Took the opportunity being in the South, to go to our first Bojangles. Didn't set my expectations high at all, but found the restaurant to have decent chicken and sides at a lower price than their national competitors. There are about 850 Bojangles restaurants in the United States, with the most (348) in North Carolina and 150 in South Carolina. It was founded in 1977 in Charlotte, North Carolina, with the name being inspired by the 1968 song 'Mr. Bojangles' (made most famous by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band). I've heard about the restaurant while visiting the Southeast, but never had the opportunity to visit until now. Downloaded their app and signed up for their loyalty club, which got us a free chicken sandwich (regular price of $6.09). What wasn't clear is that you are actually signing up with 'Olo' as the online ordering technology provider. It matters because a $0.50 service fee is tacked onto your order rather discreetly...never seen this with any other fast food company when using their directly branded app. It'll leave a bad taste....any company that wants to expand on their online/app presence needs to either have internal staff develop/maintain their app/website or just eat the cost paid to the 3rd party. In terms of their food: 3 piece chicken meal (2 thighs, 1 leg + 2 sides/fixins + 1 biscuit for $9.59) - sides were mashed potatoes and gravy (good, tastes just like KFC's which I like) and Bo-Tato Rounds (mashed potato disks with a lot of onion flavor...could be served for breakfast as mashed potato hash browns). The quality of the chicken usually depends on how recently it was deep fried...in our case, it was OK since it had been kept under a heat lamp but still moist since we got dark meat pieces. Bojangles are known for their southern biscuits, and it was very good. Can definitely taste the care taken with the dough (made daily and baked on-site). Chicken sandwich - topped with mayo and a couple of pickle slices on a soft potato bun. Good piece of breast meat, crispy and not too dry. Probably competes OK with other burger fast food chicken, but not nearly as good as Popeyes or Chick-fil-a. There was a self-serve soda machine on-site. The pickup for the prepaid order was easy enough, with the front staff giving it to me by name as soon as it was ready. And the inside dining area had plenty of clean seats. read more

Purchased a family box with dirty rice and coleslaw. When we ate the chicken it tasted like raw flour, the coleslaw had too much vinegar. The kicker is we called the store back and the manager on duty said she could not give a refund for the food we already ate. She said to bring it back and she would refund what was not eaten??? What just refund my money. So, I get to the store she calls her boss and has me call her from my phone. That manager doesn't even give me a chance to explain my issue; she goes into asking what time I purchased the chicken which was earlier in the day. She asks when did you eat it, for dinner I replied, her response Oh, well that's longer than the hold time that we hold our chicken so I can't refund your money. She is talking with an attitude, I had to ask her if she was going to let me explain what was wrong with the food, she says ok go-ahead ma'am. I explained to her that the chicken had a raw flour taste she stated that that's the way their chicken is crispy and if you don't eat it within the hour when it comes fresh out of the grease then that's why it tastes like that. RAW FLOUR!!! So, she refused to refund my money. I'll never go to that Bojangles again. There is a better one I go to that's way better than that location. We're in the drive-through at 5:35 in the morning which the app says that they open at 5:30 and when I pulled up to the speaker, someone answered me but when I told them what I wanted, they answer me for several minutes, so I pulled up to the window and some dude yelled at me that they open at six and they were extremely rude. read more

It was a nice gesture that they only hire retarded people to work there. Serving the food cold was a great way of keeping the grease from running out and all over the plates. When I left, I only took two steps and left what I ate on the walkway. I didn't call a clean-up crew because I thought the rats would eat it, but they scattered. Some evenings it gets pretty busy and there's a bit of a wait. But the staff is always really friendly and willing to fix any problems or concerns. I've never had bad food from here. The dining room is kept pretty clean, although the TV on the wall is constantly set to Fox News. I always choose the seats facing away from the tv for that reason. I stopped at Bojangle's Chicken and Biscuits for the first time tonight. I have heard from friends and family how good their food is and I was anxious to try it out. It was not disappointing! I thoroughly enjoyed everything I received and the service was fast and friendly. My wife and I got an 8 piece tailgate meal deal and we received two sides- green beans and macaroni and cheese along a half gallon of sweet tea and four biscuits. Everything was fresh and hot and the chicken was not the spicy recipe but it was tangy. Not greasy at all and the pieces we received we're surprisingly good. It was something like 2 legs, two wings and four breasts. The green beans were seasoned with pork and extremely tasty, the mac and cheese was creamy and both came in enough quantities that we had leftovers for the next day. I went through the drive through and the young man who assisted me was incredibly nice and courteous. I cannot wait to go back! Pretty good food! Being from Indiana, I had never heard of this fast food joint, but I'm glad we stopped to try. The cashier we had was extremely friendly, enthusiastic, and charismatic. Everyone in my group bought a ton of food and we all had extremely full bellies for the drive back to Indianapolis! It reminds me of a KFC but with more to offer! I love love love this place. I visit every single time I am in town without fail. It doesn't matter if I am eating breakfast or lunch or dinner here the food is always amazing. The food is always hot and fresh and served quickly. Even if for some reason the food is not up to par I have always just asked the staff for new food and they have always obliged and the food that came back to me was amazing and hot. At the request of a friend, we planned our roadtrip to Myrtle Beach to include a stop at southern-favorite Bojangles. It turned out to be a great decision as Bojangles offers grilled chicken bites. They were smothered in BBQ sauce which pretty much neglected the decision to get healthy, un-fried chicken, but that's okay! It was vacation so I was allowed to eat like a god damn, animal. Bojangles had great biscuits as well as the standard sides that you find at a KFC or other chicken place. The macaroni and cheese was okay and the beans were mediocre. The restaurant was clean, service was good and the prices were a great value. Much better than most fast food locations. Worth a try if you like chicken or are a fast-food eater. Showed up during lunch rush. Got in line there were many people just waiting to order. I understand you are busy, but there were 6 employees standing around doing nothing. They are all Talking about a kids meal! The whole staff looks lost! Finally ordered and girl did not know how much change to give me back. My total was 8.08, and I gave her 9.00. Had to call the MGR over and ask him how much change she needed to give me. Pretty sad! While waiting on my food, just observing total chaos in the kitchen. Running around not knowing what they are doing. They had the most inexperienced girl named Sarah handling the inside orders. Bless her heart she was having a tough time. One thing that is really not good as everytime she would get frustrated she would rub her hair and play with it. Not wearing gloves she would then attempt to make your food after she's played with her hair for 5 min. Not very appetizing!
