The lady taking our order was a bit stand off-ish when I asked a few questions. As if once I asked, she knew we were from out of town and sort of kept it short. I got the vibe she likes to deal with her regulars or people who know what they want. As this was an entirely new place for us, I wanted to ask about their popular drinks or if there were any seasonal drinks or special. But all I got was mainly "there's a menu if you want to take a look" They do offer donuts and pastries but as the fly was hovering about (which the cashier ignored as if she pretended it wasn't almost hitting our faces) I was turned off by eating. Recently came here for the first time and absolutely loved it! The food, beverage, decor, views and service were all just wonderful. I got the turkey pesto sandwich with an iced chai latte and both were delicious (I could have consumed a whole second round of each)! There is a little bit of indoor seating as well as a small upper terrace and bigger lower street level terrace area. Though this cafe is super cute and inviting, there is a notice to keep computer work to 40 minutes here (and there is not wi-fi for customers) so would not bank on this being a place you come to work for hours. This is completely understandable though for allowing for more foot traffic and people to enjoy the cafe as this is a prime and beautiful location. Truly horrible, from the food to the customer service. Don't waste your time or money. We stood there for five minutes waiting to order and the employee was not paying us any attention. There was no "hi" or "I'll be right with you", just straight disrespect not saying literally anything at all.Came here with friends, I ordered a fifteen dollar smoothie. It came out extremely watery and had no flavor. It really did not taste good. I could have made a better smoothie at home. All my friends tried it and immediately made a face of disgust-it was that bad. I politely asked if fruit could be added or something so it would taste better, or if it could be remade. The manager then came over and after speaking to my friend about her messed up smoothie, she said nothing could be done about mine because it followed the recipe. I responded mentioning the watery smoothie, and the manager said "It doesn't LOOK watery", and walked away. Everyone at our table looked at each other in disbelief. What happened to the customer is always right? Sorry I don't want to pay fifteen dollars for a terrible smoothie with no flavor. I did not get it remade, or refunded. Overall it was a terrible dining experience. There was a forty minute dining period, no water, no restroom, flies everywhere, and no wifi, despite it being a cafe where people come to do work. My friend also ordered a smoothie, and it tasted awful as well. Extremely watered down. She then asked if there was orange added to the smoothie because it didn't taste like it, and it specifically said orange on the menu. The barista insisted no, multiple times, saying "We don't put orange in our smoothies". Only for my friend to grab the menu and show her the smoothie she ordered. It indeed did say orange. She then apologized and said she could add orange juice to the already made smoothie, which my friend agreed to. It came back, tasting worse, like a sour mushy watery flavor. She didn't even drink it. Another friend ordered chips and guacamole. The guacamole came in the smallest dish, maybe a 1/4 measuring cup size. For ten dollars. The "guacamole" was brown, and couldn't even be called guacamole because it was just mashed avocado. There was no seasoning, tomato, onion, anything. And again, it was brown. I had a very disappointing experience here. We came for lunch on a weekday, and the restaurant was almost empty, there was only one other table occupied. Despite that, my sandwich took about 45 minutes to arrive. What was even more frustrating was that my friend, who had ordered before I did and was dining with two kids, didn't receive their food until after we brought it up to the staffs' attention and still they waited for an additional 15 minutes, reaching an hour wait for their food after ordering. To prove they didn't, we gave them my friend's table number, they looked completely confused and had no idea what had happened to the order. To make matters worse, another group that arrived about 30 minutes after us ordered the exact same items (a sandwich and a flatbread) and they received their food, finished eating, and left before my friend's order even came out. I understand that mistakes happen, and mix-ups with orders are inevitable sometimes. What made this experience so disappointing wasn't the delay itself, but the complete lack of accountability and empathy. Rather than apologizing for the mistake, the staff seemed to place the blame on us. The final frustration came when my friend took their kids to use the restroom, only to find that it was out of order. As for the food, it was just okay. The chilaquiles were soggy, and the refried beans were so oily that the oil was seeping through the plate. The sandwiches were the best part of the meal. The iced Americano was bland and the Mocca coffee just tasted of sugary chocolate and no coffee. Neither were good! Particularly the service provided from the women with the orange/reddish hair. Upon my girlfriend and I's arrival, we were immediately met with a condescending, pretentious energy from her that carried on throughout our one hour dine in experience here. It was a let down truly because once again, the food and ambience was great, but the service was very unwelcoming and we will not be back nor recommend because of this. However, as someone with a background in customer service, I was disappointed by the lack of hospitality afterward. ​The shop was completely empty, and the owner even sat nearby to eat lunch, but no one offered to replace the drink--or even asked if I wanted to order a new one. While I know replacing a spilled drink isn't a strict responsibility, offering a small gesture or a replacement goes a long way in hospitality, especially since I had left a generous 18% tip. The most beautiful cafe I've ever been to. It's very tiny and quaint, but so pretty. I felt like I was in a restaurant, rather than a cafe. I loved it! I had a hazelnut latte which was pretty good! Not my very favorite, but I'll give myself more time to review the full menu next time. The barista was very friendly. The staff brings your drink right up to your table when it's ready, which was a nice touch. One suggestion is to maybe put the WiFi password out. Accompanying a partner to a restroom is not an uncommon situation in public spaces, which is why clear communication would have prevented this entirely.
