Even though we live in Conway, we're always up for the drive when something promises that classic, no-frills, comfort food experience. From the outside, the place has that slightly worn, local-legend vibe--and if you know, you know: that's usually where the best food hides. Sure enough, the menu didn't disappoint. Helen lit up when she spotted a bologna burger (a rare find!), pairing it with onion rings, while I went straight for their famous cheeseburger with fries, loaded up with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and sautéed onions. The presentation was charmingly simple--everything served on individual paper plates, giving it that laid-back, beachy feel. No fuss, no frills--just good food and good vibes. Helen was absolutely in heaven with her meal, and while my burger had fantastic flavor, the toppings were a bit underwhelming--light on the veggies and missing those sautéed onions I was looking forward to. Still, the core of the burger was solid enough to keep me interested. We're already planning a follow-up visit to their Myrtle Beach location in a few weeks--round two is coming, and this time I won't forget to snap some photos. If you're chasing that authentic, old-school burger joint experience, this spot is definitely worth the trip.

Seating outside and inside. There's also a few arcade games for kids or adults to play as you wait for your order. It's got the feel of a diner on the beach. There was only 2 employees who I believe were also the owners. Great service and hospitality. This place is unassuming, You don't expect the food to taste as great as it does. All the food is cooked fresh. You can taste the quality of the food that is used. The food is served in dog bowls. It's gimmicky, so some people might be turned off or find it unsanitary. They line the bowls with wax paper and I would think have not been eaten out of by dogs. I can't believe I actually had to say it, but after reading some of the reviews I think it was necessary. The food was fantastic. We got the garlic parmesan wings to start. The sauce was flavorful and the wings were drowned in it. Not as much meat as I would like on the wing, but still delicious. I dipped my fries in the leftover sauce. It added to the great taste of the fries which are hand cut and seasoned nicely. I got the double cheeseburger. I added jalapeños, spicy mustard, ketchup, and mayo from the free condiment list. If you have never tried it like this, I highly suggest it. It may sound like too much on the burger, but you will not be disappointed. The burger was fresh and cook exactly how I asked. Just the right amount of condiments and jalapeños were on the burger. I will definitely be returning to try one of the hotdogs they have on the menu. Great experience and looking forward to coming back.

Let's put it this way, there isn't enough sauce to change it. At first, it's relatively tasteless, but after a minute something rolls up on your tongue. At first you don't know quite what it is, and then a feeling of ominousness that quickly turns to loathing hits you. It's the aftertaste from hell. I'm not quite sure, but I imagine licking the bottom of a Chuck Taylor on a hot day would be better than this. Heck, maybe licking the actual bottom of Chuck Taylor is more accurate. I'm no sprinter but once I remembered that I keep mints in my car I ran out to grab some. If there were a cheetah in the lot chasing me I would have won, especially if he'd eaten this dreck. I mean, how fast could a cheetah be with a stomach full of this dumpster rummaged cardboard? Don't get me started on the hush puppies. These things are drier than the flakes of dandruff that I cannot find enough Head and Shoulders to get rid of. Their sauce tastes like it's repackaged from "Ken's, with so much sugar that if you removed all of the other flavors you are just one bag away from sweet tea. I was the first person in the place on this day. Soooo clean.

There are about 850 Bojangles restaurants in the United States, with the most (348) in North Carolina and 150 in South Carolina. It was founded in 1977 in Charlotte, North Carolina, with the name being inspired by the 1968 song 'Mr. Bojangles' (made most famous by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band). I've heard about the restaurant while visiting the Southeast, but never had the opportunity to visit until now. Downloaded their app and signed up for their loyalty club, which got us a free chicken sandwich (regular price of $6.09). What wasn't clear is that you are actually signing up with 'Olo' as the online ordering technology provider. It matters because a $0.50 service fee is tacked onto your order rather discreetly...never seen this with any other fast food company when using their directly branded app. It'll leave a bad taste....any company that wants to expand on their online/app presence needs to either have internal staff develop/maintain their app/website or just eat the cost paid to the 3rd party. In terms of their food: 3 piece chicken meal (2 thighs, 1 leg + 2 sides/fixins + 1 biscuit for $9.59) - sides were mashed potatoes and gravy (good, tastes just like KFC's which I like) and Bo-Tato Rounds (mashed potato disks with a lot of onion flavor...could be served for breakfast as mashed potato hash browns). The quality of the chicken usually depends on how recently it was deep fried...in our case, it was OK since it had been kept under a heat lamp but still moist since we got dark meat pieces. Bojangles are known for their southern biscuits, and it was very good. Can definitely taste the care taken with the dough (made daily and baked on-site). Chicken sandwich - topped with mayo and a couple of pickle slices on a soft potato bun. Good piece of breast meat, crispy and not too dry. Probably competes OK with other burger fast food chicken, but not nearly as good as Popeyes or Chick-fil-a. There was a self-serve soda machine on-site. The pickup for the prepaid order was easy enough, with the front staff giving it to me by name as soon as it was ready. And the inside dining area had plenty of clean seats.
