Came here for my birthday and I wished i shouldn't have. First off, the interior is nicely decorated. It has a good vibe with the decorative flowers everywhere. Now on to the food which is the most important. Ordered The Cure with friend chicken, The Meso which was a grilled chicken burger, a latte and an orange juice...wait till you hear about this one. The Cure ($24) was basically a biscuit with gravy, tater tots and fried chicken. The fried chicken was overcooked - it looked too brown. It was chewy and difficult to chew and enjoy. I only ate half of the plate because even the biscuit was too dense to eat. The guy asked if I wanted a to-go box which I refused because there was no way I was goin to eat the rest. The Meso ($18) was just okay. It's literally just a grilled chicken burger - no sides included - you wan fries with that? That would be an additional $7. The latte ($6.50) I liked - simple. Nothing added - just milk and espresso shots. The orange juice...it wasn't on the menu, so no prices were seen. Well...turns out it was $12!!! Get real! No wonder this wasn't on the menu cause for sure no one would be ordering orange juice for $12 for 12.4oz. Now I don't mind paying for good food but the food here wasn't even good. These prices are getting ridiculous. When it comes to service...it wasn't good. I was looking for the waiter to come take our order. Ended up flagging someone else and then our waiter stopped by asking, "looks like someone took your order". When the food arrived we didn't get any condiments...again we waited for the waiter. Nowhere to be seen. I got up, went to their bar area and asked for hot sauce and ketchup. It's as if we were forgotten. The service was not what I expected. This was a $75 bill (with tax/tip) for 2 persons...we're talking $37.50 per person...for something so basic. Needless to say we won't be going back.

This review is just for matcha! I didn't try any food here (stupidly) stumbled upon this adorable restaurant/ outdoor coffee area while exploring La Jolla! This has got to be the cutest coffee shop/ bar/ restaurant I've ever seen! When I say that everything is decorated it really is! They have a beautiful mirror outdoor! My friend and I just came up to the outdoor coffee bar for drinks. I got an iced matcha that was really good. Not too sweet not too sugary tasting! The bathrooms are clean. The inside of this place is adorable! Next time I'm back in town I want to try the food! I'm sure it's amazing!

Celebrating my mom-in-law's birthday today at this beautiful unique restaurant! Everyone from the host to the waitstaff were so friendly and welcoming. We were seated at a comfortable indoor booth but there is also lots of patio seating which would be attractive in warmer weather. Emily served us today, very attentive and helpful. A large party of women were having a Galentne's party together so that was fun for people watching. We ordered a Cobb salad and a BLT with 2 fried eggs on the side and grits. Everything was absolutely delicious. It was my first time to try grits--they were cheesy with bacon bits on top--so tasty! All the decorations were over the top with silk flowers everywhere in reds and pinks. Wonderful ambience with great lighting. Bathrooms were very clean and smelled great. Very limited street parking nearby. We'll be back!

One of the best brunch spots I've been to! Idk how they have any less than 5 stars. And I'm a local San Diegan, I've been to a lot of brunch spots!

The Queentown Village has a new friend, the Queentown Cafe & Eatery! The cafe is attached to the village and offers morning beverages and light breakfast items not to mention baked goods and pastries. I had a very good cappuccino and cinnamon bun baked in house but provided by Nectarine Grove Bake House. The cappuccino offered just the right amount of foam and smooth and rich coffee flavor. The cinnamon bun was very good. It was perhaps a little dry around the edges, but other then that it offered a very good cinnamon flavor and soft warm moist center. The icing is places on top as it is taken out of the warming agent. Service was very friendly and inviting. The dining patio is very lovely and laid back, not to mention comfortable. It's definitely a place I would like to return to.

If you're a matcha lover, please do not come here. I ordered matcha latte, and the lady asked if I wanted to add some syrup as it comes unsweetened, so I opted for lavender. It tasted nothing like matcha, not even a hint, but rather soapy bland milk. Normally, I would've simply walked away and never return, but I had to leave a review because I felt like I've been scammed. The menu stated the drink to be $8, and it came out $9.70. I had to throw away an $11 drink after 2 sips (it's that bad!). I know it's La Jolla and the cafe atmosphere was lovely, but I expected at least a decent average drink for the price. Definitely not worth it!

Connie was our server and she was amazing! This place has a great vibe; Awesome ambiance! Someone clearly out thought into the decor and I appreciated that. There's a lot of greenery but it wasn't collecting dust, thankfully. The restaurant was clean and comfortable and the noise level was exceptionally low considering how big the restaurant is. The food was also very good. The tator tots were fantastic! Wonderful experience.

Nothing but good things to say about Queenstown. The coffee was solid, and the workers there are so incredibly kind! Great vibes in the outdoor seating area and a bumping playlist made this morning memorable for me. We got the lavender latte and butter scone w/jam and both above average. The lattes were smooth and had just the right amount of espresso (where you don't feel like you paid for a glass of milk) and the butter scone was nothing groundbreaking but accompanied with jam and coffee just hits different. If you're looking for an elevated coffee experience (and especially if you can snag that outdoor booth), Queenstown is a very well worth it spot to stop by!

First of all I Have to say this place is adorable! Definitely a nice place to grab and coffee and breakfast with friends. We arrived pretty early so there weren't any costumers yet but once we were headed out there was a line. My matcha was great and I also had one of their bagels, the cream cheese had perfect texture.

A small, Instagramable shop, Queenstown Cafe is not just pretty but also serves great coffee. The service is subpar but the coffee was well balanced and unexpectedly delicious. Well worth a visit for a quick cup of Joe!

When I arrived, the server was about to seat me even though my family member hadn't arrived yet. However, the manager asked me to wait outside until my entire party was present. She explained that because they serve food quickly, they didn't want to seat me or have me order coffee while I was waiting for the second person. Once we were seated at 11:00, it took about 25 minutes, and me having to flag down our server, before we were able to place our food order. What made this especially confusing was that the table behind us, a party of seven, was seated with only two people present. They were served coffee while waiting for the remaining five members of their group, which seemed inconsistent with the explanation I had been given. The food itself was good, although the chicken sausage I ordered was not served hot. During the meal, no one checked on us to ask how everything was or whether we needed anything. At the end, we also had to get the attention of another server in order to receive our bill. The service has always been excellent on previous visits, which is why this experience was disappointing. That said, we've enjoyed this restaurant for a long time, and it's one of our family's favorite places to eat. Because of our past experiences, I'd be happy to return and hope this was simply an unusually busy or off day for the team.

However, Jade ensured that we enjoyed our meal at the Shorehouse Kitchen. At brunch, my go to dish is the French toast that will tell me the quality and care from the kitchen. I was blown away at how delicious the French Toast was. The name is the "CARAMELIZED TAHITIAN VANILLA BEAN FRENCH TOAST with Fresh Blueberries or Bananas and Chantilly Cream, or a Grilled Pineapple". Jade gave away the secret ingredient to me and I was impressed. An applied Maillard reaction with brown sugar brought the French Toast a new level of yumminess. The Chantilly Cream took it over the top, not to sweet and very creamy. Yum!!! Also tried the "RASPBERRY TRUFFLE MOCHA St. George Vanilla Bean Vodka. Raspberry Liqueur, Callebaut Belgian Chocolate, Espresso, Steamed Milk, Chantilly Cream" . AMAZING!!! The Shorehouse Kitchen is a gem with fantastic food and service. Freaking religious experience…read more You'll want to set aside a couple hours for dinner at Duke's. Not because it's outdoors and has a great vibe, and helpful, friendly servers, which make you want to stay there for hours with your family, friends, or coworkers--although all of that is true. Not because it has a gorgeous view of the Pacific--which it does. Not even because of their piña coladas! No, my friend. It's because their sautéed Mac nut & herb-crusted fresh fish with mac salad is just *so good* but if you have any reverence for all that is good and true in this world, you'll have to stop every few bites, let your eyes roll back into your head a little, and enjoy it. It's just... slow. Now. First things first. Mac nut, mac salad. One is Macadamia nuts; one is macaroni. Hopefully my team member who raved about the mac salad does not read this and realize that I thought it was a salad of Macadamia nuts. I was like OK, that sounds weird, but I do love Macadamia nuts, so let's try it. She was right to rave. It was *delicious*. In fact, I think the fish and the salad kind of ran together a bit and made each other even more delicious. Look, I'm not sure how it worked, I just know it worked. Apparently for the dinner menu it only shows rice with the fish; ignore that. Just ask them to swap it out. Speaking of lunch, I did also have lunch at Duke's once. Got fish and chips. And let me tell you, the weirdest thing: Their *tartar sauce* was off the charts. I know. Who nails the tartar sauce? But it had this perfect zing to it, as though they got an idea from the usual malt vinegar and mixed it all in there. Given the quality of what I've had do far, you probably can't go wrong at Duke's. Get a reservation, ask for an ocean view--and give yourself plenty of time.

The restaurant is located at 1235 Coast Bivd; while street parking is available there, it was extremely difficult to find a spot due to the heavy traffic from visitors to La Jolla Cove-you can essentially consider parking there impossible. The location of the restaurant is beautiful as you are right on the beach and you have a great view of the ocean and the seals that hang around the area. Supposedly people have complained about a "fishy smell", the ocean does smell fishy and the restaurant can't control the environment. Megan was our waitress and she was amazing. She was full of energy, polite, professional, and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. I ordered the Fig & Goat Cheese Burger, medium rare, and a Vanilla Italian Soda. The soda was refreshing and wasn't like your usual soda. The vanilla flavor was not overpowering and I enjoyed it. The wait time for the burger was a bit long, but I didn't mind as I watched the seals play on the beach. Unfortunately, the burger was not medium rare, but that wasn't a big deal as it was full of flavor and juicy. The meat itself had a nice hearty flavor that pair nicely with the goat cheese. Surprisingly, goat cheese on a burger is a great combo that brings it all together. The sweet and savory with a creamy texture made me craving for more. The bun was soft and firm as well. I ordered tater tots on the side and they were perfect. Golden and crispy on the outside while being soft and fluffy on the inside. They make their ranch in-house and it was one of the best tasting ranch sauces that I've tried. The ranch was light, refreshing, and had a dill flavor. Overall, I enjoyed my time very much. The meal was a nice refresher that didn't make me feel guilty or tired afterwards. I will be coming back.
