I had a decent experience here today! My friend made a reservation for an outdoor table. We got sat promptly at our reservation time. We ordered and got our drinks. It was super hot out and the host was super nice to move us inside and she helped us move our drinks inside. I was a little thrown off that the server seemed out of the loop that we moved tables and they almost gave the vibe that we did something wrong. In my experience the host should've communicated to them that we moved so our food would get updated. Anyways, the food came out and I really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich (GOAT). They subbed the ham for bacon which I really liked. No complaints with the food. I asked for hot sauce and napkins which came quickly despite how crowded it was. We also got a mimosa pitcher which was refreshing. I'd come again! Parking wasn't bad actually even though it was a holiday.
Came here on a Sunday at around 8:30am and was sat right away. We ordered the salted toffee iced coffee + brown sugar & cinnamon iced coffee. We enjoyed the brown sugar iced coffee more, the salted toffee had a more subtle taste & just tasted like iced coffee. The food was good, we enjoyed the flavors of the shakshuka (has a tiny kick to it but not spicy overall) and the orange flavor of the pancakes. Service was decent though it took awhile to get our check after we finished our food. It's a cute restaurant but they have a huge fly problem in the summer if you're sitting outside. Not their fault but we did ask to move inside & they just gave us a little fan for the table instead bc the host said it was the same inside. It lasted a few minutes but the battery died. They got us a second one & that one died too...
Was in town with some friends and we stumbled across Madi for our Sunday brunch!I We loved the retro, cute vibe of the restaurant and service was great despite how busy they were on Sunday. what I tried: - Waffle churro sticks - these were so yummy and fun and perfect for sharing! Comes with a delicious jalepeno-blackberry sauce and a maple cream cheese - The GOAT breakfast sandwich which comes with ham, egg, Swiss and goat cheese, apricot habanero jam. A great sweet and savory combo - Surfer breakfast burrito - includes scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, avocado, chipotle cream. Very hearty and satisfying - Guava elderflower mimosa - super refreshing! they offer pitchers as well Parking: paid parking in the lot or street parking, was definitely tough to find on a Sunday and we had to circle around a bit
Parking is paid & quite expensive so I'd reccomend street parking, tons nearby. Also paid but a fraction of the price. Inside is so cute, loved all the decor & the overall vibe. Service was good & friendly. We made reservations for Saturday morning the night before with no issue. I got the vanilla bean latte which was good but I liked my friends ube matcha more. I got the Greek fries which were decent & we had the ricotta raspberry pancakes which were also good. Also want to try the waffle churro sticks. Overall great brunch spot!
Madi is such a cute brunch spot with the sweetest vibes! It's located in a plaza with a small shared parking lot, so parking can get a little busy, but having a reservation made everything super easy (there were 8 of us!). The service was great, the atmosphere was adorable, and everything felt really welcoming. I tried the ube matcha, which was creamy and delicious! Lots of yummy stuff on the menu for everyone to choose from -- sweet to savory! Overall it was a great place for brunch. Definitely a cute spot to check out when you're in San Diego!
The orange cinnamon roll pancakes at Madi are fluffy, citrusy, and 100% Gluten free! I still crave them to this day . Service was great and quick. Dining experience reminds of of a modern Denny's If you're looking for a brunch date spot in San Diego with gluten-free options, this is the one!
Checked out this location for a Saturday brunch that did not disappoint. It was a packed house with an efficient staff and seating for parties of all sizes. Light, airy and full of colors. We ordered the French toast to split, also try the French sticks if you don't want the toast. The menu has something for every flavor. My friend had The G.O.A.T. and I had the Papas Locas. Both were good portions so come with an appetite.
Cute restaurant for brunch. Food was good but nothing special. Tried the corned beef hash, papas locas, waffle churro sticks, ube matcha, and brown sugar cinnamon latte. The ube matcha was sweet but couldn't really taste the matcha. The brown sugar cinnamon latte had very strong coffee with little to no brown sugar or cinnamon flavor.
Such a cute spot for a girls brunch! Service was great, estimated wait was an hour but we got in within 20 minutes for a group of 8 on a Sunday. Everyone really enjoyed their meals; great portions, great variety on the menu. Two of our girls got the Lucky Duck and didn't enjoy it, the mimosa flavors were not strong, as 3 different mimosas were ordered and all tasted very similarly and light. The Ube Matcha was a hit though! Overall, the vibes here were so fun! We would absolutely come here again the next time we're in San Diego.

Had a work brunch at Madi in Pacific Beach today, and it was a hit with all six of us. It wasn't busy when we arrived, though I've heard it gets packed on weekends. Parking was straightforward with a small lot and plenty of paid street spots nearby. Dakotah took great care of us. She handled our group's quirky requests with total composure, checked in at all the right times, and even sent a couple of coworkers off with to-go refills. The food was outstanding. One of my coworkers ordered the Poke Bowl Surf Shack, and it looked as good as it tasted -- bright, fresh ingredients piled around a scoop of rice and a side of spicy mayo. Another went for the Surfer Breakfast Burrito, which came with black beans and a choice of salsas. I had the Oklahoma Onion Smash Burger with bacon, served with crispy fries and a cold Mexican Coke. Everything at the table landed well. Coffee was excellent, too. They also add a 5% hospitality fee to the bill, which seems to be a growing trend in San Diego. Overall, a great spot for brunch with friendly service, good vibes, and food that delivers. I'd happily come back.
Our server was wonderful. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, so we were able to bring the dogs. We came for breakfast and for me personally, I wasn't dazzled by the menu options, but that's not to say others won't be. It truly is personal preference so I say, give this place a try for yourself. I think it was tricky because I'm a pescatarian and there were a lot of meat items. I ordered the surfer burrito with soyrizo. It was good. I would have preferred it come with sour cream rather than chipotle. We also ordered the waffle churros. Those were good too but they don't give you enough dipping sauce.
Oh my gosh one of the BEST brunch spots I've ever been to. Every time I go I want to order the entire menu, because everything looks outstanding. Last time I went I got the breakfast burrito and it was amazing. I also got a hot latte and again, just superb. The ambiance and aesthetic of the place is stunning. It's homey and cozy and includes a patio outside. One of my favorite spots ever. I always take visitors here for brunch when they're in town!
Had to drive back north after a weekend in San Diego and decided we wanted breakfast but a little outside of the busy city. Got to Madi at 10:30 on a Sunday and although it was quite busy we were seated right away. Parking wasn't ideal, both street parking and the large lot were a cost, but there were spots available and we didn't have to walk far. I ordered the chicken fried steak which was cooked to perfection, the gravy was flavorful and peppery and I loved the bits of sausage in it. Eggs were done exactly as requested and the potatos were crispy and fluffy. My partner's chilequiles were great for a place that isn't strictly authentic Mexican food, the carnitas were really tender and juicy and everything was well seasoned. We ordered the blackberry goat cheese pancakes to share, they had the perfect chew to them and were just sweet enough. I wish they had more goat cheese, and instead of syrup I would've preferred a fruit compote but my partner loved the real maple syrup. Staff was friendly and fast, no nonsense or frills. The restaurant is really cute and beachy. This place seems great for all occasions but I'd love to come back sometime with girl friends and have some mimosas. read more
Stopped by Madi for breakfast and arrived a few minutes before opening. We were seated promptly and service was fast and efficient throughout. I had the GOAT. I was told by our server that the egg would be well done, but it ended up being poached and pretty runny when I bit into it. Not a huge deal, but definitely not what I was expecting. My husband had the White Bean Shakshuka and absolutely loved it. The kids shared the Blackberry + Goat Cheese Pancakes and Lemon Blueberry Pancakes, and both were a big hit. The portions are HUGE though, so definitely come hungry or plan to share. We also ordered the Waffle Churro Sticks for the table, and those were delicious. The restaurant seemed really popular with families, which made sense given the menu and generous portions. Overall, good breakfast, quick service, and a nice family-friendly spot. Four stars mainly because of the egg mix-up and the food being a little more hit-or-miss for me, but we'd definitely come back. read more
We came from OC for the weekend and made reservations on OpenTable. Our table was ready upon arrival so we didn't have to wait at all. The parking lot directly connected to Madi is paid parking, but there was street parking around the corner. Super cute brunch spot with good food! Service was quick and friendly. Our food arrived fairly quick as well and it was all delicious. I would def come back next time i am in the area. Shakshuka- very tomato forward but the carnitas was an excellent protein addition. Greek fries- fries held up well and were nice and crispy throughout. The sauce they used was a true tzatziki. Chicken was also nice and juicy Waffle churro fries- I personally liked them without the sauces. Nothing too fancy about these but still good. I came here for a friend 30th birthday celebration and it's did not disappoint. The menu had a ton of fun options, and I ended up getting a cute iced coffee that came in the most adorable little glass. I got a classic breakfast and it was absolutely scrumptious. The whole restaurant was such a good atmosphere and the decor was really really cute. I actually ended up coming back a few weeks later to bring some friends and show them the place! Our server was extremely kind and took care of our large party very well. They made my friends birthday extra special by putting candles in one of their desserts, and it was a huge success! read more

They say it's shareable but it's too good to share. They have a parking lot but get here early as the parking lot get pretty full. The shareable waffle churro sticks were tasty, just a bit too crunchy for liking. Be sure to get here early or make reservations because it is a long wait. I made a reservation for a weekend brunch, and we were seated right away. We had a large group of 8+, and they were great with handling all our orders. Food: -Waffle Churro sticks $16 (order comes w 4 sticks): so yum!! The blackberry sauce wasn't that great though because I wasn't a fan of the jalapeño. I would get this again. -blackberry & goat cheese pancakes $16: this was better than the lemon blueberry pancakes. I like that they served maple syrup on the side. I'd ask for butter on the side next time too. -lemon blueberry pancakes $16: tbh i can make it at home. I wouldn't get this again. -build your own bowls $17.50: this is the way to go! Get what you want. This prob could have been 2 meals. -the basic $17: also kinda having it your own way. Typical eggs and bacon/sausage. -chipotle chicken melt $18: good while it's hot. Then it's kinda dry. 20% Gratuity was included in our large party. Indoor/outdoor seating available No wifi Apple Pay/Credit cards accepted. Came here with a group of friends for Sunday brunch. We had a reservation but were still seated about 10 minutes late, despite there seeming to be plenty of open seating in the back where we were eventually placed. That said, our server was friendly and attentive once we were seated. We shared two dishes: the blackberry goat cheese pancakes and the chilaquiles (subbed chicken for carnitas). The pancakes were decent-- I really enjoyed the blackberry component, but I didn't love the savory goat cheese element mixed into the pancakes. It tasted almost exactly like the berry goat cheese log from Trader Joe's. This might be more of a personal preference issue than a knock on execution, as someone who enjoys goat cheese would probably like this dish more. The chilaquiles were pretty average. They were a bit heavy on the black beans, and I wish there had been more avocado. Chilaquiles are usually my go-to savory brunch order, and unfortunately this version fell a bit short compared to others I've had. The iced latte was also a bit subpar. Overall, an okay brunch experience, but nothing that really stood out or would make this a must-return spot for me. read more
Happy to see Madi in PB and a good use for the old Rubio's spot. Came on a Saturday early so parking was not an issue and there were plenty of tables. I've been to their other location and I like the feel and ambience of this one better. Brighter and more cozy. And easier to find parking is a plus. This time I had the blackberry and goat cheese pancakes. They were good but probably will order somewhere different next time. My husband had the shashuka and it looked great. Eggs perfectly poached and carnitas looked tender and moist. The sauce had a slight spicy kick which was nice but unexpected. The burger was good and so were the fries. The pineapple cold brew was ok...tasted like pineapple mixed with coffee and slightly tart. The coconut flavor was mild. It smelled really good. I appreciated that it didn't taste artificially flavored. Service was friendly. read more

Big fan of the food. Not a big fan of the drink I got (it had ube in it along with something else) but everything was finished! You get to keep the rubber duck the drink came along with haha. Server was always checking up on us and took my group's picture. Parking may be tricky cause the parking lot can be full. The atmosphere is great! You'll enjoy the sunlight if you go during the day! read more

The food was slightly pricy for what it was. Overall service was nice and friendly. In the area there are better options for this price range. Food was fresh but not super flavorful. For 2 people was an easy $70+ meal. I feel as if it's decent and gets the job done but there is better options. read more

The food at Madi is great and the service is wonderful. I came in for brunch with a group and my friends dishes all came out but mine did not. After about 10/15min the server came back and realized I hadn't gotten mine and it came out super quick and the manager comp'd my entree. It was totally unnecessary and I understand things happen, but that was a very generous thing to do. Everyone loved their brunch and all of our coffees/matchas were fantastic. I will be back and I definitely recommend. Fan favorite was the breakfast burrito, but I loved the white bean shakshuka. read more
YUM! We came here for a birthday brunch and were so impressed! My family is full of picky eaters and allergies.. gluten free, dairy free, egg free, which can make it difficult to find a breakfast spot we all enjoy. There's a large parking lot in front, so parking was easy on a Sunday afternoon. We had a reservation but ended up being seated about 15 minutes late - the staff was very apologetic though, which I appreciated. I ordered the iced salted toffee latte, but the salted toffee flavor was very subtle. By the end, I could barely taste it at all. That said, our waiter was extremely kind and very accommodating of dietary restrictions, which really stood out. We got the chilaquiles and subbed carnitas for chicken - I actually really enjoyed this dish. The two poached eggs were cooked perfectly. My only complaint was that there was barely any avocado on top; I would've loved a bit more. Flavor-wise though, it was solid. We also tried the blackberry goat cheese pancakes, and unfortunately this was a miss for me. The goat cheese flavor was pretty strong, and since I'd never had it in pancakes before, it felt a bit experimental. If you prefer sweeter pancakes, I'd skip this one. Food came out quickly and the restaurant was decked out for Christmas, which was cute. Overall, it was fine for a one-time experience - nothing really blew me away food- or drink-wise, but the staff energy was great. Also, if you want to embarrass a friend on their birthday, bring them here. This was the most enthusiastic Happy Birthday singing I've ever witnessed - the entire restaurant joined in. read more
