhat abrupt and sometime seem to be bothered by requests. Cleanliness of restaurant and overall appeal needs enhanced. Paint is old, flooring is mildly dirty at times, etc. Overall, if you're looking for a quick place to eat a good tasting breakfast, Sam's will do well. The same owner has been in place for many years and helps with the cooking, etc. Locals also seem to repeatedly go back, which is a good sign. read more

Went there for lunch the other day.I had gotten a lemonade out of the fountain machine and went to sit down. I then looked in my drink and there was a big slimy "GOOBER" in my cup. Went up to the counter to tell the worker and she didn't really appear to care. I ate my sandwich and the entire time I was there no one ever came out to look at the ice or soda machine read more

I hate to give this place this review the lady who attended us was super nice but they don't use gloves , cook was touching his phone and proceeded to cook the food read more

I loved this place. We came here because Waffle House has a huge wait time to be seated. So I called up and the girl who answered the phone was so sweet. She told me they had two tables and there would be no wait. When we got there they were also packed but we got our table right away. Everyone in there was so incredibly friendly and happy to help in any way. The food was delicious as well. I would definitely go back because of how sweet everyone there was. read more

How have I not already reviewed this incredible breakfast spot? I come here once every 3 years, and it only gets better. If you like a dinner food, this is the place. Staff treats you like family. I had an awesome customized Western Omelette with home fries, Girls each had french toast... And if I was stingy on the tip, we would have been out for less than $20 read more

Our North Myrtle guide herded us to Sam's Place in lieu of the promised "Stacks" pilgrimage which honestly could have been a pancake place or a nudie bar given the plethora of both on highway 17 (tourists hollah!) Located in a strip mall like everything else on the 17, Sam's is a pleasantly crowded, divey diner that has stood as a North Myrtle institution despite the flood of chain domination. Sam's yields a classic menu of diner fare, greasy spoon goodness, and a dollop of deep fried Southern hospitality. This Yankee had the golfer special notable for the inclusion of grits but little else. Eggs florentine seemed to please and the zipcode's entrenched kept murmuring fondness for Sam's. An otherwise average place was made memorable by the dancin'est short order chef I've ever seen. He loves his work. Beware of the dog! Check it out - you'll see what I mean ;) read more

First timer and I have no complaints. Food was delicious, prices very reasonable and wait staff were friendly and on point. Reminds me of my old restaurant in NC. Definitely will be a regular go to! read more

This place is a local's best kept secret. There is an extensive menu - breakfast - lunch, omelettes, gyros - you name it! The food is quick, tasty - and this place is so very inexpensive that you could likely eat here regularly on a fixed or retired budget. Sam - the owner, has been serving me breakfast since I was about 2 years old - from the now removed Harry's pancake house - to his new location here at Sam's place. I have never had anything but an outstanding meal and experience here. read more

Walked in to try this place and was treated rude from the jump. Turned around and walked out.

Great local feel breakfast here. Not crazy overpriced like some of the beach communities can be. Service great. We had biscuits with sausage gravy, eggs benedict and side of grits. Nothing left on table when done. I recommend highly for breakfast read more
