Went here when The Golden Egg was packed out with people. Should have waited. I believe they use real eggs here but these tasted powdered. Tasted like a cruise ship egg. Also the sausage patty was a weird rubbery texture with a chemical taste. Very bad. Not Happy with our choice and eggs up grill should be ashamed. Wasted a vacation breakfast. read more

Food was really good, hot and fresh. Wish we could've got a little more chorizo on the scrambled felt like the avocado was the star of the dish. I'd recommend just a few more scoops of chorizo. Always enjoy their food and it is tasty - but so frustrating, you go to pick up your food and they give no syrup for multiple pancake order to go. They also did not include an order of home fries. How hard is it to complete an order with accuracy?? Clearly must be as it's a RARITY to find a place that consistently fills an order correctly. Not a bad little breakfast spot. The atmosphere is casual and the service is fast and friendly. The coffee tasted a little weak but wasn't bad. There are a lot of items on the menu to choose from, so there's something for everyone's taste. The food was okay but not as good as some of the other breakfast restaurants in the Surfside area. Not a big deal but I ordered over easy eggs; one was hard and the other was a little over cooked. The biscuits are delicious. The Homestead breakfast comes with a lot of meat. A cute place we popped into for some breakfast while vacationing in Surfside. I was so hungry I started to eat before I snapped a picture - hence why there is only a photo of half an omelet. Which was good - nothing spectacular but the veggies were fresh, and the eggs light and fluffy. My husband had a bowl - which he states was very good - he got the sausage gravy on the side and was glad he did because he thought it might have been too much with it - maybe if you were a hearty eater, you would enjoy it all together. I was hoping the coffee would be better- I always have an issue with breakfast restaurants with crappy or so-so coffee. Best burger I've ever had. Full Patty cut in half long way so it's two thinly cut pieces of meat, seared and crispy on ther edges with egg on it - EXCEPTIONAL! ... AND $5 on Fridays!!! This is our go to place for breakfast and sometimes will get a lunch to go while we are there. We didn't visit last year because of our trip to Italy and when we got there our first impressions were oh no, they've changed the decor which usually means a change in ownership. Yes, the ownership did change but both the food and service remained unchanged. Both were excellent. Our servers so far this week were Kathy and Cierra. These two young ladies couldn't be nice. Kathy remembered us from 2 years ago. She knew we were from "up north" and guessed Maryland instead of Pennsylvania. Not bad for only waiting on us a few times two years ago. I'm sure that the other servers are just as nice but I will always ask for one of them to be our server. Go and give it a try and please remember to be generous when you tip them in CASH! read more

I like it! First, service was fast and friendly. Two, eggs over medium were cooked properly. Cool enough griddle to not scorch the eggs and cooked to perfection. Nothing turns me office than brown scorch marks on an egg. Home fries were skin on red potatoes, more expensive, flavorful, and heart healthy. Sausage patties were flavorful. All condiments were already on the table, no waiting or asking. Lastly, priced just right!!! The Mason Dixon was under $7. The coffee was pretty darn good, freshly ground in the store. read more

We stopped here during our last vacation, but I ordered a common breakfast and I didn't have a decision one way or the other whether I could give a review. Fast forward to vacation 2020 and we tried the Eggs Up Grill again. I tried the SHRIMP & GRITS Omelet. (Shrimp, andouille sausage, green peppers, charred onions, and Swiss cheese omelet served with fire-roasted tomato and spinach grits.) It was really good! I ordered a vegetable omelette and it was not oily or too much grease like some omelettes are cooked in. The waitress was friendly, fast and super helpful when we asked of other recommended places. The setting is second to none. We (grandparents, parents, friends, teens and little one) always enjoy dinner on the upper deck, overlooking the marina as the sun sets over the water. The views are stunning, (Insta-mazing) the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and it is the perfect way to close out a week at the beach. This year, however, it was the people who made the evening unforgettable. During dinner, we learned that our vehicle was in the process of being towed. Before we even knew what was happening, manager Jason Burch personally came to find us and alert us to the situation. He didn't simply notify us and move on--he stayed with us, helped us navigate the issue, and made sure everything was resolved. He even offered to pay the towing fee himself and help us find another parking space. That level of concern, generosity, and personal accountability is something you rarely encounter anywhere today. Our server, Graydon, was equally outstanding. Attentive without being intrusive, friendly, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great evening. Even with the unexpected stress of the parking situation, Graydon kept us laughing. Anyone can provide good food and beautiful views. What sets Gulfstream Cafe apart is its people. Jason Burch demonstrated extraordinary leadership and hospitality and delivered outstanding service from start to finish. Together, they turned what could have been a frustrating end to our vacation into a reminder of why we have chosen Gulfstream Cafe year after year for more than a decade and a half. Thank yous in spades to the Gulfstream Cafe team. We look forward to returning next year for year number 17.

It was absolutely fantastic, make sure you ask for Courtney, she was super professional, friendly and fastand I never had to ask for any refills or any thing. my eggs were cooked perfect and no one could complain about anything, including my picky brother who always has something to complain about. Me and my husband stopped in last Monday for a quick breakfast they were pretty busy our waitress Alyssa came over to us promptly she was very nice funny and witty, she had great recommendations for the sweet potato waffle you have to have it with the in house made cinnamon syrup. The interior was clean and had a definite "Mom and Pop" vibe. It is Veteran owned, which was a plus for us! The price was just right for the very good breakfast that we were served. We ordered coffee, an omelet, and a scrambled egg sandwich. One of the things that attracted us was the restaurant's claim of being a scratch kitchen that uses premium ingredients. Unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to those expectations. The coffee was disappointing--watery and weak. We were told they grind their own dark roast beans, which led me to expect an excellent cup of coffee. However, if too little coffee is used when brewing the pot, even great beans produce weak coffee. That was definitely the case here. At $4.00 per cup, I expect a quality cup of coffee, and this one simply wasn't worth the price or frankly, any price. The omelet was ordered with bacon and caramelized onions. We specifically asked our server to make sure the onions were well caramelized, but they were not. Even more noticeable was the amount of bacon. It completely overwhelmed the dish--it felt more like bacon with a little egg than an omelet. Finally, the scrambled eggs on the sandwich weren't really scrambled at all. They were cooked as one solid sheet, more like a thin omelet. For a restaurant that specializes in breakfast, brunch, and lunch, consistently preparing eggs should be one of its strengths. I truly hope whoever oversees the kitchen takes these comments in the constructive spirit they're intended. The restaurant has a great concept and quality ingredients, but paying closer attention to execution and consistency would make a significant difference. I'd be happy to give Famous Toastery another try if these issues are addressed.
