I visited Bob Evans on 10/10 and had a disappointing experience with our server, Kayla. While the food was fair, the service fell farther than short. - Our server was inattentive and took long to take orders. While she was very attentive to the white customers. We may be a black family but we are very successful and for her to judge us off of our skin color was absolutley disgusting. Our orders were incorrect. My husbands food was cold and when we mentioned it she rolled her eyes threw her hands to her hip and walked away with no response as she huffed and puffed. She then Came back with the fixed food as she tossed it to the table and walked off as she tossed my plate the syrup spilled. Now, not only do we have pancakes after our meal we now had a mess we had to clean because that was the last time we saw her until it was time for the bill. This server, she was clearly frustrated or irritated but my family and I came out to eat, we didn't come out to be degraded. My family will not be returning to this establishment where you hire racist, rude, degrading employees. Not only did she make us feel as if we were in the wrong, she made us highly uncomfortable to even finish our meal. We paid and left. Our hard earned money will be spent elsewhere, where we don't get treated like dirt for cold food, or our skin color. I will add one last statement , as a frequent diner at Bob Evans, WE expected better service. Unfortunately, she failed to meet my expectations of simple human decency. My husband and I visited Bob Evans last weekend while on a quick weekend getaway. I must say that this visit was by far the best we experienced in our time in Myrtle Beach. The 5 star rating we gave is for the excellent service we received. The food as good as always and up to the excellent standard that we've come to know when we visit Bob Evans restaurants. Four of those Five stars are for our waitress TAMMY! She was the most welcoming, attentive (without being overbearing) and friendly person we came across that weekend! Monday 10:45 am. walked in as hostess was getting ready to seat us, woman came up (presumably the manager). She informed us that we would have to wait 10 minutes, even though the restaurant was barely in use. Apparently they had a party of 20 walk in, and it was more than their kitchen could handle. We requested that we should at least be seated and give him coffee and didn't mind waiting. She begrudgingly let the host seat us. As we walked past the kitchen, you could hear her grumbling about us. After we did order, it took a long time to come out, which was fine. However, the food we ordered, was apparently sitting there, waiting on the biscuits to come out. It came half cold, and then the biscuits came later as we requested why would they make food knowing both orders had biscuits on them and that they were going to be another several minutes? The hostess was lovely.The rest of tge Experience was not!!! Bathrooms were not clean either. 2* review is generous. read more

When my better half and myself went there for Thanksgiving we didn't know we would have front row seats to dinner and a show, mind you it would be fit for the Jerry Spring show, but a show none the less It started out with an adult waitress blasting off to 16 yr old waitress about her boyfriend, that's when the jolly manager with dark hair and an extremely annoying voice started yelling at the older waitress and it went south from there Mind you our waitress and the other one working our area were nice and professional as this was going down because you could see it was upsetting their customers and others throughout the restaurant This show would go on for about 10 minutes from the prep area into the kitchen area and back, from there the jolly manager started barking loudly at everyone and I do mean LOUDLY, to the point where I was ready to start yelling JERRY JERRY JERRY, Sadly she was definitely unprofessional and being very rude to her workers and the customers trying to eat and those of us waiting for our food ,which by the way, tasted good and the portions was plentiful Unfortunately due to how annoyingly loud and rude the manager remained we asked for go containers and headed for a more peaceful location In closing if you want tasteful food, good portion size, nice waitress this place is okay, just don't go when that manager is working unless you like a Jerry episode with your meal read more

This location seems to be having staffing issues. We had breakfast here today and the whole place is full of unhappy negative employees. The cashier/ host was just as rude as could be and was frazzled and it was not even that busy. So she was pretty standoffish to everyone. We said something to the manager who sat us and her reply was well she showed up today. Lol- really... guess she is burnt out from dealing with her ear obvious staffing issues. The waitstaff was no better, our server was cordial but was defiantly disinterested and unhappy. The food was the only good thing about the whole experience. This was the worse experience I have had in any restaurant in a long time. The hostess was rude, first of all. After ordering it took forever to get our food. There were items missing in our order and had to continually ask for them with some not coming until the meal was almost completed. This was the first time I never received a refill on my tea. Of the three items in my meal two were acceptable and one needed help. When I got to the register, I was not given the opportunity to say whether or not I enjoyed my meal as I was never asked. I had to eat here because of the crepes. I fell in love with them last year and so since we were back in Myrtle Beach I had to try them again!!! Food was amazing!! My husband said they don't salt anything and the salt was all moist and wouldn't come out of the shaker. Server said that is a consistent with the humidity here.. Wow, I eat breakfast here often and it is absolutely delicious. I decided to order take out for dinner. It was awful. The customer service was great, but the food was the worst. My dog wouldn't eat the turkey from the dinner. My child said the bacon burger wasn't good and was served with about a couple of fries in a box for take out. The smell of the turkey was not good. I come to this restaurant three or more times every month for business purposes. I am a CPA. The menu is not fancy but it is prepared very well. The prices are fair. The service is fantastic and the staff friendly. They prepare food the way you like it even if not on the menu. As a handicapped person who uses a wheelchair, it is refreshing to see a restaurant that treats me with such kindness. I would highly recommend this Bob Evan's. read more

Worst experience ever Until Jenna! Was told that it would be 30 minute wait bc there was 7 of us. It took over a hour to sit and then we waited literally 20 more minutes at the table waiting for someone to come take our drink orders and I had to ask the lady do you know who our server is and she said its me while she stood there cleaning another table Instead of greeting us and taking our order. Then she came over w an attitude and got mad bc we were ready to order everything. Waited seriously another 15 minutes and still no drinks! Ask for a manager she literally walked back here said drinks are coming and walked away!! Absolutely horrible. Server came back and said someone else will be taking you and walked away. My mother and I stopped in for breakfast today after a quick doctor appointment in the area and were glad that this location was open even though it was Christmas Eve. My mother is disabled and when we asked for a table the hostess immediately started taking us towards the back of the restaurant and my mom asked if we could have an open table that was closer, which is where we're usually seated and she said that she needed to put us in a soecific section because we needed to be with a certain waitress because it was her turn for a table. I didn't mind at first because th e section was mostly empty so I was glad I'd have room to maneuver her chair, however, the hostess sat us all the way in th far corner of the restaurant next to a full round table, and sandwiched behind another long table for a larger party. This kind of bothered me bevajse it is VERY difficult to maneuver a wheelchair in a tight space such as this, but since there wasn't anyone else in the area I brushed it off. The tables in this section then started filling up and soon we were so sandwiched in that I didn't know how I'd ever get my mom out once our meal was done. The waitress was nice, but the service was rushed and she was overly busy. Our food was very lackluster, and we ordered the same things we usually get, but my sausage patties were burned to a crisp and almost sharp tasting and the grits and home fries were extremely bland. One thing that also kind of bothered me is that when the table next to us had left the other waitresses came over to bus the area along with the hostess and they were loudly complaining about another waitress needing a certain area of the restaurant open for her tables and they were cursing and showing frustration loudly next to us, which I felt was kind of unprofessional to complain about a coworker in a very busy section of a restaurant within inches of customers. I get we all get frustrated, but come on. When we left we had a VERY hard time getting my mom out of the section. There were chairs to accommodate other tables and parties lined against the wall blocking the pathway to get in and out of the section and I felt like I had to go through an obstacle course to pay our bill based on where we were seated. Overall this was a very stressful experience when we just wanted to have a nice breakfast on a holiday. We normally love this location, but I just expected a little bit more understanding and accommodation for a location that is used to seeing older customers and individuals in wheelchairs. I understand it was a specific waitress' turn for a table but to force us into a difficult spot just because it was easier really bothered me. We probably won't be coming back to this location again, for a $40 breakfast for two with this kind of consideration? I don't think so. read more

We were regulars at Bob Evans. As my wife and I pulled into the parking lot today I saw only a few cars and thought, that is unusual for a Sunday morning. Upon entering the restaurant we were not greeted. There were several servers walking by us but they paid no attention to us. No one said "welcome to Bob Evans". Not even a "Hi" or a smile. After 10 minutes of being ignored, someone limped to the podium and grabbed two menu's and started walking. I assumed that we were to follow since, again, not a word of acknowledgement was offered. She then placed the two menu's on the table and left without saying a word. No "your server will be right with you", nothing. We waited another 10 minutes of being ignored and noticed, there were only six other tables seated in the restaurant. Then a young family with a small child were sat right next to us. The child immediately went into a 5 minute screaming meltdown. So now we are 25 minutes into out visit at Bob Evans, no server and no acknowledgement that we were even there. We got up and left, something my wife and I in over 47 years have never done. We will not return. read more

They did respond and promised to send us some coupons for our bad service experience but after reminding them at least once that they never sent us any coupons we are still waiting for them to arrive. ----- (3/26/2017 1:05:50 PM) We are regular patrons at this restaurant but this morning we were treated very rudely by your waitstaff. The place appeared to be not very busy but we had a minor wait of about 5 minutes to be seated. Then we sat at our table for over 10 minutes before anyone approached us to at least take a beverage order. When our server finally appeared she made a face about the fact that we had complained to our hostess that no one had come near us yet and the server said that she was serving food to other people as the reason for her delayed appearance. At that point my wife and I got up and let the restaurant. This was the worst service we have ever experienced at a Bob Evans and hope it never happens again. read more
