I adore Drift. Their basic beach latte is my favorite, and the yogurt bowl is tasty and filling. The baristas are always helpful and patient. Parking is not easy on the main road, but you can find parking on the perpendicular streets and walk over. If you are working from home just note there are no power outlets. Definitely recommend Drift for a relaxed get together with friends.
Came here on a Wednesday morning around 7am, parking was easy to find out front (likely due to the time and it being a weekday). Not too busy for a weekday morning. There was two of us and we ordered two iced lattes and a quiche + an açaí bowl. Breakfast was around $39. Service was quick. The lattes were good and the quiche was great! Açaí bowl was very good as well with a strong honey flavor. The cafe is cute and feels like exactly what you would expect of a San Diego cafe near the beach.
Cute locally owned cafe offering quality brews and tasty bites. Friendly service. It's bright, clean , and spacious interior make it a winner for catching up with a friend, getting some work done, or just chilling solo. Good merch too.
Fresh, real food done right. Everything tastes wholesome and homemade--but somehow even better. The yogurt bowl with peanut butter and granola was one of the best I've ever had, and the California omelet was just as delicious. Relaxed beach vibe, genuinely friendly staff, and the perfect start to any San Diego morning.
Great location right in PB next to Duck Dive. Good variety of standard brunch options and coffee drinks. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon. It came out in decent time, had good flavor and was a big portion size. I might come again to order this item though felt the bacon was lacking. Price was $16 since I added bacon. I liked the flavor of the peppers in it. It's a cute spot & more casual. Parking will be challenging as it's in PB. Service was decent too - pretty standard for a casual spot. You'll order at the counter and seat yourself. I do feel the girl at the counter could have been friendlier. Mostly indoor seating, there's a couple tables on the sidewalk though. It's maybe not as cute as other cafes like Palmy's, but still ok!
This probably ranks in the bottom third of coffee shops I've been too. The shop itself is cute. It has a handful of tables that can fit maybe 20 people inside. There's a small counter where you can order. Great floral design on the wall. But that's where the nice things I have to say ends. We were just walking by and saw it and decided to give it a shot. We were met by the barista who mumbled what you want and when we asked for a moment, just blankly stared at us. We ordered the Cherry Almond Latte which on first taste wasn't bad. But started to taste less like fruit and nuts and more like cough syrup. While the colors are beautiful, there was a lot of dishes left on the tables along the right wall. Perhaps those people just got up and finished and they had time to bus it. The bathroom was also pretty bad as well and desperately needed to be serviced. All in all. Probably wouldn't come back. It is locally owned so that is a plus.
The food here is delicious and nutritious, beautifully presented. The young woman taking the orders at the register had a great attitude and energy. The cafe it self has lots of natural light and a comfortable setting to enjoy. We took our food to go this time, but look forward to coming back and spending some time in the space.
Visited Drift Cafe in the morning last week with my sister and had a nice time. I ordered an acai bowl and an iced honey lavender latte which were both delicious. There was plenty of seating in the morning and they offer wifi. This cafe would be a nice study spot and the ambiance was very chill, it felt very representative of San Diego.
Mexican mocha! Courteous staff, quick service, clean space! If you're looking for a cool space to chill close to the beach or to get some remote work done, this is your place in Pacific Beach!
Small, cute café that's great for a quick bite. I tried a few items and overall had a good experience. The breakfast bowl was fresh and refreshing, and the French toast was made perfectly. The avocado toast was a bit mediocre, but the tomato toast was actually really good. I also had the matcha blackberry drink (seasonal, I think), and it was so good--definitely a standout. I didn't try my friend's Hawaiian latte, but she really enjoyed it. Nice spot for a casual breakfast or coffee stop.

Just came to Drift for the first time after it was recommended to me by a friend - and WOW was it good! I got a strawberry matcha and it was so refreshing. Breakfast burrito was amazing too, I loved the salsa it came with! 10/10 will be back - thank you, Alex, Spencer and crew for the great service too!
Came here for a quick coffee stop before I met up with the homie. Service was good, the guy acknowledged me as soon as I stepped foot inside. The decor was great. I got a matcha drink and it was pretty good not too sweet not to bitter how I like it. They were also packed with all the tourist from AZ, utah, and vegas! Street parking only. Some are metered and some are not. Meters run even on Sundays. Paid parking lot nearby. Very close to the beach so expect to walk a few blocks. They have inside and outside seating. Water dispenser with cups by the register. Check out their specials by the register and on their instagram. Dog friendly. Their large drinks come with 3 shots of espresso (vs 2 in the small) so we went with large. They have alternative milks for an extra 75 cents. Tried: Hawaiian latte $7.25 - good flavor Butterscotch latte $7.25 - friend liked but not my thing. Breakfast sandwich $13.25 - good. A little too much aioli. Came out very hot and fresh. Recommend this one. Baja Burrito $15.75 - added bacon ($2.75 extra). This was a very healthy tasting and massive burrito. Wasn't really a fan of the overall flavor. Salsa was good. Club $17 - most expensive item. A little too much aioli on this but overall was good and it came with a cute little fruit cup. I love that they open very early in the morning and just one block from the beach! I'll be back to try their other food and drinks. read more

Just came to Drift for the first time after it was recommended to me by a friend - and WOW was it good! I got a strawberry matcha and it was so refreshing. This is a great casual breakfast/brunch cafe. The place has plenty of seating and is less busy than other spots in PB. The service is quick, but the food wasn't anything special. They have tons of vegan/veg options which is great. read more

It's a super cute coffee shop! Parking on the street or residential area. The decor inside is super cute and there's plenty of seating. My picture didn't save of the inside :( but it's definitely a cute cozy vibe. Service was quick and efficient. Food and drink review: Chocolate croissant: (4/5) It wasn't as soft as I hoped for, but simple and hit the spot. Iced matcha chai: (5/5) Deep matcha flavor but well balanced with the chai! Iced chai latte: (5/5) Sooo delicious! Perfect blend of flavors and not too strong. Roo bru? (Not sure the name. It's not coffee but some sort of coffee alternative). (2/5) it's definitely an earthy/dirt-like flavor even with some sweetener. We wanted to try it, but def wouldn't order again! read more
This was a solid breakfast spot in Pacific Beach! I went around 9 on a Friday and it wasn't super packed, could be a good place to work remote as it's pretty lowkey and quiet! Good ambiance. I ordered the bacon cheddar quiche which was good. It has a puff pastry crust which I thought was kind of an interesting change from a typical quiche crust! It came with a side of arugula and strawberries which was a little funky - could have maybe used some dressing. Service was awesome! read more

What a cute little cafe! Very vibey inside with nice decor and adorable seating. Very spacious. The staff was friendly. The pastries looked really good. They had a nice array of juneshines. I got a matcha latte with coconut syrup and it was so delicious. Really high quality matcha. Loved this spot! read more
Delicious yogurt bowl! It was the perfect size for a little snack. The coffee was also wonderful and I loved all of the options they had. The servers were so friendly and definitely the cherry on top for this place. There's plenty of seating and it's not too loud to get some work done. read more

This place has one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! The bread, the cheesy eggs, the sauce... it was all prepared and cooked perfectly! I honestly would go back for the sandwich alone. I also got a hot Mocha which had a good amount of chocolate but not overpowering that you can't taste the coffee/espresso flavor. Staff was super friendly and the inside is decorated with that coastal theme that definitely fits its location. Drift Cafe is my favorite breakfast stops in the Mission beach area. read more
Such a great spot for remote work! Came here on a Friday afternoon and there was a good amount of space to sit and multiple tables inside that were free. The WiFi worked great and the breakfast sandwich and blackberry matcha were the perfect brain fuel. Excited to come back again! read more

Went to Drift midday on a Friday to get some work done and I was able to find a seat with no problem! I ordered the cherry mocha which, was one of their specials, and a banana nut muffin and both were very good. They do have wifi but they request you sit at a table for no more than 90 minutes, so it was a great place for a brief work sesh. Will definitely be coming back to try their other drinks! read more

Absolutely loved this place for breakfast coz of the yummy preparation and fresh ingredients. The quality was top notch and it was quick as well !! Its a hole in the wall but beautiful when u enter it. U get in line at the counter to order and u can choose from daily specials (tropical smoothie was yum) or staple favorites from the standard menu on the wall (breakfast sandwich was my go to). U pay upfront and take a seat. They get u the food to your table. In $60, we got: - breakfast sandwich 5/5 too good, fresh organic eggs and clean cut green avo. Yummy to the core and love the combo with ciabatta bread - baja burrito - 3/5- slightly dry and not worth it. Skip this and order a sandwich instead - grilled cheese sandwich 5/5- huge portion size and it comes with a side salad which is perfect to balance it out. Definitely to share. Oozing with freshly melted cheese and buttered bread-- ooo it cant be more yummy! - drift coffee - 5/5- loved the twist with cinnamon and i loved that it was strong - tropical smothie - 5/5- mango pineapple banana freshly churned for u and no added sweetner - honey lavender coffee 4/5- it has a subtle lavender taste and is good for evenings. The service was quick and friendly. I got the tropical smoothie which was just what I needed to take a break from the sun. It wasn't too sweet - which I love, and all the fruity flavors come through nicely. The strawberry and cheese danish was delicious. Cool spot to relax and listen to good music while you have a quick bite. read more
