We were staying in an Airbnb that was walking distance from this cute breakfast spot, and we came here two days in a row! Lots of great pastries and hot food options as well. The coffee is also delicious! The service is so quick, so this place is perfect if you want to get your food and coffee to go or if you want to eat at one of their tables. Definitely one of PB's best morning spots! read more

Pleasant ambiance and service with tasty breakfast. We enjoyed the outside patio and the truly delicious bagels and green smoothie. This is tucked out of the way of the maddening crowd--a great respite for us because we've been the maddening crowd for the last four days. This looks like a great place to linger--people are here with their laptops, books, lounging dogs and families. We'd definitely be back if we lived here. read more

I can only rate their coffee but the dirty chai with oatmilk that I had was absolutely amazing! I loved sitting outside in the sun while enjoying it as well. We were waiting for a reservation nearby and they were fast, and staff was kind. Would love to come back and try the breakfast. read more

Cute cafe! I ordered the SoCal burrito that had eggs, hash browns, cheese, and your choice of protein with a side of salsa. Also ordered an iced chai latte. The chai was delicious except I wish they had put more ice in it because it felt like a warm chai instead of iced. The burrito was meh. Pretty basic and flavorless and even the salsa didn't have any flavor and was watered down. I had to douse my burrito baby in tapatio! The best way I can describe the flavor is white persons burrito lol They have a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating so they won't be a problem. I prefer to sit outside to marvel at all the cute San Diego pups! read more

This is by far one of my favorite local coffee shops! I'm obsessed with the pistachio latte. I love the overall relaxed aesthetic. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They also have food (which is pretty decent). It can be busy with a long wait on the weekends. read more

So would give Java earth a 5 stars for their maple or latte but also tried their SoCal burrito and it wasn't my favorite. The maple oat latte tastes like a cinnamon maple milkshake and comes with oat milk and would highly recommend - it's definitely sweet but that's how I like my coffee :) the burrito was okay but a little bland in my opinion, was excited about the hash browns inside but overall wouldn't order it again. read more

TRASH PLACE! Employees dont care about you.. They will say your food is gonna take 5min but it will take 25min+. The food is trash also, the drink is trash and really smell. Trust me, dont waiste your time going to that place read more

A true great neighborhood coffee shop. I have lived nearby for a while now and Java Earth is my go-to for coffee (best iced oat milk latte in town) or a quick bite to eat. The staff is friendly and the coffee is solid - from house coffee to specialty drinks. They also have a nice patio area to hang and get some work done if you are the works-from-coffee-shops type. Delicious coffee and decent food make this place a worthwhile visit. Living in the area, we like to ride our bikes to grab coffee and a light breakfast on Saturdays. Java Earth is one of the few spots we have patronized more than once on these jaunts. While always busy, the coffee they serve up is awesome and always made with care. I grabbed a honey vanilla latte with oatmilk while my wife tried out the pistachio latte. Both drinks turned out very tasty and, over ice, are the perfect accompaniment to an otherwise warm morning. For food, the SoCal burrito and PB bagel, with a molasses cookie for us to split. The burrito was saved by the decent salsa they give you on the side to add as you please, my wife loved her bagel, and we both seriously enjoyed the molasses cookie we snagged on a whim. Of course, we will be back, but I will probably switch to a bagel next time, however. read more

My friend told me about Java Earth and I'm happy she did. This is a wonderful Coffee Shop. Conveniently located on Cass street and not far from the Fig Tree cafe. It doesn't have much seating and if usually quite busy. They have the best breakfast burrito I've had it a long time. They pan fry the outside of the burrito so it is golden brown and has a slight crunch. It is to die for! read more

First timer! My fiancé and I always pass this cute spot on our morning bike ride. The avocado toast w/ feta was amazing. Not a fan of red chili flakes though....so make sure to order it without the flakes. My fiancé got a regular ice tea. He said it was a little watered down but still good. I had a lemonade. My absolute favorite place to study! Seating with outlets are pretty limited but I've always scored great seats. I love the lox bagel. They give you 2 huge pieces of bagel loaded with cream cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and salmon. The coffee is pretty good but nothing special. It's just a great place to study or catch up with friends. The only bummer is that they close at 2pm :/ I wish they stayed open a little longer. read more

I would rate this place 3.5 stars. If you are vegan, there are plenty of options here, and I believe almost everything can be made vegan if you ask! Prices seem reasonable for some menu items but then too high for other. I have tried the SoCal breakfast burrito and the soyrizo breakfast burrito. Both tasted great and were large and filling. I also tried the avocado toast and the avocado toast supreme. The avocado toast seems overpriced ($7.50) for how plain it was. It's only avocado and chili flakes and the portion isn't very large. I liked the supreme one much more, the toppings work great and it is really filling. Although, the toast was pretty burned which was disappointing. The last thing here I tried was the chunky monkey smoothie, which was delicious! Overall, food was decent, the servers were friendly and helpful, and the food was served quickly. read more

I stopped here for the first time while visiting La Jolla. I have to say, the bacon egg and cheddar sandwich that I had was the most delicious sandwich I've ever had. The eggs were fluffy and perfect, the bacon and cheddar we're amazing, and that bread ! I need to go back soon to La Jolla to try the other fabulous sounding items on their menu. We try to stay away from S-Bux in favor of trying and supporting the local spots! This is actually the second year in a row that we've come to Pump. We first discovered it last year during a combination of Yelp searches, and a little A-Frame sign they have along the boardwalk. The reviews were mostly all good, and we quickly understood why. LOCATION & INSIDE: Located in a little outdoor shopping center, the inside itself is pretty small. Amongst different areas, there is room for around a dozen or less people to sit inside. They have a little space against the wall across from the counter where they sell shirts and other items such as travel mugs, glass sippers, and mushroom coffee! There are a few additional tables out front, but I recommend taking your coffee down for a stroll along the beach if the weather permits. DRINKS: This is a pretty typical coffee shop in terms of offerings, with options including regular coffee, cold brew, pour-over, espresso, cappuccino, americano, latte, tea, tea latte, and hot chocolate. They have several options for most categories, including a Caramel Macchiato, (White) Mocha, and a Rose Lavender latte, to name a few. They also have seasonal drinks, which are currently a Tiramisu Cold Brew and a Peppermint White (Chocolate) Mocha. For tea lattes, they have items like a Chai Latte, Matcha Latte, and even a few variations of those. The first time we went (last year), we got hot drinks. This most recent time we went (a couple days ago) we went with iced lattes. The wifey ordered the Rose Lavender, and I got the French Vanilla latte. We both loved our drinks, and were very happy with our decisions. It's only a difference of $0.50 to go from small (12oz.) to large (16oz.) and +$1 to have an alternative milk. We love to use oat milk, as it helps create an extra creamy drink. While they don't typically have their own cold foam per-se, they were able to add some of the whipped mascarpone from the tiramisu latte on top. Honestly this was the perfect topper to an already incredibly creamy and delicious drink. They also added some dried rose petals to the lavender one, which was a nice aesthetic. FOOD: There are just a few options, including various croissants and vegan pastries. They don't have a full kitchen, so the stuff isn't freshly made in-house. For the animal friends in your life, they also offer a Puppaccino for $1! OVERALL: This is definitely a place worth stopping for some quality coffee. They generally have 2 people working, unless one's on break or something. The service is pretty casual, and can take a while if there's a line. They take an order, then make the drink. It lacked the deep, balanced flavor most people associate with cold brew and instead had a sharp acidic taste that was hard to drink. I know some coffee shops prefer a brighter, fruit-forward style, but this tasted overwhelmingly sour rather than smooth or refreshing. Unfortunately it was one of the worst cold brews I've had and I would not order it again.
