First time visiting. I had a small iced creatine collagen cold foam functional coffee which was really good, and I'm writing this review four hours later, and my energy is still good. I got the coconut protein donut and peanut butter energy balls, and both were delicious. I did like the donut more than the energy balls. The donut was moist and filling without feeling overly full. The store was clean and had a decent amount of space for PB. The barista was pleasant and helpful. I'd def stop by next beach day! read more

The coffee is really good but strong. If you tend to like sweeter coffee and with a lot of milk wouldn't recommend. But if you like the taste of coffee and cold brew then it's amazing. Located very close to the beach. Mostly paid parking (10am-10pm everyday) but some two hour free nearby. Interior is very small. Had a bar style seating and a few tables. They have merch in the middle of the shop. We had one person in front of us order one drink. They received theirs within 5 minutes of ordering. Our two cold brew drinks took 15 minutes. I could understand if they were pulling shots for lattes but they have the cold brew on draft and once the employee starting making the drink it took her only a few minutes. Not sure if they have a staffing problem. There was only one staff making and taking orders. One staff walked to the back when I came in and I never saw them again. TRIDENT COFFEE @ PACIFIC BEACH Parking is available through street parking only, as there isn't a dedicated parking lot for this café. I'd recommend looking for parking in the nearby neighborhoods or along the streets in Pacific Beach. It can definitely be a little difficult to find a spot, especially during busy times, but the nice part is that it's free. I wanted to try this coffee shop because I was looking for a new café in Pacific Beach before heading to the beach with my friends, and it completely exceeded my expectations. I absolutely loved how spacious it was. A lot of coffee shops in busy beach areas tend to feel small and crowded, but this place had plenty of room to sit and relax. They have a huge selection of donuts, pastries, bakery items, and coffee drinks, so there are lots of options no matter what you're craving. There are also plenty of tables and a good amount of outlets, making it a nice place to get some work done or stay for a while. The only downside was that when I arrived, most of the seating was already taken. The only open seat was this cozy little hanging chair tucked away in the corner, but it happened to be right next to the bathroom. It was comfortable, although not necessarily the ideal location. Other than that, I really loved the atmosphere. The café has a bright, vibrant feel with large floor-to-ceiling windows all around, which let in a ton of natural light. It was also fun to people-watch while enjoying my coffee. Overall, I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Pacific Beach. read more

An awesome coffee shop, less than a block from the beach! This is one of my go to spots. The coffee is great, and all of the baristas are even better. They know me by name and my go to order! The pastries section is also amazing. I'm obsessed with the protein donuts. They're incredible! They also have a large gluten free selection! The shop itself is beautiful. It has super high ceilings and windows from floor to ceiling. It has plenty of outlets and is my favorite place to work remotely from. The interior of this coffee shop is very cute, trendy and bright. I thought my latte was well made and enjoyed the roast on the beans. It's a great spot to get a coffee and to take a walk on the beach. After grabbing ice cream just up the street I thought I'd stroll over & check this place out. I was blown away by all the cold brew and nitro cold brew options. They had a try least four cold brews on tap! Yes, on tap! This place takes their cold brew seriously. I'm pretty simple when it comes to my cold brew and I'm not super picky either. My husband roasts his own beans & makes a killer cold brew, so I knew I wanted to try some black and nothing extra added. As soon as I saw the Ethiopian Yergacheffe on tap I knew that would be it. After a sample sip, my decision was made. The super kind woman behind the counter was friendly and we even joked a bit while she got my coffee. She made sure to wave & offer a smiling "goodbye" when I headed out. The ambiance is simple, super casual, limited indoor seating and pretty chill. The bathroom was super clean and the pastries looked a lot better than I expected, although I didn't get anything on this trip. I'm glad I ventured over and checked out Trident Coffee. This place redeemed itself because of a super friendly awesome employee that happened to be there on a Wednesday morning. Rewind to Tuesday afternoon around 2 I went in to grab a coffee. I walked up to the counter and said, "Hey I'm going to grab a coffee but was wondering if I could use your bathroom real quick." One of the girls behind the counter gave me the dirtiest look added this snarky comment, "Bathrooms are for customers only." I looked around to see if I was possibly not forming words correctly, maybe someone else saw me open my mouth with no volume. So I repeated myself and said, "Yeah I was going to get a cup of coffee too." To which the same girl said, "Well it's occupied so." I FELT WEIRD. I was like I'm sorry am I some freakazoid you don't want in here? Im slowly making my way through all the PB Coffee shops and this was next on the list. Its very close to the beach and it's a clean well lit little spot on the corner! I got the Mexican Mocha cold brew and it was smooth and flavorful. My only complaint is that the coffee is a little lack luster, not strong enough for me or even my partner who is usually sensitive to coffee. But if you want a smooth coffee that isn't overpowering, this is the place for you! They have very cute merch too, and the staff was nice! read more

I first tried the imperial beach location when I met up with a friend for a bike ride but hit the PB location way more often out of convenience. Their matcha is really good and I love that you can get it unsweetened. I actually come more often for the keto treats. I just learned today they are made in house at the IB location. The barista recommended the lemon lavender today and it was so good! The service is always good but when they are busy it can take a few mins. I walked to this coffee shop on my vacation and everything I got was really great! However, I sat there for 33 minutes waiting for my breakfast burrito. (ordered at 9:35 and left at 10:11 after i got my food) and my order was not my name (it said Rosaline) Although, there was only one worker someone came in 20/25 minutes after me ordered a burrito and got it before me as I was just sitting there waiting! Strolling along the boardwalk in PB, we ventured one block away from the beach and found Trident. A cute coffee shop that was clean and had a bit of a beach them. Coffee was quite good, as was the service. They had some unique flavor options, like my black salted Carmel mocha. It is a bit pricey, which is to be expected from a coffee shop in PB that is close to the beach, but it does lose a star to be because of the value and lack of a 20 oz option. Trident coffee is very cool. The ambience is fun and sea themed which makes it great for the influencer photo, however I was impressed with the menu. They offer signature Mexican and Vietnamese coffees along with mushroom, turmeric and charcoal options as well. I really enjoyed chatting with Sam number 7 as I saw him two days in a row and he had a great, casual, real person interaction that you don't get much anymore. Nice is good, kind is better. Their nitro cold brew is silky smooth. If this isn't perfection, I don't know what is. The staff there was nice. Also had the plain croissant. It was fine. We ordered the New Orleans Cold Foam (nice nutty taste that isn't too sweet), Trident Cold Brew (very watery), and a beef/cheese/egg empanada (hearty). We were able to sample some of the cold brews which made it easier to find one we wanted to order thanks to the kind cashier. Cafe was clean, spacious, and quiet. Good place to study. They are known for their cold brew and they have a ton of different varieties and they also have cold brew lattes. The space is nice and spacious and has large windows so great natural light. We came on a Saturday during PB fest so it was fairly busy and a decently long line. There was only one guy working and he was really hustling. He was still friendly and good service which was fairly fast but I would say they need to get at least two people working on a Saturday. I got a honey lavender cold brew latte and it was delicious. I really like Trident Coffee. I was first introduced to them in Imperial Beach, and they were great then and are even better now, in my opinion. I had a cortado and a protein coffee cake doughnut. The cortado was well made. It was smooth and had great flavor. The protein coffee cake doughnut, too, was very good. I liked the crumble on top and the texture of the doughnut. It was keto friendly and gluten-free. This location offers a good amount of seating, but not outside. They have free Wi-Fi and sell plenty of roasted coffee to go, including instant cold brew coffee.
