Not sure if I'd call this a hidden gem, but this is where the locals flock to, so that's telling. We stopped by here on a Friday evening, not expecting it to be so crowded. We had to wait for about 20 minutes before we got a table, which was ok. They have a bar area, which is quite crowded, and then a quieter area for dine-in folks, which is where most families were seated. We got seated at a cozy booth. The staff was very friendly and explained the menu in detail. The menu has a lot to offer. We ordered the French Onion Soup, Shrimp and Grits, and the all you can eat fish Friday special, which is basically fish (Haddock) made as per your choice baked, blackened or fried and comes with fries and coleslaw. We tried a blackened style and later a fried style. The food was absolutely wonderful. I particularly loved the shrimp and grits. The staff did let me know beforehand that the grits are not the usual style but in the form of grit cake, which was wonderful. We will definitely be back. read more

I didn't really find anything on the menu that I thought I would like, but the stuffed chicken sounded right up my alley. The server even mixed in different veggies with the side veggies and the were so delish!! The only reason for the low star review was because of the main dish. Again, it was a stuffed chicken breast .... I got about halfway through my chicken breast, and the rest of it had a thick layer of skin. I almost threw up I actually DID NOT SAY ANYTHING , EVEN THOUGH I KNOW I DEFINITELY SHOULD'VE!!! And did the actual COOK NOT NOTICE I did go back and give this place a second shot. I really don't even know why because I remembered from the 1st time that I really didn't like anything on the menu. I think I just ordered their appetizer of the pretzels with the beer cheese. The food was abundant and served piping hot. I got the brisket dog with chili topping. Like nothing I've ever eaten before. A flavorful char, spicy, kielbasa like chew on a huge bun. Tasted like a scouting event hot dog roast on a stick but elevated. Fries were so potato flavored. We love ketchup and vinegar but didn't want to spoil what was already perfect to us. The bog balls -the name and intrigue got to us. Odd combo of rice, kielbasa, cheese and chicken. It was odd but really a good bite! Reminded me of clam cake batter with the rice, kielbasa/chicken flavors within My aunt got the patty melt-mouth watering deliciousness, mom Got the open faced roast beef and wow that was impressive! Lots of rich gravy, large slices of meat and creamy potatoes. I was drooling across the table. Our buddy Bre got the shrimp Alfredo-super creamy and loaded with shrimp. This is the place that locals come to eat. It's an experience of deliciousness and just super friendly people. They are in a strip shopping center and parking isn't an issue. Greeted by hostess who sat us right away. On way to table a server saw us, said hello and told us to enjoy our lunch. That's the vibe. Just down home people who make you feel appreciated for coming in and want to make sure that you have a terrific experience. The menu is chock full of delicious food and drinks. Nobody would have an issue finding something to eat here! They are a 'Pittsburgh' bar so they have some of the local things found on that area (fried in salad - it's great so stop making a face, etc). Ordered grilled chicken salad Pittsburgh style, 2 steak salads Pittsburgh style, and the fried fish platter. All were wonderful. The fish is flaky and grilled to perfection. Salads are huge and they even know to serve them with two sides of dressings. You are going to throw down very little funds for the portion and quality of food that you will get! The place is old style train station fun! We came here for the first time after hearing many of our Surfside neighbors say the place was good. Huge menu. Each day has at least a couple of specials. Today's specials were ground beef steak with fries and Jambalaya and both were excellent. So was the calamari appetizer and the French Onion soup! Service was first rate. They make all their own sauces, 1000 island, blue cheese and Ranch and you will not find any better at other food places. We will be back there again soon! read more

The atmosphere is neighborhood dive, which means it must be good cause the natives were filing in for the all you can eat fish and chips, and they were good. They advertised the fish as haddock, I am not so sure it was. But it was crispy, salted and cooked well We liked it and would easily visit again. read more

My doctor's office is across the street. I often treat myself here after seeing the dr. It's something to look forward to. Have never had a bad meal here. The place is nothing to look at - just a strip-mall location. Inside is dark and not fancy. But the food tends to be comfort food, and middays you get the working crowd. Went with 3 friends to enjoy the all you can eat fish fry. We ordered 2 appetizers and they were delicious. The meal was very good as usual but the service was outstanding- Casey was very attentive and even offered to brew a new pot of coffee for us. Mushrooms we're DELICIOUS, great flavor, perfect breading, yummy ranch. Mozzarella sticks were okay. I probably wouldn't order them again but my husband loved them. Give them a try and see what you think! Marinara was really good with them, I didn't really like the cheese texture. Sweet tea to drink was super sweet and I loved it. My husband got the stuffed chicken again and thought it was yummy, again. I got the pot roast special and I'd definitely order it again. The pot roast was a little dry, but still good. The brown gravy was TO DIE FOR. I got extra gravy cause it was so good. The crispy onion strings on top were perfectly salty, the mashed potatoes under the roast were creamy, the green beans were perfectly cooked. Idk why we don't come here more for dinner! Menu has a great number of choices: appetizers, burgers, and chicken and fish plates, Offer a kid's menu too. Tried the deep fried chicken bog..... WOW!!!! Nice flavor with great dressing. Fish sandwich fried to perfection and significant other's burger cooked as he likes: no pink. Fries were good! The wait staff were all attentive and courteous. We have eaten at Socastee Station many times and their chicken bog appetizers are amazing . The service is very good. The staff is kind and friendly . We will return. I'm writing this review and only giving four stars to let people know not to order the Pittsburgh grilled steak salad, unless you like fatty beef. The beef was terrible. Almost every piece was full of gristle and fat. Truly disappointing and for the price of this salad I would have expected a better quality of beef.
