Heard great things about this place and finally stopped by -- it didn't disappoint! There's plenty of indoor seating, which is perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. Street parking is a bit limited, so plan ahead if you're driving. We ordered the iced caramel and vanilla lattes -- both were smooth and refreshing. Also tried the Velvet Knot (red velvet cheesecake mousse) and chocolate mousse pastries. Not only were they beautifully presented, but they tasted just as amazing as they looked. A lovely spot for coffee and dessert!

Love this place. An amazing array of fresh pastries, either sweet or savory. A diverse menu otherwise with lots of great breakfast choices. The service was super friendly and knowledgeable. Sophie made me feel very welcome. The floor plan is bright and open, with a wonderful back patio. I also noticed that they have gelato which looked amazing. I plan to come back later for that.

The place is super cute with lots of seating. There's indoor and outdoor and it has a lovely vibe to it. The place is very unassuming from the outside. I got the raspberry mocha iced latte and it was absolutely heaven. It was on the sweet side and I normally don't like drinks that are too sweet but this was so good. I also got the Nutella and banana crepe and it is huge. I could only eat half of it and brought the other half home. And they do not skimp on the banana or nutella. My friend has a vegetarian got the egg toast and she was very disappointed. The bread is dry. They don't even butter the bread. No sauce or anything. On the top of the egg is some arugula and then a little bit of a balsamic drizzle but she said it was very dry and bland. For about $14 she said she will never get that again. At least they butter the bread come on it's not that hard. It is street parking only on garnett. Since we're far enough away from the beach parking is not difficult. It's also free parking as there are no meters in this area. You should be able to find parking relatively easy. The service was just okay.

This was recommended to me by someone I know, and I'm so glad I got to try it out!! The cafe interior makes you feel like you've transported somewhere completely different once stepping inside because it's sooo different from the vibes of the actual area it is in. The drinks were super yummy, and I felt like they def know their coffee. I've never had gf donuts before but they were unique and interesting as well! Their desserts looked super cool, and I hope to try more soon! Seating: there's a good amount of seating both indoor and outdoor. I had no problem getting a spot Saturday morning. There's also a swing seat I was obsessed with... Parking: the street parking is hit or miss but there's a plaza across the street to park if u want as well Overall was a great place to enjoy the weather and chat with a silly drink!

A truly professional place for espresso hook ups. They also got some tasty eats. I can see myself spending a nice long Christmas season morning here getting fat from all the treats. ;)

Great pastries and chill vibes. Good coffee and tons of seating and WiFi. Excellent spot.

I treated myself to one of these - so yummy!

In the area and was looking for coffee and a treat, a quick Yelp search turned up Elixir and I happened to be across the street. I didn't see any spots in the few street spots out front so I parked across the street by CVS and walked. I was greeted by a man and woman who were so kind and friendly and answered a few questions about their "Screaming Goat" espresso. I was so delighted to see the entire pastry case was gluten free and many items were vegan too! I ordered a Cold Brew with a splash of oat milk and a gluten free + vegan chocolate donut, to go. I quickly glanced around the place while I waited on my drink (which was ready quickly). It's open air with a handful of indoor and outdoor tables, most if not all were taken. It looks cute and quaint, and was clean from what I could see. The cost was fair, $10 for what I got. The cold brew was a bit bitter for my taste, but strong. The donut was really tasty - well done! I'd probably come back and try Elixir again if I found myself in the area.

This is a great cafe to to do work or chill in! There are a lot of tables to sit at and a lot of power outlets for you to charge you devices. There is a cool patio in the back that you can work at as well. I highly recommend getting the white chocolate raspberry latte. The staff are all very friendly. This is my favorite place to work in Pacific Beach no

This place is super cute and sleek! It has a lot of tables and light, and even a table with a swing. They have a bunch of food options in addition to the drinks and pastries/tarts. There is a whole display of gluten free pastries as well. Highly recommend checking out this place to grab a drink, a bite to eat, or to get some work done

I've been wanting to try out different coffee shops in PB and finally tried Elixir. It's one of my favorites now. The absolute best thing on the menu by far is the chicken pesto crepe!

10/10 coffee. When I am telling you my aunt and I have had spent at least $100 in coffee while we've been in SD, and this place by far had the best tasting coffee we've had. I got the coconut white mocha, and I quite literally drank it in 30 seconds and bought a second before I left. The crepe was also huge and fantastic! Highly recommend!!

We ended up going with the chocolate and chocolate chip butter cookies, it was incredibly rich and hit the spot. We also tried the Nutella bread pudding, and the flavor was just amazing. Motherboard: Chocolate, peanut butter, honey, and condensed milk. You'd expect it to be a sugar bomb, but I'm glad that that wasn't the case. I feel that there is a good balance when it comes to the bitterness of the chocolate and the sweetness of the other ingredients added. I like how the quality of the ice cream didn't go down throughout the drive back to OC. Ambiance: An's stores are always a vibe. You don't just go and buy ice cream. You go there to take everything in, and that's even before you get to the ice cream. The location isn't very sexy, but the line will be long enough that you will feel safe in case something happens. Service: I only got the pint, so I didn't get the "full" experience, but based on those who fell in line to taste it all, it's not different from their other locations, and it's gonna be magical to people experiencing it for the first time, and a pleasure to those coming back for more.

Yes, this review is a bit…read moredelayed, but after returning from Chicago, a city known for its pizza, I feel that I can reasonably claim that Chicago pizza doesn't compare to the masterpiece of culinary perfection served at Gelati & Peccati. Cuisine: 5/5. Full disclosure, I'm not a big pizza aficionado. In my experience, pizza usually either tastes over-processed or it lacks flavor--especially in the U.S. This was certainly my experience in Chicago. Large, dull slabs of dough, lacking in one iota of flavor, to the point where me and my European colleague kept pouring pepper on the pizza in the futile attempt to summon flavor out of the pizza. Up until my special experience at Gelati & Peccati, (sorry, I can't recall which slice I ordered), the only memorable pizza experience that forced me to reconsider my anti-pizza opinion was in Perpignan, France. And to be fair, this isn't an apples to apples comparison, as nearly every item of food in Europe tastes better than the over-processed poison served in the uniquely American hell-scape of chain restaurants and fast food joints. Note: there are many caveats to this claim, which include but aren't limited to Mexican food, Brazilian food, Thai food, Texas Brisket, Soul Food, and anything that isn't saltine cracker-bland AF. That said, the slice of heaven served at Gelati & Peccati is nothing but flames, and it stands in stark contrast to the banal slabs of dough purporting to be pizza in Chicago. Look, it's simple: I could actually taste each ingredient. Yes, the cheese tasted like actual cheese, and the veggies and sauce actually tasked like--food. This was just the paradigm shift that I needed when it comes to eating pizza in the U.S. I will definitely return the next time I pass through SD. Ambiance: 5/5. The woman working the ovens that night delivered authentic/energetic Euro vibes as she danced to EDM while preparing our pizzas. Definitely felt like we weren't in the states, which was refreshing. Much thanks! Buen provecho.

From the second we walked in, you could tell this wasn't your typical scoop shop. The owner is genuinely, unmistakably Italian, and you can feel the authenticity in everything he does. He makes the gelato himself, by hand, using all-natural ingredients--many of which are flown in from Italy--and it shows in every single bite. He didn't rush us at all. In fact, he insisted we try every flavor before deciding, which turned the whole experience into something fun and personal rather than transactional. And the gelato? Unreal. Fresh, insanely smooth, perfectly balanced--like that rich, velvety texture you hope for but almost never actually get. And somehow, it didn't stop there. The espresso--made fresh on his machine--was just as impressive. Bold, smooth, and the perfect pairing to everything we tried. This place isn't just about gelato--it's about craftsmanship, hospitality, and passion. You can taste the difference immediately. Total hidden gem. I'd go out of my way to come back.

I live in Northern California and have been to the other two brick and mortar locations on past trips to San Diego, so I knew what to expect and brought some local family along to experience the flavor tour. The first thing to know is that the names of An's don't tell you it is gelato. They are named after the businesses that preceded the space and are decorated with that theme. There are usually 7-8 flavors to sample before making your selection. The team is very friendly and helpful with questions (or with a new spoonful if your gelato slips off and onto the floor). If you don't want to experience the flavor tour, avoid the line and go straight to the cooler inside to choose a pint, purchase, and go. We had a great time, as expected. Our wait time in line was about 45 minutes. I LOVE chocolate, so I had a small size with Cypress and No Signal. My cousin loves fruity flavors, so he had the palate cleanser (lemon & ginger) and Straw-hat (mango & passionfruit). The most popular flavor is Leather (brown butter and cookies). Every flavor is excellent. It's really hard to choose. We were told a new location is coming to Oceanside at the former Top Gun house, so I'll be headed there once it opens on a future San Diego trip.
