This spot was a cute location but the service wasn't the greatest. The matcha was also not the vibe which is fine. I'm sure their other drinks might be better. The coffee was also not great. We popped in thinking maybe if we snagged some drinks and then use the restroom we would be fine, but we were told that they didn't have one and to go across the street to look for one. We were a little turned away by that. We came to visit since we were coming from out of town but would probably skip this one for future visits

Came here on a Sunday wanting to get a nice breakfast. You order at the counter and seat yourself. You do not need a reservation. There are plenty of porches to sit yourself and enjoy the nice sun. Great place to slow down your morning. The food was pretty good, but nothing truly exceptional. Overall, a pretty nice spot to relax.

Amazing!!' Tucked just off the beaten path in La Jolla, Encanto Coffee lives up to its name--charming, intimate, and inviting. The space is clean, modern, and full of warmth, thanks in part to the friendly staff who glide between Spanish and English with ease as they orchestrate your order like a well-rehearsed kitchen symphony. The menu is a thoughtful curation of breakfast and lunch favorites with a few standout creations. I opted for their signature drink, The Encanto--a luscious blend of Irish cream with coconut milk (subbed in for whole milk). The froth was artful, creamy, and crowned with a heart. Flavor-wise? Deeply rich, full-bodied, and roasted to perfection. To pair, I chose the cinnamon roll-style morning bun--a flaky, golden crust giving way to a soft, cinnamon-heavy center, topped with silky white icing and a salted caramel ribbon. Decadent without being overdone. As I sat enjoying a side of thick, smoky bacon, the background music swirled between Spanish ballads and English acoustic--perfectly capturing a relaxed, south-of-the-border vibe while staying true to La Jolla's upscale café scene. A must-visit if you're seeking soulful coffee, bold flavors, and a welcoming atmosphere that blends cultures and cuisine seamlessly.

Overall presentation is nice, felt welcomed by the greeter, possibly the manager. However, the girl who was at the counter didn't have any customer service etiquette nor maintained the feeling of making us feel welcomed (no smile whatsoever, no thank yous). We ordered two different matchas and neither were great 5/10, don't taste like matcha. wouldnt come back.

Had a nice relaxing breakfast at this location after our morning walk. The food was delicious and well made. Service was excellent. They have indoor and outdoor dining options which was nice.

Recently came here for the first time and absolutely loved it! The food, beverage, decor, views and service were all just wonderful. I got the turkey pesto sandwich with an iced chai latte and both were delicious (I could have consumed a whole second round of each)! There is a little bit of indoor seating as well as a small upper terrace and bigger lower street level terrace area. Though this cafe is super cute and inviting, there is a notice to keep computer work to 40 minutes here (and there is not wi-fi for customers) so would not bank on this being a place you come to work for hours. This is completely understandable though for allowing for more foot traffic and people to enjoy the cafe as this is a prime and beautiful location. But absolutely still recommend stopping in for food/drinks and the views. Staff is super friendly and helpful! Classic downtown La Jolla street parking.

Service a little slow but good was great. Cashier was friendly. Avocado toast was fresh. Avocado was mixed with a vitamix so was pretty smooth, I prefer it with a little more texture but was good. Had the caprese toast which was also very good and different than avocado toast.

Delicious breakfast and latte. Service was excellent and location was clean and peaceful. Croissant and other pastries looked great.

Cute little spot it's in the perfect location to take a peak at the beach caves if you don't want to commit to driving down to the beach entrance.

Came here because we wanted to have a nice lunch in La Jolla at a cute cafe. I ordered what sounded like a basic sandwich, but it ended up being one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life! What a surprise, what a gem, what a find. Who knew you could find such a tasty sandwich in a cafe like this. We came for the vibes, but stayed for the food! The interior of the cafe also has a unique charm and coziness to it. Parking in the area sucks, per usual for that area of La Jolla. We also ordered the matcha latte, and it unfortunately was bad. Do not get the matcha latte here.

My experience at this place was once positive, but the service I received on my return (1/17/2026) was disappointing. The lady who helped me seemed snobby, which gave me the impression that I wasn't welcome and that I was being rushed. When I placed my order and explicitly requested it 'for here,' I was surprised to find that both drinks were packaged for takeout. I pointed out the mistake, but she nonchalantly disregarded my concern without apologizing or offering a correction. Observing other customers, I noticed everyone else's drinks were served in glasses. Idk! Just saying! NEVER COMING BACK HERE, EVER!!!

Food was delicious! I got the el vainero. It comes with a chunks of cheese, some shredded fish and homemade tortillas with fried plantain. The blend of the fish, cheese, and plantain gave a very unique blended flavor like no other. Highly recommend. Service was exceptional and the ambiance was pleasant. We there for brunch and got seated almost immediately. The hot sauces are a must try. The green one was the best and has a kick to it.

I don't usually order a breakfast burrito as they are often bland and require gobs of salsa for flavor. Not here! Next time I come I want to try the coffee, because it looks to be their forte. Love the Colombian trip wall con una mascota preciosa. Also got a gluten free muffin, looked rough on the outside, but absolutely delish once unwrapped. Flavor was blueberry, and it was filled with them. The muffin was moist and not grainy like some gluten free ones can be. Not overly sweet, but still with plenty of berry deliciousness. All in all a wonderful stop with enough character to cameo in a 90's rom com.

I ordered a few drinks for my friends and me to try since it was our first time here, and we were heading to the beach after. They hand-whisk their matcha for each drink, which I really appreciate because most matcha spots in San Diego pre-make theirs. I got the regular matcha latte. I assumed it would already be sweetened, but it wasn't, which wasn't a big deal for me since I prefer little to no sweetness. It was still really good: perfect consistency, and you can definitely taste the matcha. My cousin got the matcha cream top (similar to a matcha einspänner), and I loved their vanilla bean syrup(?) that was included in the drink. It had the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess. My friends also tried the orange latte, and they were pleasantly surprised by the cream on top. The orange flavor was noticeable but still subtle, and the coffee itself was strong. The syrups balanced everything out nicely. Definitely would come back again!

Chef Maeve Rochford, the owner of Sugar & Scribe won Season 2 of Food Network's Holiday Baking Championship. She is also known for competing on Food Network's Beat Bobby Flay and Kids Baking Championship. We recommend trying the following: *Butter Poached Lobster Benedict with Poached eggs, Maine Lobster, Arugula, Parsley hollandaise with side of potatoes and bacon. *Blueberry Love Pancakes with blueberry compote, snow sugar and white chocolate mousse. Both orders were excellent 5/5 stars. I tried the Horchata Latte but couldn't really taste the horchata and wasn't sweet enough for me. I wouldn't order this latte again, but maybe y'all would enjoy the flavor better. The restaurant has outdoor seating with heating lamps and welcomes well behaved dogs in their outdoor patio.
