Came here 2x during my trip to Myrtle Beach, first time I got a wrap and 2nd time I got the turkey sandwich make it your own way. First off the people working here are fantastic. Shout out to Savannah she helped me both times and was very personable. The whole staff here is great, this place really gave me welcome vibes which I really appreciated. Plenty of seating, ambience is nice and clean. This place is also connected to a bar which I thought was cool. But the bar doesn't open till evening I believe. I really like all the options they have and variety of items you can choose from. Hot, cold sandwiches, wraps, etc. Not to mention it comes with a side and you can even upgrade to onion rings, tator tots, and several other sides. Sooooo delicious! The bread is extremely fresh. The sandwiches are heavy with whatever you choose, and the choices are many. The potato salad had a lot of fresh dill in it- very gourmet! A nice relaxed atmosphere- everyone was munching away on their subs and watching the sports on the TVs or talking with their work buddies. The food came out fast and hot. Made an order through the Chow website - made sure, as they stress, to pick the correct location. I did. Joe White Avenue. Walked in, asked about my order. Rude ass lady asked me if I chose the correct location. I said that I did - Joe White Avenue. She says "Well, it's not here". WOW! Best French Dip sandwich I've ever had! The bread, the cheese, the tender prime rib meat...all fabulous. I love how the bread is shaped to have a more sturdy "spine" than a typical sub roll. If I lived here, I'd be as big as a house eating French dip there all the time. Friendly service too and the bathroom was super clean. I will visit there every time I'm at Myrtle Beach. read more

Went here for a quick sandwich lunch. Upon entering you are immediately sent towards the right to order your lunch. Though this place does not look like a NY deli it looks more like a casual restaurant with bar. The staff member was nice enough to let me look at the menu and ask questions. I ordered 2 turkey sandwiches which came with sides. I got one side of chips and one of French fries which cost a bit more. The French fries were so crispy and warm when i ate them. They were some of the best fries ive had. The sandwich were pretty decent. It could have used a sauce on it to give it more flavor but overall it was good. I love a good deli! As we came into Myrtle for a few days we needed a lunch spot. I always appreciate a good sandwich. I came across Dogwood's. When you first see it and even walk in you can tell this place has been around for a long time. It's within walking distance to the beach. Now don't get me wrong, the inside, decor, and furniture is dated, but the food is amazing. They have a huge menu with all kinds of options. I couldn't decide but chose the Hail Mary. It was good, but I actually liked my husband's sandwich more. He got the hot Italian. The bread was perfection. It was on a sub roll but it was an everything roll. I ended up taking his one half and traded with him. The fries were hot and fresh. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would come here just to order the bread. This restaurant doesn't look very inviting when you pass by or even when you walk inside but it has a lot of traffic, especially during lunchtime. Since it was midday and we were hungry and thirsty we decided to give it a shot. The corned beef sandwich was part of the "build your sandwich" and allowed me to get exactly what I wanted on it. The slices of corned beef were flavorful and the thickness was just right for me; not too thick and not too thin. I had it made with American cheese and spicy mustard. It was delicious! The pub chips were good too, very well seasoned and still warm. The drinks are refillable so I had my share of diet cola. There were plenty of other tempting sandwiches under their "Jumbo Sandwiches", Premium Deli Sandwiches", and "Dagwood's Specialties". My wife had the Philly Cheesesteak and said it was delicious. All in all, this is a very good place to pop in to have a great sandwich for lunch. read more

We really enjoyed Dagwoods! We got food to go and the only negative note I have is that, they loaded up my mom's wrap with oil... Which obviously made it extremely soggy. Maybe for a to go order, the oil should go on the side. My husband was super excited about the Cubano but was disappointed with the pork loin, it wasn't what he was expecting. I thought the Philly cheesesteak sub was delicious! The meat was sliced perfectly, gooey cheese... Great flavor! My dad and sister both ordered sandwiches, one with salami and pepperoni and the other had chicken... They enjoyed them both! Looks like a local bar with a sandwich shop next to it. We had the loaded nachos which were a little salty towards the bottom, but still good. The Northern sandwich I ordered as quite tasty. It was a mix of hot pastrami, corned beef, coleslaw and thousand island dressing. It was the closest thing I've had to a Canadian smoked meat sandwich. Delicious. Definitely give it a try. Well you have to go into Bumsteads Place or Pub next door to place your food order for carryout or you can eat there. Tony and I placed our order to go. We were only about 12 blocks from our hotel room. Ordered the Italian Grinder with potato salad as my side. waiter was very friendly We got our order in less than 10 minutes and enjoyed our brisk walk back to the oceanfront hotel. A pleasant and delicious surprise for lunch on our way to the airport. I looked up lunch spots for a quick bite, and Dagwood's Deli had great reviews. When you walk in, you can be overwhelmed with the menu and the walk up ordering, but no one makes you feel rushed. My husband and I split a Cuban sandwich, no cheese, with a side of pasta salad, and we added another side of sweet potato fries...it also was free cookie day!!! Always want to check local places to eat when traveling. Found them online so we drove over from the hotel for lunch. Was slightly confused about available parking because signs posted say Private Property Tow zone. We had to call the number to see if we were in the right place to park. Ordered Philly Cheese steak and Ruben sandwiches and ate in. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant - right across from the dining area is a Sports Bar. The restaurant services both areas. They bring your food to you- which is nice - most deli's I've been to make you stand at the counter to wait for your food. The sandwiches come on fresh bread. The rye bread is lightly toasted, soft and delicious for the Ruben. The roll the Philly Cheesesteak was also warm and toasted. We will definitely recommend stopping in when in Myrtle Beach! A Myrtle Beach staple that you have to go to for lunch if you are in the area. It is definitely a great place because it is always filled with locals. The place has a great small town watering hole kind of vibe where people come in to socialize and catch up with current topics. The food is great, you cannot go wrong with any of their sandwiches. I like my sandwiches usually hot but the fresh bread that they use for their subs is outstanding. Perfect combination of chewy and soft but with a slight hard crust to keep everything from getting mushy and falling apart. Each day brings a different bread to the menu, we had Cheddar Bacon when we stopped in. Any extra bacon to your day is a good day. The sandwiches are piled high and fill you up and come at a great price. Lots of sides to choose from, I loved their Potato Salal which had a creamy dill flavor to it. We also ordered tots but I should have stuck to the fries as they serve the crispy double battered ones. Oh well, next time. Our family of 4 sat outside on a swinging bench, which was an interesting experience. I love roller coasters, but I was feeling a little sea sick when my excited teenagers overdid it with the swinging. The menu is expansive, and the waitress was happy to answer the onslaught of questions that comes with my family. My kids ordered different sides, and it was all delicious. We never buy dessert with our dinners out, but we were so impressed by our meal, we made an exception. Apple pie with ice cream, brownie sundae and the chocolate chip cookies were all outstanding. Stopped by for lunch at Dagwood's with a coworker this week. Found interior was large, various seating, but had an aged look. They have a large menu with deli sandwiches, specialty sandwiches, reubens, cheese steaks, salads, burgers and more. I ordered the Shag, with ham, turkey and swiss. What arrived was a huge sandwich, filled with the meats, lettuce, and tomato on a very soft hoagie roll. The sandwich was fresh, but was just bland. My coworker felt the same way about his sandwich too. Service was friendly, and the sandwiches arrived in decent time. We stopped by Dagwood's for lunch yesterday, by far one of the best restaurants we tried during our week vacation. Friendly, helpful, and fast service. The menu is large with a plethora of options, we ended up choosing the Italian, roast beef with cheese, and the Parks Dipper with fries and tater tots. All three sandwiches were piled high with fresh meat and veggies, all were delicious, the dipper being my favorite. The tots and fries were served piping hot, seasoned well, they were fantastic.
