We were here for a celebration because the view is always amazing. The menu looks great and that's probably where I say it ends. I always have such high hopes, but tonight proved again why it's only mediocre and overpriced. I got the short ribs. There was no flavor to it. The meat was cooked amazing but there was just not enough flavor like a little bit more flavor to the sauce and a little bit more sauce , even the carrots were raw I couldn't even get a knife through them. To Russell sprouts one came and again, just not enough to them. They fell flat. The second order came an hour after we had finished our meal then the check was received. With said, returned product on our check. Our server never check back in on us. We had to ask other servers to assist us and bring us additional items lackluster
We came here in on a sunny week day to enjoy the beach and the beautiful day after a long walk on the boardwalk. The service is great, we were attended to quite quickly and the food came out quickly as well. Loved our selections and would come again! No complaints really lol
Really enjoyed eating here over the weekend. Came here with a friend and we both shared the braised short rib. I ordered mine with French fries instead of mash potato's and it was really good. The service was very fast and the ambiance was also great! Perfect place to come eat by the ocean.
I've been here many times, but this visit stood out. We sat at the bar, and the service was exceptional. Our bartender, Shelby, was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaged throughout our visit. It's clear she truly enjoys what she does. I was completely indecisive about what to order, so Shelby asked me to describe the flavors I enjoy and crafted a custom cocktail based on my preferences. She absolutely nailed it--it was phenomenal. Her outstanding service and engaging personality made for a fantastic experience, and I'll definitely be back.
Locals here, decided to drive down to Pacific Beach and have breakfast. They have a fabulous selection everyone's so friendly and the view from there is fabulous. Highly recommend. I had the avocado toast with breakfast potatoes and my husband had breakfast burrito with breakfast potatoes. Both very good.
Stopped in at JRDN on a beautiful Friday night about 30 minutes before sunset. I asked the two hostesses if there was an ocean view table available and they accommodated me. Our waiter Arnold did an AMAZING job and gave us EXCELLENT service with plenty attention to detail. The chef came out multiple times to check on us as well as other patrons. The sunset was PRICELESS and it just reminds me that JRDN is a precious jewel in Pacific Beach. I couldn't believe how beautiful the presentation was and how FRESH the seafood tasted! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant
Ahi Nachos were very good. They forgot the drinks but they got it fixed. Great vibe. The server was cool. Great sunset.
This place looks like it's about to impress. Beautiful, upscale vibe with a sleek dining room and a big sports bar up front. Service was solid, and it definitely feels like a "special occasion" kind of spot. The Wagyu burger, though, was a letdown. Amazing fries, but the burger itself was surprisingly bland--even with grilled onions and cheese. For $26-$28, the "Wagyu" label felt more like marketing than magic. I've honestly had more flavorful burgers at In-N-Out (animal style), which isn't a great look for a high-end burger. On the bright side, my wife's risotto was excellent--easy 10/10. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the risotto was rich and flavorful, and even the waitress said it's one of her favorite dishes (advice I should've taken). Bottom line: great atmosphere, good service, one standout dish--but skip the burger. I wouldn't go out of my way to return unless someone else was choosing. Street parking only, mostly free if you're lucky.
I write this review a little late. The view this place provides is incredible. Even at night it was still a vibe. We waited quite awhile before we even got waters to the table. Server was very friendly once he got caught up, & servers can really make or break a place, ours was what made it good. The food was alright, and portion size was great but other than that, nothing worth mentioning. The pictures and taste are completely different. My favorite if I had to choose is the mac & chesse. That I finished, and they did cook the steaks as temp requested. The ceasers salad was absolutely horrible not going to lie. I'm not someone to completely knock a place without trying another dish so next time we are back in SD I may try something else, especially with that view.
Honestly, this restaurant deserves higher than a flat 4 stars. From the moment my party walked in, you can feel the energy and excitement. The hostesses were super friendly and accommodating for my friend who had a daughter that needed a high chair. They sat us in an area away from the extra loud area with all the tv's which was perfect cause we wanted to have a nice conversation over dinner and not have to yell at each other lol. Our server Rue was exceptionally great. She helped us pick out drinks and food for the whole table. Now for the food. We did family style from raw, to sushi, to steak and veggies, and even the kids menu had a delicious chicken quesadilla for the little one. Everything was on point and prepared or cooked to perfection. This is a must visit and dine at spot either for a date, party, or if you just want some great food and drinks. I'll be back again when I'm SD.
I've tried lots of different things at JRDN but I'll always come back for the mussels. I can't come here without ordering them. Besides the mussels, JRDN is a nice place to grab a drink and watch the sunset. The inside bar area is pretty loud but the outside patio is lovely. Service is always attentive.
I came for breakfast on my walk by the beach. I made a quick reservation because it was getting busy even though it was just one person I was seated right away outside on the patio, which had a great view of people walking palm trees, all the beach stuff. I ordered avocado toast with potatoes and a coffee. I was serviced by Evangeline not exactly sure of her spelling, but she was lovely. I got my food right away. My coffee was filled up and topped off throughout my breakfast. I didn't feel rushed. The potatoes were so delicious which could be a hit or miss at a hotel restaurant. The food was good. I have stopped in here before for like a quick drink or anything or something. This is my first time sitting down, enjoying breakfast definitely will do this again.
Great sushi rolls, delicious food, and drinks. The espresso martini was a standout, and the service was excellent from start to finish. I've been meaning to try this spot for a while, and it did not disappoint. Would love to come back for sunset one of these days--perfect PB vibes.

Four stars for Jrdn. The view is superb, and the scallops were the highlight of our dinner. When I asked the executive chef about them, he took the time to tell me the whole story behind the dish. After we finished, he came back to ask what I thought. I loved them. The halibut was excellent, too. The burger was the miss. It was dry and tasted a little off. Our server was pleasant, but disappeared for long stretches, so we waited for just about everything. The rest of the serving team clearly knew how to get things done. Between the view, the scallops, the halibut, and the chef's personal attention, I'd go back. I'd just hope for more consistent service next time read more
Loved my visit here! Right by the water, it's a great location & has a pretty interior. There's a large projector screen for games, a good sized bar inside/outside wrapping to the patio. In a Friday night around 7 we were able to get in immediately and sit at a table! The calamari was delicious 10/10. I loved the addition of the fried broccoli & peppers, those were great too, as well as the sauce served with! Drinks were great, too. For three drinks & an appetizer the total was about $100. JRDN has been here for over two decades! It's our go to right on the beach and pier with awesome views. No bad seats. Plenty of open space and great for large groups. Street parking only, many small paid lots and they valet for first two hours free since it's linked to the hotel Tower23. I had a work party of 20 during lunch that rolled over to happy hour past 3pm! It's basically tourist price in exchange for the local view. Food can be a hit or miss. They serve mainly seafood. Although you'll find short rib sliders or chicken sandwich. -Crispy calamari - delicious batter but weird that they threw in broccoli and peppers when it could have been all calamari -Steamed mussels - this was the best. Had two sourdough slices and the tomato purée had tons of flavor -Ceviche - the chips were stale -Ahi nachos - needed more sauce and filling. Not enough poke to chip ratio. I got mainly a blank chip. -Short rib sliders - many people ordered this and said it was very dry -Roulette roll - most popular roll. I fairly enjoyed the crunch in each bite. Got a Raspberry mojito. It was strong and refreshing but gave me a fat headache later. Must be the rum. We were limited to 8 credit cards but since it was down time, our server was willing to go around to allow us to pay our individual tabs. Thanks, Jaz! read more

For some reason, I thought this was a more formal restaurant, but it turned out to be quite casual. We chose to have dinner out on their spacious patio to enjoy direct views of Pacific Ocean and the sunset views. Surprisingly, the menu here was very global...as in fusion. My husband ordered the Lobster BLT with Fries, and I got this Crabby Tuna Roll. We also shared a plate of Fried Brussels Sprouts, and ordered House Bread with Butter (not complimentary). I also enjoyed their Aperol Spritz, and my husband had red wine. The foods were surprisingly good...and the views were spectacular. I did feel that things were a bit overpriced...and again, even basic bread and butter was 9 bucks. Still, we did NOT regret choosing this on our last night in San Diego. read more

Birthday dinner on Saturday with a small group of friends. Stunning sunset beach views. Friendly and attentive staff. Vast food options. I ordered a bunch of shareable for 8. It was plenty of food. We were stuffed and happy. Note abled we're the lamb lollipops and mussels. Don't skip those two items! Food was served very shortly after ordering. I liked the raw bar display at the entrance. second chance on this place and it did NOT disappoint!! the front desk girl was very pleasant and accommodating. the bar staff and our waiter was also very friendly. this place has a great ambiance right at sunset. (happy hour). we got a sauvignon blac and a seaside spritz. we ordered the lobster sliders and a dozen oysters. YUMMM! read more
Excellent place for a sunset dinner with party vibes! Food is good and the only thing that can be slow is the service because it gets pretty busy. Other than that, a solid pick in Pacific Beach if you're celebrating something with a larger group. We had a party of 8 and aside from some slight service delays, we enjoyed our time here. I got the Skirt Steak and it was cooked just the way I liked it. The Pork Chop was good too and very filling. read more

Beautiful restaurant with beach/sunset views, tvs and a full bar. They've upgraded the furniture over the years for the better. The sushi is reasonably priced and well crafted. I had a salmon Caesar salad this past visit which was a bit pricey but the salmon was cooked perfectly. The crème brulet was a nice treat at the end. Phillip gave good service, I never felt rushed. read more

The lobster BLT was absolutely scrumptious. I enjoyed the music and the gorgeous view of Pacific beach! My friends and I enjoyed the outdoor dining and staff made sure to put the umbrella over us when they noticed the sun hitting us. Our servers took great care of us! I highly recommend dining here, then enjoying Pacific Beach and the shops! read more
Besides the Lobster BLT not being all that the rest was delicious. The vibe was great and our server was awesome. The two sushi rolls we got ordered hit the spot. The house bread and butter was a hit as well. Highly recommend that calamari, talk about seasoned to perfection. Will be back! read more

Looking for a fancy restaurant by the beach for a sweet 16 dinner, what is the vibe like here? Do they do anything fancy for birthdays? Not looking for a private party, just a nice dinner for a group of teens.
Yes! They have a private party room adjacent to the boardwalk with a hip, So. Cal beqch vibe. They can make it as upscale as you want. Great spot for parties!
Are they still serving Mama's French Toast? Saw many pictures of it and it looked incredible, but didn't see it on any of the menus :(
Why does this place have $$$$ when their prices look average?
I'm just guessing that some people may think it's expensive and just click on the 4 dollar signs when asked. It's San Diego right on the beach. So you may pay a bit more than other places like the taco places and bars around the area. My take...…
