This was such a disappointment. All our pizza huts are closed up north so we were really looking forward to it. The buffet was empty most of the time we were there. The buffet was suppose to be open till 2 and the one server said they probably won't be putting more out cause they are busy with the personal pan deals. It's no wonder Pizza Hut is struggling to even exist. This one especially. We wanted to dine in because we like our pizza piping hot when we eat it. The dining area is basically a few tables along one wall where you can take your carryout to sit and eat. Tables were left dirty with crumbs and grease because you have to also bus your own table. The other half of the room is devoid of tables. There is no sign telling you what to do. Just a carryout sign so we sat down. Turns out you go up, order and pay. Food was mediocre. Cheese bread wasn't even cut. Pizza didn't taste fresh. When I asked the girl if she could clean the table, she looked at me like I was crazy. this is the second time this week. I have ordered from the Pizza Hut at 1160 Highway 17 Surfside Beach South Carolina. This is by far some of the best Pizza Hut piza I have and my husband have had. The special of $12 with several toppings was a deal we could not turn down. when I order pizza, I order my half one way and my husband half pizza another way. Pizza hut cook each and every time have done and made my pizza to my specifications. Absolutely delicious pizza I love their pan pizza here. Turn down the jazz music before someone goes deaf. Clean the floor. Tell the cooks to wear a hairnet and wash before they come to work. The place is a real dump. Sign said "open for dine in. 1. Greeted with "dine in or take out". We said dine in and then: 2. We have no waitresses, we have no ice, no cups. But we have 20 oz sodas in the cooler. 3. the young lady did bring our pizza to table in a box and dropped it on the table. 4. My wife had to go to register and ask her for two plates (they were paper which is OK) and napkins. 5. One of the pizza makes had his jeans hanging halfway down his butt. 6. You were expected to dispose of your trash. We should have left upon entry and gone elsewhere but being that we frequently visited this location decided to stay, so shame on us. I've been leery about ordering from Pizza Hut because it was never as good as in year's past. But living between Murrells Inlet and Surfside, there are only two other pizza restaurants left (Marcos and Ginos) that deliver, and they were not good when we ordered them recently. Even Surfside Pizza won't deliver to my Murrells Inlet address, which is only about three blocks south. Needless to say, the Pizza Hut pan pizza was actually warm, crispy and very good. I wasn't expecting much but was totally surprised. I will certainly order from them again if I want delivery. read more

Oh my Lord! If I could give a negative star I would! Wish I would have checked the ratings but it was a local Pizza Hut so I didn't. Tried to first order on line...but when I tried to put in for Pizza Hut rewards the screen would go blank. Tried to work around the Pizza Hut rewards but couldn't get it to go through. So I called directly to the store and this is what started this awful odyssey: 1st call 8:17 pm...get a male with a foreign accent. Takes my number and says I have to call directly to the store. He spouts off the number (which happened to be the same one I called) but he said it so quickly and hung up before I had a chance to say anything. 2nd call 8:19...got a nice lady who started to tell me the same thing. This time I was able to tell her that I was dialing the stores direct number. She did something and said..oh okay I can take your order now. We went through the order, she quoted it back to me, gave me a price, said it would be approximately 30 minutes, asked how I was paying...told her cash. Then she says...oh no...hold on. Next thing I know we were disconnected. Now I don't know if I'm to expect our pizzas or not. Since we were paying cash, no credit card payment to check either. So I call back 3rd call ... Get Mike...I explained what happened again and He proceeds to tell me that he is in San Antonio, TX and they were not supposed to be getting Myrtle Beach calls. Well Duh. Then he says he will call the store himself and when I ask what number he is calling (in case we get disconnected) he says oh it's a special "manager" number. Not the one I had been calling. I hear 3 rings and then get a busy signal... 4th-7th calls...hung up on, said I was being transferred to a manager ( after I asked twice...I even asked to have a manager come to the phone directly instead of being transferred since i kept hearing 3 rings and then the busy signal when being transferred) and hung up on etc, etc, etc. Still no pizza...still not sure whether one is coming or not. By this time it had been 30 minutes so I figured no pizza for us. However, by this time, I was so frustrated and frankly pissed off...I decided I would call the next closest Pizza Hut...again direct and again got the same recording...got a woman that sounded like she had a little kid in the background. Explained to her what happened said she would transfer me to the store and click...hung up on. 2nd call to this number 843-626-7000...get Joshua who gets me to a manager named Joy. Was on the phone for 14 minutes with her. Most of that time I was either on hold while she spoke with her Supervisors ( which I think she probably just muted the phone hoping I would hang up.) she finally came back on and said that the manager from the first Pizza Hut would call me directly back. When I pushed to tell her more because we didn't actually "talk" much. She said well I need to get off the phone so she can call you...if we keep talking she won't be able to. I, as nicely as I could,told her I could see when she called me since I was on a cell phone and could hang up on "Joy" if I needed to. She then rushed off the phone and said well glad we could help. Seriously?! Ordered from Hungry Howie's and never got that phone call back. I will be sending a copy of this to Pizza Hut corporate. Just ridiculous! I've been in customer service for over 30 years. Nothing irks me more than bad customer service. So after 9 phone calls and starting at 8:17...Never got a pizza from Pizza Hut and Will never order from them again. When I arrived home with my huge order I realized that we were missing one pizza. No biggie, right?!? It was a very large order and I realize that it was a very easy mistake. When I called back I spoke with and employee named Mike. He was very apologetic and asked if I would like to have my pizza delivered immediately. I sat at the beach house and waited over an hour. Finally I called back. They said that the delivery guy came and knocked on the door. Mike then told me that he was sorry for the miscommunication and Rachel his manager said I could have credit for the pizza and pick it up today. Today Rachel had no recollection of this ever happening. There are too many chain restaurants in surfside to take a chance with this Pizza Hut! EAT DOMINOS! And I'm being nice about these three stars. Walk in thinking, "they have a buffet". Nope. No buffet. We stayed. Just myself and my kids. What's wrong with ordering breadsticks, pizza and drinks? Yeah, no. First, the server sounds like he is barely wanting to work. Took sometime for food. Breadsticks come, no issue. Pizza is a whole other story. Ordered a half cheese half pepperoni medium original crust pizza with light sauce. There was ONLY two slices of full cheese. The other "half of the cheese", was covered in pepperonis. And finally, the guy tried to charge me for three drinks. One sweet tea and two waters. The manager was understanding and got rid of the other drinks. If, and that's a big if, we ever go back to this Pizza Hut again, it would only be pick up. read more

I recently tried the new Detroit pizza at the local hut and was mostly disappointed. It was an okay pizza but far from my expectations. Now, I love a good pan pizza and the hut has one of my favs. I was therefore excited to see the commercials for the Detroit style, with the crispy cheese all the way to the edge. In real life, however, the cheese was not all the way to the edge and the pizza seemed a little undercooked. I may try one at another hut before I make my final decision on this latest creation, but so far I'm not impressed. read more

So I called to order dinner for tonight and was greeted by a nice guy and placed my order for 2 large pepperoni pizzas. One stuffed crust the other hand tossed..I advised to person on the phone that I had 2 coupons for a FREE pizza of any kind. He was totally okay with. So the order was placed and my husband went to go pick up the pizzas with coupons in hand. He goes to get the pizzas, gives the guy the coupons, and this is where it went downhill. Both the guy at the counter AND a manager had NO CLUE how to ring up the coupons. The coupons were from Pizza Hut headquarters and there's management who doesnt have a clue what to do with it???!!! So, for 10mins they try to figure it out, and the manager then turns to my husband and said: "Im sorry sir, but we dont know how to put these coupons in, so do you mind paying for them?" WTF???? The only reason we ordered was because of the FREE part! My husband was so pissed off! He just wanted to go home, eat, and go to bed since he had to be up at 230am. So he paid $35+ for 2 large pepperoni pizzas, one being stuffed crust. $35+ for 2 pizzas and staff, including management, who don't know how to use their own corporates coupons/discounts!!! This was the worst pizza I've had with this company. The food was undercooked, the staff was slow - literally was only one person on the floor - the food was done quicker than expected. It ruined my vacation cause my order - a large beef and bacon cheese stuffed crust pizza and cheesy sticks - made my stomach hurt the entire trip, I never had to throw up - thank god for that - but I will never come here again. read more

Stopped here before a long drive. Food wasn't bad until there was a hair on our pizza. Tables were dirty, there was a bad smell of something in the entire place. My wife then went to the bathroom where someone hadn't flushed and it looked like attempted to change the trash bag. But the trash cover was in the middle of the floor and no liner was in the trash can. Looks like someone forgot to finish taking out the trash. I wouldn't recommend stopping here.
