Not sure what's happened to Jelly? We had breakfast there on July 18th and we're surprised the place was almost completely empty - used to be packed! (we now know why) My breakfast sandwich was totally uneventful... the toast was not fully toasted, the eggs were runny, surprise! (nobody asked how they should be prepared), and worst of all it tasted like nothing (not even sure how you do that), served with equally uneventful greens. Order #2 was the veggie scramble... cold veggies (really!?) with a pile of over cooked scrambled eggs on top, again, no flavor, no taste and just disappointing. There are a million great places to eat in Denver - Jelly used to be one of them... not sure what has happened, but I predict unless the weekend (nowhere else to go) crowd keeps them afloat, they will not make it without major changes to bring back what once was a great breakfast experience. read more

Food was good but it came out less than warm. If you get the biscuits and jelly it's apple jelly with some pieces of apple but they don't give you a lot. The donuts were ok, I wish they were filled instead of just on top. Service was alright, our waiter was nice but rarely came around. read more

We had breakfast here and were really pleased with the entire experience. The service was efficient and very friendly, the menu had something for everyone in our group of six and we all really liked our food -- from the very good coffee to the egg dishes. We also very much appreciated the laid-back vibe. We'll definitely come back next time we're in town. read more

The long line of people looked promising..especially since this place was recommended by a local. But in the end, this place did not live up to expectations. The donut bites were stale and didn't have much flavor. Their jelly is really good but no amount of jelly could save those flavorless dough pieces. The same went for the biscuit that came with my corned beef hash...it was stale and didn't have that flakiness that I love in a fresh biscuit. The corned beef has was dry as well and most likely re-heated on the flat-top too many times. The lavender blueberry pancakes were the best thing we had...probably since it was the freshly made to order. Service was good. The coffee was strong (and free with a yelp check-in). I'm not sure what I missed but I feel like this place was very overrated. The wait was over a hour. The restaurant was very crowded and the food wasn't good. The Lavender Pancakes were a popular item from the Yelp reviews so I got those and maybe they were left out too long before I got them but they were super soggy. Maybe I caught them on a bad day but there's a lot better breakfast places in Denver. read more

Well worth the wait. The sweet potato hash, donuts, and chorizo Benedict were so good. Be sure to check in ahead of time to save your waiting but don't leave if the lobby is crowded. Service was exceptional even on an extremely busy day. Enjoy!! read more

Checked this place out for brunch over the weekend. We waited about 45 minutes to be seated. Cute restaurant- from what I saw of the inside since we were seated on the patio. We got a half order of donut bites to start. I had one filled with lemon custard and another with creme anglaise. I liked the filling and wish there was more it. The donut bite was a little lacking for me - as in I don't think I could eat the donut bite on its own. It just tasted like dough to me. So I ordered the roast turkey benedict. I've seen one as an option before for breakfast/brunch. It was pretty good and the poached eggs were nice and runny. The potatoes that the benny came with were so-so. There were cold too. Post exam brunch on a Monday here around 11:00AM with no wait for a table for 4. Overall a tasty pick-me-up, and good sized portions. A cute place for girls brunch, or a day time date. Nothing spectacular to write about, but everything was well cooked and seasoned. Group Ordered: Large order of Donut bites (comes w/ 8--we ordered every flavor) - doughy, and chewy, not to sweet, but I prefer airy donuts more than dense doughy ones. Black Stone Benedict - Bacon and oven roasted tomato benedict. Tasty with a mild hollandaise. Served with potatoes topped with sour cream and chives (reminds me of a baked potatoes) French Toast - way too sweet, but the fruit served with the french toast was perfectly ripe and delicious Breakfast burrito - HUGE. Enough for leftovers Salmon Benedict Corn beef Hash - the biscuit that comes with this dish was nice and fluffy. Drinks: Coffee - free w/ yelp check in Pineapple Juice - too sweet Cranberry Juice Service: Pleasant, prompt, but not spectacular. Street parking. Overall I came away disappointed. You order/ pay up front, take a seat and food is brought to you. No one came to refill water or coffee or check on the food. Unfortunately my hash really hadn't been warmed up enough since prep so it tasted like soggy cold fridge leftovers. I do appreciate the fact that they have gluten free donuts! The service started out rather roughly this morning. The girl was busy clearing off our table, We were'nt exactly hovering but I guess us waiting on her made her nervous. I ordered a Tea, a round of the "famous" donuts. ( I remembered that they came recommended) As side note - This place can get pretty loud and busy. It seems to be a bit of the trend breakfast/ lunch eateries that have been going round denver as of late. Because of its considerable trendyness I think that does account for the customer service factor. The rush, the seating makes it stressful in general its something to consider. Terrible poached eggs. Too hard, then too raw. Had to send it back twice and ended up ordering the breakfast sandwich because I was so hungry. We got the meal comped for the troubles but I must say even the potato side were consistently undercooked on all three dishes they tried to serve me. Even the waiter said it looked gross. Having gone to many brunch places, Jelly Cafe didn't bring anything special. It was a typical brunch venue with no meal that was particularly unique. I wanted to try the daily special, but it was finished by 12:30 p.m. (which is a bit early in my opinion). Had the bacon, lavender blueberry and cinnamon roll pancakes. Personally, there wasn't much flavor within the pancakes themselves, causing me to pour a lot of syrup and butter. I also had the Hoco Chili Benedict and Northwest Scrambles. They were okay, but the potatoes were a bit under cooked and not much salmon for the Northwest. Unfortunately, I was too full to try their signature donuts and other desserts, but they looked delicious from afar. The interior is adorable, the menus are cute, the coffee sizes have fun names like "hobbit" for a small, it's that type of place. I think it's one of the most appealing places i've been in but the food doesn't fully compare. For an appetizer we got four donut holes, I only tried the Mexican chocolate, and it was good but nothing was special about it. The name is much more exciting than it sounds, it seemed like it was a generic milk chocolate. For my entree, I had avocado toast and I wasn't impressed as I have made better on my own. I think they could just really use a higher quality bread. The side salad that came with it was good though, I am not a spinach person but the raspberry dressing made it edible to me. For the table, we split one lavender blueberry pancake and I liked it, but again the name is the most exciting part of it, no lavender came through. read more

Heard about this place from our neighbor and decided to give it a try this morning. I opted for the house bloody Mary with a salad, the salad is snacks fyi. Def is one of the best bloodys I have found in Denver. For food my man and I split the breakfast burrito Christmas style and shared a bacon pancake. The burrito is perfection. Fluffy scrambled eggs, perfectly seasoned sausage, and the chilli sauce is amazeballs. Unfortunately the only downside of our experience was the table right behind us...no one cares whose instafamous, you sound like youre 17. The place is a little loud, so be prepared to yell! Loved the vintage cereal boxes from the 80's on the walls, really nostalgic. Very happy they have a gluten free menu and donuts!!!
