Solid cafe and super convenient location close to the corner of 17th and Q. Only tried a cappuccino and caramel macchiato but they have soups, sandwiches, sweet treats, and more! The drinks were good. The lady was nice. There's also plenty if seating inside and out. BONUS--decorations for the holidays; I love the festive vibes!

I came here on a wet and cold Saturday afternoon, and I ordered a medium cappuccino, as well as, a butterscotch brownie. This cafe is wonderful, and I've come here a couple of times. I usually sit out on the enclosed patio, however, today was definitely not the day for it. The have a heating element for the patio, but it wasn't turned on today. So I basically plopped down at one of the side tables inside. This place is definitely nice during the summer months tough, and it's nice to be able to sit and chill with friends while sipping a cool coffee or Expresso. They have over 40 different coffee beans, and plenty of good lunch options as well. The brownie that I ordered today, tasted like it was baked today! I also like the fact that the music isn't extraordinarily loud, and plus the WiFi is up to speed!

Cozy cafe conveniently situated along Q street that isn't too crowded during the weekends. They also offer a wide array of roasted coffee beans for sale.

Love me a good cold brew and this one tasted amazing. I love supporting local when I can. This is a cute coffee shop that's also great to study and do work. The vibe is friendly and cozy and shop smells aromatic of fresh coffee. Check them out!

Large iced coffee and chocolate croissant

I came here with a friend of mine on a Saturday late morning. We both ordered iced coffees, I got a chocolate croissant and he got a ham egg and cheese on a croissant. We both liked the coffee (though I'm not much of a coffee drinker so I can't compare it to others). I enjoyed my chocolate croissant, but my friend said his breakfast sandwich was bland and greasy. A lot of people were getting their sandwiches on bagels, so I think maybe the croissant was (at least part of) the culprit. We went up to the counter to order - there seemed to be confusion on whether to do that, or sit at a table and wait for someone to approach. I'm definitely going to give this place additional chances now that I live in the neighborhood - I see several "regulars" every day on my walk to work, so this place must be doing something right! I'll update my review if I have a better (or worse) experience in the future.

The tuna sandwich asked for lettuce and told can't add lettuce. My husband asked for something not on his lamb pita, same story. Oh well. No customization at all, no subs. Makes business easier, but not as attractive for price point for customers. I'll remember to keep it to coffee and pastries from now on. Chicken pita was good, a bit heavy on the parsley but loved the dressing. Tuna sandwich was a hit. Pastries are always good. My pistachio latte was chewy bc it had grainy bits of pistachio in it. I was first introduced to this place a few years ago by my brother who lives in DC. And, let me tell you, It was love at first bite! I absolutely love coming here anytime I'm in town. I always get the German Chocolate Cupcake. It's not the traditional German chocolate that you'd expect. The chocolate cake itself is a rich moist decadent, dark chocolate. Not the traditional light and airy cake that is German chocolate. But, it's still delicious! The frosting is pure perfection! It has notes of coconut, caramel, and sweet vanilla. It's so unbelievably moist, decadent, and delicious that you wish that you had 2X as much. But, it'd be too rich at that point. They truly have the well balanced cupcake down. They have plenty of seating. So, if you're not in a rush. Sit down and enjoy the ambience. Also, they have a really nice coffee bar with incredibly delicious coffee, tea, and tasty treats. So, make sure to check it out. The cupcakes are a little pricey. But, don't let the price tag scare you away for enjoying a once and a lifetime treat. They're worth every penny! I've enjoyed seeing them become the fancy bakery that they are today and hope that everyone tries them. So, that you can experience your love at first bite moment! You won't regret it.

Parking is what it is at the Wharf, but I recommend parking near the museum and walking over. Once inside, you're met with gorgeous decor and a thoughtfully designed space that feels like a Spanish-style bar set in nature. The tile, the color palette, and the food and drink options all come together beautifully. I ordered the Carrot Cake Con Leche, which came out to about $8 after tax. Famous Chef Thomas Reviews: Dolcezza (Washington, DC)…read more The Famous Chef Thomas visited Dolcezza in Washington, DC, expecting a proper café experience, especially at the prices being charged. When a place is asking $4 to $7 for tea or a latte, there is an obligation to deliver something above the level of a bargain counter operation. Instead, the Famous Chef Thomas was handed a tea cup with the tea bag resting on top, wasting valuable brewing time and shifting the work onto the customer like some cheap do-it-yourself setup. That may be understandable at McDonald's for $1.79, but at Dolcezza it is unacceptable. At these prices, the worker should have already put the tea bag in the cup, added the honey, and served a finished product with care. Do not charge premium café prices and then behave like preparation is somehow the customer's responsibility. And to casually tell the customer that the honey is over at the stand only adds insult to laziness. Hospitality is not pointing. Hospitality is serving. What makes it worse is that this place has clearly declined from where it was when it first opened years ago. The standards are slipping, and it shows in more than one way. The table was dirty, and because this visit was early in the morning, that dirt had to be left over from the previous day. That is not a small oversight. That is evidence of poor closeout, poor maintenance, and weak attention to detail. Then came the final insult: too many bugs. The Famous Chef Thomas had to kill them or dodge them just to sit there, which made it impossible to enjoy the experience without feeling like he was in a battle against being bitten. A café cannot expect customers to relax, sip tea, and enjoy themselves while swatting pests away from the table. Dolcezza is charging as if it still deserves a premium reputation, but the service, cleanliness, and overall execution no longer support it. Premium prices require premium standards. The Famous Chef Thomas did not receive them here. The verdict: lazy service, dirty conditions, bugs, and a café experience that has fallen far below its old standard. The Famous Chef Thomas is not impressed
