Good food, closest deli to one's back home in Jersey that I've found. They need to add cole slaw to the menu

Hello all people considering online order. I placed an online order paid online. Picked up order, bag taped where it would have destroyed the bag to open and check to see if everything was inside. Got home around a five mile drive expecting to have a great meal. Wrong two of the items I was supposed to get were not inside bag. Sent an email back, get no response. So I have to assume that management doesn't care. Won't be getting anymore of my business. Hope this helps others from getting taken like I was. read more

Very tasty Reuben and Club Sandwich in a very clean dining area. Unsweetened Tea was very satisfying.

I recently went there and was a bit disappointed that they do not carry Bagels and other staples you expect from a Deli. if you are going to have "DELI" in the name... I ordered a BLT Wrap to go and it was not toasted and I don't know what they put in there but it was kind of sweet.It did not taste like a BLT at all and it was pricey. Maybe I'll go back and try a salad but so far not impressed at all. read more

McAllister's food is average. Nothing seems to be fresh. It's similar to Subway. I doubt any of the food, like french fries, are not frozen.

Out of potatoes 2 hours before close. Surfside location never ceases to disappoint. Cashiers are always nice but whoever is in the kitchen needs some new training. read more

I have driven by more than one McAlister's Deli and never really bothered to stop in. Last week, I was doing business next door so I decided to have lunch at McAlisters. The menu on the wall is quite extensive. I picked the traditional corned beef sandwich with a side of potato salad. The sandwich was grilled and very good with lots of tasty corned bee. The potato salad is made on site and was also very good. The young lady at the counter was very patient with me as I looked over the menu. If you're tired of fast food burgers and chicken, give McAlister's a try. You may enjoy it like I did. read more

Three years ago I got choose two soup and sandwich with a soda for $10. Today that cost me $16 for the same. While $6 doesn't sound like much, as a percentage it's half-again. Inflation isn't that high. read more

I have passed this shop many times, avoiding it because I thought it was like Panera, which is far from my favorite. My husband took me to lunch here and I didn't have much expectations, however I was surprisingly delighted to have a sandwich closer to what I'd been used to when living in NY. Deli's are quite a thing there. My husband went to the counter to order and the only contact with staff I had was with the clean up gentleman, who was more than eager to get extra napkins and box for take home. The sandwich was delicious. Not as thick as the Italian Deli's of NY, but good enough for me. I'll be back. read more

When I went here there was a long line. There were 3 people behind the counter and not one of them even greeted any of us. There was ONE person taking orders and taking FOREVER to take 1 order!! After 10 minutes of waiting people started leaving the line out of frustration! I FINALLY got to the counter and placed an order for 2 sandwiches. It took longer to get the sandwiches than to wait to order them! The staff was rude. They were laughing behind the counter ignoring the still long line and the customers waiting in the dining room. Everything about this place was excellent--the potato salad was my favorite. Every sandwich I've ordered has been a 5 star.

The only other time I've eaten at McAlister's was at an airport and I wasn't impressed. I decided to try it out again today and got the Southwest Chicken Avocado Salad. I will definitely be back again! read more

Nice staff, good food, and clean restaurant. So... why only 3 stars? It's the cost. I know everything is more expensive these days but the cost of the food doesn't add up to what you get. We ordered very little and it was still 40 bucks. I know owners / managers are doing what they have to do, but I also have to make decisions and paying 40 bucks for very little food isn't sustainable as a family. read more

We have only been here once but we're happy with the food and service. We will be back. I love my club sandwiches and was looking forward to the McAllister version of a club. While I'm used to Dagwood mammoth club sandwiches about 8" or more higher, this one, at a quick glance, was puny by comparison. But after the first tasty bite, and realizing the fewer calories to be consumed, I was converted to the smaller Club. I would definitely get their Club sandwich again but not their cole slaw. I'm looking forward to trying their salads next time. read more

Added stars back because Melissa called and was professional and very helpful. My experience is only partially their responsibility and they're normally awesome, so they deserve better from me. Just paid $25 with fees and generous tip on GrubHub to get a cold sandwich because it was delivered 10 minutes before I looked outside, but got no text message as it stated on my order to do. Then, a French dip with NO au jus - kinda useless. Finally, when I call them for a future credit, they ask if they can put me on hold and hang-up. Do better. read more

I love McAlister's so I never really think to leave a review-- but today was above and beyond! At this location (which I've been to many times) the staff is the friendliest I've ever experienced. They joked with us, helped my Oma with recommendations and even brewed fresh coffee (just for her, it's July and she loves hot coffee). My Oma often has a hard time hearing, so they took their time to communicate effectively with her so that she didn't feel out of the loop. Truly the most considerate staff on the beach right now. We have ordered to-go on line and in person from the South Commons location several times. Three out of four times the order was not correct when we got home. This past Thursday, the French Dip was was missing the au jus. After sitting and waiting twenty minutes it was still wrong. Sitting there we got to watch the manager "Mel" lay into a customer about how busy they were with twelve orders on the board and no she didn't know when his pre-order would be ready. The man was not complaining or being irate, he simply asked to see if he had time to run an errand. That was enough to turn me off from returning and the missing au jus was the straw that made the choice easy. My dad spoke nothing but great things about this place so I knew I had to try it out. The initial wait to order (no one else was in line) was about 15 minutes, and I should have just walked out then. The prices were higher than I would have liked for the amount and type of food we got. I ended up just taking the deli meat off of the soggy bread. I will not return. read more

Have been here 2x now and I am in LOVE! My favorite sandwich is the Newyorker. It is loaded with meat and it melts in your mouth. I have also tried the turkey and this is also very good. My hubby and I usually split 2 items. However, we won't be doing that here anymore. I have realized that I just can't share my Newyorker sandwich anymore. Call me selfish, but I love it tooooo much! By the way, we usually get the side dishes of mac and cheese and potato salad, which are great. Free refills on drinks, how can you go wrong. I was in Myrtle Beach last weekend for the first time in 12 years. My friend and I were just driving down 17 and noticed this deli across from the Tanger Outlets and decided to stop in. We were very hungry and everything on the menu looked good. We changed our orders verbally to each other like 5 times - lol. The place was very nice and was clean. The order takers were nice and offered suggestions based on what you ordered. I had the 1/2 sandwich and salad combo. You could chose from ANY 1/2 sandwich and ANY 1/2 salad from the menu which was nice. Most places limit which sandwiches and salads can be part of the combo I had the the Ruben and greek salad. It was so good. I wasn't sure if it was so good because I was so hungry or because it was actually so good so I went the next day - hehe. And yes it was still so good. read more

I had been coming here weekly for over a year for their French dips sandwiches which were amazing. They started skimping on the meat and raised the price so I took a break. I decided to revisit to see if things had changed. They had, and unfortunately for the worse and they basically gave me a bread sandwich. Why??? I understand that these are franchises and money needs to be made, but you can't make money without customers and a few churchgoer friends of mine have also noticed skimping/raised prices and have also stopped going. There are many choices to eat at around here and you may want to take note and figure it out. read more
