I'm scared to post this review because I don't want this place to get super busy, however I just do my due diligence as a yelper . This is easily one of my FAVORITE coffee shops in pacific beach to do work. The food here is sooo good and there are so many options from vegan to vegetarian. The food is on the healthier side but it's SO tasty. The coffee is okay, it's not the best. But the ambiance, the work space and the cleanliness make up for it. If you want to get work done in a quiet spot with a nice view and fresh air, this is the spot to come.

Palmsy in Pacific Beach is such a great coffee spot, especially if you love a good outdoor setup. Their patio is one of my favorite parts, lots of trees and greenery, it almost feels like you're hanging out in someone's backyard. They also have indoor seating which is also cute - very California, but the outdoor space really stands out. It's super close to the beach, which makes it a perfect stop whether you're walking around the area or meeting up with friends. The coffee is great, and they have a wide variety of options for both drinks and food, so there's something for everyone. It's also a solid place to sit and get some work done since there's plenty of space. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Even though it's a crowded place, the food still comes pretty fast. Parking can be a bit tricky, but that's pretty typical for the area. Overall, I always have a great time here, whether I'm stopping by solo or with friends. Definitely one of my go-to spots in PB.

A lovely spot in Pacific Beach for relaxing, hanging out, and/or working! The vibes here are literally immaculate! It feels like hanging out in a friend's super cute beachside home, with some cozy seating where the living room would be, and an ordering counter for the kitchen. There was also plenty of seating throughout the outdoor patio, which wraps around its corner lot and gives everyone plenty of room to spread out and find cozy, semi-private spaces for themselves. There's some lovely light bites, pastries, and other treats you could order, although we just got some coffee drinks when visiting. For myself - the Matcha Latte with a bit of honey, which was prepared absolutely perfectly! So foamy, soft, and soothing to sip in a nice big green mug! This is legitimately one of the best Matcha Lattes I've ever ordered from a cafe! The barista lady was also very friendly and took so much care and attention into preparing each drink. The coffee drinks were a bit pricey, and I ended up paying $11 after leaving a tip...but honestly the quality of the drink and the vibes of the environment made up for that price tag. I loved Palmy's and would definitely come back - I highly recommend stopping by when you're in the Pacific Beach area!

Beautiful outdoor corner spot! Perfect Tuesday afternoon to be outside. There were many patrons working on the patio. Two outdoor sections, open or private with a hedge. We weren't very hungry so we shared the Thai Quinoa Salad. I was tasty, but I wish they cut up the lettuce. I don't like to work before I eat my meal. My friend also got an iced coffee latte. She enjoyed it! This would be an excellent location to people watch on a bustling weekend. The table next to us was super friendly. We chatted it up about our dogs. Bonus points for being a dog friendly business!

My friend and I had a lovely breakfast here. We came at 8am to get breakfast and service was super fast. The baristas were very friendly. A nice thing about this place is that they serve breakfast and lunch all day long! I really loved sitting outdoors surrounded by all the plants.

If SD materialized into a cafe, it would definitely be Palmys! It's the most adorable beachside spot where you can buckle down and be productive while still enjoying the sunshine and ocean breeze. Located in PB, they're situated in a pretty walkable part of town. There's plenty of available street parking and you can pop in and out of neighboring establishments. Walking in, this cafe looks like a converted spacious beach house. There's so much charm and character. Littered outside and along their wrap around porch is plenty of different seating options. They also have a slew of tables nestled inside. It was a hotter day, so I asked for smoothie recos. The cashier recommended the El Salvadoran Lifesaver which apparently has been the smoothie of the summer! It features mango, pineapple, passionfruit, orange juice, strawberry, and coconut water. It was like a tropical summer in a cup. Super fun, light, and yummy!

My daughter took me here today, enjoyed the atmosphere, location, cool breeze, setting, just wish they had a few ceiling fans or table fans to keep the flies away. Order at the counter, find a table and your delicious plate is delivered. Good coffee choices, and breakfast dishes. Thoroughly enjoyed our chilaquiles, wish the chicken was cooked all the way through; definitely worth ordering. Matcha was strong the way I like it and not sweetened. Also ordered the blue bowl with granola, fresh cut strawberries, bananas, honey blueberries; unique, fresh and delightful. Would love to come back.

The vibes here were also really cute and everyone was very friendly. Everything was delicious, but not mind blowing. I've had better bagels, but the lox was great quality tho, however we did clear our plates. I can see why it's a staple and would try other things on their menu if I came back.

Their location in PB is lovely, and sitting outside makes for a really relaxed morning. The decor is bright and breezy. I had the breakfast burrito (which comes with vegan chorizo) and an acai bowl. The burrito was solid, though I struggled to taste the chorizo. A non-vegan option could be nice. The acai bowl was good but fairly standard. Service was straightforward. Overall, Palmys is a nice spot to unwind, catch up with friends, and enjoy the atmosphere of PB.

We love Palmys! As a family with a small toddler this place was perfect for us to grab a bite before heading to Sea World from our Airbnb in the area. Service was super sweet with our toddler and really accommodating. Our Cortados were 10/10 and the Açaí Bowl we split was super fresh and filling! The vibe is SO cute, they have many high chairs if needed and super walkable from many places in PB. We'll be back!

This breakfast was so yummy! I loved how crispy the tater tots were and the roasted peppers were a great addition! Service was quick and the seating outdoor was really nice!

Palmy's in Pacific Beach, San Diego, is such a nice coffee spot to visit after a beach day or even before you head out to the beach. The outdoor seating was really relaxing, and they have so many coffee variations to choose from. Plus, the staff was super friendly. It's a great place for a bite or a coffee in a chill, beachy vibe.

Came in here early on a Saturday morning. Staff seemed annoyed they had to serve me. Definitely not worth the overpriced açaí bowl.

Ask the Community - Palmys Pacific Beach

Are there outlets for charging?

Are there bike racks outside of the restaurant?

Is it a good place to work/study?

It can get pretty busy so if you don't mind that then it's fine to work/study. They don't have table service so you would have to go up to the counter to order. It's not convenient when you have a laptop to watch and seating to save.

What are the hours? They don't seem to be listed anywhere?

7am-3pm

Do they allow pet dogs?

Yes, outside. Lots of seating and lots of dogs.

We took a morning walk on the beach every day we were there and caught a couple of beautiful sunsets. There were many restaurants and coffee shops in very close walking distance and we were minutes from the San Diego Zoo and La Jolla. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We ate breakfast one morning on the patio facing the beach and it was nice. We also sat by the pool a couple of times and had drinks and they had fresh cookies every day which were yummy and I thought really nice. Since I did mention it was our anniversary they had a dozen roses waiting for us in our room and gave us a bottle of wine-really nice :) My only negative was that we were unable to get a room with a king size bed, they said it was based on availability even though I had booked months in advance, so that was disappointing to spend our anniversary weekend in a room with two beds. I would recommend this hotel otherwise.

The rest was disappointing. Jillian was our server, she was super friendly. However the food took 2 hours to come out. The breakfast combos were not very good. The eggs tasted old or something. The speciality Pancakes were good but not something I'd come back for. Definitely taking an Uber to a breakfast place if we stay at the Pacific Terrace again.

Everyone really enjoyed their dishes! It being a bar, we weren't expecting much, but everything we tried on the menu was delicious-- especially the braised short rib, truffle fries, and the variety of pasta dishes they offer. Some pasta dishes came with bread, some did not, so some had to share their breads since it is not clarified which pasta dishes offered bread or did not. Drinks were honestly a hit or miss. We absolutely loved some drinks while others were watered down or just not great. We really enjoyed the Paloma, Coconut Mojito, and even the lychee mocktail was a hit. As the night went on, the bar got really full to where we were sitting with groups of people with their backs to the back of our chairs. It got very busy, we had to physically go find our waitress to get our credit card back as it had been 15 minutes since she had taken it. The wait staff though was so friendly and attentive before the bar got completely packed. We would come back here for the next Bachelorette trip as it was a young crowd, other bach parties were there, and overall a fun atmosphere for a night out!

We went right after they opened on a Friday at noon. At first, we were the only people there, by the end of the time there were a few other tables, but I was surprised that it was a mixed age crowd. We ordered a mix of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks for the table and everybody enjoyed them. The place is beautiful, the decor is a lot of fun. We had Bree as our server and she was great. It was a group of my girlfriends from work for a little Galentine's celebration and we decided to go for a bunch of appetizers to share. The mushroom pizza is fabulous!!! Best pizza I have had in a long time. The crust is sourdough and they used Taleggio cheese and top it with some truffle oil. They got the crust just right, it was so crispy and delicious and it came out piping hot. The papas bravado were my second favorite thing on the table. They did a great job with those tasty little potatoes and that savory aïoli. The tuna stack was another stand out. It kind of was basic until I tried the little citrus oil that it came with, and that really made it pop. I really enjoyed the pear and burrata salad. The pears were grilled just right and it came with a delicious crispy bread and was piled high with arugula and prosciutto. Great job on that dish! We got a charcuterie board that was loaded with goodies, including one of my favorite cheese is the Humboldt Fog. It was not very well balanced though. It really needed something sweet in addition to the mustard to balance the flavors. Maybe like a fig jam or some honey. A couple of grapes or some dried fruit would've been good too. The calamari was the only thing that was not good. It was horrible. It was basically regretting with a tiny little bit of they squid in it. We are savages and we did not finish that dish or take it home. I would return to this establishment and I'm curious about the brunch. I would not be visiting at night because I'm sure that it's more crowded than I am interested in. Thanks for surprising me Flamingo Deck!
