I arrived here because my previous plans were canceled last minute and I saw it was still closed but I saw someone working so I decided to walk up and see my lunch. Apparently the cafe opens at 9am and the restaurant open at 10am so yes I was lucky as I arrived 5 minutes prior. The host/waitress was really nice and friendly. The coffee was delicious, I got the iced pistachio latte with oat milk. I really enjoyed the music, the space, the outdoor seating. I got to read my new book and soak it up. What a wonderful cafe to stop in and take a break while shopping. I scored a seat with comfortable outdoor couches to enjoy my quiche and lavendar latte. Quiche was ok and not spectacular but I liked the side salad and the rye bread with the rosemary butter. So good. Most of all, I appreciated the service on a bustling Sunday morning and the creamy lavendar latte. Nice relaxing atmosphere and I spent a soothing hour (or two?) people watching. read more

Came here for my birthday and I wished i shouldn't have. First off, the interior is nicely decorated. It has a good vibe with the decorative flowers everywhere. Now on to the food which is the most important. Ordered The Cure with friend chicken, The Meso which was a grilled chicken burger, a latte and an orange juice...wait till you hear about this one. The Cure ($24) was basically a biscuit with gravy, tater tots and fried chicken. The fried chicken was overcooked - it looked too brown. It was chewy and difficult to chew and enjoy. I only ate half of the plate because even the biscuit was too dense to eat. The guy asked if I wanted a to-go box which I refused because there was no way I was goin to eat the rest. The Meso ($18) was just okay. It's literally just a grilled chicken burger - no sides included - you wan fries with that? That would be an additional $7. The latte ($6.50) I liked - simple. Nothing added - just milk and espresso shots. The orange juice...it wasn't on the menu, so no prices were seen. Well...turns out it was $12!!! Get real! No wonder this wasn't on the menu cause for sure no one would be ordering orange juice for $12 for 12.4oz. Now I don't mind paying for good food but the food here wasn't even good. These prices are getting ridiculous. When it comes to service...it wasn't good. I was looking for the waiter to come take our order. Ended up flagging someone else and then our waiter stopped by asking, "looks like someone took your order". When the food arrived we didn't get any condiments...again we waited for the waiter. Nowhere to be seen. I got up, went to their bar area and asked for hot sauce and ketchup. It's as if we were forgotten. The service was not what I expected. This was a $75 bill (with tax/tip) for 2 persons...we're talking $37.50 per person...for something so basic. Needless to say we won't be going back. read more

This review is just for matcha! I didn't try any food here (stupidly) stumbled upon this adorable restaurant/ outdoor coffee area while exploring La Jolla! This has got to be the cutest coffee shop/ bar/ restaurant I've ever seen! When I say that everything is decorated it really is! They have a beautiful mirror outdoor! My friend and I just came up to the outdoor coffee bar for drinks. I got an iced matcha that was really good. Not too sweet not too sugary tasting! The bathrooms are clean. Celebrating my mom-in-law's birthday today at this beautiful unique restaurant! Everyone from the host to the waitstaff were so friendly and welcoming. We were seated at a comfortable indoor booth but there is also lots of patio seating which would be attractive in warmer weather. Emily served us today, very attentive and helpful. A large party of women were having a Galentne's party together so that was fun for people watching. We ordered a Cobb salad and a BLT with 2 fried eggs on the side and grits. Everything was absolutely delicious. It was my first time to try grits--they were cheesy with bacon bits on top--so tasty! All the decorations were over the top with silk flowers everywhere in reds and pinks. Wonderful ambience with great lighting. Bathrooms were very clean and smelled great. Super cute, instagram worthy place to stop in for drinks, off of the main strip. They even have happy hour (limited menu drinks and food)! Don't waste your money. Yes, the ambiance is lovely, but the food is average, prices are high and the service is terrible. We ordered the avocado toast and some salads. The flavors on the avocado toast were lacking. I had to ask for salt multiple times before the irritated bartender brought it to me. Our waitress was pretty much absent for the majority of the meal. no idea what she was doing as there were very few diners in the restaurant. The queenstown in little italy is much better. The Queentown Village has a new friend, the Queentown Cafe & Eatery! The cafe is attached to the village and offers morning beverages and light breakfast items not to mention baked goods and pastries. I had a very good cappuccino and cinnamon bun baked in house but provided by Nectarine Grove Bake House. The cappuccino offered just the right amount of foam and smooth and rich coffee flavor. The cinnamon bun was very good. It was perhaps a little dry around the edges, but other then that it offered a very good cinnamon flavor and soft warm moist center. The icing is places on top as it is taken out of the warming agent. Service was very friendly and inviting. The dining patio is very lovely and laid back, not to mention comfortable. This place is quite literally stunning! Just keep in mind the prices are pretty high for what you're getting. Yes it's good but I'd only go back for the vibes. Breakfast: if you go early just know they only have a limited menu but it's still really good, and I believe there is only patio seating until lunch. Service was great, food was quick to come out (we were the only ones there right when they opened). They were also very helpful with the menu. Bathrooms were clean! Sadly, the matcha latte just tasted like milk to me but they were able to help me out and it was better, I wouldn't get it again though. If you're a matcha lover, please do not come here. I ordered matcha latte, and the lady asked if I wanted to add some syrup as it comes unsweetened, so I opted for lavender. It tasted nothing like matcha, not even a hint, but rather soapy bland milk. Normally, I would've simply walked away and never return, but I had to leave a review because I felt like I've been scammed. The menu stated the drink to be $8, and it came out $9.70. I had to throw away an $11 drink after 2 sips (it's that bad!). I know it's La Jolla and the cafe atmosphere was lovely, but I expected at least a decent average drink for the price. Nothing but good things to say about Queenstown. The coffee was solid, and the workers there are so incredibly kind! Great vibes in the outdoor seating area and a bumping playlist made this morning memorable for me. We got the lavender latte and butter scone w/jam and both above average. The lattes were smooth and had just the right amount of espresso (where you don't feel like you paid for a glass of milk) and the butter scone was nothing groundbreaking but accompanied with jam and coffee just hits different. Saw this on toogoodtogo and did a surprise bag. The staff was very friendly and offered to warm up the goods(croissant roll w/ metal tin of whip cream & butter scone) and brought metal utensils for me to use. The butter scone was one of the best I've tried: rich, indulgent, and delicious. The cinnamon roll(gluten free) on the other hand was just alright, but warmed up the next day in the microwave with a bit of milk it was better. I have no bad things to say about this place, it is adorable, the seating is wonderful and very comfortable, and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. I ordered an iced honey lavender latte with oat milk and a gluten free chocolate muffin. The honey lavender latte was to die for. I am not a coffee connoisseur, but it was truly amazing with the perfect amount of sweet and bitterness you need from an iced latte. The bread could've sliced open my palate but I just kept going--as long as I had the perfect bite balanced with grilled chicken, fruits and leafy greens, tart & delicious dressing plus the toppings--I kept eating. I was euphoric, so much so that I almost walked into the ocean. I've since made replicas of this salad at home myself, each time nearly succumbing to the desire to be engulfed by a body of water. I am extremely disappointed by this restaurant's service and would never reccomend this place to anyone. I came here for my brother's college graduation brunch yesterday with my entire family and in short I will not be returning. Our waiter spilled water all over my uncle, never apologized, offered napkins or said anything, just walked away. He then proceeded to spill both of my parent's coffee while carelessly trying to hand them the cups, never apologized, reacted, or offered any kind of help again. And the icing on the cake was when he was removing plates from the table he dropped a dirty fork on my uncle which hit him and stained his clothes, and once again, never apologized, reacted, or offered any kind of help. I am not one to leave negative reviews, but I had to leave one today. This man was rude, unhelpful, and actively dropped things all over us with no apologies. I don't know if that is the standard of behavior that all employees at Queenstown Cafe display or if we just got unlucky. However, I DO know, the experience we had yesterday was unacceptable. I have also worked in the service industry and have a lot of grace for mistakes, however the lack of any kind of apology and the general distaste our server displayed for serving us is a much greater issue that I have no tolerance for. read more

it was super beautiful inside and being in the cove is always a plus! the servers here were super attentive and super kind. our server in particular was very patient and overall very sweet. i think however that is where the very good parts end. the food itself wasn't bad but it was overall just average. it looked very tasty but it wasn't necessarily "outstanding and delicious." for my friends dishes, the potato sides that came along with their meal were cold. overall, my friends said their meals were average at best. the chilaquiles i ordered were good, but i did get full very fast. the cinnamon roll we ordered was really good, with it getting goey in the middle. lastly, the lady (not our server) who came to take our credit card was a little rude and seemed to rush us out of the restaurant when the restaurant was not full. read more

They're not very knowledgeable about the menu, they are not helpful, at the end of the meal they basically said goodbye. They never asked me how my meal was. They do have a dog menu so that's a good thing.
